        C-반응성단백과 가장 관련 있는 대사증후군 대사이상 항목

        연구배경: C-반응성단백 (이하 CRP)은 심혈관질환의 예후인자 및 독립적 위험인자이다. 대사증후군은 복부비만, 고혈압. 당대사이상 및, 지질대사이상과 같은 관상동맥질환 위험인자들이 동시에 나타나는 증후군을 말한다. 저자들은 18세 이상의 성인 남녀에서 CRP와 대사증후군 대사이상 항목과의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 방법: 2002년 4월부터 10월까지 일개 대학병원 건강증진센터에 내원한 수진자 2772명 중 염증성질환이 의심되는 577명을 제외한 총 2195명을 대상으로 하였다. 신체계측과 혈압측정, 혈액검사를 실시하였다. 통계적 분석은 남녀를 구분하여 대사증루군의 대사이상 항목의 군집성에 따른 CRP값에 대해 ANOVA 검정을 시행하였고, 각 대사이상 항목들과 연령을 독립변수로 하여 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과: CRP는 남성에서 0.10 (±0.004) mg/dL, 여성에서 0.08 (±0.003) mg/dL로 남성이 여성보다 유의하게 높았다(p<0.001). 남녀 모두에서 CRP가 대사증후군 군에서 대사증후군이 없는 군보다 유의하게 높았다. 대사증후군의 대사이상 항목 수가 증가할수록 CRP값이 증가하는 양상을 보였다(P for trend<0.001). 남녀 모두에서 허리둘레 (남성 R²=0.132, 여성 R²=0.166)가 가장 높은 설명력을 보였다. 결론: 18세 이상의 성인 남녀 모두에서 CRP는 대사증후군 대사이상 항목들과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 대사이상 항목중 허리둘레가 CRP 수치와 상관관계가 가장 높았다 Background: C-reactive protein has been known as an independent risk factor and prognostic factor for cardiovascular diseases. Metabolic syndrome is a sum of coronary risk factors such as abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure, hypertension, glucose intolerance and abnormalities in lipid level. The previous studies showed limited relationships between CRP and the risk factors in metabolic syndrome. We investigated the relationships between CRP and the risk factors in metabolic syndrome in adult men and women over 18 years old. Methods: This study included 2772 people. 577 people of them found to have inflammatory disease excluded. The anthropometry and blood pressure were measured. High sensitive CRP, Lipid profiles, WBC, and ESR were assessed. Results: CRP in Men (0.10 (±0.004) mg/dL) was significantly higher than that in women (0.08 (±0.003) mg/dL)(P<0.001). In both genders, CRP was significantly higher in people who have metabolic syndrome than in people who don't. As the number of risk factors increased, CRP was significantly increased (P for trend < 0.001). Waist circumference showed the greatest correlation with CRP in men and women (men; R²=0.132, women; R²=0.166) Conclusion: CRP was correlated with risk factors in metabolic syndrome in men and women over 18 years old. Of the risk factors waist circumference was most correlated with CRP.

      • 실폐광폐수의 중금속 제거를 위한 AFMR 공정 운전 연구

        This research is to establish operation technology of AFMR(Anaerobic Floating Media Reactor) Process for heavy metals removal from raw acid mine drainage. Two AFMR were operated at hydraulic retention time(HRT) of 3days, COD/sulfate ratio of 0.5, temperature of 30℃, and alkalinity from 600㎎/ℓ to 1,000㎎/ℓ (as CaCO_(3)). AT COD/sulfate(SO_(4)^(2-)) ratio of 0.5 and temperature of 30℃, the maximum ratio of reduced sulfate(SO_(4)^(2-))/removed COD(㎎/㎎) kept about 1.34 and the reactor achieved 99.9% of Cr, Cu and Fe, 99.4% of Pb, 99% of Zn, 98% of Cd, and 92.5% of Mn removal efficiencies, respectively. Increment of alkalinity in influent can lead to reduce level of heavy metals in effluent . In order to achieve the efficient removal of heavy metal from raw acid mine drainage, alkalinity of range from 800㎎/ℓ to 1,000㎎/ℓ (as CaCO_(3)) has to be supplied to the influent feed, Sulfate reducing bacteria(SRB) of rods and bacillus types were also observed on surface floating media used in this study.

      • 고성능 액체 크로마토그래피에 의한 연고속에 함유된 Miconazole nitrate의 분석

        An Analysis method has been developed for the determination of Miconazole nitrate, 1-[2-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl)-2-[(2,4-dichlorophenyl) methoxy] ethoxy]-1H-imidazole nitrate in commercially available ointments using High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC). The chromatographic separation was achieved on a reversed phase column(5μ ULTRASPHERE ODS) using Methanol/25mM phosphate Buffer, pH 3.0(80:20 V/V) as mobile phase, and their response was detected by UV-detector at 272nm. Quantification is performed by both the Calibration Curve Method and the Standard Addition Method. The total run time is less than 10 min. The Linear Dynamic Range is 0.02-225μg/mL, Minimum Detection Limit 0.02 μg/mL, and the optimum working concentration was 20μg/mL. The resultant % contents of Miconazole nitrate measured from various ointments samples (nominal value 2%) were 2.02% by Standard Addition Method and 2.02% by Calibration Curve Method.

      • 牙山灣 底魚類 : Ⅱ. 鍾組成의 晝夜 및 季節變動 Ⅱ. Diurnal and Seasonal Variation in Abundance and Species Composition

        Diurnal and seasonal variation of demersal fishes of Asan Bay were studied using seasonal samples collected by an otter trawl from autumn 1989 to summer 1990. For each sampling period, three to five trawl hauls were completed to obtain day and night samples. Of 32 species identified, Chaturichthys stigmatias, Cynoglossus joyneri, Thrissa koreana, Repomucenus lunatus and Hexagrammos otakii accounted for 79.5% of the individuals collected, and C. joyneri, T. koreana, H. otakii, Raja kenojei and Kareius bicoloratus constituted 67.1% of the biomass obtained. Apparently, larger number of individuals and greater biomass were collected in night hauls. However, there is no significant difference between day and night samples in community structure, mean abundance and body length of the dominant demersal species. The greatest numbers and biomass of fishes were collected in summer and the lowest in winter. The abundance of fishes in the study area were dependent upon seasonal effects such as temperature.

        학동기 및 청소년 천식 소아들의 임상 양상과 천명 시작 시기와의 관련성

        Purpose: We aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics and their relationship with the onset age of wheeze in school-age children and adolescents with asthma. Methods: Three hundred twenty-six patients, aged 6 to 19 years, diagnosed with asthma at 6 hospitals from Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daegu, and Busan were enrolled. They were categorized into 3 groups by the onset age of wheeze: group A, early onset (age <3 years); group B, preschool onset (age 3-6 years); group C, late onset (age ≥6 years). Clinical characteristics including atopic sensitization, family history, combined allergic diseases, severity of asthma, and influence of asthma on daily life were examined. A history of hospitalization for early lower respiratory infection (LRI) and environmental tobacco smoking were studied and lung function tests were also performed. Results: There was no difference in demographics, prevalence of atopy, combined allergic diseases, and family history of allergy between 3 groups. A history of sever LRI in early life was more common in groups A and B compared with group C. Sensitization to Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus was more prevalent in groups A and B than in group C. Forced expiratory flow between 25% to 75% (FEF25%-75%) was lower in groups A and B than in group C, and methacholine PC20 (provocative concentration of methacholine causing a 20% fall in forced expiratory volume in one second) was lowest in group B. Significantly lower FEF25%-75% and methacholine PC20 were observed in the patients who had been hospitalized with LRI in early life. Conclusion: Our study shows significant difference in lung function and atopic sensitization in relation to the onset age of wheeze in school-age children and adolescents with asthma, and suggests that early LRI might contribute to the development of asthma in early life.         Natural killer T cell and pathophysiology of asthma

        Natural killer T (NKT) cell is a special type of T lymphocytes that has both receptor of natural killer (NK) cell (NK1.1, CD161c) and T cell (TCR) and express a conserved or invariant T cell receptor called $V{\alpha}14J{\alpha}18$ in mice or Va24 in humans. Invariant NKT (iNKT) cell recognizes lipid antigen presented by CD1d molecules. Marine-sponge-derived glycolipid, ${\alpha}-galactosylceremide$ (${\alpha}-GalCer$), binds CD1d at the cell surface of antigen-presenting cells and is presented to iNKT cells. Within hours, iNKT cells become activated and start to secrete Interleukin-4 and $interferon-{\gamma}$. NKT cell prevents autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, experimental allergic encephalomyelitis, systemic lupus erythematous, inflammatory colitis, and Graves' thyroiditis, by activation with ${\alpha}-GalCer$. In addition, NKT cell is associated with infectious diseases by mycobacteria, leshmania, and virus. Moreover NKT cell is associated with asthma, especially CD4+ iNKT cells. In this review, I will discuss the characteristics of NKT cell and the association with inflammatory diseases, especially asthma.

        Anaphylaxis is a medical emergency and all healthcare professionals need to be familiar with its diagnosis, acute management, longterm management including prevention of future episodes, and plan for patient education. Correct diagnosis and management for anaphylaxis is critical, but it is not easy in clinical setting. Up to the present, several practical guidelines for anaphylaxis are available for the practitioners. Among them, World Allergy Organization guideline for the assessment and management has recently been released and widely used. In this article, we reviewed and summarized the epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, management, prevention, and education based on case reports and studies of anaphylaxis in Korean and other countries. Although there are many controversies, this practical overview for anaphylaxis would provide a clinical guidance for Korean healthcare professionals. (Allergy Asthma Respir Dis 2013;1:181-196)

      • Respiratory Syncytial Virus 재감염에 의한 기도과민성과 기도염증에 대한 Cytosine-phosphate-Guanine Oligodeoxynucleotides의 효과

        Background: Severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in neonate has been reported as a risk factor for the development of allergic asthma or early transient wheezing. RSV can induce reinfection by the same strain. Reinfection after neonatal RSV infection can induce eosinophilic inflammation and aggravate airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) in a BALB/C mouse model. Objective: We evaluated whether cytosine-phosphate- guanine oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG ODNs) administration at initial RSV infection could prevent the aggravation of AHR and eosinophilic inflammation with repeated RSV infection in a mouse model. Method: Mice were infected shortly after birth and were reinfected 5 weeks later by the intranasal administration of RSV (106 pfu) and followed by the assessment of airway function, airway inflammation, and lung histopathology. Phosphorothioate CpG (1,826s; 2 mcg/mouse) was also administered intranasally 2 days after initial RSV infection. Result: Repeated RSV infection induced methacholine (Mch) AHR, eosinophilic inflammation and goblet cell hyperplasia in the control ODN group. CpG ODN administration at initial RSV infection attenuated Mch AHR and eosinophilic inflammation, and decreased levels of IL-13 and IL-5, but increased IFN-γ in BAL fluid and RSV- IgG2a in sera. Conclusion: These findings suggest that CpG ODN can be used to prevent of airway allergic inflammation by RSV reinfection. (Korean J Asthma Allergy Clin Immunol 2010;30:123-130)
