      • 전도성 Nylon 6/Polypyrrole복합체의 제조 및 그 전기적 성질

        Electrically conducting nylon 6/polypyrrole composite films and fabrics have been prepared by polymerizing pyrrole vapor in nylon 6 matrix containing cupric chloride as an oxidizing agent. After polymerization of pyrrole for 30 min, the conductivities of composites reach as high as 10^-3∼10^-2 S/cm depending on the content of oxidizing agent. The stability of conductivity to ambient air exposure is excellent ; there occurs little change in conductivity on exposing the composites to ambient air for one month. The nylon 6 composite fabrics containing 14∼25 wt.% of polypyrrole show an excellent antistatic properties.

        MVC 모델과 이벤트 구동 전송망 하이브리드 처방전달시스템 개발

        For prompt delivery of hospital business information, order communication system needs to search databases frequently, which causes network and database server overload. MVC pattern order communication systems are not suitable for direct information exchanges among departments because all the data must be routed via their controller. We proposed a hybrid order communication system that combines an MVC pattern order communication system and a point-to-point event-driven network using web transmission methods. While the database search time for realtime updating event information increases depending on the number of receipted patients and clients, point-to-point event-driven networking updates information without database searches. And push data transmission amounts when comet and websocket are used, are measured and the more effective transmission method is chosen to implement the point-to-point event-driven network for the hybrid order communication system. As a consequence, the hybrid order communication system can greatly reduce both network load and database search.

        위암에서 종양 크기의 임상적 의의

        배경 및 목적 : 현재까지 위암의 예후를 결정하는 가장 중요한 인자는 종양의 침윤 깊이와 림프절 전이여부 이지만 이밖에 종양크기가 예후를 결정한다는 보고가 있다. 또한 최근 조기위암에서 내시경적 절제술의 빈도가 증가하고 있는데, 이에 대한 적응 증을 결정하는데 종양 크기가 중요한 요소가 되고 있다. 이에 저자들은 위암에서 종양 크기의 예후적 중요성 및 림프절 전이와의 관련성에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 1992년부터 2002년까지 고려대학교 병원에서 근치절제술을 시행 받은 위암 1기에서 3기까지의 928명의 환자를 대상으로 후향적으로 연구하였다. 다변량 위험도 비교분석의 결과로 예후에 영향을 미치는 종양 크기의 기준 값을 구하였고 이를 기준으로 두 군으로 나누어 임상병리학적 인자와의 관련성 및 예후적 의의에 대하여 알아보았다. 또한 림프절 전이 여부에 영향을 미치는 종양 크기의 기준 값을 ROC curve 를 사용하여 전체 및 각 종양 병기(pT)에 대하여 알아보았다. 결과 : 다 변량 위험도 분석상 예후에 영향을 미치는 종양 크기의 기준 값은 7 cm 이었으며 이를 기준으로 두 군으로 나누어 임상 병리학적 특성을 비교한 결과 종양의 위치, 침윤 깊이, 림프절 전이 및 세포 분화도 에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 다 변량 생존 분석 결과 나이, 침윤 깊이, 종양 크기 및 림프절 전이가 독립적으로 유의한 예후인자였다. 종양크기와 림프절 전이와의 관련성에서는 전체 환자군 및 종양 병기 1기(pT1), 3기(pT3)에서 유의하였으며, 이를 결정하는 기준 값은 전체 환자군 3.3 cm, 종양 병기 1기 1.5 cm, 종양 병기 3기 6 cm이었다. 결론 : 위암에서 종양 크기는 의미 있는 예후 인자이며 림프절 전이 여부를 결정하는데 중요한 인자이다. 따라서 조기위암에서 내시경적 절제술 시행 여부 및 진행성 위암에서 향후 치료 방침을 결정하는데 있어서 참고 자료가 될 수 있을 것이다. Purpose: The objectives of this study were to investigate the impact of the tumor size on survival of gastric cancer patients who underwent curative resection and to evaluate relationships between tumor size and lymph node metastasis Materials and Methods: We retrospectively studied 928 gastric cancer patients who underwent curative resection at Korea University Medical Center from 1992 to 2002. The cut-off value of tumor size was decied as the smallest value that showed significantly survival difference by COX proportional hazard model. The clinicopathological factors associated with tumor size were analyzed by using univatiate and multivariate analyses. And ROC curves were applied to measure cut-off value of tumor size that impact on lymph node metastasis. Results: In COX proportional hazard model , the cut-off value of tumor size was 7cm that impact on prognosis. The tumor location, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, and cell differenciation were significantly different according to the tumor size. The Age, depth of invasion, tumor size and lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors by using multivariate analyses. In Releavance between the tumor size and lymph node metastasis, there were significant difference stage I, III, and whole patients group. And the each cut-off values were 1.5cm, 6cm, and 3.3cm Conclusion: Tumor size was significant prognostic factor and important predictive value for lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer. So tumor size will useful parameter to perform EMR in early gastric cancer or to plan further management of advanced gastric cancer.

      • 변형 추출법을 이용한 Salicornia herbacea L. 추출물의 변비에 미치는 영향 연구

        Background : Constipation is can refer to bowel movements that are rare or hard for pass. Constipation is common symptom in current people and the treatment of constipation focused on the use of medicines or physical intervention. The aim of this study are investigates the effects of modified-extracts of Salicornia herbacea (S. herbacea) L. on constipation model. Methods and Results : To investigate the effect of these extracts on constipation model with Sprague-Dawley rats by loperamide administration, we orally administered various dosage of modified-extracts of S. herbacea. L. Then, we checked constipation-related parameters such as fecal number, colon weight, colonic transmit length, colon length as compared to the controls and ameliorated in a dose dependent manner. The results indicated that modified-extracts of S. herbacea. L. was ameliorated constipation in SD rat model. Conclusion : Based on the results, modified-extracts of S. herbacea L. and its many ingredients were considered to have effects on constipation.

        Correlation between the Severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Heart Rate Variability Indices

        <P>The risk of cardiovascular disease is known to be increased in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). Its mechanism can be explained by the observation that the sympathetic tone increases due to repetitive apneas accompanied by hypoxias and arousals during sleep. Heart rate variability (HRV) representing cardiac autonomic function is mediated by respiratory sinus arrhythmia, baroreflex-related fluctuation, and thermoregulation-related fluctuation. We evaluated the heart rate variability of OSAS patients during night to assess their relationship with the severity of the symptoms. We studied overnight polysomnographies of 59 male untreated OSAS patients with moderate to severe symptoms (mean age 45.4± 11.7 yr, apnea-hypopnea index [AHI]=43.2±23.4 events per hour, and AHI >15). Moderate (mean age 47.1±9.4 yr, AHI=15-30, n=22) and severe (mean age 44.5±12.9 yr, AHI >30, n=37) OSAS patients were compared for the indices derived from time and frequency domain analysis of HRV, AHI, oxygen desaturation event index (ODI), arousal index (ArI), and sleep parameters. As a result, the severe OSAS group showed higher mean powers of total frequency (TF) (<I>p</I>=0.012), very low frequency (VLF) (<I>p</I>= 0.038), and low frequency (LF) (<I>p</I>=0.002) than the moderate OSAS group. The LF/HF ratio (<I>p</I>=0.005) was higher in the severe group compared to that of the moderate group. On the time domain analysis, the HRV triangular index (<I>p</I>=0.026) of severe OSAS group was significantly higher. AHI was correlated best with the LF/HF ratio (r<SUB>p</SUB>=0.610, <I>p</I><0.001) of all the HRV indices. According to the results, the frequency domain indices tended to reveal the difference between the groups better than time domain indices. Especially the LF/HF ratio was thought to be the most useful parameter to estimate the degree of AHI in OSAS patients.</P>

        잠자리 유형 모델의 앞ㆍ뒤 날개 위상차에 대한 공력연구

        비정상 공기력 측정이 두 쌍의 날개를 갖는 잠자리 유형 모델의 위상차에 따른 효과를 조사하기 위하여 수행되었다 잠자리 유형 모델의 플런징 운동에 의하여 발생된 공기역학 적인 힘을 측정하기 위하여 로드셀을 사용하였다. 본 잠자리 유형 모델은 실제 잠자리와 동역학적으로 상사하며,앞ㆍ 뒤날개는 각각 0˚의 10˚의 붙임각(incidence angle)을 가지고 있다. 다른 실험 조건은 다음과 같다. 자유류의 속도는 1.6 m/sec이고, 이와 관련된 시위 레이놀즈수 2.88x10이며, 앞 ㆍ 뒤날개의 위상차는 각각 0˚,90˚,180˚, 그리고 270˚이다. 잠자리 유형 날개의 한 주기 동안 공기역학적 계수의 변화가 제시되었다. 연구 결과는 잠자리 유형 모델의 양력은 앞 ㆍ 뒤날개가 downstroke 운동을 수행할 때 발생되며, 뒷날개가 downstroke 운동과정을 수행하면 양력 발생과 함께 항력도 발생한다는 것을 보여준다. Unsteady aerodynamic force measurements were carried out in order to investigate the effects of phase difference of a dragonfly-type model with two pairs of wing. A load-cell was employed to measure the aerodynamic force generated by a plunging motion of the dragonfly-type model. The dragonfly-type model has a dynamic similarity with real one, and incidence angles of fore- and hind-wing are 0˚ and 10˚, respectively. Other experimental conditions are as follows: The freestream velocity was 1.6 m/sec and corresponding chord Reynolds number was 2.88×10³, and phase differences of fore- and hind-wing were 0˚, 90˚, 180˚ and 270˚. The variation of aerodynamic coefficients during one cycle of the wing motion is presented. Results show that the lift is generated during the downstroke motion and the drag generated during the hind-wing's downstroke motion with the lift generation.

        Blood Eicosapentaenoic Acid and Docosahexaenoic Acid as Predictors of All-Cause Mortality in Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction

        <P><B><I>Background:</I></B> Although ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are known to have beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases, their prognostic value has not been studied prospectively in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). <B><I>Methods and Results:</I></B> The plasma levels of phospholipids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (% of total fatty acids), were measured in 508 patients (365 males; mean age, 63 years) with AMI. Clinical and biomarker predictors of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality were identified by stepwise Cox regression model. During a mean follow-up of 16.1 months, 36 (7.1%) patients died. After controlling for confounding variables, age (hazard ratio (HR): 1.09, P<0.001), renal insufficiency (HR: 2.84, P=0.01) and EPA level (HR: 0.29, P=0.004) were identified as independent predictors of all cause-mortality. When stratified by gender, age (HR: 1.08, P=0.001) and renal insufficiency (HR: 4.49, P=0.003) were predictors of all-cause-mortality in males, whereas EPA level (HR: 0.18, P=0.009) and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor use (HR: 0.24, P=0.03) were identified as predictive of all-cause-mortality in females. <B><I>Conclusions:</I></B> Lower plasma level of EPA, but not DHA, was an independent predictor for all-cause-mortality in patients with AMI, but this relationship was significant only in female patients.
