        待遇コミュニケーションの観点を意識したビジネス日本語科目に関する考察 - 場面認識と自己内省を中心に -

        本稿では、日本国内におけるビジネス日本語教育がこれまでどのように進められてきたかを概観した上で、「待遇コミュニケーション教育」の観点を意識した授業実践について報告し、ねらいにあわせて行った工夫や、今後のビジネス日本語教育に向けての可能性を示した。 「ビジネス日本語」の定義や領域は科目担当者や教育機関によって違いが見られるものの、近年のビジネス日本語教育においては、「人間形成」という観点が重視されてきている。また、ビジネス日本語関連の授業で実際に扱われている内容としては、敬語を含む「待遇表現」が重要項目であることがわかった。ビジネス日本語教育という教育分野が確立していくにあたり、「人間形成」と「待遇表現」は核心的な位置づけにあると言える。 授業実践例として、「場面認識の重要性の気づきを促す」こと、また「自分の待遇コミュニケーション観を意識させる」ことをねらいとして組み立てた授業を報告した。一つ目のねらいに対しては、授業開始時に、待遇コミュニケーションの理論で示される5つの要素の連動を明示的に示し、授業では「場面の把握」を必須のこととして繰り返し扱うようにした。二つ目のねらいに対しては、学習者自身の待遇コミュニケーション観の意識化を促す活動を積極的に取り入れるようにした。学習者自身が自分の「待遇コミュニケーション観」を見つめながらビジネス日本語を習得することで、ビジネス日本語教育の理念に合致した形で、自分は日本語でどのようなコミュニケーションを行う人になりたいのかという主体性を重視した教育が行える可能性を示した。 Based on an overview of how ‘business Japanese’ education has developed in the past, this paper reports on a classroom practice that takes the Taigu communication viewpoint into consideration. Then this paper shows practical approaches to the goals and possibilities of future applications in business Japanese education. In recent years, the concept of ‘developing each human being holistically’ has been emphasized. There has also been a trend toward teaching actual business-related content in Japanese for classrooms designed for specific purposes. A key topic is Taigu expressions, including keigo. In order to establish ‘business Japanese’ as its own specific educational field, emphasis on unique focal points such as the ‘holistic development of the human being’ and ‘Taigu expressions’ is considered a way to show business Japanese in the most innovative light. To illustrate this point, this study reports on examples of two actual lessons. The first sample was aimed to ‘stimulate the awareness of the importance of situational recognition’ among students. At the beginning of this lesson, the author of this paper showed how five elements of Taigu communication theory interacted with one another demonstratively. During this lesson, the author repeated the idea of ‘grasping situations’ as a required element. The goal of the second sample was for students ‘to pay attention to their own Taigu communication values.’ The author tried to introduce activities related to this goal in various proactive ways. This study demonstrates the possibility of providing education that places value on each student’s identity. This means allowing each student to become a businessperson who communicates in a way that is true to himself/herself using Japanese.

        Investigating Differences in the Reading Processes of Advanced and Intermediate Readers

        This study investigates the differences between advanced and intermediate readers, focusing on the reading process of Japanese EFL students at the university level. A reading test was conducted among English learners with advanced and intermediate reading skills, with three people in each respective group. Subsequently, interviews were held to determine how the participants had read the English texts. The results of a qualitative analysis of this interview data revealed three differences between the reading processes of the advanced and intermediate readers. The first difference concerned vocabulary size (larger in the advanced group), while the second concerned their knowledge of syntactic structures: the advanced group was sufficiently knowledgeable about sentence structures to understand the material, but the intermediate group was not, and therefore sometimes made mistakes in understanding the sentences. The third difference involved automaticity: the advanced group was able to carry out lower-level reading processing nearly automatically, while the intermediate group could not. These findings indicate that to improve reading skills, it is not only necessary to increase vocabulary size, but to also build up learners’ knowledge of sentence structures.

      • Sound Quality Improvement for Multichannel Audio Watermarking

        The objective this work is to reduce the perceivable noise which is caused by embedding the watermark information. In the method proposed by W.N.Lie (conventional method), the watermark information is embedded by the amplitudes modification in each section. We have proposed the multiple embedding method based on the conventional method. In this method, watermark capacity is increased but the sound quality becomes worse compared with the conventional method. So we focus attention on WSS (Weighted Spectral Slope) distance. WSS distance is one of the objective evaluations and it is close to a value evaluated subjectively. So we aim to improve the sound quality by bringing the watermarked spectral slope close to the original spectral slope.

        Materials Chemical Point of View for Durability Issues in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

        Degradation in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell performance can be ascribed to the following fundamental processes from the materials chemical point of view; that is, diffusion in solids and reaction with gaseous impurities. For SOFC materials, diffusion in solids is usually slow in operation temperatures 800~1000oC. Even at 800oC, however, a few processes are rapid enough to lead to some degradations; namely, Sr diffusion in doped ceria, cation diffusion in cathode materials, diffusion related with metal corrosion, and sintering of nickel anodes. For gaseous impurities, chromium containing vapors are important to know how the chemical stability of cathode materials is related with degradation of performance. For LSM as the most stable cathode among the perovskitetype cathodes, electrochemical reduction reaction of CrO3(g) at the electrochemically active sites is crucial, whereas the rest of the cathodes have the SrCrO4 formation at the point where cathodes meet with the gases, leading to rather complicated processes to the degradations, depending on the amount and distribution of reacted Cr component. These features can be easily generalized to other impurities in air or to the reaction of nickel anodes with gaseous impurities in anode atmosphere.

      • Use of Visual Working Memory in a Manipulative Task

        We investigated the relationship between skill development and the use of prefrontal lobe using nearinfrared spectroscopy (NIRS), a non-invasive method to measure brain activation. Activation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) of the frontal lobe was observed especially in the right hemisphere when a human controlled a joystick and conducted a computerized mirror drawing task. This activation was more evident when the task involved the use of spatial working memory. The concentration of oxy- and total- hemoglobin generally decreased when a participant repeated and acquired the manipulative skill. It can be said that skill acquisition that involves spatial working memory can be certainly measured by activation of the prefrontal lobe using NIRS. These findings suggested that activation of the PFC could be used to assess the skill levels of visuo-memory tasks and provide information about assistance of working memory.
