      • Poster Session : PS 0319 ; Hematology : Combination of Factor XIII Defi ciency and Connective Tissue Dysplasia

        ( Gennady Storozhakov ),( Elena Reznik ),( Maria Komissarova ),( Sergey Lepkov ),( Gennady Gendlin ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: Factor XIII defi ciency is an extremely rare inherited blood disorder characterized by abnormal blood clotting that may result in abnormal bleeding. Connective tissue dysplasias comprise a heterogeneous group of diseases, characterized by fragility of the soft connective tissues and widespread manifestations in skin, ligaments, joints, blood vessels and internal organs. Combination of factor XIII defi ciency and connective tissue dysplasia wasn`t described well. Case report: 30-years-old man presented to the emergency department complaining of progressive pain in left part of back and left part of abdomen, syncope, weakness, and dysuria. Patient had no history of a bruising or bleeding tendency and any injury. The massive left side retroperitoneal hematoma was revealed after screening tests. Patient was promptly taken for surgical evacuation of the hematoma. Left kidney and vessel damage wasn`t found out during the operation. The multiple plasma transfusions, comprehensive medical therapy, hemodialysis were used in the postoperative period. Despite the procedures the patient was unstable. Diagnostic work-up was unremarkable for global coagulation and platelet tests, but factor XIII activity was decreased to 36%. Repeated examination of patient (ultrasound, computed tomography imaging) revealed the massive right side retroperitoneal hematoma, bleeding in the abdomen, hemothorax, hemopericardium. Patient was promptly taken for relaparotomy, abdominoscopy, retroperitoneal space revision, hemostatic procedures. Despite the treatment the patient died during two weeks due to multiple organ failure. Autopsy revealed undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia. Conclusions: In this case we have fatal combination of two rare diseases: factor XIII defi ciency and connective tissue dysplasia. The attention to the possibility of such combination may help promptly prescribe the right treatment to patients.

Luminescent Properties of ZnO/MgO Nanocrystal/Polymer Composite Structure

        Gennady N. Panin,Andrey N. Baranov,Irina A. Khotina,Tae W. Kang 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.5

We report on cathodoluminescence (CL) studies of the composite nanostructure obtained by spin coating of a mixture of chemically-deposited ZnO/MgO nanocrystals and a solution processable polymer (PDPV) on a Si substrate with patterned gold electrodes. The effect of an electric field on the CL of the nanostructure was studied at various bias voltages on the electrodes. A positive voltage suppressed the blue-green emission and shifted the emission maximum to the red region. The emission maximum returned to the blue-green region after the eld had been turned off. A model of the electric-field-induced color switching in the ZnO/polymer-based nanostructure is proposed. The bias-voltage-induced interface band bending and the deactivation of the radiative centers, in particular, singly-ionized oxygen vacancies in ZnO nanocrystals, are suggested to govern the relative changes of the blue-green-red emissions. Spatially-Resolved Study of Magnetic Properties of Mn-Doped ZnO Quantum Wires

Gennady Panin,Andrey Baranov,Hyun Jeong Kim,Seung Ki Min,강태원 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.50 No.6

ZnO nanowires prepared by thermal growth following direct chemical synthesis and doped by Mn and by Mn and Sn impurities were investigated. The nanowires show a single crystal structure and a strong blue shift of the near band edge luminescence, which is attributed to the quantum confinement effect. The magnetic susceptibility of the quantum wires as a function of temperature demonstrated a Curie-Weiss behavior. Hysteresis with a coercive field $<$200 Oe was clearly observed in the magnetization versus field curves at 300 K. Increasing the Mn concentration by Mn and Sn co-doping significantly increased the magnetic hysteresis and the ferromagnetic behavior of the nanowires. Magnetic force microscopy measurements with high spatial resolution revealed a magnetic domain structure in the individual wires. The magnetic domains align perpendicular to the surface and can be controlled by using an external magnetic field.

Economic and Mathematical Methods for Ranking Eastern European Universities

        Gennady Osipov,Svetlana Karepova,Vadim Ponkratov,Alan Karaev,Andrey Masterov,Marina Vasiljeva 대한산업공학회 2020 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.19 No.1

Assigning accurate qualitative ratings to Eastern European higher education institutions is critical in the face of high student mobility and competition with similar institutions in the USA, Central Europe, and Canada. This article aims to develop a methodological economic and mathematical approach to rating higher education institutions in Eastern European countries. An indicator system of the integral assessment of the education quality in Eastern Europe, considering the specific characteristics of national higher education systems, was formed during the research with the help of experts and taxonomic methods. A group of rating indicators of universities and their significance in determining the university’s ranking was substantiated. Using regression analysis, a multifactor model was developed to determine the rating of higher education institutions in the countries studied. The analysis demonstrates that the universities of Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland are dominant in Eastern Europe. The study’s practical implementation can serve as a reference point and incentive for encouraging higher education institutions to provide a higher quality of education.

      • Use of unmanned aerial systems for communication and air mobility in Arctic region

        Gennady V., Chechin,Valentin E., Kolesnichenko,Anton I., Selin Techno-Press 2022 Advances in aircraft and spacecraft science Vol.9 No.6

The current state of telecommunications infrastructure in the Arctic does not allow providing a wide range of required services for people, businesses and other categories, which necessitates the use of non-traditional approaches to its organization. The paper proposes an innovative approach to building a combined communication network based on tethered high-altitude platform station (HAPS) located at an altitude of 1-7 km and connected via radio channels with terrestrial and satellite communication networks. Network configuration and composition of telecommunication equipment placed on HAPS and located on the terrestrial and satellite segment of the network was justified. The availability of modern equipment and the distributed structure of such an integrated network will allow, unlike existing networks (Iridium, Gonets, etc.), to organize personal mobile communications, data transmission and broadband Internet up to 100 Mbps access for mobile and fixed subscribers, rapid transmission of information from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). A substantiation of the possibility of achieving high network capacity in various paths is presented: inter-platform radio links, subscriber radio links, HAPS feeder lines - terrestrial network gateway, HAPS radio links - satellite retransmitter (SR), etc. The economic efficiency of the proposed solution is assessed.

Neutron yield and energy spectrum of 13C(alpha,n) 16O reaction in liquid scintillator of KamLAND: A Nedis-2m simulation

        Gennady N. Vlaskin,Sergey V. Bedenko,Nima Ghal-Eh,Hector R. Vega-Carrillo 한국원자력학회 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.12

The 13C (a,n)16O reaction cross-section is important data for nuclear physics, astrophysical, and neutrinophysics experiments, however, they exhibit uncertainties due to the discrepancies in the experimentaldata. In this study, using the Nedis-2m program code, the energy spectrum of a-induced neutrons in athin carbon target was calculated and the corresponding reaction cross-section was refined in the alphaparticle energy range of 5e8 MeV. The results were used to calculate the intensity and energy spectrumof background neutrons produced in the liquid scintillator of KamLAND. The results will be useful in avariety of astrophysical and neutrino experiments especially those based on LS or Gd-LS detectors.
