      • 퇴적암반 활동지역에서의 활동 메커니즘에 대한 연구

        The area under investigation for the past ten years is in the vicinity of the Imha dam. The area is excavated for construction of new road in 1989. Differential heave in one part of the area is occurred and differential subsidence and cracking in another part are took place because of the road construction. The rocks involved are sandstone, shale and mudstone. Geotechnical and surveying techniques have been used to analyze slope instability in the past but without solving the problem of the mechanism of the these failure processes. Geophysical methods (electric resistively method and seismic prospecting method) were applied in order to identify underground geology and geological structures. The interpretation of these slope failure studies is not a straightforward analysis, but the general conclusion is that the complexity of a slope failure requires a complex investigative approach by using a combination of different geophysical methods and geotechnical methods.

      • 불연속성 암반사면에서의 블록거동 해석

        This study was carried out to analyse behavior of blocks in discontinuous rock slopes. The kinematic characteristics, which the discontinuous rocks show on slope, was analysed by various engineering geological factor, and from which a preliminery formula was derived. These blocks tend to failure on the active plane owing to there high angle of dip, at this point it results in toppling failure for the block which has its weight center in the upper part(-vector), and sliding for the block which has its weight center in the lower part(+vector). If, however, those blocks have great undulation angle(i) against active plane, sliding doesn`t happen because of friction force. Therefore, if the undulation angle is known the possibility of failure can be determined. Kinematic conditions of failure are influenced by undulation angle within dilation interval, but they demonstrated as following formula that kinematic conditions of failure are not neary influenced by undulation angle within roughness shear interval. K_(t)=(M_(1)+M_(2)-M_(3))/(M_(1)+M_(2)+M_(3)) M_(1)=cosφ{cosi+sinitan(φ+i)} M_(2)=sinφ{cositan(φ+i)-sini} M_(3)=cositan(φ+i)-sini. And the values of K,in this study area are nearly plotted on limit line of failure.

        Most rock masses contain a joint system that consist of a number of joint sets. A joint may be defined formally as a fracture that traverses a rock mass and is not accompanied by any discernible displacement of one face of the fracture relative to the other. In addition to, individual joints have variable but finite length. This study describes how the three-dimensional estimation of joint distribution is calculated from surface observations in field for engineering purposes. Three-dimensional joint count is a useful measure of the degree of jointing given as number of joints in a unit volume of rock masses and is easily calculated from standard joint descriptions. The three-dimensional estimation on joint distribution in outcrop can also be used to calculate the interblock size in jointed rock masses.

        of these solid residuals depends on the raw water quality, dosage of chemicals used, performance of treatment process, methods of sludge removal and backwash frequency. One of the most difficult task in planning and designing a residuals treatment process is determining the amount of materials to be handled. Bansong water treatment plant were chosen as a model plant in this study and its raw water quality and sludge production were investigated. Turbidity of raw water fluctuated significantly with change of season. It went up to 400 NTU in rainy summer season while it was 10~20 NTU in the other seasons. The relative frequency distribution of turbidity was highly skewed to the right. The SS/turbidity ratio was about 0.9, which is smaller than 1.4 being used popularly in Korea. The weight of sludge produced during the high turbidity increased substantially and its settling property was also greatly i Most conventional water treatment plants produce two major residuals-residuals from the sedimentation basin and residuals from backwashing a filter. The quantity and quality mproved, resulting in production of highly concentrated sludge. These results indicated that the volume of sludge produced during high turbidity may be similar to that of average turbidity. As a result, it was proposed that the average turbidity of three years should be used as a design criteria to estimate the sludge production in planning and designing a sludge treatment plants.

        It is an experimental study to evaluate the characteristics of transient response and performance of carburettered SI engine quantititively, under rapid transient driving conditions. Performance parameters such as cylinder pressure, engine speed, torque, manifold pressure and signal of stepping motor are measured by means of data acquistion system using PC/AT and A/D converter. Performance parameters are evaluated as the function of running time. The results obtained are as follows: 1. Under the rapid transient driving conditions, the value of performance parameters is delayed and increased with transient time. 2. Stumble, hesitation, and stretchiness are increased with running time in the case of without accelerater pump. 3. A quantititive evaluation is attempted on troque fluctuations and stumbles under transient conditions by introducing the stumble rate S and achievement A.

        Exercise-induced anaphylaxis(EIA) is a medical emergency in that it derives from a physical allergy. We reported a case of food-independent EIA based on history and laboratory data. A 40-year-old male patient was presented with generalized urticaria, angioedema, and syncope after jogging. He had suffered from allergic rhinitis for 25 years. Increased level of serum tryptase was noted. Mast cell activation might be suggested in the pathophysiologic mechanism of EIA. (J Asthma Allergy Clin Immunol 24 : 152-5, 2004)

        위절제술 환자의 표준진료지침 개발 및 적용 효과

        Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

      • 토끼에서 Etofenprox와 Spinosad 합제의 국소자극성 시험

        This study was performed to evaluation the skin and eye irritation of etofenprox 8% and spinosad 4% combination in male New Zealand White rabbits. In skin irritation test, the combination of etofenprox and spinosad did not showed any change of body weight but caused slight skin irritation with the P.I.I. (primary irritation index) value 0.25. The etofenprox and spinosad combination showed severe eye irritation 1 h, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after ocular treatment, having the A.O.I. (acute ocular irritation) value of 37.3. Therefore, these result indicated that the combination of etofenprox and spinosad might be irritant formulation on eye and skin.
