The mealybug, Dysmicoccus walkeri (Newstead, 1891) (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Pseudococcidae), is recorded fromJapan (in Tottori Prefecture) for the first time, on the dwarf bamboo, Sasa veitchii Rhehdar var. hirsute. A detailed description of this species, based on the newly found Japanese population is given. The morphology of the Japanese population differs slightly fromEngland population of D. walkeriwhich is the type locality population, in having more numerous multilocular disc pores on the dorsum, but is here tentatively treated as amorphological variation of this species. A key to the Japanese species of Dysmicoccus Ferris, 1950 is also provided.

Helicobacter pylori is a major human pathogen that plays central roles in chronic gastritis and gastric cancer. Recently, we reported that auraptene suppressed H. pylori adhesion via expression of CD74, which has been identified as a new receptor for H. pylori urease. In this study, we attempted to clarify the effects of oral feeding of auraptene on H. pylori infection and resultant inflammatory responses in C57BL/6 mice and found that it remarkably attenuated H. pylori colonization and gastritis. Biochemical analyses revealed that auraptene inhibited H. pylori–induced expression and/or production of CD74, macrophage migration inhibitory factor, interleukin-1b, and tumor necrosis factor-a in gastric mucosa, together with serum macrophage inhibitory protein-2. It is notable that treatment with this coumarin during the pretreatment period was more effective than that during posttreatment. Our results suggest that auraptene is a promising phytochemical for reducing the risk of H. pylori–induced gastritis and carcinogenesis.
Management of Arrhythmias Associated with Cardiac Sarcoidosis
Hirotaka Yada,Kyoko Soejima 대한심장학회 2019 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.49 No.2
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disorder of unknown etiology. The annual incidence of systemic sarcoidosis is estimated at 10–20 per 100,000 individuals. Owing to the recent advances in imaging modalities, cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) is diagnosed more frequently. The triad of CS includes conduction abnormality, ventricular tachycardia, and heart failure. Atrial and ventricular arrhythmias are caused by either inflammation or scar formation. Inflammation should be treated with immunosuppression and antiarrhythmic agents and scar formation should be treated with antiarrhythmics and/or ablation, in addition to implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation, if necessary. Ablation can provide a good outcome, but it might require bipolar ablation if the critical portion is located mid-myocardium. Late recurrence might be caused by reactivation of sarcoidosis, which would need to be evaluated by positron emission tomography-computed tomography imaging. Risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients with advanced atrioventricular block is not low, and ICD implantation could be considered instead of a pacemaker. For risk stratification for SCD, late gadolinium enhancement by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging or program stimulation is often used.

Temperature monitoring is essentially important for stable control of fabrication processes. In order to develop a convenient 2-dimensional temperature monitoring system using a thermo-paint, photoluminescence (PL) images are observed from the luminous paints at various temperatures. Commercially available and in-house modified luminous paints are evaluated for improving temperature sensitivity and stability of the thermo-paints. Temperature dependences of PL images from various luminous paints are reported for developing temperature monitoring procedure using a thermo-paint.

Recently, welfare vehicles are widely used by patients and elders indoors, and many welfare vehicles with free casters drive indoors. However, the vehicle with free casters may not be able to move well on gravel or dirty road as seen in rural yard. In order to expand driving area for welfare vehicles, it is necessary to apply a new mechanism on the rough road. To design compact welfare vehicles for outdoor use at low cost, the skid steer mechanism is focused on. The skid steer vehicle (SSV) has been used for its high traveling ability on rough road. However, the SSV has disadvantage that the maneuvering assistance is required because its steering is highly affected by road condition. This study aims a driving assistance of SSV for patients and elders by using Model Error Compensator (MEC) that suppresses the modeling error. The proposed controller consists of MEC, Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) that reduces sensor and system noise assuming the undulating and skiddy gravel road, and estimation of cornering power of SSV. The effectiveness of the proposed control system is confirmed by the outdoor driving experiment comparing asphalt and gravel roads.

In this paper, we propose the new bow-tie antenna design method, which realizes the wideband and high gain antenna element for the shared aperture antenna on airborne radar. In order to improve the common bow-tie antenna characteristics, we propose four improvement approaches. The details of improvement approaches are presented. We built the prototype array antenna composed of 64 elements designed, and demonstrated that it had significantimprovement on the antenna element gain over 6 to 18 GHz.
