      • Adsorption of Villin Headpiece onto Graphene, Carbon Nanotube, and C60: Effect of Contacting Surface Curvatures on Binding Affinity

        Zuo, Guanghong,Zhou, Xin,Huang, Qing,Fang, Haiping,Zhou, Ruhong American Chemical Society 2011 The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part C Vol.115 No.47

<P>The adsorption of protein villin headpiece (HP35) onto a graphene has been investigated using large scale molecular dynamics simulations, and the results are compared with similar adsorptions onto a single-wall carbon nanotube and a fullerene, C60. It is found that HP35 loses most of its native secondary and tertiary structures after the adsorption onto graphene. The π–π stacking interactions between the graphene and HP35’s aromatic residues play a key role in this adsorption. The graphene’s softness also helps the binding by adapting its own shape to fit better with aromatic residues in forming stronger π–π stacking interactions. Interestingly, the mechanism of HP35 adsorption onto the other two graphitic nanomaterials is found to be somewhat different, in which the π–π stacking interactions play a lesser role than the dispersion interactions between the nanomaterial and HP35’s aliphatic side chains. These findings indicate that in addition to the chemical composition, the shape of the nanoparticle is also an important factor in determining its interaction with proteins: the contacting surface curvature can lead to different adsorption mechanisms.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2011/jpccck.2011.115.issue-47/jp208967t/production/images/medium/jp-2011-08967t_0004.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jp208967t'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Xiaoguang Li,Guanghong Li,Songan Zhang,Qiang Yuan 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.5

The combination of traditional ant colony algorithm in solving the optimization process to consume a large amount of time, easily falling into local optimal solution and convergence is slow and other disadvantages, while also generating a lot of useless redundant iterative code, operation efficiency is low. Therefore, ant colony optimization algorithm is proposed. The algorithm based on genetic algorithm has the ability to search the global ant colony algorithm also has a parallel and positive feedback mechanisms. Changes in the use of genetic algorithm selection operator, crossover operator and mutation operator action to determine the distribution of pheromone on the path, the ant colony algorithm for feature selection using support vector machine classifiers for evaluating the performance characteristics of the feedback sub-Variorum And by changing the pheromone iteration, parameter selection and increase the local pheromone update feature nodes guided the re-combination. The algorithm uses probability expectation values are obtained to meet under the conditions with minimal sensor nodes, and gives the optimal coverage and connectivity probability models and reasoning. The experimental results show that, the algorithm can not only use the least nodes complete the effective target area to be covered, and in reducing the network energy consumption is also greatly improved, simultaneously reduces the cyber source configuration, improve the network life cycle.

Novel designs of polycarboxylate superplasticizers for improving resistance in clay-contaminated concrete

        Xiao Liu,Jianan Guan,Guanghong Lai,Yunsheng Zheng,Ziming Wang,Suping Cui,Mingzhang Lan,Huiqun Li 한국공업화학회 2017 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.55 No.-

Certain clays attached around the aggregates contaminate the concrete and also greatly affect the concrete workability, the mechanism of which was investigated through calculating the volume change of solid and liquid phases of concrete mixture containing clay. To minimize this detrimental effect, two novel designs based on the transfer of theory and techniques from polymer science, i.e., molecular design of polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PCE), were proposed. The one was “intercalator” synthesized via Hofmann rearrangement and cationization, and the other was “star-shaped polycarboxylate super- plasticizer (SPCE)” synthesized via a route of “core first and arm second”. The results of Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) confirm the designed structures. The applications of these polymers in clay-contaminated cement paste and concrete were tested. The results showed that, the dispersing capacities of “Intercalator + Comb-shaped polycarboxylate superplasticizer (CPCE)” and SPCE were less affected by adding clay in both cement paste and concrete. Adsorption and Xray diffraction (XRD) experiments revealed less harmful intercalation for SPCE and preferential occupation in the interlayer space of clay for intercalator to protect other workable PCEs. It is interesting that optimizing charge characteristic and “disassembling-assembling” molecular arrangement can contribute to excellent resistance towards clay. The aim of this study is to offer two promising alternatives, which attractively provide the theoretical basis and technological application in researching advanced materials in clay-contaminated concrete.

Effects of Marbling on Meat Quality Characteristics and Intramuscular Connective Tissue of Beef Longissimus Muscle

        Li, Chunbao,Zhou, Guanghong,Xu, Xinglian,Zhang, Jingbo,Xu, Shuqin,Ji, Yanfeng Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2006 Animal Bioscience Vol.19 No.12

This study was designed to explore the effects of marbling on meat quality characteristics and intramuscular connective tissue of beef longissimus muscle. Chemical determinations, histological and mechanical measurements were performed on the raw and cooked meat at d 4 postmortem. The results showed that crude fat, collagen, fiber diameter and maximum transition temperature of intramuscular connective tissue increased (p<0.05) with the increase of marbling score. The cooking losses, collagen solubility, WBSF and perimysial thickness decreased (p<0.05) with the increasing marbling. WBSF correlated (p<0.05) with moisture, crude fat, collagen, cooking losses, sarcomere length and perimysial thickness. The development of marbling results in the decline in cooking losses, the avoidance of sarcomere shortening, and the disorganization of the perimysia, which accounts for the improvement of beef tenderness.

Design and analysis of a modular rope-climbing robot with the finger-wheeled mechanism

        Suyang Yu,Changlong Ye,Guanghong Tao,Jian Ding,Yinchao Wang 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.5

The rope-climbing robot that can cling to a rope for locomotion has been a popular equipment for some inspection applications due to its high flexibility. In this study, a modular rope-climbing robot with the finger-wheeled mechanism is proposed. Due to the ingenious finger-wheeled mechanism and the modular structure, the robot can achieve smooth and quick movement and good capability of obstacle-crossing on the rope and has a high adaptability for different rope environments. On the basis of introducing the robot mechanism, the geometric definitions and descriptions that can present the robot configuration and position relative to the rope are established. Aiming at three typical states during obstacle-crossing, the geometric and force analysis is performed to establish the constraint equations for the robot, and then the simulation is carried out with the optimization calculating method to solve the geometric variables and external forces of the robot that can be used for the robot design work. Finally, the robot prototype is developed based on the design and analysis work, and the experiment is conducted to verify the performance of the robot.

20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 exerts anti-fi brotic effect after myocardial infarction by alleviation of fi broblasts proliferation and collagen deposition through TGFBR1 signaling pathways

        Honglin Xu,Haifeng Miao,Guanghong Chen,Guoyong Zhang,Yue Hua,Yuting Wu,Tong Xu,Changlei Hu,Mingjie Pang,Leyi Tan,Xin Han,Bin Liu,Yingchun Zhou 고려인삼학회 2023 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.47 No.6

Background: Myocardial fibrosis post-myocardial infarction (MI) can induce maladaptive cardiacremodeling as well as heart failure. Although 20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 (Rg3) has been applied to cardiovasculardiseases, its efficacy and specific molecular mechanism in myocardial fibrosis are largely unknown. Herein, we aimed to explore whether TGFBR1 signaling was involved in Rg3's anti-fibrotic effectpost-MI. Methods: Left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery ligation-induced MI mice and TGF-b1-stimulated primary cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) were adopted. Echocardiography, hematoxlin-eosin andMasson staining, Western-blot and immunohistochemistry, CCK8 and Edu were used to study the effectsof Rg3 on myocardial fibrosis and TGFBR1 signaling. The combination mechanism of Rg3 and TGFBR1 wasexplored by surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi). Moreover, myocardial Tgfbr1-deficient mice andTGFBR1 adenovirus were adopted to confirm the pharmacological mechanism of Rg3. Results: In vivo experiments, Rg3 ameliorated myocardial fibrosis and hypertrophy and enhanced cardiacfunction. Rg3-TGFBR1 had the 1.78 10 7 M equilibrium dissociation constant based on SPRi analysis, and Rg3 inhibited the activation of TGFBR1/Smads signaling dose-dependently. Cardiac-specific Tgfbr1knockdown abolished Rg3's protection against myocardial fibrosis post-MI. In addition, Rg3 downregulatedthe TGF-b1-mediated CFs growth together with collagen production in vitro through TGFBR1signaling. Moreover, TGFBR1 adenovirus partially blocked the inhibitory effect of Rg3. Conclusion: Rg3 improves myocardial fibrosis and cardiac function through suppressing CFs proliferationalong with collagen deposition by inactivation of TGFBR1 pathway.

        한국 자유무역지역의 운영효율성 분석

        이윤(Lee, Yune),장광홍(Zhang, Guanghong),안영효(Ahn, Young Hyo) 한국물류학회 2020 물류학회지 Vol.30 No.2

This paper analyzed the relative efficiency of the Free Trade Zones in Korea from 2014 to 2018 based on the DEA Model. In this analysis, export sales value and domestic sales value of the 7 Free Trade Zones were used as output variables, while foreign investment, domestic investment, industrial land area, and the number of employees in the same year were used as input variables. The results of the analysis were as follows; The overall efficiency of the Free Trade Zones has generally been increasing since 2014. The efficiency was affected mainly by domestic demand-oriented efficiency rather than export-oriented efficiency. The efficiency gap among the 7 Free Trade Zones was relatively huge and they were mostly divided into by two groups, the favorable and the unfavorable. Therefore, it is highly recommended to increase the export-oriented efficiency of all the Tree Trade zones and further increase the overall efficiency of the unfavorable zones.

Effect of freezing on electrical properties and quality of thawed chicken breast meat

        Ran Wei,Peng Wang,Minyi Han,Tianhao Chen,Xinglian Xu,Guanghong Zhou 아세아·태평양축산학회 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.4

Objective: The objective of this research was to study the electrical properties and quality of frozen-thawed chicken breast meat and to investigate the relationship between these parameters at different times of frozen storage. Methods: Thawed samples of chicken breast muscles were evaluated after being kept in frozen storage at –18°C for different periods of time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 months). Results: The results showed that water-holding capacity (WHC) and protein solubility decreased while thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances content increased with increasing storage time. The impedance module of samples decreased during 8-month frozen storage. Pearson correlation coefficients showed that the impedance change ratio (Q value) was significantly (p<0.05) related to pH, color, WHC, lipid oxidation and protein solubility, indicating a good relationship between the electrical properties and qualities of frozen-thawed chicken breast meat. Conclusion: Impedance measurement has a potential to assess the quality of frozen chicken meat combining with quality indices.

        Tong Yang,Minmeng Zhao,Jiaolong Li,Lin Zhang,Yun Jiang,Guanghong Zhou,Feng Gao 아세아·태평양축산학회 2019 Animal Bioscience Vol.32 No.6

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of in ovo feeding (IOF) of creatine pyruvate (CrPyr) on the energy metabolism in thigh muscle of embryos and neonatal broilers. Methods: A total of 960 eggs were randomly assigned to three treatments: i) non-injected control group, ii) saline group injected with 0.6 mL of physiological saline (0.75%), and iii) CrPyr group injected with 0.6 mL of physiologi-cal saline (0.75%) containing 12 mg CrPyr/egg on 17.5 d of incubation. After hatching, 120 male chicks (close to the average body weight of the pooled group) in each group were randomly assigned to eight replications. The feeding experiment lasted 7 days. Results: The results showed that IOF of CrPyr increased glucose concentrations in the thigh muscle of broilers on 2 d after injection (p<0.05). Compared with the control and saline groups, the concentration of creatine in CrPyr group was increased on 2 d after injection and the day of hatch (p<0.05). Moreover, IOF of CrPyr increased the creatine kinase activity at hatch and increased the activities of hexokinase and pyruvate kinase on 2 d after injection and the day of hatch (p<0.05). Chicks in CrPyr group showed higher mRNA expressions of glucose transporter 3 (GLUT3) and GLUT8 on the day of hatch (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results demonstrated that IOF of CrPyr was beneficial to enhance muscle energy reserves of em-bryos and hatchlings.
