Background: Biocontrol agents are regarded as promising and environmental friendly approaches as agrochemicals for phytodiseases that cause serious environmental and health problems. Trichoderma species have been widely used in suppression of soil-borne pathogens. In this study, an endophytic fungus, Trichoderma gamsii YIM PH30019, from healthy Panax notoginseng root was investigated for its biocontrol potential. Methods: In vitro detached healthy roots, and pot and field experiments were used to investigate the pathogenicity and biocontrol efficacy of T. gamsii YIM PH30019 to the host plant. The antagonistic mechanisms against test phytopathogens were analyzed using dual culture, scanning electron microscopy, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Tolerance to chemical fertilizers was also tested in a series of concentrations. Results: The results indicated that T. gamsii YIM PH30019 was nonpathogenic to the host, presented appreciable biocontrol efficacy, and could tolerate chemical fertilizer concentrations of up to 20%. T. gamsii YIM PH30019 displayed antagonistic activities against the pathogenic fungi of P. notoginseng via production of VOCs. On the basis of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, VOCs were identified as dimethyl disulfide, dibenzofuran, methanethiol, ketones, etc., which are effective ingredients for antagonistic activity. T. gamsii YIM PH30019 was able to improve the seedlings' emergence and protect P. notoginseng plants from soil-borne disease in the continuous cropping field tests. Conclusion: The results suggest that the endophytic fungus T. gamsii YIM PH30019 may have a good potential as a biological control agent against notoginseng phytodiseases and can provide a clue to further illuminate the interactions between Trichoderma and phytopathogens.
A Relaxed Observer-based Control for LPV Stochastic Systems Subject to H∞ Performance
Guan-Wei Chen,Cheung-Chieh Ku 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.4
A relaxed observer-based control problem of the disturbed Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) stochastic systems is addressed in this paper. For the control problem, some sufficient conditions are derived via a Lyapunov function whose positive definite matrix is not required as the diagonal case. Besides, a general H∞ performance index is proposed to constrain the effect of external disturbance on the state and estimation error. Furthermore, a lemma is proposed to eliminate the oscillation caused by determining performance level of state and estimation error. Another lemma is developed via extending projection lemma to convert the derived conditions into strict Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) form. By using convex optimization algorithm, all feasible solutions can be obtained by a single-step calculation to establish an observer-based Gain-Scheduled (GS) controller. Based on the designed controller, the asymptotical stability and H∞ performance of the LPV stochastic systems can be guaranteed in the sense of mean square. Finally, two examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.

Background: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified various genetic susceptibility loci for breast cancer based mainly on European-ancestry populations. Differing linkage disequilibrium patterns exist between European and Asian populations. Methods: Ten SNPs (rs2075555 in COL1A1, rs12652447 in FBXL17, rs10941679 in 5p12/MRPS30, rs11878583 in ZNF577, rs7166081 in SMAD3, rs16917302 in ZNF365, rs311499 in 20q13.3, rs1045485 in CASP8, rs12964873 in CDH1 and rs8170 in 19p13.1) were here genotyped in 1009 Chinese females (487 patients with breast cancer and 522 control subjects) using the Sequenom MassARRAY iPLEX platform. Association analysis based on unconditional logistic regression was carried out to determine the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for each SNP. Stratification analyses were carried out based on the estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) status. Results: Among the 10 SNPs, rs10941679 showed significant association with breast cancer when differences between the case and control groups in this Han Chinese population were compared (30.09% GG, 45.4% GA and 23.7% AA; P = 0.012). Four SNPs (rs311499, rs1045485, rs12964873 and rs8170) showed no polymorphisms in our study. The remaining five SNPs showed no association with breast cancer in the present population. Immunohistochemical tests showed that rs2075555 was associated with ER status; the AA genotype showed greater association with ER negative than ER positive (OR = 0.54, 95% CI, 0.29-0.99; P = 0.046). AA of rs7166081 was also associated with ER status, but showed a greater association with ER positive than negative (OR = 1.59, 95% CI = 1.04-2.44; P = 0.031). However, no significant associations were found among the SNPs and PR status. Conclusion: In this study using a Han Chinese population, rs10941679 was the only SNP associated with breast cancer risk, indicating a difference between European and Chinese populations in susceptibility loci. Therefore, confirmation studies are necessary before utilization of these loci in Chinese.
Clinical Significance of Axin and β-catenin Protein Expression in Primary Hepatocellular Carcinomas
Guan, Cheng-Nong,Chen, Xin-Ming,Lou, Hai-Qing,Liao, Xiang-Hui,Chen, Bao-Ying,Zhang, Pei-Weng Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.2
The aim of the present research was to investigate clinicopathologic correlations of immunohistochemically-demonstrated axin (axis inhibition) and ${\beta}$-catenin expression in primary hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs), in comparison with paraneoplastic, cirrhotic and normal liver tissues. Variation in Axin expression across groups were significant (P < 0.01), correlating with alpha fetoprotein (AFP), HBsAg, cancer plugs in the portal vein, and clinical stage of HCCs(P < 0.05); however, there were no links with sex, age, and tumour size (P > 0.05). Differences in cell membrane ${\beta}$-catenin expression were also statistically significant (P < 0.01), again correlated with AFP, HBsAg, cancer plugs in the portal vein, and clinical stage in HCCs (P < 0.05) but not with sex, age, and tumour size (P > 0.05). Axin expression levels in tissues with reduced membrane ${\beta}$-catenin were low (P < 0.05), also being low with nuclear ${\beta}$-catenin expression (P < 0.05). Axin and ${\beta}$-catenin may play an important role in the genesis and progression of HCC via the Wnt signal transmission pathway. Simultaneous determination of axin, ${\beta}$-catenin, AFP, and HBsAg may be useful for early diagnosis, and metastatic and clinical staging of HCCs.

Exercise dosage is proven to be an important factor in the physical treatment. Robot assistive approach can improve the rehabilitation quality and evaluate patient’s recovery quantitatively. This paper presents kinematic structure, assistive control system, and integrated F/T sensor for an upper limb rehabilitation robot. By using the human arm dynamic, there are three rehabilitation modes presented in this paper: active mode, assistive mode, and passive mode. In assistive mode, we have two strategies to implement it. One is to amplify interactive torque, and the other is to apply assist-as-needed concept. The goal of this mode is to assist patients to finish motion tasks. The rehabilitation robot under investigation has 7 degree of freedom (DOF) actuated by DC motors, which are programmed to drive the robot arm in the 3D space. To validate our control design, some realistic experiments are conducted and its satisfactory performance is demonstrated. This work is approved clinical testing by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan, R.O.C. So far, we are demonstrating the effect of our controller.
Modeling and Emulation of 3d Dither Stability in Orthogonal Turn-Milling
Yueqi Guan,Hanqing Guan,Gaoshen Wang,Rongling Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.6
Aiming at 4-axial orthogonal turn-milling by end mill, its theoretical 3d model for stable range of dither was put forward on the basis of its cutting principle by using analytical method. Based on modal trial, the stable range leaf figure of end mill’s dither in 4-axial turn-milling with eccentricity was simulated and analyzed. The results show that besides geometrical shape of mill, material of workpiece and frequency response function of machine-tool’s structure etc that can produce dither in 4-axial turn-milling, the rotating speed of mill and cutting depth are also related to dither. In trial of 4-axial turn-milling by end mill, the results of cutting force spectrum analysis show that: cutting is stable and un-dither when frequency of cutter tooth cutting-in plays leading role in force spectrum. Dither is produced when modal frequency of system plays leading role in force spectrum, the measured value of cutting force and surface roughness are also higher than those in the condition of un-dither. Thus the theoretical model and results of emulation can predict stability of end mill’s dither in 4-axial orthogonal turn-milling with eccentricity correctly and can provide theoretical guidance for surface quality and processing efficiency of workpiece.
Effects of β Air Cooling and Subsequent Cold Rolling on Microstructure and Hardness of Zr702 Sheet
Haotian Guan,Lingguo Zeng,Zhijun Li,Linjiang Chai,Yufan Zhu,Yueyuan Wang,Qin Huang,Ke Chen,Liang‑yu Chen,Ning Guo 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.2
In this work, a Zr702 sheet was subjected to β air cooling and then rolled to 15% reduction at room temperature, with theirdetailed microstructural characteristics characterized by electron channeling contrast imaging and electron backscatterdiffraction techniques. Results show that after the β air cooling, the prior equiaxed grains in the as-received material arecompletely transformed into Widmanstätten structures featured by coarse plates with typical phase transformation misorientationsbetween them. The subsequent 15% rolling allows both slip and twinning (especially the {10–12} type) to beactivated readily, leading to significant grain refinement and the appearance of misorientation angle peaks around 3°–5° and85°. Analyses on kernel average misorientations reveal that there exist very low residual strains in the β-air-cooled specimenwhile they are markedly increased after the 15% rolling and preferably distributed near low-angle and twin boundaries. Hardnessmeasurements show that the specimen hardness is evidently decreased from ~ 199 to ~ 170 HV after the β air cooling, which can be attributed to grain coarsening and the scattered orientations associated with the slow β → α transformation. For the 15%-rolled specimen, however, effective grain refinement by twinning and denser low-angle boundaries jointly leadto ~ 35% hardness increment to ~ 228 HV.
