        KI-180과 KI-188 칼슘조성물이 어린쥐의 성장발육에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 조성물이 성장발육에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 시험기간중 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 성장률과 평균 식이섭취량은 증가하였다. 체장은 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 평균 3.55 mm 더 길었고, 등뼈길이는 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 통계적인 차이는 없었지만 0.5 mm 더 길었다. 대퇴골 무게는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 무거웠으며, 대퇴골길이는 대조군에 비해 각각 평균 0.89, 1.09 mm 더 길었다. 혈당, 총콜레스테롤 및 중성지방 농도는 차이가 없었고, 칼슘농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군 보다 대조군이 유의하게 높았다. 백혈구와 혈소판수는 차이가 없었고, 적혈구, 혈색소 및 헤마토크릿치는 대조군이 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군 보다 통계적으로 높았다. ALP활성은 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 통계적으로 높았고, osteocalcin농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 혈청 testosterone 농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군과 대조군 간에 차이가 없었다. IGF-1과 IGFBP-3 농도는 KI-180 조성물이 대조군 보다 각각 20%, 11% 정도 유의하게 더 높았다. 이상의 결과를 검토할 때 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 조성물은 어린쥐의 성장과 골격의 발달을 촉진시키고, 성장호르몬의 분비능을 양적으로 유도하여 전반적인 성장발육에 유효한 작용이 있는 것으로 사료된다. Herbs have active components that promote the growth rate of both animals and human. The KI-180 and KI-188 calcium food formulae contain Acanthopanacis cortex, Bombysis corpus and hoelen, seaweed calcium, chlorella extract, spirulina, colostrum powder, and other natural and functional components. We evaluated the growth-promoting effects of these formulae by analyzing the weight, femur and backbone, alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin, testosterone, insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1, and IGF binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) of growing rats. Growing rats administered with KI-180 and KI-188 calcium showed the increase of body weight, body length, and femur weight and length of growing rats. In addition, administration of KI-180 and KI-188 calcium increased the alkaline phosphatase activity, the levels of osteocalcin and the growth hormones IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 of growing rats. The impact of KI-180 and KI-188 calcium on the physical development of growing rats suggests that the incorporation of these food formulae in the diets of growing children may promote the physical development.

        A Study on Reimbursement Mechanism and the use for Exporters

        In letter of credit arrangements, the issuing bank nominate a reimbursing bank which serves as a source of funds payment to the beneficiary. The reimbursing bank could be 3rd party bank or the issuing bank itself. In view of working capital requirements, most beneficiary want to get export proceeds in advance through nominated banks and therefore letter of credit usually permit the beneficiary to negotiate drafts, accompanied by required documents, to nominated bank. If the credit is available with the nominated bank, there must be a reimbursement instruction in the credit, because in this method of availability the issuing bank is obliged to reimburse the nominated bank if that bank acts on its nomination There are legal relationship among issuing bank, nominated bank and reimbursing bank with regard to reimbursement activities. Related rules are UCP and URR and UCC (in case of USA). Korean exporters and bankers do not appear to know well the role of reimbursement and usage. 3 cases (court case + ICC Opinion + bad practices) were employed to study the reimbursement mechanism and suggest better usages. The beneficiary is strongly recommended to know the benefit of reimbursement claim from independent reimbursing bank. The benefits include speed payment (thereby saving finance costs) and safe funds (in case of stop payment by the issuing bank right after the proceeds are reimbursed). And further the beneficiary banks (being nominated or claim banks) are also recommended to take advantage of the 3rd party reimbursement in view of the cases illustrated.

      • 비강 및 비인두에 발생한 도립유두종과 편평상피암종의 p53단백 및 세포증식능에 관한 연구

        The inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma are common neoplasia in the sinonasal cavity and nasopharynx, but the incidence of these tumors are very low and the study on the oncogenesis or biological activity of the tumor cells are not well known. This study was designed to evaluate the oncogenic roles of the p53 gene and the proliferative activity of the tumor cells in the inflammatory polyp, inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma. The experiment was carried by the immunohistochemical stains about the p53 protein, PCNA and Ki-67, histochemical stain about the AgNORs. and flow cytometric analysis about the DNA ploidy using the formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues. The frequency of the expression of p53 protein was 0%(0/16 cases) in the inflammatory polyps, 18.8% (3/16 cases) in the inverted papillomas, and 87.5%(14/16 cases) in the squamous cell carcinomas. The labelling index(%) of the PCNA and Ki-67 was 5.3% and 3.3% in the inflammatoy polyps, 29.6% and 25.2% in the inverted papillomas, and 51.9% and 36.8% in the squamous cell carcinoma. The expression of the PCNA and Ki-67 was distributed in the periphery of the tumor islands of the inverted papilloma and was distributed in the both of center and periphery of the tumor islands of the squamous cell carcinoma. The number of nuclear AgNORs was increased in the order of inflammatory polyps (0.96), inverted papillomas(1.34) and squamous cell carcinoma(2.09). The frequency of the DNA aneuploidy was 0%(0/16 cases) in the inflammatory polyps, 18.8%(3/16 cases) in the inverted papillomas. and 12.5%(2/16 cases) in the squamous cell carcinomas. Above results indicates that the changes of the p53 gene and proliferative activity of the tumor cells are involved on the oncogenesis and the biological activity of the inverted papilloma or squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx and sinonasa cavity.

      • Benzyl Isothiocyanate Inhibits Prostate Cancer Development in the Transgenic Adenocarcinoma Mouse Prostate (TRAMP) Model, Which Is Associated with the Induction of Cell Cycle G1 Arrest

        <P>Benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) is a hydrolysis product of glucotropaeolin, a compound found in cruciferous vegetables, and has been shown to have anti-tumor properties. In the present study, we investigated whether BITC inhibits the development of prostate cancer in the transgenic adenocarcinoma mouse prostate (TRAMP) mice. Five-week old, male TRAMP mice and their nontransgenic littermates were gavage-fed with 0, 5, or 10 mg/kg of BITC every day for 19 weeks. The weight of the genitourinary tract increased markedly in TRAMP mice and this increase was suppressed significantly by BITC feeding. H and E staining of the dorsolateral lobes of the prostate demonstrated that well-differentiated carcinoma (WDC) was a predominant feature in the TRAMP mice. The number of lobes with WDC was reduced by BITC feeding while that of lobes with prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia was increased. BITC feeding reduced the number of cells expressing Ki67 (a proliferation marker), cyclin A, cyclin D1, and cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK)2 in the prostatic tissue. <I>In vitro</I> cell culture results revealed that BITC decreased DNA synthesis, as well as CDK2 and CDK4 activity in TRAMP-C2 mouse prostate cancer cells. These results indicate that inhibition of cell cycle progression contributes to the inhibition of prostate cancer development in TRAMP mice treated with BITC.</P>

        장애인생활체육지도자의 코칭행동 구성 요인 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 장애인생활체육지도자의 코칭행동 구성 요인을 분석하는 것이었다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위해 시도 및 시군구 장애인체육회에 근무하는 장애인생활체육지도자 205명을 연구대상자로 선정하였다. 개방형 설문지를 사용하여 장애인 생활체육 지도의 코칭행동 3가지를 기술하도록 하였으며, 설문 결과 총 603개 반응이 나타났다. 설문 응답 내용은 귀납적 내용분석(inductive content analysis)을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 대영역으로 장애와 프로그램 이해(지식), 체육활동 지도와 실행(기술), 바람직한 인성과 태도(태도) 등 3개 요인이 도출되었다. 중영역으로는 대상자 파악, 체육프로그램 개발 및 계획, 전문적지도 능력, 개별화 교육, 지도 외적 요인, 관계 형성, 적극적 태도 등 7개 요인, 소영역으로는 대상자 특성 파악, 개별화된 지도, 소통 등 31개의 요인이 도출되었다. 장애인생활체육지도자들은 체육활동 지도와 실행(기술)을 가장 중요한 코칭행동 요인으로 생각하고 있었으며, 바람직한 인성과 태도(태도)도 코칭행동의 주된 요인으로 인식하고 있었다. 추후 연구에서는 장애인체육 전문가와 생활체육에 참여하는 장애인들이 생각하는 코칭행동 구성 요인을 파악해 볼 필요가 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that constitute the coaching behaviors of the sports leaders for the disabled. To achieve this goal, 205 sports leaders for the disabled who work at the city, county, and district sports associations for the disabled were selected as subjects for the study. An open questionnaire was used to describe the three coaching behaviors of the physical activities for the disabled, and a total of 603 responses were found as a result of the questionnaire. The contents of the survey responses were analyzed using inductive content analysis, and the results are as follows. Three factors were derived: understanding of disability and programs (knowledge), guidance and execution of physical activities (skills), and desirable personality and attitude (attitude) as major areas. In the middle area, 7 factors including subject characteristics identification of participants, physical activity program development and planning, professional guidance ability, individualized education, factors outside of guidance, relationship formation, active attitude, etc., in small areas, 31 factors such as subject characteristics identification, individualized guidance, and communication was derived. It was found that the sports leaders for the disabled regarded physical activity guidance and execution (skill) as the most important factor, and desirable personality and attitude (attitude) were also recognized as the main factors of coaching behavior in physical activity guidance. In future studies, you may need to identify the components of coaching behaviors that are thought of by professionals in disability sports and those with disabilities participating in life sports.

        강소기업의 지속성장을 위한 경영권 승계 철학

        본 사례연구는 창업으로 성공한 창업가(entrepreneur)의 경영권 승계에 대한 철학을 그의 사업 역정을 통하여 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 흔히 경영자(manager)의 눈에는 돈이 안 되는 문제부터 보이지만, 사업가(businessman)의 눈에는 돈이 되는 사업부터 보인다고 한다. 과연 우리나라에 창업 사업가로서 기업가 정신(entrepreneurship)을 잃지 않으면서 한편으로는 경영자로서 '創業보다 어렵다는 守成의 길'을 성공적으로 영위해 온 인물은 얼마나 되는가? 그리고 언젠가는 자신의 사업체를 누군가에게 물려줄 수밖에 없는 상황에서 경영권 승계는 과연 어떻게 이루어지고 있는가? 이에 대한 논의를 위해 본 사례는 코텍 이한구 회장과의 인터뷰를 바탕으로 사업가이자 최고경영자로서 사업과 인생에 대한 관점 및 그의 경영권 승계에 대한 철학을 분석함으로써 강소기업으로 성공한 창업가(entrepreneur)는 물론 대기업의 경영권 승계 관행에 대한 새로운 시사점을 던지고자 한다. The purpose of this case study is to analyze the philosophy of an entrepreneur (CEO and Chairman of Kortek) being appeared in the process of management succession. The 27 years history of a start-up firm introduced in this analysis maneuvered its challenging business based on Chairman Lee's business insights and philosophy since its foundation in 1987. Kortek, as a hidden champion, is the No. 1 in the field of Gaming Video Display Monitor delivering more than 70% of Video Slut Machines in the U.S. market. Compared to the ordinary managers who are in seeking of dysfunctions of daily management and operations, the founder and current CEO and Chairman Han-Gu Lee pursued to catch out the money-making businesses with his talented entrepreneurship. Despite of his unprecedent success as an industrial display monitor maker, recently he has been deliberately considered about the management succession scenarios for the vision of his cherished Kortek to keep as a sustainable company. In this case study, we analyzed the 3 scenarios being evaluated during more than 2 years by Chairman Lee. And as the result and performances after his decision to accept M&A with IDIS Holdings show a sustainable growth, we could extract strong implications not only for the Korean CEOs of hidden champions who have experiences as start-up founder but also other major companies being faced with such an agony in management succession.

        Interrelation of Cyclin D1, Cyclin E, and p27Kip1 Expression on Tissue Arrays of Breast Cancer

        Purpose: To evaluate the clinical impact of the alteredexpression of cell cycle regulators in stage I and II breastcancers.Materials and Methods: The interaction between cyclinD1/E and p27Kip1 expressions were analyzed usingtissue microarray (TMA) technology in 133 breast cancers.Data from the immunohistochemical assays of 3molecules were merged, and analyzed, with a Ki67labeling index of the same tumors.Results: Cyclin D1 was expressed in 72 breast carcinomas(54.1%) and cyclin E in 60 (45.1%) out of the 133breast carcinomas. Expressions of cyclin D1 and cyclinE were inversely related to each other, and significantlyassociated with the estrogen receptor (ER) expressionand differentiation of the breast carcinoma. The expressionof cyclin E was significantly decreased in tumorsexpressing cyclin D1 (p=0.022). There was a trend forcyclin D1 expression to increase in tumors expressingp27Kip1 (p=0.053), but the expression of cyclin E didnot correlate with p27Kip1 expression. The Ki67 labelingindex was markedly increased in tumors expressing cyclinE, whereas it was significantly decreased in the cyclin D1or p27Kip1 expressing-tumors. From survival analysis,cyclin E expression was the only significant variable forthe prediction of poor survival.Conclusion: The abnormal expressions of cell cycleregulatory molecules are prevalent, and interrelated witheach other in breast cancer. Integration of TMA technologyallowed a high-throughput analysis for correlating molecularthe in situ findings, with the clinico-pathologicinformation. Among the three molecules studied, thecyclin E had a prognostic implication for stage I and IIbreast cancer. (Cancer Res Treat. 2002;34:388-393)
