N/A The chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) is an anadromous fish distributed all around the North Pacific. Artificial production and release of the juveniles are being made by Korea, Japan, Russia, Canada and the United States. It is important to set up some criteria identifying each stock in order to clarify each nation`s right of harvest for the chum salmon resource. As an attempt to build such criteria, we analyzed sequences of a microsatellite DNA Ogo5 and the COIII-ND3-ND4L region of the mitochondria1 DNA from chum salmons of Korea, Japan, and the United States. Ogo5 has 4 different alleles: allele A, B-1, B-2, and B-3. Allele B-3 is found only in 3 individuals out of 12 Korea salmons. The Japan salmons have the other 3 alleles and the America salmons have only 2 allels, A and B-1. Heterozygosity index (Ho/He) distinguishes the Korea (1.61) and Japan salmons (1.63) from the America ones (1.09). Seventeen different haplotypes are found in the COIII-ND3-ND4L region from 60 individuals, 20 from each stock. The gene genealogy of the haplotypes revealed by TCS program shows that the Korea and Japan salmons are genetically closely linked, but that they are clearly distinguished from the America ones. Ten and eleven individuals of the Korea and Japan salmons have an identical haplotype. Nine individuals of the Korea salmons (45%), however, are separable from the Japan salmons by their own specific nucleotides. This result presents usefulness of the COIII-ND3-ND4L region as a genetic marker for identification of the chum salmon stocks.

By impproving the educational program of the Department of Architectural Engineering and studying the theory of learning and the applied method necessary for the development of nation and society, we should develop a satisfying course of education to meet the demand and skill in the industralized society for the purpose of cultivating men of baility with great personalities and creative minds. Therefore, this study focused on classifying several kinds of occupations in the prart of architectured related to what graduates from the department of Architectural Engineering go with into the society. Accordingly after choosing some works adequate to each occupation by the proposed curricula, we tried to establish the scope of education and courses corresponding to the jobs and thus and develop a satisfying curriculum.

A wide variety of deformities can occur following repair of the cleft lip. Especially, cleft lip nasal deformities offer the severe psychologic, esthetic, and functional impairment. We must restore the deformities of alar cartilge, nasal tip, septum, columella, or pyriform aperture. The authors reconstructed the cleft lip nasal deformities using with the alar cartilage rearrangement, postauricular cartilage graft, and/or columellar lengthening. The 3 case reports are presented.

수산 발효 식품 제조에 관한 연구 : 1. 어육 발효조의 설계 1. A Model Design of Fermentor

In Korea, fermented fish has been playing an important role as a preserved and flavor rich food. It is said that the digestion of fish protein is due to both action of intrinsic(autolytic enzymes) and bacterial enzymes in fish. The mass production of fermented fish has been impeded since traditional method of fermentation requires a long duration for a complete digestion. A high concentration of salt and unsanitary condition are also considered disadvantages of the old method. To improve the quality of the product and to develop mechanized process of fermentation, fermentors which have such control device as temperature, pH and agitation control system have been urgently needed, In this study, a model design of a fermentor is studied. The calculation was based on the optimum conditions for enzymatic hydrolysis of fish protein which involve temperature, pH, viscosity and other factors.

농업발전을 위한 농과대학의 역할에 관한 연구 : 새로운 농업산학협동체제 모색을 위하여

This study was attempted to propose necessity of the close school-industry cooperation for Korean agricultural and rural development, on assumption that the direct contact between farmers and agricultural college can contribute to better-off living of the small farmers. For this purpose, 197 farm house-holds in Kyeong Sang Buk Do were selected and interviewed. 52.8% of farmers was responsed in necessity of improvement of the present rural extension system. The problems indicated by farmers were mainly the socio-economic and technological factors such as dissemination of inappropriate agricultural technology, and lack of institutional coordination, public service, and extension of farm management. It was identified that the role and function of agricultural college was not directly related to rural development, and thus it was asked that extension system should be added in the present function of agricultural college. As implimenting method of rural extension by agricultural college, it was recommended that farmer's education (winter farmer training program), operation of model farm and dissemination of pamphlets containing informations on agricultural technology were mainly needed. Chi-Wen Chang's social laboratory concept is assumed the most efficient model of rural extension system for agricultural college in Korea.

1940년 전후 소설 속의 지식인 : A Study on the Intellectuals in Korean modern Novel

1) Korean novels around the time of 1940 represent how the intelligenzia suffered the agony and instability in the middle of the ferocious storm of ideological conversion. Most of their agony and instability are related to the problem that has caused as they choose or throw away the ideology of Communism they have had confidence in. Even in the novels which directly represent the problem, there are some aspects difficult to be interpreted in terms of 'choosing/throwing away the ideology of Communism'. So we need to have another semantic implements. 2) Kim-Namchum proposed a new semantic implement in 「Kyoung-Young」 series. 'I' as the subject of his own life, not as an anti-subjective is the convertive ideological implement against to the entire history of Proletarian novels. It fundamentally deconstructs the unchangeable, absolute self-identity which supports Proletarian literature served to the proletarian revolution with the strong political purposiveness. 3) In the around 1940s novels, the intelligenzia of the days under the new ruling ideology, Japanese Imperialism, prepare their future an ideology of 'endurance' and 'hope'. It is characteristically described in Yu-Jinoh´s 「Whasangbo」 that stands in the highest peak as a proletarian novel representing the chaos of the intelligenzia who took an active role in the communist movement. In other words they earn the ideology that would free from the chaoa. 4)Lee-Hyosuk tried to open up a new exit of his unique value system of neutral ideology. It fundamentally criticizes the totality of the literature prior to his including Proletarian Literature in terms which it esteems the will and passion of the individual. It also practically deconstructs moral severeness that is characteristic in Korean literature freeing oneself from the traditional morality and value.

Chlorella Protein의 營養評價에 關한 硏究〔Ⅱ〕 : 人工消化率과의 比較 Comparative of Artificial Digestion Ratio

The excellency of nutritional value in Chlorella Protein had already been proved, in the previous report of mine, by animal metabolic test. This time, by artificial digestive test, the following results have been obtained : 1) The artificial digestive ratio is increased by 70%, when 1(one) mg of Pepsin is acted on 1(one) gram of sample. 2) The digestive ratio is increased by 10% when the sample is homogenized. From this, we could see that the digestive ratio for Chlorella Protein is dependent upon the previous processes. 3) The artificial digestive test after the process of homogenation has shown us that Chlorella, when cultured by the synchronous culture method, is good in its quality, though its harvest per unit area is small in quantity.

1920~1930년대 조선문학과 상해 : 조선 근대문학자의 중국관과 근대 인식을 중심으로

1919년 3·1운동을 전후로 하여 근대 조선의 많은 문학자들은 아시아의 대표적인 근대도시 상해에 와서 체험을 쌓았고 상해지역의 중국인을 비롯한 여러 인종과 그들의 각양각색의 생활을 다룬 실기류와 시, 소설 작품을 창작해 국내에 발표했다. 하지만 그들의 체험은 언어적 장애, 중국의 최고 지성들과의 교류와 대화의 불가능성 등으로 말미암아 대부분 외관적인 관찰에 치우치고 있으며 주로 상해 하층민과 상해에 체류한 조선인들의 생활에 머물고 있다. 주로 실기류와 소설을 살펴보면, 조선의 근대 문학자들은 조선 국내에서 일제의 폭력과 문화적인 헤게모니(Hegemony)에 의해 언론의 자유를 제한 받은 상황에서 이국 상해에서의 체험을 통해 조국의 식민지현실을 성찰, 반성, 비판, 극복하는 계기를 마련할 수 있었다. 말하자면 그들은 이역 상해-즉 타자(The other)를 자기 조국의 현실을 비추어보는 거울로 삼았으며 그 과정에서 유토피아적 형상과 이데올로기적 형상을 창조함으로써 그들 조국의 낙후된 현실을 부정하고 근대화를 이룩하기 위한 모델을 제시하거나 조국의 식민지상황을 재확인했다. 그러나 일부 문학자들은 상해의 식민성을 보지 못하고 그 외관적인 모습에 현혹된 나머지 상해를 식민지 조선이 따라 배워야 할 모델로 제시하고 있는가 하면, 그들의 심리 속에 깊이 잠재된 이중적 신분으로 말미암아 이른바 "문화적 우위"에 서서 오리엔탈리즘의 시각으로 중국 국민의 개회되지 못한 모습을 극대화해 그림으로써 조선 국내 독자들의 호기심에 만족을 주고 부지불식간에 일본의 헤게모니 담론에 동조하고 있다. 또한 일부 근대문학자들은 근대성의 음영과 폐단을 극복하기 위한 대안으로 농경문화를 기반으로 하는 전통사회, 전근대적인 도덕과 윤리를 제시하고 있는가 하면 사회주의혁명을 제시하기도 한다. 사회주의 혁명을 제시하는 경우 민족모순과 계급모순의 경중환급을 따지지 않고 있으며 "단절 속의 반복"의 폐단, 즉 근대 자본주의에 대한 극단적인 저항과 인위적인 단절 뒤에 빚어질 수 있는 새로운 "제국"의 출현에 대해서는 경계하지 못하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 상해를 배경으로 한 상술한 작품들은 해당 시기 한국 본토의 문학으로는 완수할 수 없는 과제, 즉 조선의 근대화에 대한 성찰을 진행할 수 있었고 해당 시기의 문학에 이채를 더해줄 수 있었다. Shanghai became one of the biggest metropolitan in the world after 1842. Shanghai had been in a close relation to Koreans, as many Koreans settled down and set up the temporary Korean government during the colonized period. At that time, many Korean writers in Shanghai were deeply impressed by the Modernism and political freedom prevailed in Shanghai and it effects the field of literature, while they posed a critical attitude toward ambivalence between modernity and conventional customs in Shanghai. In literary works, the writer Chu Yo-so^b described the poverty within the lower-positioned people, and Kim Kwang-Ju represented a Korean as a multi-player on the stage of Shanghai, scrutinizing the evil practices in modern society.

Ⅱ-Ⅵ Compound Material (ZnS, CdS)에 있어서의 Electro Luminescence Effect

After diffusing metallic impurity to CdS and ZnS single crystal, its various effects on voltage and temperatures have been measured. In CdS Cu or Ag is concentreated as activator, 'it produces light which belongs to the Infra-Red region. Therefore, it was not good as an E.L. cell. ZnS didn't produce light, for the inpure state does not exist an activator which forms the color center. But when ZnS crystal was heated with about 1000℃ in flux(1%) of NaCl vappour and on alternative voltage was applied to it, blue (4,450A) light appeared by "self-activator". By concentrating Cu in ZnS blue (4,450A) and green (5,230A) lights appeared. Emitted intensity from Electro Luminescence cell increase with the applied voltage and Emission Spectrums sharp at low temperature.
