Atractylis lancea (Thunb.) DC. (AL), an important medicinal herb in Asia, has been shown to have anti-tumor effects on cancer cells, but the involved mechanisms are poorly understood. This study focused on potential effects and molecular mechanisms of AL on the proliferation of the Hep-G2 liver cancer cell line in vitro. Cell viability was assessed by MTT test in Hep-G2 cells incubated with an ethanol extract of AL. Then, the effects of AL on apoptosis and cell cycle progression were determined by flow cytometry. Telomeric repeat amplification protocol (TRAP) assays was performed to investigate telomerase activity. The mRNA and protein expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) and c-myc were determined by real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting. Our results show that AL effectively inhibits proliferation in Hep-G2 cells in a concentrationand time-dependent manner. When Hep-G2 cells were treated with AL after 48h,the $IC_{50}$ was about 72.1 ${\mu}g/mL$. Apoptosis was induced by AL via arresting the cells in the G1 phase. Furthermore, AL effectively reduced telomerase activity through inhibition of mRNA and protein expression of hTERT and c-myc. Hence, these data demonstrate that AL exerts anti-proliferative effects in Hep-G2 cells via down-regulation of the c-myc/hTERT/telomerase pathway.

This paper presents the virtual mass method to implement the prediction of total resistance for ice-going ship in floe ice region based on the combined method of CFD and DEM. Two ways of floe ice distribution are adopted for the analysis and comparison. The synthetic ice model test has been conducted to determine the optimal virtual mass coefficients for the two different floe ice distributions. Moreover, the further verification and prediction are developed in different ice conditions. The results show that, the fixed and random distributions in numerical method can simulate the interaction of ship and ice vividly, the trend of total resistance varying with the speed and ice concentration obtained by the numerical simulation is consistent with the model test. The random distribution of floe ice has higher similarity and better accuracy than fixed distribution.
Femtosecond Photoelectron Imaging of N2 at 410 nm
Guo, Wei,Wei, Shanshan,Lu, Xingqiang,Wang, Li Korean Chemical Society 2010 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.31 No.12
We experimentally measure the kinetic energy and angular distributions of photoelectrons of $N_2$ as a function of 410 nm femtosecond laser intensity by using velocity map imaging technique. The strong-field multiphoton ionization of molecules shares many of the characteristics with those of atoms. Electron kinetic energies are nearly independent of laser intensities. The independence suggests that the electron peaks in the photoelectron spectrum actually result from a two-step process, indicative of the occurrence of real population in the intermediate states. The relative amplitudes of electron peaks indicate that in the two-step process, nonresonant population transfer dominates for low intensities, while resonant population transfer dominates for higher intensities.

Fatigue in the metal used as hull material has always been an important issue. The fatigue phenomenongenerally occurs suddenly in a ship hull, and always causesa large number of casualties and economic losses. This paper presents a study of an assessment method for the fatigue life based on Li’s approach using MSC Fatigue. The details of Li’s approach based on MSC Fatigue are provided. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Li’s approach has several advantages: (1) it allows the wide application of different structural details, (2) is easy to use, and (3) provides accurate results. Finally, Li’s approach can be proven to be feasible for a ship’s fatigue analysis.

Three new compounds (1-3), including a neolignan, a triterpenoid, and a diterpenoid, together with twenty known compounds (4-23), were isolated from the aerial parts of Isodon coetsa. Their structures and relative configurations were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. Compounds 1, 3, 5-9, 11-13, 16-17, and 19-23 were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against HT-29, BEL-7402, and SK-OV-3 human tumor cell lines. Compound 7 showed significant inhibitory effects on all three types of cells, with IC50 values of 2.52, 3.06, 2.14 μM, respectively.
Prediction of warpage in plastic injection molding based on design of experiments
Wei Guo,Lin Hua,Huajie Mao,Zhenghua Meng 대한기계학회 2012 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.26 No.4
In terms of injection processing parameters, a mathematical model for prediction of warpage was formulated based on design of experiments (DOE). First, the five most influential parameters were screened by using fractional factorial design (FFD): melt temperature, coolant temperature, injection time, V/P switch over and mold temperature. Second, considering the other four principal processing parameters except the melt temperature, the predicting mathematical model was founded by using central composite design (CCD) of experiments and FE simulation. Finally, the results of statistical analysis were collected from software Moldflow. The results suggested that the mathematical model can be used to predict warpage with adequate accuracy. Hence, it indicated that corrective and iterative design steps can be initiated and implemented for better quality of products without resorting to physical trials in plastics injection mold by using this predicting mathematical model.
Facility Performance Indexes and Rapid Test Feasibility Evaluation Method of Shaking Tables
Wei Guo,Zhipeng Zhai,Zhiwu Yu,Yan Long 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.23 No.7
Shaking table test is widely used as the main experimental approach to evaluate seismic performance of structures, and it usually consumes huge funds and labors. To ensure success of the tests, it is essential to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy before the test is conducted. However, research on test feasibility has rarely been reported. In recent years, complexity of shaking table tests has increased significantly due to the increasing demand of testing facility performance. Hence, feasibility evaluation becomes more and more important. In this paper, main performance indexes of the shaking table facility are expounded. According to the performance indexes of actuator parameters, a rapid feasibility evaluation method is then proposed based on the equilibrium between the facility capacity and the table output demand. Subsequently, applicability of the evaluation method is validated by evaluating the practical tests. The results show that the maximum acceleration targets in horizontal and vertical direction are mutually restrained under threedimensional excitations. For the feasibility evaluation of large-scale model tests, the eccentric and overturning moment of specimen are the main performance control indexes due to their adverse influences on the facility. And the overturn-resistance of shaking table will be enhanced significantly by vertical actuators during the absence of vertical excitations. In the shaking table array test, millimeter-scale relative displacement between tables may lead to accidental damage of the test specimen or not working of the facility when the reinforced concrete foundation crosses the shaking tables. Therefore, attentions should be paid to the design of the test scheme.
