This study is to analyze the contrastic duality in the Tempest; therefore, the results obtained here are summarized as follows: firstly, it seems that the duality consists of Prospero’s practical idealism and Gonzalo’s Utopian dream, for the Tempest is set between an impractical idealism on the one side and political villany and lust on the other. Secondly, it is emphasized that Prospero should have to accept the Caliban in Man, and that the civilized man’s efforts with the savage brute should not be excluded, for the primitive even reveals the rudiments of a moral imagination in his graphic descriptions of punishments that he anticipates from the angry mage Prospero. Thirdly, Caliban, representing the primitive, is more controllable in coming to terms with his own primitive and passinate urge, impulse to control than the sophisticated civilized men who commit one crime after another rationally, for it seems to me that Caliban’s conspiracy is one of the ignorant multitude, while Antonio is of the ambitious and malicious. In the long run, Shakespeare seems to concentrate on the education of the audience for the purpose of achieving harmony with nature’s order through the contrastic duality between nature and nurture in dramatizing the attainment of a practical idealism negatively pointed by the satire on Gonzalo’s Utopian dream.
Recent Advances in Feature Detectors and Descriptors
Haeseong Lee,Semi Jeon,Inhye Yoon,Joonki Paik 대한전자공학회 2016 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.5 No.3
Local feature extraction methods for images and videos are widely applied in the fields of image understanding and computer vision. However, robust features are detected differently when using the latest feature detectors and descriptors because of diverse image environments. This paper analyzes various feature extraction methods by summarizing algorithms, specifying properties, and comparing performance. We analyze eight feature extraction methods. The performance of feature extraction in various image environments is compared and evaluated. As a result, the feature detectors and descriptors can be used adaptively for image sequences captured under various image environments. Also, the evaluation of feature detectors and descriptors can be applied to driving assistance systems, closed circuit televisions (CCTVs), robot vision, etc.
Interdisciplinary and International Collaborative Education for Product Design

The delineated approach provides an educational concept for Collaborative Product Development. It aims at teaching and training skills to accomplish collaborative product development projects as the head of the team as well as a team member. Attention is especially paid to heterogeneous teams of different skills, knowledge, specialization, ambition, location as well as cultural background. As Collaborative Engineering aggravates the definition of structures the proposed approach ceases from the common focus on curriculum-driven education. Instead, the approach incorporates principles of active learning, an approach developed in the early 90s, for exercises. Whilst base knowledge is imparted by means of conventional frontal instruction lectures, the according skills are trained in line with exercises lessons encouraging active participation. A novel exercise concept has been developed to cope with the challenges raised by Collaborative Engineering. This concept stipulates a realistic simulation of a collaborative product development environment. For that purpose, cooperation among the Institute for Engineering Design, RWTH Aachen University, Germany and the Mechanical & System Design Engineering (MSDE) Department as well as the Industrial Design Department, both of Hongik University, Korea has been established. Students from the three departments participate in cooperating project teams to develop a certain product. During the project, the lecturers just assist as consultants, acting if explicitly asked for help by the students. It is intended to let critical situations emerge as under realistic conditions, so the students learn by first hand when and how certain techniques can be applied.
