DESTINATION NEUROGENETICS:CREATION OF DESTINATION MEME MAPS OF TOURISTS
Hilmi A Atadil,Ercan Sirakaya-Turk,Ksenia Kirillova 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2016 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2016 No.7
Even though Memetics, the study area of meme maps, has been well-studied in the Cognitive Neuroscience and Computer Science disciplines, there has been no research attempt on Memetics in the Tourism and Hospitality field. Seminal studies in the marketing field suggest that the concepts of destination image and meme maps are highly-related. Accordingly, the purpose of the current study is twofold: (1) to identify the overall Destination Image Meme Maps of Antalya, Turkey and their favorite tourism destination, and (2) to identify and evaluate the similarities and differences in the structures of the previously generated two categories of Destination Image Meme Maps. The data was gathered from two samples consisting of 272 Russian and 262 German travelers visiting a medium-sized city (i.e. Antalya) located in the south region of Turkey. This study adopts and enhances the knowledge of Memetics into Tourism and Hospitality research. It also provides important practical and methodological contributions.

The absorption coefficients have been widely used for problems and applications involving dose calculations. Direct measurements of the coefficients are difficult, and theoretical computations are usually employed. In this paper, analytical equations are presented for determining the mass energy absorption coefficients for gamma rays with an incident energy range between 0.4 MeV and 10 MeV in silicon, carbon, copper and sodium iodide. The mass energy absorption coefficients for gamma rays were calculated, and the results obtained were compared with the values reported in the literature.
Analytical Modeling of Magnetically Saturated Inductance by Lambert W Function
Hilmi Gurleyen,Erkan Mese 한국자기학회 2017 Journal of Magnetics Vol.22 No.3
Inductance is one of the most important components in order to make energy conversion in the power converters. The dynamics of power converter are affected by inductance. Therefore, in order to obtain accurate power converter dynamic model, one needs to have accurate inductance model. An inductance value is not always constant as it depends on current. Especially in the saturation region, inductance value decreases when current increases. On the other hand, exact eddy current and hysteresis losses estimation can be obtained with an accurate inductance model. This paper proposes an improved analytical inductance model that considers nonlinear B-H curve of a core material. A nonlinear B-H function is fitted using the Matlab Curve Fitting Toolbox. This function includes magnetic flux density (B) against magnetic field strength (H) variation in the both linear and saturation regions. The magnetic circuit model is obtained using a lumped parameter method and the Lambert W function is used to solve the equation which includes nonlinear core reluctance. In conclusion, a nonlinear analytical inductance model is proposed.

Aims: Liver is an organ that plays an important role in lipid metabolism. The accumulation of lipids can increase the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Malondialdehyde (MDA) can be used as a marker of oxidative stress. If this occur continuously, it will increase the risk of non alcoholic fatty liver disease. There were few studies have compared the effect of non-fermented and fermented soymilk on dyslipidemia. The purpose of this research is to compare the effect of non-fermented and fermented soymilk on liver MDA levels of dyslipidemic rats. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method with post-test only control group design. This research was conducted in the laboratory of physiology, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) for 4 weeks. This research used male Wistar strain rats aged 1-2 months with BW of 100-150 grams. Rats were divided into four groups. All groups were given fed ad libitum for 4 weeks. In the first two weeks, first group, third group, and fourth group were given 5 ml/200 gram BW/day quail egg yolks (G1, G3, and G4), while second group was not given the quail egg yolks (G2). In the second two weeks, third group (G3) were given 5 ml/200 gram BW/day non fermented soymilk, while fourth group (G4) were given 5 ml/200 gram BW/ day fermented soymilk. In the end of the research, MDA levels on liver were measured. ANOVA with bonferroni post-hoc test was used in statistical analyzing. Results: Mean of MDA level (nmol/gr) were 1,96 ± 0,34 for G1; 9,70 ± 0,24 for G2, 4,60 ± 0,27 for G3, and 3,38 ± 0,32 for G4. Statistical analyzing shown that there were significant differences of MDA levels among the groups (P=0.00). Conclusions: Both non fermented and fermented soymilk had the potency to reduce MDA levels (P=0.00), but fermented soymilk can reduce the MDA level on liver better than non-fermented soymilk.

Aims: Dyslipidemia is often associated with the occurrence of fatty liver disease. One of the signs of dyslipidemia is an increase in total cholesterol (TC) levels, while fatty liver disease is characterized by the accumulation of lipids in hepatocytes. The purpose of this research is to know the correlation between TC and lipid fraction area of liver tissue in the dyslipidemic rats (Rattus norvegicus) model after the intervention of probiotic beverage from date palm and kefir milk. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method with post-test only control group design. This research was conducted in the laboratory of physiology, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) for 2 months. This research used male Wistar strain rats aged 1-2 months with BW of 100-150 grams. Rats were divided into three groups. All groups were given fed ad libitum for 2 months. In the first month, the first group and third group were given 5 ml/200 gram BW/day quail egg yolks (G1 and G3), while the second group was not given the quail egg yolks (G2). In the second month, the third group was given 5 ml/200 gram BW/day probiotic beverage from date palm and kefir milk. At the end of the research, rats were terminated. Results: The mean of TC (mg/dL) in G1, G2, and G3 consecutively were 70.91 ± 3.21, 174.71 ± 3.25, and 125.67 ± 4.69. The mean of lipid fraction area (%) in G1, G2, and G3 consecutively were 0.95 ± 0.17, 1.50 ± 1.34, and 1.43 ± 0.53. The result showed there is a normal correlation between TC and lipid fraction area of liver tissue with r 0.541 (normal positive correlation) and no significant difference with P>0.05 (P=0.069). Conclusions: TC and lipid fraction area of liver tissue in dyslipidemic rats after the intervention of probiotic beverage from date palm and kefir milk have a normal correlation with no significant difference.
LMC-based DTC for efficiency improvement of IM drives and their electric vehicle applications
Aygun, Hilmi,Aktas, Mustafa The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2020 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.20 No.5
Electric vehicles (EVs) with induction motor (IM) drives require energy optimization due to their limited energy storage capacity. Among the energy optimization methods currently available, a loss model-based controller (LMC) is a satisfactory technique, since it converges rapidly to an optimal operating point. Some of the simplifications applied to LMCs, such as neglecting the core loss and leakage inductances, affect IM drive performance negatively in terms of loss minimization. To overcome this problem, this paper presents an efficient LMC combined with direct torque control (DTC). The proposed method is based on the idea that the magnetizing current is much higher than the core loss current. Using the sum of the stator current and the rotor current instead of the magnetizing current, modelling the losses is simplified and the optimal stator flux is determined easily. A simulation study is carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme with an EV application during an FTP-75 urban driving cycle. A prototype 3 kW IM drive with a TMS320F28335 digital signal processor (DSP) is built to validate the simulation results. A significant efficiency improvement is obtained at low loads. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DTC improves efficiency and decreases torque ripple.

This study aims to determine the main tidal parameters and the regional tidal model in the south-west coasts of Turkey using the least-squares harmonic estimation method. For this purpose, the sea level data were analyzed and compared to the tides that affect sea level based on the tidal model using the tide gauge station and satellite altimetry data. High-Frequency tide gauge data were obtained from the TUDES (Turkish National Sea Level Monitoring System) data archive and multi-mission satellite altimetry data were achieved from the AVISO data archive. The tidal components of ten tide gauge stations distributed in the south-west coast of Turkey were computed between the period 1998 – 2018. The results were compared with DTU10 and FES2014b global tide models and regional X-TRACK tidal constants (for Mediterranean). It was found that the differences of the global and regional model solutions were less than 1.3 cm for the main tide constituents (semidiurnal: M2, S2 and diurnal: K1, O1). Moreover, a regional tidal model for Turkey’s south-west coast was determinedfrom tide gauge stations and satellite altimetry. The results indicated that the difference between the two solutions was about 0.8 cm.
