This study centers on the dynamics of psychology theory. Drawing upon Heesoon Cho's life, we aim to extract and analyze sand story counseling in her personal and academic experiences. Additionally, we aim to investigate her process of adapting sand play techniques into Korean sand story counseling and explore how this adaptation of sandplay, along with its dissemination, contributed to early childhood development, counseling, and psychological exploratory behaviors in Korea. To avoid bias, we adopted a life history method, including collaborative interviews and triangulation. The results reflected Cho’s life chronologically, describing significant events in her life. Using existing Western theories, Cho transformed and acculturated the existing sandplay technique into sand story counseling in the Korean context. Cho observed significant positive outcomes through sand story counseling. Sand story counseling theory significantly contributed to professional counseling. This study strongly supports future culture-fit counseling research in Korea, as opposed to adopting Western theories.

Jujube is a deciduous broad-leaved tree belonging to the buckthorn family(Rhamnaceae) and is widelycultivated in Southeast Asia and Southeast Europe, including Korea and China and mainly consumedmedicinal herbs or dried jujube. In recent years, consumption of fresh fruits has increased, and organicorchard has also increased. The purpose of this study was to investigate soil chemical changes and growthcharacteristics of jujube when replacing the total amount of nitrogen fertilizer with organic matter in rainshelter house. In March 2017, after soil testing, bark, animal compost, rice bran, oil cake and chemicalfertilizers (NPK) were treated based on nitrogen content. After treatment of organic materials, by March 2020,the pH increased and organic matter, phosphoric acid and cation content in soil increased. After harvest ofjujube, the yield of compost treatment was the highest and the NPK treatment was the lowest. The length,hardness and weight of fruit were greater in the NPK treatment, but the diameter and sugar content were notsignificantly different from the organic material treatments except rice bran. Therefore, when the cultivationof the jujube, nitrogen fertilizer was totally replaced with organic material, there was the effect of improvingsoil chemistry, such as an increase in the organic content of the jujube orchard and an increase in the yield ofjujube but no clear effect on fruit quality.

Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) RTA transcription factor is recruited to its responsive elements through interaction with RBP-Jк that is a downstream transcription factor of the Notch signaling pathway that is important in development and cell fate determination. This suggests that KSHV RTA mimics cellular Notch signal transduction to activate viral lytic gene expression. Here, I demonstrated that unlike other B lymphoma cells, KSHV-infected primary effusion lymphoma BCBL1 cells displayed the constitutive activation of ligand-mediated Notch signal transduction, evidenced by the Jagged ligand expression and the complete proteolytic process of Notch receptor I. In order to investigate the effect of Notch signal transduction on KSHV gene expression, human Notch intracellular (hNIC) domain that constitutively activates RBP-Jк transcription factor activity was expressed in BCBL1 cells, TRExBCBL1-hNIC, in a tetracycline inducible manner. Gene expression profiling showed that like RTA, hNIC robustly induced expression of a number of viral genes including K5 immune modulatory gene resulting in downregulation of MHC I and CD54 surface expression. Finally, the genetic analysis of KSHV genome demonstrated that the hNIC-mediated expression of K5 during viral latency consequently conferred the downregulation of MHC I and CD54 surface expression. These results indicate that cellular Notch signal transduction provides a novel expression profiling of KSHV immune deregulatory gene that consequently confers the escape of host immune surveillance during viral latency.
Effect of Insulin on the Regulation of Na/K/Cl Cotransporter (NKCC2) in HEK293 Cells

Insulin is one of the regulators involved in Na^+ reabsorption in kidney. The Na^+ channel and Na/K/2CI cotransporter (NKCC2) system are primarily considered as the possible routes for Na^+ movement into the cell. The purpose of this stud is to understand the regulation of NKCC2 as a candidate for Na^+ movement across the kidney cell in response to insulin. In order to clarify the role of the insulin in human embryonic kidney cell line, HEK293, the cells were exposed to the different circumstances (isotonic, hypertonic), and then cell volume, expression of NKCC2 mRNA, intracellular Ca^2+ and functional activity of the cotransporter using pH dye, and the intracellular Ca^2+ level were analyzed in each condition. The cell volume of HEK293 which was shrunken by hypertonic stress recovered to nearly original state by the addition of 1μM insulin. It is obvious that insulin prevented cell shrinkage by operating the regulatory volume increase (RVI) machinery of the cell. However, insulin-induced RVI was blocked by the treatment of 10μM bumetanide. Furthermore, NKCC2 mRNA was expressed remarkably in the presence of 1μM insulin. Such results might suggest that the presence of 1μM insulin. Such results might suggest that the volume regulation of HEK293 cell showed the typical change in intracellular Ca^2+ concentration in response to carbachol as seen in other normal cells. However, insulin did not induce the change of intracellular calcium level of the HEK293 cell. Taken all together, these findings suggest that the insulin stimulates the sodium transport of HEK293 cell through the upregulation of NKCC2 under the hypertonic condition.
울분, 정당한 세상에 대한 믿음(BJW-self), 우울의 관계: 내적 통제성에 의한 조절된 매개효과

본 연구는 울분과 우울의 관계에서 정당한 세상에 대한 믿음(BJW-self)을 통한 내적 통제성의 조절된 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구대상자는 경기도 소재 대학교에 재학 중인 만 18~25세 대학생 254명이었다. 한국판 울분장애 척도(Standardization of the Korean Version of the Posttraumatic Embitterment Disorder Self-Rating Scale), 정당한 세상에 대한 믿음 척도(Belief in a Just World Scale: K-BJWS), 통제 소재(Internality, Powerful others, and Chance: IPC), 한국판 PHQ-9를 사용하여 온라인으로 설문을 실시하고, 수집한 자료들은 SPSS 22와 SPSS Macro를 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 울분은 우울에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 울분과 우울과의 관계에서 BJW-self의 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, BJW-self와 우울과의 관계를 내적 통제성이 조절하였다. 넷째, 울분과우울 간의 관계에 대한 BJW-self의 매개효과가 내적 통제성에 의해 조절되는 것으로 나타났는데, 내적 통제성이 낮은 경우에만 울분이 BJW-self를 거쳐 우울로 이르는 경로가 유의미하였다. 본 연구는 울분, BJW-self, 우울의 관계를 확인하였고, 내적 통제성이 BJW-self가 우울에 미치는 영향을 조절한다는 점을확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의와 한계 및 개입 방안에 대해 논의하였다. This study examined the moderated mediation effect of internal locus of control through BJW-self on the relationship between embitterment and depression. Participants were 254 students aged 18-24 years old who were enrolled in a university located in Gyeonggi. All subjects completed self-assessment inventories about embitterment(Standardization of the Korean Version of the Posttraumatic Embitterment Disorder Self-Rating Scale), BJW(Belief in a Just World Scale: K-BJWS), locus of control(Internality, Powerful others, and Chance: IPC) and depression(PHQ-9). Data collected through online surveys were analyzed by SPSS macro. The results of this study are as follows. First, embitterment has a significant effect on depression. Second, BJW-self mediated the relationship between embitterment and depression Third, the moderation effect of internal locus of control on the relationship between BJW-self and depression was found. Forth, BJW-self mediated the relationship between embitterment and depression, and this mediation was moderated by internal locus of control. moderated mediation effect of internal locus of control was significant only in low locus of control group. These findings suggest that locus of control seems to be an effective intervention for depression and changed cognitive belief caused by embitterment. Based on these findings, the limitations and implication of the study were discussed.
