        Duck Ho Oh.1997. A Study of the Narrative Degree in the Gospels. Collected Papers on Christian Language Culture, A narrative shows a complex system of tellers or voices located on various levels (narrative degrees) of the discourse. Narrative degrees are determined by who the teller is and who the audience is. Since the meaning of the passage is profoundly influenced by the teller and the audience of the passage, the study of the narrative degrees of the Gospels is crucial to understand them. Several important merits of the study of the narrative degrees are to help the reader 1) to decide the extent of a passage: 2) to find the unity of the passage; 3) to recognize the irony of the text; and 4) to understand the message of a text more clearly (Honam Theological University & Seminary)

        수종 한약재가 백혈병 세포에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

        I am reporting here a syntematic in vitro examination for specificity of anti-cancer effect of several oriental herbs, which have been used frequently for cancer pateints(therapy), on Molt-4 LCL(Lymphoblastoid Cell Line) Leukemic cells in relation to its density and time of incubation. 1. ErOH extract of Jujubae Fructus reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate effectively after 48 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density and it reduced survival rate of LCL effectively after 12 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 2. EtOH extract of Cordyceps reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 36 hour's treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 2. EtOH extract of Fici Fructus reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 4. EtOH extract of Trionycis reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate even at 500㎍/㎖ density and further effective at 1000㎍/㎖ density after 24 hours treatment and it killed the cells completely at 1000㎍/㎖ density after 48 hours treatment, It also Killed LCL completely after 12 hours and 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 5. EtOH extract of Biotae Cacumen reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 12 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density, and after 36 hours treatment it reduced LCL's survival time very effectively. 6. EtOH extract of Psoraleae Fructus reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate very effectively after 24 hours' treatment at 500㎍/㎖ and 1000㎍/㎖'s density, and after 48 hours' treatment at 250㎍/㎖'s density it reduced effectively and it killed the cell completely at 500㎍/㎖ and 1000㎍/㎖'s density. It also killed LCL completely after 12 hours and 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. I hope to proceed with more advanced experiment in vivo and clinically as for the two kinds of oriental herbs and another herbs effective for leukemia.

      • 혈중 젖산농도를 지표로 한 고령자의 전신운동 효과에 관한 연구

        This study is to identify the effect of moderate endurance exercise based on blood lactate accumulation. 8 volunteers who live in S-Gu and are over 65 tears, were separated in two groups. One is exercise group(EG) consisting of 5 people and the other is control group(CG) consisting 3 people. Research was carried out for 12 weeks. Results were as follows: 1. VO₂ change EG have shown insignificant statistical change with approx. 3.74ml/㎏/min increase in max. VO₂ while CG have shown approx. 7.19ml/㎏/min(p<0.05) increase compared to normal status. It is considered that the amount of physical for CG have increased since they routinely take exercise program at a senior center. 2. Blood Lactate accumulation change Incremental change of blood lactate accumulation under full-load execise for EG have indicated approx. 1.81mmol/l(p<0.05) increase during 6 minute of the test while that of CG have decrease. However, the decreasing tendency was not that much meaningful.

        The water quality of the Hong-Cheon river was investigated during the winter season. The rate of contamination of the low tide was a little more than the high tide. But all values of the analyzed-items were similar to those in the clear water.

      • 당뇨병의 임상적 관찰

        One thousand and three hundred and thirty-two cases of diabetes mellitus who were admitted to Yonsei Medica1 Center, Severance Hospital during the period from July 1963 to June 1973 were studied and the following results were obtained. 1. During the period, the total inpatients were 119, 763, giving and overall incidence of the diabetes mellitus 1.11%. The male patients dominated the female by the ratio of 2.3 to 1. The peak incid-enceoccurred in 6th decade. 2. Obese patients (over 10% of ideal body weight) were 52.1% of diabetes mellitus. 3. Probable precipitating factors of diabetes mellitus were obesity (18.8%), heredity (8.3%), and in fection (5.7%) in order of frequency. The precipitating factors could not he elicited in 36.7%. 4. The common symptoms of the onset of the diabetes mellitus were thirst (39.1%) , weakness (36.5%) and polyria (35.7%). 5. The associated complication of the diabetes mellitus were infection (32.3%), hypertension (29.6%) and neuropathy (22.9%), Diabetic coma was encountered in 1.5%. 6. The mild fasting hyperglycemia (120-150mg%) was seen in 32.3% of diabetics. 7. The Hypercholesterolemia (over 200mg%) was seen) in 51.9% of the diabetic. 8. Although therapy had a varyin geffect depending on the therapeutic regimen, there was better effect in the diabetics with lower fasting blood sugar level. 9. The therapeutic effect was bettor in the obese diabetics than the non- obese.

      • 種目別 運動選手들의 足型과 體格에 關한 硏究

        On the supposition that feet have a certain influences on each athletic sports playing ability, athletic lessons should need to be given under the obvious recognition of the relationship between athletic ability and weight, height, chestgirth and essential foot shapes which consist of foot-length, foot-width, interior-height, outerior-height ankle-width, foot-round and LR angle. And by analzing statistically foot-shape conditions through study of subject of the athlete with over 3 years of experience according to each athletics. I aimed at athletic lesson teaching, reasonable player-plcking out efficient training measure, gaining basic data for the improvement of playing ability Used 1BM system of Electronic computer room of korea univ., and gotten these conclusions. 1. ‘Body build’turned out to be larger in each group of Korean-style wrestling and sprint players, and smaller in each group of distance race and field hockey players, than other groups. And it is found that weight and cheat girth are different according to each athletic sports. 2. ‘Foot shape’ judging from correlation between foot-length, foot-round and foot-weidth, it is showed that thin leg of each group of distance race and cycling players are suitable for endurance, and short foot-length and wide foot-width of each group of Korean style wrestling, field hockey players is stable to balance. Each group of foot shape shows an alogical difference in foot-width, outerior-height and foot-round(p<0.005), and analogical difference in foot-length, interior, foot-round and L-R angle(p<0.05). 3. Real angle turned out to be largest in a group of cycling players, and smallest in a group of fencing players.

      • 大學柔道選手들의 Body Density 推定回歸式 作成

        The purpose of this study was to measure accurately the body fat of 37 male university Judo players based on the underwater weighing method, to calculate the body density and the body fat using Futrex, Impedance, Caliper, Skyndex and Ultra-sound and to present the prediction formula of residual volume and calculate the body density by regression equations based on the data from anthropometric measurements. 1. The body % fat of Judo players from the underwater weighing method was 72± 2.44%. 2. The residual volume was 1.3350±0.2476(1) by the oxygen rebreathing method and 1.0977±0.1238(1) by the indirect method of vital capacity. The regression equation using the vital capacity was : Residual volume(1)=0.2165+0.000245×vital capacity. 3. The regression equations of the body density calculated from the measurement of skinfold thickness were as follows: The body density by Caliper(g/ml)=1.0941-0.00088×subscapular-0.001026×triceps. The body density by Skyndex(g/ml)=1.0932-0.001137×subscapular-0.00070×triceps. The body density by Ultra-sound(g/ml)=1.1095-0.00306×triceps-0.0015×femoral. 4. The regression equations of the body density caculated from anthropometric measurements were as follow: 1) The regression equation of the body fat on skinfold thickness The body density(g/ml)+1.1007+0.000507×grith of hip-0.00145×grith of thigh+0.00122×grith of lower thigh. 2) The regression equation of the body density based on skinfold thickness by Caliper, grith of the body, height, weight and age. 3) The regression equation of the body density based on skinfold thickness by skyndex, grith of the body, height, weight and age. The body density(g/ml)=1.0808-0.0010The regression equation of the body density based on skinfold thickness by subscapular-0.0011The regression equation of the body density based on skinfold thickness by triceps+0.0002×height-0.0016×age. 4) The regression equation of the body density based on skinfold thickness by Ultra-sound, grith of the body, height, weigth, and age. The body density(g/ml)=1.1228-0.0030×triceps-0.0017×femora+0.0004×minimum grith of lower thigh-0.0010×age.

      • Malathion이 Mouse 肝細胞內 Pyronin 好性顆粒에 미치는 影響

        Malation은 유기인제 살충제로서 농촌에서는 물론 도시에서도 살충제로 널리 사용되고 있으며 곤충에서는 그 독성이 강하나 사람이나 포유동물에는 그 독성이 비교적 약하게 작용하는 것으로 알려져 있다. Malathion은 용이하게 가수분해되므로 생체내에 흡수되어 축적작용이 적으나 다량의 malathion이 흡수될 때에는 중독증상이 나타나며 조직내의 cholinesterase의 활성을 저해하여 acetylcholine을 축적시켜 결과적으로 부교감신경의 과잉증상과 수의근의 마비로 인한 호흡부전을 일으키게 된다는 사실은 잘 알려져 있다. 그러나 malathion에 중독되었을 때에는 신경기능장해를 일으킬 뿐만 아니라 간장에 대하여도 독작용을 일으킨다고 보고되어 있다. 저자는 malathion이 실험동물의 간세포에 세포독성으로 작용하여 간세포의 microsomal membrane의 손상을 야기시켜 microsomal ribosome에도 영향을 미치리라고 사료되어 간세포내 pyronin 호성과립의 양적변화를 조직화학적으로 추구하였다. 실험동물은 체중 20gm 내외의 건강한 웅성 mouse에 체중 kg당 100mg을 복강내로 주사하여 12시간, 24시간 및 36시간 경과후에 희생하여 간조직을 적출하고 Lillie 용액에 고정한 다음 paraffin 절편을 만들어 methyl green-pyronin 염색으로 간세포내 pyronin호성과립의 양적분포를 광학현미경으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Malathion을 투여한 후 12시간 경과군의 mouse 간장에서는 간세포내 pyronin 호성과립의 형태학적 및 양적변화를 관찰할 수 없었다. 2. Malathion을 투여한 후 24시간 경과군의 mouse 간장에서는 간소염 전역의 간세포에서 pyronin호성과립이 집괴를 형성하고 pyronin 호성과립이 현저히 감소 혹은 소실되었다. 3. Malathion을 투여한 후 36시간 경과군의 mouse 간장에서는 간소엽 전역의 간세포에서 pyronin호성과립은 집괴를 형성하고 있었으나 중등도의 양성반응을 일으킨 pyronin 호성과립이 세포형질내에 분포되었다. 이상 소견을 종합하면 malathion은 mouse 간장의 간세포에서 pyronin 호성과립을 감소 혹은 소실시킨다고 사료된다. Malathion is one of the organic phosphorus compounds which has been widely used as an insecticides. The authors demonstrated the effect of malathion on the liver of the mouse, observing the distribution and disaggregation of the pyroninophilic granules in the hepatic parenchymal cells of albino mice treated with malathion. The animals were given 100mg of malathion per kg of body weight by way of intraperitoneal injection. The animals were killed in the intervals in 12,24 and 35 hours, respectively. Histo chemical preparations were stained were stained with the methyl green and pyronin method for ribonucleic acid granules hepatic parenchymal cells. A marked reduction or disappearance of the pyronophilic granules associated with aggregation in the hepatic parenchymal cells were recongnized at the 24 hours after malathion treated mice. Consequently, it is suggested that malathion would induce change in the microsomal membrane of the hepatic parenchymal cells in albino mice.
