Administrative factors permeate the Chinese financial market. This study provides an insight into the emerging government-dominated IPO market. Using up-to-date data from 520 listed firms and 140 rejected IPO applicants in the Chinese stock market over 2006 to 2012, this study, based on prior analytical framework (Bhattacharya et al., 2010; Hearn, 2013), includes some IPO-related administrative factors into its multivariate regression model. It aims to examine, to some degree, these determinants affect the Chinese IPO examination mechanism. It suggests that the IPO probability is determined by selected administrative factors that are ultimately decided by the authorities, once the IPO applicants satisfy the minimum financial requirements. Those applicants with strong government background are more likely to pass the IPO examination.

Cellulose was isolated from wheat straw by the combined pretreatment including dilute acid hydrolysis, ethanolextraction, and alkaline H2O2 delignification. The effects of varying the parameters on carboxymethylation on isolatedcellulose were investigated. Furthermore, the chemical structure of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) prepared from wheatstraw was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopeanalysis. The isolated cellulose is mainly composed of cellulose without hemicellulose and with minors of lignin and ash. The optimal conditions for carboxymethylation were base concentration, 20 %; reaction temperature, 70 oC; reaction time,2 h; mass ratio of etherifying agent to cellulose, 1.75. Under the optimized conditions, CMC with high degree of substitution(0.88) and low viscosity (18 mPa·s) was synthesized. Chemical structural characterization showed the feasibility of thepreparation of CMC from wheat straw. The constituents of wheat straw would be maximally utilized by the proposed method.

The present study was to determine the effects of salinity on the growth and nutrient bioextraction abilities ofGracilaria and Ulva species, and to determine if these seaweeds can be used for nutrient bioextraction under hypo- and/ or hyperosmotic conditions. Two Gracilaria species, G. chorda and G. vermiculophylla, and two Ulva species, U. proliferaand U. compressa, were cultured at various salinity conditions (5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, and 50 psu) for 3 weeks. Resultsshowed that the growth rates, nutrient uptake, tissue nutrient contents and nutrient removal were significantly affectedby salinity and species. All four species were euryhaline with the highest growth rates at 20 psu. Among the four species,U. prolifera, U. compressa, and G. vermiculophylla showed potential to be used for nutrient bioextraction in estuariesand / or land-based fish farms due to their rapid growth, high nutrient uptake, high tissue carbon and nitrogen accumulationand removal capacities.
Creep Mechanisms of Calcium-Silicate-Hydrate

A critical review on existing creep theories in calcium–silicate–hydrate (C–S–H) is presented with an emphasis on several fundamental questions (e.g. the roles of water, relative humidity, temperature, atomic ordering of C–S–H). A consensus on the rearrangement of nanostructures of C–S–H as a main consequence of creep, has almost been achieved. However, main disagreement still exists on two basic aspects regarding creep mechanisms: (1) at which site the creep occurs, like at interlayer, intergranular, or regions where C–S–H has a relatively higher solubility; (2) how the structural rearrangement evolutes, like in a manner of interlayer sliding, intra-transfer of water at various scales, recrystallization of gelled-like particles, or dissolution– diffusion–reprecipitation at inter-particle boundary. The further understanding of creep behavior of C–S–H relies heavily on the appropriate characterization of its nanostructure.

Chloride ingress implies a complex interaction between physical and chemical process, in which heat, moisture and chloride ions transport through concrete cover. Meanwhile, reinforced concrete structure itself undergoes evolution due to variation in temperature, relative humidity and creep effects, which can potentially change the deformation and trigger some micro-cracks in concrete. In addition, all of these process show time-dependent performance with complex interaction between structures and environments. In the present work, a time-dependent behavior of chloride transport in reinforced concrete beam subjected to flexural load is proposed based on the well-known section fiber model. The strain state varies because of stress redistribution caused by the interaction between environment and structure, mainly dominated by thermal stresses and shrinkage stress and creep. Finally, in order to clear the influence of strain state on the chloride diffusivity, experiment test were carried out and a power function used to describe this influence is proposed.
Design of Web Crawler Based on Improved Hidden Markov Model

This paper analyzes the shortcomings of traditional hidden Markov crawler, makes some improvements on the clustering strategy of web pages and the judgment algorithm for determining the correlation of pages or hyperlinks with the topic; and brings forward an AHMM (Adaptive Hidden Markov Model) modeling method. The experimental results shows that the improved AHMM is much more efficient than the traditional HMM.

In modern financial issues empirical analysis shows that the volatility of financial market time series showed more variable, volatility clustering, spike and heavy tail. Garch model family in the analysis of financial time series squared error autocorrelation on widely recognized. However Garch model only analysis a single time series, correlation analysis for multiple time series on limitations. This paper introduces Copula function for studying the correlation of multiple time series. Using Garch model as marginal distribution for Copula function. At the same time, analyze correlation of t- Copula and normality Copula in the financial issus.
Transformerless Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for Battery Storage System with High Voltage Gain

Bidirectional DC-DC converters with wide voltage conversion ratio are essential in energy storage systems. In these systems (ESS), cost effective design is important factor, therefore, it needs to be designed with small numbers of component. This paper proposes a family of high voltage gain bidirectional converter based on the integration of Boost converter with Ćuk, SEPIC, BUCK-BOOST converters respectively. Detail comparisons are progressed in terms of operating mode, numbers of component, and efficiency. The experiment results are carried to verify the proposed converter family. The results show that converter I present the highest efficiency in boost mode (92%) and in buck mode (92.2%).
