In this letter, a harmonic-mean-based dual-antenna selection scheme at relay node is proposed in two-way relaying networks (TWRNs). With well-designed distributed orthogonal concatenated Alamouti space-time block code (STBC), a dual-antenna selection problem based on the instantaneous achievable sum-rate criterion is formulated. We propose a low-complexity selection algorithm based on the harmonic-mean criterion with linearly complexity O(NR) rather than the directly exhaustive search with complexity O(NR2). From the analysis of network outage performance, we show that the asymptotic diversity gain function of the proposed scheme achieves as 1/ρNR-1, which demonstrates one degree loss of diversity order compared with the full diversity. This slight performance gap is mainly caused by sacrificing some dual-antenna selection freedom to reduce the algorithm complexity. In addition, our proposed scheme can obtain an extra coding gain because of the combination of the well-designed orthogonal concatenated Alamouti STBC and the corresponding dual-antenna selection algorithm. Compared with the common-used selection algorithms in the state of the art, the proposed scheme can achieve the best performance, which is validated by numerical simulations.
Platform Strategy and Market Response Impact on the Success of Crowdfunding: A Chinese Case
Guo, Li,Zhou, Dongmei,Chen, Yang,Huy, Ratanak Asian Society for Innovation and Policy 2015 Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy Vol.4 No.3
Nowadays, crowdfunding presents a promising development. This research focuses on the influence of platform strategy and market response on the success of crowdfunding from the perspective of the elaboration likelihood model (ELM) theory. Detailed product specifications, crowdfunding difficulty coefficient, vivid advertising video such as introduction and music, and recommendations from relevant figures are all used to depict platform strategy. Meanwhile, we use the number of lovers, followers, comments and 1 RMB backers to measure the level of market response. And thus, we model the impact of platform strategy and market response on crowdfunding success with empirical studies based on 400 samples of observed value. We found firstly that there exist significant positive relations between the total amount of funds pledged and detailed product specification, vivid advertising video, recommendations from relevant figures and the number of 1 RMB backers. Secondly, the crowdfunding difficulty of projects affects negatively, and significantly, the total amount of funds pledged. Thirdly, the influence of the number of lovers and followers on funds pledged is not significant.

Objective: In this study, the transcriptome profile of cow experiencing miscarriage during peri-implantation was investigated. Methods: Total transcriptomes were checked by RNA sequencing, and the analyzed by bioinformatics methods, the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were analysed with hierarchical clustering and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. Results: The results suggested that serum progesterone levels were significantly decreased in cows that miscarried as compared to the pregnant cows at 18, 21, 33, 39, and 51 days after artificial insemination. The RNA sequencing results suggested that 32, 176, 5, 10, and 2 DEGs were identified in the pregnant cows and miscarried cows at 18, 21, 33, 39, and 51 d after artificial insemination. And 15, 101, 1, 2, and 2 DEGs were upregulated, and 17, 74, 4, and 8 DEGs were downregulated in the cows in the pregnant and miscarriage groups, respectively at 18, 21, 33, and 39, but no gene was downregulated at 51 d after artificial insemination. These DEGs were distributed to 13, 20, 3, 6, and 20 pathways, and some pathway essential for pregnancy, such as cell adhesion molecules, tumor necrosis factor signaling pathway and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. Conclusion: This analysis has identified several genes and related pathways crucial for pregnancy and miscarriage in cows, as well as these genes supply molecular markers to predict the miscarriage in cows.
Bayesian Hybrid State Estimation for Unequal-length Batch Processes with Incomplete Observations
Guoli Ji,Yaozong Wang,Shunyi Zhao,Yunlong Liu,Kangkang Zhang,Bin Yao,Sun Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.6
This paper investigates state estimation problem for batch processes with unequal-length batches as wellas incomplete observations. A Bayesian hybrid state estimation method is proposed based on two dimensional (2D)correlations of states. The states of equal-length segment of time are estimated according to both within-a-batchand batch-to-batch correlations, and the states of unequal-length segment are obtained according to the correlationswithin the batch. In this way, the batch process states can be achieved in both equal-length and unequal-lengthsituations, of which the latter one is a more general case. In order to approximate state distribution of nonlinearsystem and to deal with the problem of incomplete observations, particle filter (PF) is employed. The proposedmethod shows its superiority with a nonlinear system and a gas-phase reaction process. Compared to a typicalexisting method, the proposed method provides better estimation accuracy in the situation of equal-length batches, also it shows less sensitivity to incomplete observations.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)etropomyosin-related kinase B (TrkB) plays acritical role in the pathogenesis of depression by modulating synaptic structural remodeling and functional transmission. Previously, we have demonstrated that the ginsenoside Rb1 (Rb1) presents a novelantidepressant-like effect via BDNFeTrkB signaling in the hippocampus of chronic unpredictable mildstress (CUMS)-exposed mice. However, the underlying mechanism through which Rb1 counteractsstress-induced aberrant hippocampal synaptic plasticity via BDNFeTrkB signaling remains elusive. Methods: We focused on hippocampal microRNAs (miRNAs) that could directly bind to BDNF and areregulated by Rb1 to explore the possible synaptic plasticity-dependent mechanism of Rb1, which affordsprotection against CUMS-induced depression-like effects. Results: Herein, we observed that brain-specific miRNA-134 (miR-134) could directly bind to BDNF 30UTRand was markedly downregulated by Rb1 in the hippocampus of CUMS-exposed mice. Furthermore, thehippocampusetargeted miR-134 overexpression substantially blocked the antidepressant-like effects ofRb1 during behavioral tests, attenuating the effects on neuronal nuclei-immunoreactive neurons, thedensity of dendritic spines, synaptic ultrastructure, long-term potentiation, and expression of synapseassociated proteins and BDNFeTrkB signaling proteins in the hippocampus of CUMS-exposed mice. Conclusion: These data provide strong evidence that Rb1 rescued CUMS-induced depression-like effectsby modulating hippocampal synaptic plasticity via the miR-134-mediated BDNF signaling pathway.

Olfaction is essential for fish to detect odorant elements in the environment and plays a critical role in navigating, locating food and detecting predators. Olfactory function is produced by the olfactory transduction pathway and is activated by olfactory receptors (ORs) through the binding of odorant elements. Recently, four types of olfactory receptors have been identified in vertebrate olfactory epithelium, including main odorant receptors (MORs), vomeronasal type receptors (VRs), trace-amine associated receptors (TAARs) and formyl peptide receptors (FPRs). It has been hypothesized that migratory fish, which have the ability to perform spawning migration, use olfactory cues to return to natal rivers. Therefore, obtaining OR genes from migratory fish will provide a resource for the study of molecular mechanisms that underlie fish spawning migration behaviors. Previous studies of OR genes have mainly focused on genomic data, however little information has been gained at the transcript level. In this study, we identified the OR genes of an economically important commercial fish Coilia nasus through searching for olfactory epithelium transcriptomes. A total of 142 candidate MOR, 52 V2R/OlfC, 32 TAAR and two FPR putative genes were identified. In addition, through genomic analysis we identified several MOR genes containing introns, which is unusual for vertebrate MOR genes. The transcriptomescale mining strategy proved to be fruitful in identifying large sets of OR genes from species whose genome information is unavailable. Our findings lay the foundation for further research into the possible molecular mechanisms underlying the spawning migration behavior in C. nasus.
