In this paper, we developed and tested comparison performance of our developed Integrated Cathodic Protection Monitor (ICPM) with other instruments. ICPM is more accurate than other products due to using high impedances(100MΩ) to fit high soil specific resistances. And we achieved measuring of corrosion protection voltages at the fields and comparing of those data with other instruments. We demonstrated our ICPM more excellent than other products through experiments.

Gas distribution companies and leak inspection organizations have an interest in new technologies suitable for detecting and measuring natural and combustible gas leaks. Usually, conventional optical sensors and detectors have the potential to meet the often confliction for requirements of a low (ppm) limit of detection, fast response time and low cross-sensitivity to other gases and vapors. For the first time, the technology based on gas absorption spectroscopy has been developed to give a new portable instrument using optical source of mid-infrared ray LED. New design possibilities are offered, which have required us to reconsider the fundamental behavior of gas leaks and the needs of operators. In this paper, we discuss the results of these background studies and present performance data from an instrument prototype. A novel development is the use of a combined methane plus reference measurement to verify other gases such as aqueous vapor, enabling accurate measurements in variable gas compositions and the ability to uniquely determine natural gas. That will contribute to prevention of accidents due to gas leaks.

Development of Gas Safety Management System for Smart-Home Services
Park, Gyoutae,Lyu, Geunjun,Jo, Youngdo,Gu, Jaheon,Eun, Jongbu,Kim, Hiesik SAGE Publications 2013 International journal of distributed sensor networ Vol.2013 No.-

We propose a system for improving gas safety management through the use of wireless communication modules and intelligent gas safety appliances. Our system configuration consists of an automatic extinguishing system, detectors, a wall-pad, and a microcomputer controlled micom gas meter to monitor gas flow and pressure as well as the occurrence of earthquakes. The automatic fire-extinguishing system checks for both combustible gaseous leaks and monitors the environmental temperature, while the detector array measures smoke and CO gas concentrations. Depending on detected conditions, the micom gas meter cuts off an inner valve and generates a warning, the automatic fire-extinguishing system cuts off an external valve and sprays extinguishing materials, or the sensors generate signals and take further action when smoke or CO is detected. Information on intelligent measures taken by the gas safety appliances and sensors is transmitted to the wall-pad, which in turn relays this as real time data to a server that can be monitored via an external network (BcN) connection to a web or mobile application for the management of gas safety. To validate this smart-home gas management system, we field-tested its suitability for use in Korean apartments under several scenarios.
