        Extraction of 2-Hydroxyphenol by Surfactant Coated Nanosized Magnetic Particles

        A colloidal suspension of magnetic particles coated with double layer surfactant molecules was prepared, characterized and used for separation of some chemicals. The aqueous magnetic fluid was prepared by chemical precipitation method and characterized by total organic carbon analyzer (TOC), themogravimetric analysis (TGA) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The TOC and TGA measurements indicate that the prepared magnetic particles are coated with surfactant molecules in double layers. The outer surfactant layer has free polar beeds. TEM measurement result show that magnetic particles are nanosized. A mixture of 2-hydroxyphenol (strong polar) and 2-nitrophenol (weak polar) was chosen as the target system. Results show that the magnetic fluid can selectively adsorb 2-hydroxyphenol from the mixture, whereas the adsorption of 2-nitrophenol is insignificant. For 2-hydroxyphenol, the adsorption equilibrium can be described well by Langmuir isotherm, and the adsorption kinetic can be fitted well by a linear driving force mass transfer model.

      • Immune Reconstitution of CD4<sup>+</sup>T Cells after Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and its Correlation with Invasive Fungal Infection in Patients with Hematological Malignancies

        Objective: To explore the immune reconstitution of $CD4^+T$ cells after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) and its relationship with invasive fungal infection (IFI) in patients with hematological malignancies. Materials and Methods: Forty-seven patients with hematological malignancies undergoing Allo-HSCT in Binzhou Medical University Hospital from February, 2010 to October, 2014 were selected. At 1, 2 and 3 months after transplantation, the immune subpopulations and concentration of cytokines were assessed respectively using flow cytometry (FCM) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The incidence of IFI after transplantation and its correlation with immune reconstitution of $CD4^+T$ cells were investigated. Results: The number of $CD4^+T$ cells and immune subpopulations increased progressively after transplantation as time went on, but the subpopulation cell count 3 months after transplantation was still significantly lower than in the control group (p<0.01). In comparison to the control group, the levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-10 after transplantation rose evidently (p<0.01), while that of transforming growth factor-${beta}$ (TGF-${beta}$) was decreased (p<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference level of interferon-${\gamma}$ (IFN-${\gamma}$) (p>0.05). The incidence of IFI was 19.2% (9/47), and multivariate logistic regression revealed that IFI might be related to Th17 cell count (p<0.05), instead of Th1, Th2 and Treg cell counts as well as IL-6, IL-10, TGF-${beta}$ and IFN-${\gamma}$ levels (p>0.05). Conclusions: After Allo-HSCT, the immune reconstitution of $CD4^+T$ cells is delayed and Th17 cell count decreases obviously, which may be related to occurrence of IFI.

        Two-Step Oxidation of Refractory Gold Concentrates with Different Microbial Communities<sup>s</sup>

        Bio-oxidation is an effective technology for treatment of refractory gold concentrates. However, the unsatisfactory oxidation rate and long residence time, which cause a lower cyanide leaching rate and gold recovery, are key factors that restrict the application of traditional bio-oxidation technology. In this study, the oxidation rate of refractory gold concentrates and the adaption of microorganisms were analyzed to evaluate a newly developed two-step pretreatment process, which includes a high temperature chemical oxidation step and a subsequent bio-oxidation step. The oxidation rate and recovery rate of gold were improved significantly after the two-step process. The results showed that the highest oxidation rate of sulfide sulfur could reach to 99.01 % with an extreme thermophile microbial community when the pulp density was 5%. Accordingly, the recovery rate of gold was elevated to 92.51%. Meanwhile, the results revealed that moderate thermophiles performed better than acidophilic mesophiles and extreme thermophiles, whose oxidation rates declined drastically when the pulp density was increased to 10% and 15%. The oxidation rates of sulfide sulfur with moderate thermophiles were 93.94% and 65.73% when the pulp density was increased to 10% and 15%, respectively. All these results indicated that the twostep pretreatment increased the oxidation rate of refractory gold concentrates and is a potential technology to pretreat the refractory sample. Meanwhile, owing to the sensitivity of the microbial community under different pulp density levels, the optimization of microbial community in bio-oxidation is necessary in industry.

        Role of miR-511 in the Regulation of OATP1B1 Expression by Free Fatty Acid

        MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a family of non-coding RNA that are able to adjust the expression of many proteins, including ATP-binding cassette transporter and organic cation transporter. We sought to evaluate the effect of miR-511 on the regulation of OATP1B1 expression by free fatty acids. When using free fatty acids to stimulate Chang liver cells, we found that the expression of miR-511 increased significantly while the expression of OATP1B1 decreased. We also proved that SLCO1B1 is the target gene of miR-511 with a bioinformatics analysis and using the dual luciferase reporter assay. Furthermore, the expressions of SLCO1B1 and OATP1B1 decreased if transfecting Chang liver cells with miR-511, but did not increase when transfecting the inhibitors of miR-511 into steatosis cells. Our study indicates that miR-511 may play an important role in the regulation of OATP1B1 expression by free fatty acids.

        In Situ Growth of MOF-Derived NaCoPO4@Carbon for Asymmetric Supercapacitive and Water Oxidation Electrocatalytic Performance

        The increasing energy crisis promotes the study on novel electrode materials with high performance for supercapacitive storage and energy conversion. Transition metal phosphates have been reported as a potential candidate due to the unique coordination and corresponding electronic structure. Herein, we adopted a facile method for preparing NaCoPO4@C derived from a metal organic framework (MOF) as a bifunctional electrode. ZIF-67 was synthesized before a refluxing process with Na2HPO4 to form a precursor, which is transformed into the final product via calcination in different atmospheres. Specifically, the resultant NaCoPO4@C exhibits a high specific capacitance of 1178.7 F g -1 at a current density of 1 A g -1 for a supercapacitor. An asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) assembled with active carbon displays a high capacitance of 163.7 F g -1 at 1 A g -1. In addition, as an oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst, the NaCoPO4@C electrode requires only 299 mV to drive a current density of 10 mA cm -2. These results suggest that the rational design of MOF-derived NaCoPO4@C provides a variety of practical applications in electrochemical energy conversion and storage.

        A Meta-Analysis of the Accuracy of Prostate Cancer Studies Which Use Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy as a Diagnostic Tool

        Objective: We aimed to do a meta-analysis of the existing literature to assess the accuracy of prostate cancer studies which use magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) as a diagnostic tool. Materials and Methods: Prospectively, independent, blind studies were selected from the Cochrane library, Pubmed, and other network databases. The criteria for inclusion and exclusion in this study referenced the criteria of diagnostic research published by the Cochrane center. The statistical analysis was adopted by using Meta-Test version 6.0. Using the homogeneity test, a statistical effect model was chosen to calculate different pooled weighted values of sensitivity, specificity, and the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). The summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curves method was used to assess the results. Results: We chose two cut-off values (0.75 and 0.86) as the diagnostic criteria for discriminating between benign and malignant. In the first diagnostic criterion, the pooled weighted sensitivity, specificity, and corresponding 95% CI (expressed as area under curve [AUC]) were 0.82 (0.73, 0.89), 0.68 (0.58, 0.76), and 83.4% (74.97, 91.83). In the second criterion, the pooled weighted sensitivity, specificity, and corresponding 95% CI were 0.64 (0.55, 0.72), 0.86 (0.79, 0.91) and 82.7% (68.73, 96.68). Conclusion: As a new method in the diagnostic of prostate cancer, MRS has a better applied value compared to other common modalities. Ultimately, large scale RCT randomized controlled trial studies are necessary to assess its clinical value.         A zeolite family with expanding structural complexity and embedded isoreticular structures

        The prediction and synthesis of new crystal structures enable the targeted preparation of materials with desired properties. Among porous solids, this has been achieved for metal–organic frameworks, but not for the more widely applicable zeolites, where new materials are usually discovered using exploratory synthesis. Although millions of hypothetical zeolite structures have been proposed, not enough is known about their synthesis mechanism to allow any given structure to be prepared. Here we present an approach that combines structure solution with structure prediction, and inspires the targeted synthesis of new super-complex zeolites. We used electron diffraction to identify a family of related structures and to discover the structural ‘coding’ within them. This allowed us to determine the complex, and previously unknown, structure of zeolite ZSM-25 (ref. 8), which has the largest unit-cell volume of all known zeolites (91,554 cubic ångströms) and demonstrates selective CO<SUB>2</SUB> adsorption. By extending our method, we were able to predict other members of a family of increasingly complex, but structurally related, zeolites and to synthesize two more-complex zeolites in the family, PST-20 and PST-25, with much larger cell volumes (166,988 and 275,178 cubic ångströms, respectively) and similar selective adsorption properties. Members of this family have the same symmetry, but an expanding unit cell, and are related by hitherto unrecognized structural principles; we call these family members embedded isoreticular zeolite structures.

        애니메이션 ‘켈스의 비밀’ 장면에서의 장식적 스타일에 관한 연구

        애니메이션의 창작에서 애니메이션 장면은 일반적으로 애니메이션 캐릭터의 퍼포먼스를 위한 것이다. 애니메이션 장면의 디자인은 요구에 부합하여야 하며, 이야기가 발생한 역사 배경, 문화 형태, 지리 환경과 시대 특성을 보여주어야 한다. 이야기의 발생 시간과 장소를 명확하게 표현하고 영상의 전반적인 스타일과 결합하여 디자인하며, 애니메이션 캐릭터의 퍼포먼스에서 적합한 장소를 제공해 주어야 한다. 창작 과정에서 다양한 창작 요소를 결합하고 활용하여 표현할 수 있는 창작 스타일과 특성도 갈수록 다채로워지고 창작자들의 서로 다른 개성과 감정을 반영할 수 있다. 그리고 애니메이션 예술에 잠재적인 장식성은 끊임없이 우리에게 새로운 심미적 체험과 활력을 제공해주고 있다. 본 논문은 Les Armateurs, Vivi Film, Cartoon Saloon 등 애니메이션 제작회사에서 톰 무어(Tomm Moore)와 노라 트메이(Nora Twomey)는 감독한 ‘켈스의 비밀(The Secret Of Kells)’을 대상으로 연구하였다. ‘켈스의 비밀’에서 나타나는 독특한 장식적 스타일이 장면 조형에서의 응용에 대한 분석을 통하여 장식적 스타일이 애니메이션 작품의 주제와 형식에 미치는 영향을 연구하고 장식적 스타일 애니메이션 조형을 명확하게 이해할 수 있다. ‘켈스의 비밀’ 장면에서의 장식적 설계, 색채 및 렌즈 언어 등을 시각으로 하여 장식적 스타일이 애니메이션에서의 응용을 분석하였다. 이는 미학적인 리듬을 나타낼 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전통적인 문화 예술에 대한 강력한 해석이라고 할 수도 있다. 장식성과 애니메이션의 결합은 애니메이션 예술의 특징을 확대할 수 있고 작품도 더욱 재미있으며, 흡인력이 있게 할 수 있다. ‘켈스의 비밀’의 예술 구성 형식은 매우 풍부하며, 추상적인 구성 형식, 풍부한 기하학적 도형 및 대량의 기호들이 예술 구성의 형식을 영화 속으로 융합하여 영상의 화면감(画面感)이 풍부하고 매력이 있게 하였다. 장식적 스타일은 특성이 있는 창작 스타일로 애니메이션 장면에서의 응용이 시각적 예술을 풍부하게 하고 장식적 미와 형식적 미를 강화하고 시각적 미를 증강시킬 수 있으며, 뚜렷한 특성을 나타낼 수 있다. 또한, 시각적으로 장식적 예술은 모든 예술에 대한 미학적 연구의 기초를 구성하기 때문에 장식은 애니메이션에 대해 매우 중요한 연구 의미가 있다. 장식적 스타일의 독특한 예술 리듬, 광역적인 문화 콘텐츠(Contents) 및 풍부한 화면 표현 형식은 애니메이션 스타일의 발전에 새로운 사고 방향을 제공해 줄 수 있음으로써 애니메이션 예술의 창작 발전에 더 넓은 공간을 제공할 수 있다. In the creation of cartoons, the scenes usually serve for the performance of animated characters. The d animation scenes shall be designed as required and present the historical background, cultural features, geographical environment and characteristics of the times of the story. It is of great importance to describe time and place of the story, design the scenes in combination with the overall style of the film, provide suitable occasions for the animated characters to perform, and absorb and learn from various creative elements in the creative process. The creative style and characteristics displayed are increasingly colorful, reflecting the different personalities and emotions of creators. In addition, the decoration potential in animation art continuously provides us with new aesthetic feelings and vitality. In the present study, the cartoons released by companies such as Les Armateurs, Vivi Film, Cartoon Saloon, etc., and The Secret of Kells directed by Tom Moore and Nora Tomei are used as the research objects. The unique decorative style presented in the film and its application of the decorative style in the scene are explored and analyzed. And then, the author explores the influence of decorative style on the theme and style of the work, and then has a clear understanding of decorative style animation modeling. From the perspective of the decorative design, color, and lens language of the film, discussing the application of decorative style in animated films can not only show the rhythm of beauty, but also provide a powerful explanation of traditional culture and art. The fusion of decoration and animated film is an expansion of the artistic characteristics of animation, and it also makes the work more interesting and attractive. The artistic composition forms in the whole film are extremely rich. The abstract composition forms, rich geometric figures and a large number of symbols make the artistic composition forms integrate into the film, creating a rich and charming picture. As a creating style, the animation decorative style in the scene greatly enriches the visual art of animation, strengthens the beauty of decoration and form, enhances the beauty of visual form, and also reflects a distinct personality style. It is the visual decoration art of animated films that inevitably constitutes the starting point and foundation of all aesthetic research on art. Decoration also has very important research significance for animated films. Its unique artistic rhythm, wide-area cultural connotation and rich picture expression forms can provide new ideas and wind vanes for the development of animated film style, thereby providing a broader space for the creation and development of animation art.
