Pressure Evolution of the Metamagnetic Transition in UCoAl As Measured Using 59Co NMR
Hisashi Kotegawa,Hiroki Nohara,Hideki Tou,Tatsuma D. Matsuda,Etsuji Yamamoto,Yoshinori Haga,Zachary Fisk,Yoshichika Onuki,Dai Aoki,Jacques Flouquet 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
We have performed NMR measurements under pressure in UCoAl with a quantum critical endpointof the metamagnetic transition from the paramagnetic phase to the ferromagnetic (FM) phase. 59Co-NMR sensitively detects the evolution of the internal field caused by applying the externalfield. The metamagnetic field Hm increases with increasing pressure consistently with other experimentalmethods, accompanied by the suppression of the magnetization in the field-induced FMphase and the magnetization jump at Hm. The loss of the NMR signal on approaching the QCEPindicates the development of the spin fluctuations.
Formal Verification of Web Navigation by Symbolic Model Checking

Previously, it is general that users navigate from a web page to the other by clicking on a hyperlink. Recently web pages become dynamic with a variety of scripts and embedded client side programs. Such pages with dynamic navigation have a more complicated structure, so it is difficult to model and analyze. In this paper, we present a method to verify systems which have dynamic web navigation. For this purpose, we model the navigation using a UML statechart diagram and translate the model to a boolean expression. Thus it becomes possible to verify the systems formally using symbolic model checking. To demonstrate the proposed method, we apply the method to a system with dynamic web navigation and model-check the system using symbolic model checking tool called NuSMV [9]. As a result, we verified reachability to all pages of the system.
Low-Power CMOS CNN Cell and its Application to an Oscillatory CNN

In this paper, we propose a low-power operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) for low-power CMOS cellular neural networks (CNN) cell. The OTA use MOSFETs operating in the weak inversion region. The transconductance gm can be changed by changing the external bias voltage. The proposed OTA is verified by HSPICE simulations with the 0.18 ㎛ standard CMOS device parameters. From the results, the power consumption is less than 3.5 ㎼ with 1.2 V power supply. As an application of the proposed OTA, an oscillatory CNN circuit using two CNN cells with the proposed OTA is presented.
Image-Enhanced Endoscopy and Its Corresponding Histopathology in the Stomach
( Hisashi Doyama ),( Hiroyoshi Nakanishi ),( Kenshi Yao ) 대한간학회 2021 Gut and Liver Vol.15 No.3
In recent years, the technological innovation and progress of endoscopic equipment have been remarkable, and various endoscopic observation techniques have been developed. Among them, representative techniques are magnified observation and narrow-band imaging. Magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band imaging (M-NBI) can visualize superficial microanatomies in the stomach. The normal morphology of the microanatomy visualized using M-NBI differs according to the part of the stomach. The vessel plus surface (VS) classification system has been developed as a diagnostic criterion for early gastric cancer using M-NBI, and its usefulness has been proven. Based on the VS classification system, a magnifying endoscopy simple diagnostic algorithm for early gastric cancer (MESDA-G), a simplified algorithm used for early gastric cancer diagnosis, was created. We aimed to describe the anatomic structure of the stomach that can be viewed using M-NBI and outline the principles and clinical application of the VS classification system and MESDA-G. Objective: Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disorder, and estrogen can act as a proliferative factor and a proinflammatory and antiapoptotic factor in endometriotic stromal cells (SCs). We previously revealed that Peroxisome-proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) stimulates aromatase activity and thus promotes local estrogen biosynthesis in ovarian endometrioma (OE). In this study, we investigated the potential of PGC-1α as a molecular target for endometriosis treatment. Method: Primary stromal cells from OE (n=23) and normal endometrium (NE; n=10) tissues were cultured, and PGC-1α was either overexpressed in the cells or knocked down using siRNA. The expression of PGC-1α and other factors during endometriosis was examined using real-time PCR and western blotting, cell proliferation was measured using WST-8 assays, and transcriptional activity was assessed using luciferase-reporter assays. Result: PGC-1α overexpression promoted the proliferation of OESCs, but not NESCs, in a time-dependent manner (P<0.01), stimulated the expression of aromatase (P<0.01) and interleukin (IL)-6/IL-8 (P<0.05), and led to IκB phosphorylation and upregulation of the apoptosis inhibitors XIAP and survivin (P<0.05). HX531, a selective retinoid- X receptor-α (RXRα) antagonist, suppressed the PGC-1α-induced cell proliferation (P<0.05), expression of aforementioned factors (P<0.05), and transcription-reporter activity in a dose-dependent manner (P<0.01). Moreover, HX531 downregulated PGC-1α-induced aromatase-promoter Ⅰ.3-Ⅱ transcripts in OESCs, and PGC-1α knockdown also reduced the expression of aromatase, IL-6/IL-8, and antiapoptotic factors (P<0.05). In addition, both hypoxia and iron overload stimulated the expression of PGC-1α in OESCs (P<0.01). Notably, RXRα immunostaining was markedly stronger in OE than NE tissue. Conclusion: PGC-1α plays critical roles during cell proliferation in endometriosis. Thus, the PGC-1α pathway could represent a potential target in molecular therapy for endometriosis.

This paper presents a novel three-phase power module bridge type auxiliary resonant AC link snubber for the three-phase voltage-fed sinwave soft switching PWM inverter operating under specific instantaneous space voltage vector modulation The operating principle of this resonant snubber is described for current source load model during one switching period, along with its design approach based on the simulation data The performance evaluations of space vector modulation three-phase sinewave soft switching inverter with a new three-phase active auxiliary resonant AC link snubber are discussed as compared with those of three-phase voltage source-fed sinewave hard switching PWM inverter with a standard space voltage vector modulation strategy The power loss analysis and conventional efficiency estimation of three-phase soft switching PWM inverter using IGBT modules are carried out including all the conduction power losses based upon the measured v-i characteristics of IGBT and its antiparallel diode as well as their switching losses
