Recently, researches of artificial arms and pointing devices using Electro Myo Gram(EMG) have been actively done. However, EMG is usually measured from a part with comparatively big muscular fibers such as arms and shoulders. Therefore, if we can recognize wrist motions using EMG which was measured from the wrist, the range of application will extend further more. However, when we use the wrist EMG, there are problems that the individual difference is large and its repeatability is low and soon. In this paper, we aim the construction of wrist EMG recognition system that is robust to these problems.

Recycling on vacation: Does pro-environmental behavior change when consumers travel?

The existing literature on recycling behavior suggests social and convenience factors are positively associated with recycling behavior. Less is known about how environmental values, environmental self-efficacy, attitudes toward recycling, and attitudes toward recycling effort affect recycling frequency and behavior. Further, recycling behavior is often studied when consumers are at home; behavior may change when consumers are on vacation. Therefore, this article examines understudied attitudinal variables that may be related to recycling behavior using self-report data about recycling from both residents and people on vacation. The study suggests attitudinal variables affect recycling behaviors, and replicates previous findings that people are less likely to recycle when they are on vacation. People who recycle at home may abandon recycling practices on vacation, even if they believe they can make a difference and have strong environment attitudes. The article concludes with suggestions to improve recycling behaviors for consumers when they are at home and when they are tourists.

Adult pancreatoblastoma: A rare malignant tumor of the pancreas

Pancreatoblastoma (PB) is a rare malignant tumor in adults. It has an overall incidence of 0.004 per 100,000 inhabitants. Its diagnosis with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is difficult due to multiple differentiation lines present on PB that overlap with other tumors. A 76-year-old male patient presented with jaundice, weight loss of 10 kg in 6 months, and appetite loss. Abdominal computed tomography scan showed a tumor in the pancreas head. Transendoscopic ultrasound with FNA biopsy revealed a malignant epithelial neoplasia compatible with PB with immunohistochemistry CK19 (+), P63(+), synaptophysin (–), and Ki67 50%. The patient underwent surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy. Currently, the patient is in follow-up with the latest imaging showing no evidence of disease at 32 months after his initial diagnosis. PB is an uncommon malignant neoplasia with an aggressive behavior. Its diagnostic and therapeutic protocols are unclear. Its preoperative diagnosis may be difficult since its imaging features and serological markers are non-specific. However, FNA may be useful in some situations. Surgical resection is currently the recommended treatment that is associated with the best long-term survival.

Approximate Analytical Solutions of the Klein-Gordon Equation with an Exponential-type Potential

The approximate analytical bound and scattering state of the Klein-Gordon equation in Ddimensions for an arbitrary l-state for a seven-parameter exponential-type potential is presented. We obtain the bound-state solutions by using the supersymmetry quantum mechanics method, and the normalized wave function and the scattering phase-shift factors are determined by using the properties of the partial-wave analysis technique. Special cases of the seven-parameter exponentialtype potential are discussed in detail.

Being inclusive means being accessible: Problems with digital media for visually impaired consumers

Over two billion people worldwide and over seven million people in the United States have severe to moderate visual impairment. People with visual impairments rely on inclusive design, which includes alternative text (alt text) to interpret messages, images, and videos digitally. Alt text has many nuances leading to numerous technical inaccuracies and/or inaccurate interpretations of the media. Around the world, the pandemic altered how people conducted simple tasks and interrupted in-person opportunities. It has forced many consumers to work, study, and shop online – creating a large shift to digital experiences. Digital media, including social media platforms and websites, became a major source of information and the gateway to e-commerce. Unfortunately, many consumers with visual impairments who are vulnerable were excluded and unable to learn about products, services, and opportunities due to the lack of accessibility features available and inclusive design. This study explores the difficulties marketing practitioners experience incorporating alt text, thus limiting accessibility and inclusion for vulnerable consumers, specifically visually impaired users. Findings from the current study examining the accuracy of alt text in social media posts indicate that over 95% of the social media posts examined were not inclusive due to either a lack of or inaccurate accessibility usage.

아동인권교육이 자기존중 및 타인존중에 미치는 영향

한 개인이 갖는 인권에 대한 책무는, 자신의 인간으로서의 가치와 권리를 존중하는 것과 타인의 인간으로서의 가치와 권리를 존중하는 것, 두 측면을 포함한다. 따라서 본 연구는 교육의 목표와 체계를 갖춘 형식적 인권교육과 환경 속에서 존중받는 경험을 통한 잠재적 인권교육이 아동의 자기존중과 타인존중에 미치는 영향에 대해 Bronfenbrenner의 생태학적 체계이론의 관점에서 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 연구는 ‘2020년 전남학생인권 실태조사’에 참여한 초, 중, 고등학생 1,828명의 자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 분산분석의 결과, 개인체계의 경우, 성별에 따라 타인존중에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 미시체계의 경우, 형식적 인권교육은 타인존중에, 잠재적 인권교육은 자기존중과 타인존중에 모두에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 잠재적 인권교육의 경우 그 효과의 크기가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 자기 존중에 대해 발달단계와 형식적 인권교육의 상호작용 효과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 아동의 건강한 자아존중감 발달과 타인존중 향상을 위한 생태학적 체계이론에 기반한 인권교육 방안 마련의 필요성이 제안되었다. Individuals’ responsibility for human rights include two aspects: respecting one’s own values and rights as human beings, and respecting the values and rights of others as human beings. This study investigated the effects of the formal and the implicit education for child rights on school-aged children’s self-esteem and respect for others, from the perspective of Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological systems theory. We used the data of Jeollanam-do Province Survey on the Rights of Students in 2020, from which 1,828 students’ responses were used for data analysis. The results of ANOVA showed that regarding the ontological-system, there was a significant gender difference in respect for others. In micro-systems, the implicit education had a significant effect on both self-esteem and respect for others. The effect sizes of the implicit education were large. There was a significant interaction between the effects of the formal education between developmental stage on self-esteem. These findings suggested the need for planning child rights education based on bioecological systems theory to develop children's healthy self-esteem and respect for others

여성은 ‘남성’이 될 수 있다: 나이지리아 남동부 지역 은스카(Nsukka) 이그보족(Igbo)의 의식(儀式)과 양성 평등

성 불평등을 연구하는 학자들은 성 평등을 도울 수 있는메커니즘으로서 의식을 무시하는 경향이 있다. 심지어 의식이 성별간의 평등 격차를 줄이는데 있어 가장 중요한 것임이 명백할 때조차도 말이다. 이그보족(Igbo)에서 기본적으로 남성 지배적인 화신(incarnate beings) 제도를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 의식이 어떻게 여성을역량강화하여 남성과 동등한 지위를 획득하도록 하며 그러한 관습에적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 돕는지 설명한다. 여성이 사회에어떻게 받아들여지는지, 자연, 그리고 의식의 의미 겸 본질에 대한의문 등을 제기할 것이다. 이 논문은 의식을 거친 여성의 구두인터뷰, 참가자 관찰, 영상물, 그리고 사진을 사용하여 의식이 양성평등을 이루는 데 있어 강력한 힘을 갖고 있다고 주장한다. 본논문은 의식의 논리를 설명하고 이그보(Igbo) 사회의 무형유산이어떻게 성 불평등 격차를 해소하는 데 도움이 되는지를 밝히는 것을목적으로 한다.

A woman can become a 'man': Rituals and gender equality among the Nsukka lgbo of south -eastern Nigeria

Scholars of gender inequality tend to neglect ritual as a mechanism that can aid gender equality ¬– even when it is obvious that rituals are cardinal in bridging the equality gap between genders. Basing its argument on the incarnate being institution among the Igbo, an essentially male-dominated institution, this study explains how rituals empower women to attain equal status with men and help them to participate actively in the institution. Questions to address include how women are admitted into the society, nature and meaning-cum-essence of the rituals. Using oral interviews, participant observation, video clips and photographs of women who underwent rituals, this paper argues that ritual is a potent force in the attainment of gender equality. This paper aims to help elucidate the logic of the rituals and bring to the fore how the intangible heritage of an Igbo society helps bridge the gender inequality gap.
