The effect of flow rate, microwave power, and humidity of purge gas on microwave regeneration ofagricultural based activated carbon saturated with toluene and acetone was investigated. To comparewith microwave heating, conductive heating was also employed to follow the effect on adsorptioncapacity, regeneration ratio, desorption rate, time and energy consumption. Desorption rate of constantpower microwave heating was 32.9% per minute, which was 20 and 40 times higher than constanttemperature microwave and conductive heating, respectively. Energy consumption of microwaveheating (constant power) was only 4.5 kJ/g. Adsorption isotherms data can be well fitted with Dubinin–Radushkevich model.
CO2 Adsorption on the B12N12 Nanocage Encapsulated with Alkali Metals: A Density Functional Study
Haiyan Zhu,Qiyan Zhang,Qinfu Zhao,He Zhao,Yifan Feng,Bingbing Suo,Huixian Han,Qi Song,Yawei Li,Wenli Zou,Haiyan Zhu 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2019 NANO Vol.14 No.3
Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been carried out to study the capacity of the B12N12 nanocage encapsulated with alkali metals (Li, Na, K) for the CO2 adsorption and activation. It is found that after encapsulating alkali metals, the alkali metal atoms are closer to one side of clusters instead of exactly lying at the center, and a considerable charge transfers from the inner alkali metal atoms to the B12N12 cage. Besides, the HOMO–LUMO gap (HLG) values of Li@B12N12, Na@B12N12 and K@B12N12 are decreased to about 6 eV, being much smaller than that of the pristine B12N12. Although the geometry structure parameters and the energy differences of M06-2X are slightly different from the ones of ωB97X-D, some identical results of two kinds of functional can be obtained. CO2 can be adsorbed chemically and physically on majority bonds of all the clusters, except for some bonds with large change in bond length and bond indices. The encapsulation of alkali-metal atoms may enhance the physical and chemical adsorption of CO2 on the surface of the clusters, in which Na@B12N12 and K@B12N12 are the most powerful physical and chemical adsorbent for CO2, respectively.
Foreign Ownership and Information Asymmetry
Haiyan Zhou,최종무,Kevin C. K. Lam,Heibatollah Sami 한국증권학회 2013 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.42 No.2
Foreign ownership has two competing effects on information asymmetry. Short term investment horizon, superior information processing capability, controlling positions, and increased agency costs associated with foreign ownership increases information asymmetry, while demand for more disclosure, better accounting and auditing standards, use of international auditors, incentive alignments, long term investment horizon and greater monitoring decreases information asymmetry. In this article, we examine and find a significant and positive impact of foreign ownership on information asymmetry measured by bid-ask spread in China. On balance, foreign equity investors tend to enhance their informational advantages more than improving the general informational environments in local markets. These results have implications for transparency and disclosure policies as well as privatization in emerging markets.
Mapping the Influence of Project Management on Project Cost
Haiyan Jin,Liyin Shen,Zheng Wang 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.9
This paper develops a framework to map the influence of Project Management (PM) attributes on project cost and then tests these relationships between PM attributes and project cost on industrial construction projects. PM attributes are identified and classified into five areas: Human Resource Management (HRM), function of PM, partnering and supply chain, design efficiency, and quality. The framework model is tested on survey data from member companies of the Construction Industry Institute (CII) using the Structural Equation Modeling method. The results reveal that quality, function of PM, and HRM can have a significant positive impact on project cost. Quality is found to have the most direct and greatest impact on project cost efficiency among PM attributes. The goal of this statistical study is to demonstrate the paths and strengths of the effects of PM attributes on project cost.
Prokaryotic expression and protein function of Brassica napus PGIP2 and its genetic transformation

Sclerotinia rot is a fungal disease caused bySclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary, which has severelyreduced rapeseed production worldwide. Polygalacturonase-inhibiting proteins (PIGPs) inhibit theactivity of polygalacturonases, which are secreted duringfungal infection in plants. This study investigated thefunction of the polygalacturonase-inhibitor gene 2 (PGIP2)in sclerotinia rot resistance. The PGIP2 was successfullyexpressed in a prokaryotic system, and recombinant PGIP2protein, purified after enterokinase treatment to remove tagpeptide, inhibited S. sclerotiorum PG activity in vitro. PGIP2 was overexpressed in the susceptible Brassica napuscultivar 98c40 via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. After inoculation with S. sclerotiorum mycelia, thetransgenic rapeseed demonstrated greatly reduced leafdamage, as compared with their non-transgenic plants. Therefore, the PGIP2 encodes a functional protein andwould be a candidate gene for enhancing Sclerotinia rotresistance.

Prostacyclin (PGI2) plays key roles in shaping the immune microenvironment and modulating vasodilation, whereas its contribution to endometriosis (EMs) remains largely unclear. Our study suggested that prostacyclin synthase (PTGIS)-dependent PGI2 signaling was significantly activated in EMs, which was involved in the hypoxic microenvironment of ectopic lesions and deficient methylation status of the PTGIS promoter. Notably, in vitro assays, hypoxia promoted PTGIS expression through DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1)-mediated DNA methylation deficiency in endometrial stromal cells (ESCs); PTGIS overexpression enhanced the adhesive ability of ESCs and led to elevated PGI2 production, and PGI2 triggered CD16− (encoded by FCGR3, Fc fragment of IgG receptor IIIa) natural killer (NK)-cell differentiation through PGI2 receptor (IP, PTGIR) in an ESC/NK-cell coculture system. Our rodent model experiment suggested that treatment with the PGI2 analog iloprost and adoptive transfer of fcgr3 knockout (fcgr3−/−) NK cells aggravated EMs progression and that genetic ablation of ptgis (ptgis−/−) in ectopic lesions and treatment with the PTGIR antagonist RO1138452 partially rescued this outcome. Thus, our findings identified the contribution of PGI2 to EMs progression via enhancement of the adhesive ability of ESCs and inhibition of the activity of NK cells. We hypothesized that PGI2 is a target for EMs intervention and provide a rationale for studying pharmacological PTGIR inhibition and PTGIS genetic depletion therapies as therapeutic strategies for EMs.
Solving a Class of Generalized Semi-Infinite Programming via Augmented Lagrangians
Haiyan Zhang,Fang Liu,Changyu Wang 한국전산응용수학회 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.1
Under certain conditions, we use augmented Lagrangians to transform a class of generalized semi-infinite min-max problems into common semi-infinite min-max problems, with the same set of local and global solutions. We give two conditions for the transformation. One is a necessary and sufficient condition, the other is a sufficient condition which can be verified easily in practice. From the transformation, we obtain a new first-order optimality condition for this class of generalized semi-infinite min-max problems.
