Characterization of LC3 and p62 on Rat Prostate Lobe in Benign Prostate Hyperplasia Animal Model

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is disease characterized by abnormal prostate cell proliferation. Rat models of testosterone propionate (TP)-induced BPH are the most popular experimental models for studying BPH. In rats, the prostate is located below the base of the urinary bladder and comprises four distinct lobes - ventral, lateral, dorsal, and anterior. Autophagy associated with cellular homeostasis has been studied in relation to BPH. Microtubule-associated proteins 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3B) and sequestosome 1 (p62) are key markers of autophagy flux. However, the expression and localization of LC3B and p62 have not been elucidated in rats with testosterone-induced BPH. This study investigated the expression and specific localization of the two autophagy markers mentioned. Fifteen Sprague-Dawley rats were classified into three groups: normal control (N.C.), BPH (TP 5 mg/kg), and Fina (TP+finasteride 10 mg/kg). To evaluate the expression of the autophagy markers in BPH, hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemistry were performed for LC3B and p62. Both LC3B expression and p62 expression were higher in the anterior lobe than other areas. In addition, there was no significant difference in the dorsal lobe LC3B expression among the N.C., BPH, and Fina groups. In the lateral lobe, LC3B expression was decreased in the BPH group and increased in the Fina group. p62 expression in the BPH and Fina groups increased compared to that in the N.C. group. In the ventral lobe of the prostate, LC3B expression was lower in the BPH group, whereas it was higher in the Fina group. On the other hand, p62 expression increased in the BPH group, whereas it was lower in the Fina group similar to those observed in the N.C. group. Autophagy was suppressed in the BPH group, whereas it was induced in the ventral lobe in the Fina group. Based on our finding, we suggest that autophagy is a critical process in BPH. In particular, the ventral lobe of the rat prostate could be a potential target site for evaluating the therapeutic effects of BPH treatment in animal models.

무선 센서 네트워크 라우팅 프로토콜에서의 경로탐색에서 중복 브로드캐스트 메시지에 의한 비용이 증가되고, 많은 노드들이 동시에 통신을 시도하기 때문에 많은 충돌이 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 Directed Diffusion 라우팅 방법에 지향성 안테나를 도입하여 채널 이용율을 높여 통신에서의 충돌을 줄이고 네트워크 구성 및 유지 시 사용될 flooding의 범위와 노드간의 통신시 불필요한 방향으로의 통신을 최소화하여 중복되는 브로드캐스트 메시지 수를 줄일 수 있는 라우팅 방법을 제안한다.

This paper examines templestay as a Religious-cultural Phenomena for experience of the Korean Buddhist culture. Taking opportunity of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup Games as a momentum, temple stay was introduced as a tourism resource providing opportunities for first-hand experiences of Korean Buddhism, not as a particular religion but as a representative carrier of Korean traditional culture. Its primary target was foreign tourists. but it has appeared to be attractive to Koreans. too. Such characteristics reveal that temple stay is not a mere product of tourism industry but a dynamic carrier of the various cultural trends of contemporary society. The most important factor that has contributed to the popularity of templestay popular is that it provides an opportunity for alternative spiritual experience: Participants can experience the solemn and serene religious life through performance of various Buddhist rituals and. above all, meditation, without being forced to have commitment to the Buddhist faith. Temple stay programs provide them with an opportunity to step out of their busy and turbulent routine of everyday life and experience the alternative life of reflective meditation. ascetic simplicity and self-cultivation so that they may develope new sensitivity and perspective to the world. life and themselves. In conclusion. it is confirmed that temple stay plays various significant roles in accordance with the changing milieu of contemporary religion and society. As a kind of tourism and wellbeing product on the one hand. and as an opportunity for alternative religious or spiritual experience. temple stay can be a dynamic channel for creation of a new religious culture requested by contemporary society.

This report is intended to analyze Park-Kyung Ri`s early short stories from a family narration viewpoint. The family narration in terms of the socialization of the family is important in understanding the ideological basis which supported the society. The characteristic of Park-Kyung Ri`s early short stories is the disorganization of the family best plotted and revealed in them. The incomplete form of the family. well brought out by postwar novels, has a sort of symbolic meaning, in which the writer viewed the postwar life. The focus of the family narration is on the maternal family`s life caused by the death of the paternal line, not on the paternal family in the patriarchal system. The maternal family narration deals with mother`s love, which is different from the paternal perspective. While an androcentric narration admires a self-sacrificial mother`s affection in the patriarchal ideology. Park-Kyung Ri`s searching for a reasonable. egoistic mother`s love. But the woman who plays a man`s role is faced with double pressure. In other words, she faces sex discrimination and economic difficulty in supporting the family. In a situation like this. the daughters have a miserable childhood suffering from the loss of their father and separation anxiety with their mother. Later this has an psychological repression effect on them, which causes mental disorder and further makes them isolate themselves from the society. The writer doesn`t tempts to compromise with the irrational reality as a characteristic of maternal family narration. The matter of family socialization has to widen its scope to the analysis of the family`s relation with the reality. In this respect, the writer denies the compromise with irrational reality by means of isolation from the reality, not by immediate restoration of the family, and therefore can keep a distance from the reality. Thus, the writer makes a new trend of the maternal family narration that in irrational society and disorganization of family. makes a point of the pursuit of family lives in intrinsic nature.

김치에 첨가되는 소금, 고추. 젓갈 등 재료의 종류와 첨가량. 숙성 기간을 달리한 김치를 제조하여 이화학적 성질과 관능검사를 실시하였다. 김치의 pH는 제조당일에는 건고추군의 김치가 다른군 김치보다 높게 나타났고, 생갈은고추군과 건고추군의 새우젓군 김치가 높게 나타났다. 숙성 3일은 모든 김치의 pH가 급격히 감소하였고, 숙성 기간이 길어지면서 점차 감소하였다. 김치의 염도는 양념 조건에 관계없이 숙성 5일까지 약간 감소하는 정도였고, 숙성은 염도의 변화에 영향을 주지 않았다. .김치의 적정산도는 양념 조건에 따라 약간의 차이를 보여 제조당일은 혼합고추군. 멸치 액젓군 김치가 다른 김치보다 현저하게 높았고, 숙성 적기인 5일에는 고추의 종류에 관계없이 새우젓군 김치가 더 높은 값을 나타냈다. 김치의 아스코르브산의 변화는 모든 김치에서 숙성 초기와 숙성적기 이후에 급격한 감소를 보였다. 관능검사 결과를 종합적으로 비교해 보면 외관과 색을 건갈은고추군 김치가 낮게 나타났고, 신맛은 고추의 종류에 상관없이 젓갈군에서 강하게 평가되었으며 탄산미 또한 젓갈군이 높게 평가받았고 특히 멸치젓군이 새우젓군보다 약간 높았다. 짠맛은 혼합젓갈군이 가장 강했다. 조직감은 생갈은고추군과 멸치액젓군 김치가 가장 좋았고 건갈은고추과 대조군 김치가 가장 낮았다. 이취는 건갈은고추군 김치가 낮게 나타났고 생갈은고추군의 대조군 김치와 혼합고추군의 새우젓군 김치가 강하게 나타났다. 종합적인 맛은 생갈은고추군, 혼합고추군, 건갈은고추군 순서 이있으며 젓갈군 김치가 대조군 김치보다 월등히 높게 나타났으나 젓갈의 종류에는 크게 영향 받지 않았다. This study was conducted to examine the additive effects of the kinds and the levels of red pepper, fermented seafoods(anchovies and shrimps), on the properties of Kimchis for 9 days at 18℃ fermentation. The pH of all Kimchis decreased during fermentation, raw red pepper, dried red pepper and fermented shrimps added Kimchis was higher. Salinity of Kimchis was 2.34∼2.55%(w/w) and titratable acidity were higher in mixed red pepper and fermented anchovy added Kimchis than others. Ascorbic acid contents of all Kimchis were decreased as fermentation increased. Through all fermentation period, appearance & color was the worst in dried red pepper added Kimchis, sourness and saltiness were higher in fermented seafoods added Kimchis than others, carbonated flavor was higher fermented anchovies than fermented shrimps added Kimchis, texture had the highest scores in raw red pepper, fermented anchovies added Kimchis, the lowest scores in dried red pepper, deleted fermented seafoods added Kimchis. Off-flavor was higher in raw red pepper, deleted fermented seafoods added Kimchis and mixed red pepper, fermented shrimps added Kimchis than others, overall eating quality was decreased raw red pepper added Kimchis > mixed red pepper added Kimchis > dried red pepper added Kimchis.
광주지역 일부 초등학교 저학년 아동의 식습관과 영양소 섭취량 및 혈액성상에 관한 연구

광주시에 있는 한 초등학교에 재학중인 9세의 학생 136명을 조사 대상으로 식습관과 영양소 섭취량 및 혈액 성상에 관한 연구 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. 조사 대상자의 연령은 9세로 남자가 76명, 여자가 60명으로 평균 신장은 123.3cm였고, 평균 체중은 24.4㎏이었으며, 평균 가슴둘레는 49.9㎜. 평균 앉은 키는 67.6㎜를 나타냈다. 2. 조사 대상자의 헤마토크리트치는 36.0%로 기준치와 거의 비슷하였고, 백혈구는 6.8×10exp(3)/㎣을 나타냈고, 적혈구는 4.5×10exp(6)/㎣이었다. 헤모글로빈은 12.7g/dl로 기준치보다 약간 높았다. GOT는 23.1unit였고, GPT는 14.7unit였다. 혈액 중의 콜레스테롤 함량은 170.9㎎/dl로 정상 범위였다. 3. 조사 대상자의 식습관 조사 결과 학년이 올라갈수록 식사시간이 불규칙해지고 식품의 배합이나 균형을 생각지 않고 섭취하고 있었으며 맵거나 짜게먹고 있었고 아침 식사를 거르는 비율이 높게 나타났다. 4, 조사 대상자의 열량 섭취량은 1,306㎉를 섭취하였고, 단백질 섭취량은 47.9g, 지방섭취량은 28.8g 이었으며 섬유소 섭취량은 ,3.9g이었다. 칼슘의 섭취량은 446.9㎎이었으며 인의 섭취량은 835.0㎎이었고, 철분의 섭취량은 7.9㎎, 나트륨의 섭취량은 3,721.0㎎이었고, 칼륨의 섭취량은 1,863.5㎎ 이었다. 비타민 A의 섭취량은 362.3RE, 비타민 B_1은 0.8㎎, 비타민 B-2는 0.7㎎, 나이아신은 10.8NE, 비타민 C는 93.9㎎ 및 콜레스테롤 섭취량은 173.5㎎이었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 에너지, 단백질. 칼슘, 철분, 비타민 A 등 대부분의 영양소 섭취량이 권장량에 미치지 못하여 성장기에 있는 아동들의 영양소 섭취 상태에 문제가 있음을 시사해 주었다. 5. 조사 대상자의 식습관과 영양소 섭취량의 상관관계는 식사시간의 규칙성은 단백질, 식이성 섬유소. 비타민 A및 티아민 섭취량과 양의 상관을 나트륨 섭취량과는 음의 상관관계가 있었다. 음식의 간(염도)은 인과 콜레스테롤 섭취와 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 들깨가루나 들기름 사용 여부는 열량. 탄수화물 및 인의 섭취량과 음의 상관을, 지방, 철분, 리보플라빈 및 나이아신 섭취량과는 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 결식 여부는 지방. 철분 및 나이아신 섭취량과는 양의 상관관계를. 열량, 탄수화물. 인, 나트륨 및 콜레스테롤 섭취량과는 음의 상관을 보였다. 외식의 빈도수는 단백질, 지방, 식이성 섬유소, 철분, 레티놀, 티아민, 리보플라빈 및 나이아신 섭취량과 음의 상관을 보였다. 이상의 연구 결과 9세 아동의 체위와 혈액 성상은 정상 범위에 속하며, 연령이 증가할수록 바람직하지 않은 식습관을 나타내었고, 에너지, 단백질, 칼슘, 비타민A등 대부분의 영양소 섭취량이 권장량에 미치지 못하였고, 특히 칼슘과 비타민 A의 섭취 증가가 요구되었다. 또한 식사시간이 규칙적일수록 단백질, 식이성 섬유소, 레티놀 및 티아민의 섭취량이 높았고, 식사 양이 많을수록 리보플라빈 섭취량이 많았으며, 맵고 짜게 먹을수록 인과 콜레스테롤 섭취량이 높았으며, 들기름을 사용하지 않을수록 열량과 탄수화물 섭취량이 많았고, 외식의 빈도수가 높을수록 단백질, 지방등의 섭취량이 높게 나타났다. 특히 초등학교 고학년 학생들의 불규칙적인 식사습관, 소금 섭취량 및 외식의 빈도수가 여러 영양소 섭취상태에 영향을 주고 있음을 확인할 수 있었고 따라서 성장이 왕성한 학동기에 균형잡힌 좋은 식습관과 규칙적으로 가정에서 식사할 수 있도록 특별한 관심을 가져야 함을 시사해 주었다. The purpose of this study was to examine height, weight, chest circumference, sitting height, hematological status, eating behaviors and nutrient intakes for the lower grade primary school children in Gwangju. The subjects consisted of 76 boys and 60 girls aged 9 years old. Height, Weight, Chest circumference, Sitting height, Hct, WBC, RBC, Hb, serum GOT, GPT and cholesterol were measured. With regard to regularity of meal time, 66.7% of the subjects has been 'regular'. With regard to amount of eaten food, 100.0% of the subjects has been 'moderate'. With regard to nutritional balance, 66.6% of the subjects has been 'think, but do not practice'. The study also found that 100.0% of the subjects skipped breakfast, liked korean food. Their dietary intake wase assesed for 1 day by means of 24 hours dietary recall method. The mean energy intake of the subjects was 1,306 kcal. The subjects consumed 47.9g protein, 28.8g lipid, 3.9g fiber, 446.9mg calcium, 835,0mg phosphorous, 7.9mg iron, 3,721mg sodium, 1,863mg potassium, 362.3RE retinol, 0.8mg thiamin, 1.1mg riboflavin, 10.8NE niacin, 93.9mg ascorbic acid and 173.5mg cholesterol respectively. Energy, protein, calcium, iron, retinol, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin intake was lower than the Korean RDA. There were positive correlations between meal time and protein intake or fat intake or fiber intake or iron intake or retinol intake : negative correlations between meal time and sodium intake : negative correlations between saltiness and cholesterol intake : positive correlations between use of perilla seeds and riboflavin intake or niacin intake : negative correlations between energy intake or carbohydrate intake or phosphorous intake : negative correlations between frequency of eating-out and protein intake or fat intake or fiber intake or iron intake or retinol intake or thiamin intake or riboflavin intake or niacin intake.
무안군 주민의 양파와 영양소 섭취 실태 및 혈청 지질 농도의 분포에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to investigate the anthropometric variables, dietary behaviors, nutrient intakes and distribution of serum lipid levels for Muan-gun inhabitants. The subjects was consisted of 212 men and 317 women. There were significant differences in the height, weight, BMI and fat mass with ages. In the onion intake status, 90.6(79.9)% of men(women) liked. 56.8(46.4)% of men(women) intakes 3 times per day, 29.6(40.8)% of men (women) 50g per one time and 83.1(87.5) % of men(women) after cooking. The mean energy intake of the subjects were 2,043㎉ for men and 2,105㎉ for women. Men(women) consumed 88(90)g protein, 34(38)g lipid, 340(355)g carbohydrate, 10.5(11.7)g fiber, 655(757)㎎ calcium, 1,396(1,421)㎎ phosphorous, 14,7(15.9)㎎ iron, 7,061(7,244)㎎ sodium, 3,597 (3,704)㎎ potassium, 1.983(1,369)RE retinol, 1.4 (1.5)㎎ thiamin, 1.1(1.4)㎎ riboflavin, 19.4 (20.4)NE niacin, 172(160)㎎ ascorbic acid and 232(239)㎎ cholesterol, respectively. The level of triglyceride(TG) was 136.0(114.2)㎎/dl, total cholesterol(TC) was 179.1(174.9)㎎/dl, HDL-C was 43.3(43.3)㎎/dl, LDL-C was 109.6(107.9)㎎/dl. VLDL-C was 26.8(22.8)㎎/dl and Al was 3.2(3.0). And 68.1(79.0)% of men(women) were assessed as Normocholesterolemia(NC) and 66.2(69.9)% of men(women) as Normotriglyceridemia(NTG). Most of the subjects in Muan-gun preferred and ate onions routinely and had normal range of serum cholesterol and triglyceride level. Therefore it is suggested that intake of onions is effective for decreasing the serum cholesterol and TG levels.

We investigated the physicochemical properties, chemical composition, stability and antioxidant activityfrom seed oil of Salicornia herbaciea grown in Korea. The density, refractive index, acid value, peroxide value, iodinevalue, saponification value, and unsaponifiable matter of oil were 0.91 mg/mL, 1.48 at 20 oC, 1.89 mg KOH/g oil, 10.20mEq/kg oil, 1.08 g I/g oil, 216.21 mg KOH/g oil, and 2.60%, respectively. The major fatty acids were linoleic acid(43.73%), oleic acid (19.81%), arachidic acid (13.52%), and palmitic acid (11.84%), respectively. The oil containedhigh levels of α-tocopherol (249.2 mg/kg oil), followed by δ-tocopherol (89.3 mg/kg), and γ-tocopherol (75.6 mg/kgoil). The oil was found to have high levels of β-sitosterol (94.5 mg/kg oil) and stigmasterol (65.7 mg/kg oil), respectively. The total phenol, chlorophyll and β-carotene content of oil was 15.2, 94.5, and 8.2 mg/kg oil, respectively. The oil hadgood oxidative stability during 60 days of storage in a dark area at 50 oC. The maximum degradation rates of the oilwere observed at 242.3 oC (9.5%/min), 382.6 oC (5.2%/min), and 440.7 oC (1.3%/min), respectively, where the rateof the weight decrease increased to a maximum up to this point. The ABTS radical scavenging activity of the oil wasincreased from 50.2 to 71.8% when the oil concentration extracted by methanol was increased from 100 to 300 µg/mL. This study suggests that S. herbaciea seed oil has potential use in functional foods, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals.
Autophagy localization and cytoprotective role in cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury

Autophagy is a fundamental cellular process that maintains homeostasis and cell integrity, under stress conditions. Although the involvement of autophagy in various conditions has been elucidated, the role of autophagy in renal structure is not completely clarified. Our aim was to investigate the cytoprotective effect of autophagy against acute kidney injury (AKI) through cisplatin deteriorative pathway, which leads to AKI via renal cell degradation. For in vivo experiments, male Sprague Dawley rats were divided in to 2 groups (n = 6/group) as control, Cis-5D. Following a single intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin, rats were sacrificed after 5 days. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr) and histological alterations were examined. Further, expression of key regulators of autophagy, light-clain 3 (LC3), p62, and Beclin1, was evaluated by immunohistochemistry (IHC). The rats exhibited severe renal dysfunction, indicated by elevated BUN, Cr. Hematoxylin and eosin staining revealed histological damages in cisplatin-treated rats. Furthermore, IHC analysis revealed increased expression of LC3, Beclin1 and decreased expression of p62. Furthermore, expression of aforementioned autophagy markers was restricted to proximal tubule. Taken together, our study demonstrated that cisplatin can cause nephrotoxicity and lead to AKI. This phenomenon accelerated autophagy in renal proximal tubules and guards against AKI.
