        Characterization of Hyperthermostable Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphatase from Thermococcus onnurineus NA1

        To understand the physiological functions of thermostable fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (TNA1-Fbp) from Thermococcus onnurineus NA1, its recombinant enzyme was overexpressed in Escherichia coli, purified, and the enzymatic properties were characterized. The enzyme showed maximal activity for fructose-1,6-bisphosphate at 95°C and pH 8.0 with a half-life (t1/2) of about 8 h. TNA1-Fbp had broad substrate specificities for fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and its analogues including fructose-1-phosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, and phosphoenolpyruvate. In addition, its enzyme activity was increased five-fold by addition of 1mM Mg2+, while Li+ did not enhance enzymatic activity. TNA1-Fbp activity was inhibited by ATP, ADP, and phosphoenolpyruvate, but AMP up to 100 mM did not have any effect. TNA1-Fbp is currently defined as a class V fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase) because it is very similar to FBPase of Thermococcus kodakaraensis KOD1 based on sequence homology. However, this enzyme shows a different range of substrate specificities. These results suggest that TNA1-Fbp can establish new criterion for class V FBPases.

        이황의 <도산십이곡> 연구

        In succession to the poets Song Sun and Hwang Jin-I, Yi Hwang(1501-1570) composed Do-San-Sip-I-Gok(The Twelve Songs of Do-Mountain). This fact has a considerable meaning in the progress of Korean literary history. As the Buddhistic poet Gyun Yeo(923-973) had composed Bo-Hyeon-Sip-Weon-Ga in the form of the national poetry Hyang-Ga at his time, the Confucianistic poet Yi Hwang composed his poem Do-San-Sip-I-Gok in the form of Si-Jo. And as the Gyun Yeo had written his poem on the basis of Buddhism, so the Confucian Yi Hwang, according to the Confucianism, wrote his poem. First of all Yi Hwang's concerns for Korean language was a notable one. For this was an expression of independent spirit which was promoted after the creation of Korean alphabet. And it is noteworthy that Yi Hwang introduced a new method of philosophic poetry which had been widely favored in the Sung dynasty. That is, even the meanings of ordenary things and usual objects selected in the poems are transfigured as the Confucianistics. Therefore the poetic possility of Korean figurative language was, in result, enlarged and deepend. Though Yi Hwang's poetics might be connected with the Chinese philosophical one, the poem Do-San-Sip-I-Gok is not a plagiary. The poem Do-San-Sip-I-Gok composed in Korean native language is the fine example of success in utilizing a new poetic method.

        폴리비닐클로라이드 해양광생물반응기와 고밀도 폴리에틸렌 해양광생물반응기에서 미세조류, Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12236BP의 생산성 비교

        It is important to design photobioreactor by cheap material for economical microalgal biomass production. In this study, two types of marine photobioreactors (MPBR), made by either polyvinyl chloride (MPBR-PVC) or high density poly ethylene (MPBR-HDPE), are used and performance of these were compared. Tetraselmis sp. KCTC 12236BP is a green marine alga that isolated from Ganghwa Island, Korea, and the strain was used for marine cultivations using MPBR-PVC and MPBR-HDPE. The cultivations were performed three times in the spring season of 2012 using MPBR-PVC and of 2013 using MPBR-HDPE in the coastal area of Young Heung Island. As the results, MPBR-PVC shows higher biomass productivities than MPBR-HDPE, due to its high light transmittance. In the cultivations using MPBR-PVC, the average sea water temperature was 11.5°C during the first experiment and 16.5°C during the second and third experiments. Average light intensities during three times for experiments were 407.5, 268.1 and 273.0 μ·E·m<SUP>-2</SUP>·s<SUP>-1</SUP>, respectively. The maximum fresh cell weight and average biomass productivity were 1.2 g·L<SUP>-1</SUP> and 0.12 g·L<SUP>-1</SUP>·day<SUP>-1</SUP>. These results showed that Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12236BP were adapted well with the environmental conditions from ocean, and grow in the MPBR-PVC and MPBR-HDPE.

        기업가지향성, 신제품개발요인 및 신제품성과의 구조적 관계:중소제조기업을 중심으로

        In this study, an analysis was performed to examine relationship among such preceding conditions for new product development as entrepreneurship orientation, new product development factors and new product performance on the basis of empirical studies on new product development by medium-sized manufacturing companies. The outcomes of the analysis could be summed up as follows: First, the analysis found that the entrepreneurship orientation is exerting influence upon the factors of new product development, implying that the pursuit of entrepreneurship orientation might exercise impact on the factors of new product development. The intensification of entrepreneurship may thus be regarded as extremely important in promoting entrepreneurship orientation in order for enterprises to upgrade the executing level of new product development factors. Second, it was revealed from the analysis that the new product development factors have influence upon product innovation performance as new product performance, which implies that the executing level of new product development factors may be differentiated from that of competitors and highly innovative products can thus be offered to clients. Third, in the analysis, new product development factors are found to have effects upon product development performance. This suggests that systematic management of new product development factors is an important element in performing new product development effectively and determining the way of new product development performance.

        고등학생의 학업성취감에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the socio-demographic factors that may affect academic achievements of high school students. For this purpose, questionnaires were distributed to 542 students of 6 high schools located in Chungcheongnam-do Province and Daejeon Metropolitan City. Frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to process the data collected from the subjects. The major outcomes from the analyses could be summed up as follows: First, the comparative analysis of difference in academic achievements according to socio-demographic features showed a statistically significant difference in school grade, religion, health, economic status, timing of smart phone use and hours of using smart phone daily. Second, such factors as health, economic status, timing of smart phone use and hours of using smart phone daily were found to affect academic achievements of the students significantly. Based on the outcomes of the study as above, discussions were made here to find realistic and political intervention measures to increase academic achievements of high school students.

        죽염의 첨가 급여가 육계의 증체량, 도체성분 및 혈액성분에 미치는 영향

        죽염은 우리나라에서 전래되어온 전통적 민간 의방의 하나로서 소화기 장애의 치료제로 사용되었다. 또한 염증, 당뇨, 순환기 질환, 바이러스성 질환 및 암 등 여러 가지 병의 치료에 효과적이라고 알려져 있다. 죽염은 여러 가지 광물질을 함유하고 있어 가축의 사육과정에서 생산성 향상에 영향을 미칠 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 본 시험은 3회 구운 생활죽염을 사료에 첨가 급여할 때 육계의 생산성에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 기초사료에 죽염을 0.1%, 0.2% 및 0.3% 수준으로 첨가 급여하여 육계의 증체량, 사료섭취량, 사료요구율, 도체성분 및 혈액 성분에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 사양시험을 실시하였으며, 본 시험에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 육성전기에 생활죽염 첨가에 의한 증체량의 차이가 나타났으며 0.3% 첨가구인 T3구가 대조구에 비하여 9.6% 향상된 증체성적을 보였다. 사료요구율은 대조구에 비하여 죽염 0.3% 첨가구인 T3 처리구가 유의적으로 낮게 나타나, 약 2.6% 향상된 결과를 보였다(p<0.05). 또한 음수량과 분변 중 수분함량은 0.3% 죽염을 첨가 급여할 경우, 대조구에 비해 유의적(p<0.05)으로 증가하였으나, 닭가슴살의 일반성분, 복부지방함량 비율 및 혈액 성분은 죽염 첨가에 의한 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. This study investigated the effect of bamboo salt (BS) on body gain, feed intake, meat composition, and blood characteristics of broiler chicks. BS was processed by roasting salt at 1,200∼1,300℃ in a bamboo container, with the open end plugged with red clay. In total, 120 broiler chicks were assigned to four treatments. Each treatment was triplicated, with 10 chicks in each treatment group. The supplementation levels of the three BS-treated feeds were 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3%. Body weight gain slightly increased in broiler chicks fed diets supplemented with BS compared to that of the control during the overall test period. However, no significant differences were observed among treatments. Feed intake was also not significantly different among treatments. Feed efficiency was significantly (p<0.05) improved in broiler chicks fed diets supplemented with BS compared to that of the control. Body weight gain was more positively affected by the dietary BS supplement at the beginning of the experimental period than toward the end. Water intake was positively correlated with the dietary 0.3% BS level (p<0.05). Breast meat composition and cholesterol levels were also not affected by BS supplementation. The total protein, albumin, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT), and total cholesterol levels in the blood were not significantly different among treatments.
