도시빈민지역 '공부방'의 성격에 대한 연구 : 대구지역공부방연합회소속 '공부방'을 중심으로 Focusing on Gongbubang Affiliated to the Daegu Gongbubang Association

구경모 영남대학교 민족문화연구소 2001 민족문화논총 Vol.24 No.-

'Gongbubang' came into existence as a part of the urban poor movement in the 1980's. The movement was activated from the 1980's, which was administrated in the form of `demolition movement(chulgeominundong)' originating from urban redevelopment. Yet the uncertainty of clearing areas stopped short of continuous movement. for this reason, movement areas shifted from clearing regions into slump districts. This caused temporary `clearing struggle' to be changed into residents' movement capable of constantly organizing residents. It was during this period that 'Gongbubang' came into existence as a part of residents' movement. They came to work as new urban poor movement. The facilities are designed for the welfare of local resident enterprise through after-school children guidance under the banner of the poor movement. Yet the welfare behavior of 'Gongbubang' is different from general welfare in modern capitalist society. The welfare policies of the government tend to look upon the poor as social unstable factors, while the 'Gongbubang' system is based on the preposition that the poor are members who have to get over the contradictions of capitalist society. This is attributable to a difference in perceiving the poor. In this context, this study is designed to shed light on the characteristics of 'Gongbubang' in urban slum. The findings of this study are to be summarized as follows. First, 'Gongbubang' originated in the special political and social environments of military junta. Second, various movement forces established 'Gongbubang' for the cause of the urban poor movement. Third, the fact that 'Gongbubang' organize residents through the welfare behavior of `after-school children guidance' and `local resident enterprise' is related to the special characteristics of slum. The researcher came to the following conclusion. The welfare policies of 'Gongbubang are aimed to oppose govemmental authorities and people with vested rights and can be called flexible movement strategics.

Does VR exergame increase a user’s physical performance? : An Exploratory Study Design

Gyoung Mo Kim,Eui Jun Jeong,Khwang Hyun Kho 한국게임학회 2021 한국게임학회 논문지 Vol.21 No.3

In this paper, we planned to see the positive effects of the immersive virtual environment. In particular, the positive effect of presence on physical performance was explored. A total of 25 participants were recruited for this experiment and his/her physical performance was measured by Electromyography (EMG) while they were exercising (rowing), and presence was measured by a self-reported measure. The participants were randomly assigned to experience either a) Virtual Reality (VR) or b) non-VR (2D screen) condition when they played the exergame. The result showed that 1) there was a positive relationship between representation mode and presence and 2) the higher level of presence reinforced the user"s physical performance. The limitation of the study and future study were also discussed.

Comparison of the Pediatric Balance Scale and Fullerton Advanced Balance Scale for Predicting Falls in Children With Cerebral Palsy

        Gyoung-mo Kim 한국전문물리치료학회 2016 한국전문물리치료학회지 Vol.23 No.4

Background: The Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS) and the Fullerton Advanced Balance (FAB) scale were used to assess balance function in patients with balance problem. These multidimensional clinical balance scales provide information about potential risk factors for falls. Objects: The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the predictive properties of the PBS and FAB scales relative to fall risk in children with cerebral palsy (CP) using a receiver operating characteristic analysis. Methods: In total, 49 children with CP (boy=21, girl=28) who were diagnosed with level 1 or 2 according to the Gross Motor Function Classification System participated in this study. The PBS and FAB were performed, and verified cut-off score, sensitivity, specificity, and the area of under the curve (AUC). Results: In this study, the PBS scale was as a predictive measure of fall risk, but the FAB was not significant in children with CP. A cut-off score of 45.5 points provided optimal sensitivity of .90 and specificity of .69 on the PBS, and a cut-off score of 21.5 points provided optimal sensitivity of .90 and specificity of .62 on the FAB. Both scales showed moderately accurate of AUC with .79 and .76, respectively. Conclusion: The PBS is a useful screening tool for predicting fall risk in children with cerebral palsy, and those who score 45.5 or lower indicate a high risk for falls and are in need of balance intervention.

Content Validity of a Korean-Translated Version of a Fullerton Advanced Balance Scale: A Pilot Study

Gyoung mo Kim 한국전문물리치료학회 2015 한국전문물리치료학회지 Vol.22 No.4

The purpose of this study were to translate the Fullerton Advanced Balance (FAB) scale into Korean and to verify the content validity by utilizing a back-translation method with a view to assessing balance function and the risk of falling in a clinical research setting. This research was conducted in six steps. First, three Korean physical therapists translated the FAB scale into Korean. Second, two bilingual professors of physical therapy and a physical therapist evaluated translation conformity of Korean-translated FAB scale. In the third and fourth steps, twelve physical therapists evaluated the degree of translation comprehension, and a translator back-translated the Korean FAB scale into the original language. Fifth, a bilingual professor of physical therapy and two native speakers evaluated the technical and conceptual equivalence between the original and translation versions. In this process, inappropriate translated items were revised using recommended substitute words or sentences, and all items were evaluated on the basis of three points or more on a rating scale in terms of translation comprehension, and the technical and conceptual equivalence of the back-translation. In the sixth and last step, the translation verification committee completed the final Korean version. The above process indicated that the content validity of the Korean-translated FAB scale was established by means of systematic translation methods, and it can therefore be used to assess balance function and the risk of falls in a clinical research setting.

The New Design of Brain Measurement System for Immersive Virtual Reality

        Gyoung Mo Kim(김경모),Joonhyun Jeon(전준현) 한국HCI학회 2017 한국HCI학회 논문지 Vol.12 No.4

With the technological development, benefits of Virtual Reality (VR) has become a key of medium in communication research. In addition, explaining human minds with physiological data has become more popular since more accurate and detailed data can be expressed. However, reading brain signals in a virtual environment setting with psychophysiological measures (e.g. EEG and fNIRS) has remained a difficulty for researchers due to a technical constraint. Since a combination of cables for brain measures attached to a head cap obstruct wearing a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) over the cap, measuring brain activities with multiple channels on several areas of the brain is inappropriate in the VR setting. Therefore, we have developed a new brain measurement cap that includes probe connectors and brackets enabling a direct connection to the HMD. We highly expect this method would contribute to cognitive psychology research measuring brain signals with new technology.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge and performance ability of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) of physical therapist. A total of 105 physical therapists participated in this study. All participants were responded a self-administered method questionnaire to investigate the knowledge of CPR, and measured on their performance ability of CPR by Braden Pro application. We identified the performance ability of CPR and compared between educated and uneducated group. Among the 7 items on the knowledge of CPR questionnaire, educated group scored higher than uneducated group in Sequence of CPR, Ratio of compression and ventilation, Position of hands for chest compressions, Compression rate of chest and Ventilation volume. However, Depth of chest compressions and Airway maneuver were scored higher in uneducated group. The performance ability of CPR was not significantly different between two groups. However, Compression rate of chest was higher than guideline of CPR in both groups. There were inconsistent results between the knowledge and performance ability of CPR whether educated or not. This study suggests that it needs to provide repeated educations that improve knowledge and performance ability of CPR in physical therapists.
