Fabrication and Interface Structural Behavior of Mg/Al Thickness-Oriented Bonding Sheet via Direct Extrusion

        Lei Gao,Feng Li,Ye Wang,Xing Mao Xiao,Peng Da Huo 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.8

Solid-state bonding of heterogeneous materials is one of the effective ways to achieve light weight. An extrusion formingprocess for Mg/Al thickness-oriented bonding sheet was carried out. Due to triaxial compressive stress in the extrusion container, the AZ31 and AA6061 billets were deformed and the bonding and forming of Mg/Al thickness-oriented sheet can berealized by this method. The observation results of the bonding position by using XRD, SEM and EDS showed that: at theforming temperature with 360–420 °C, it had a good bonding interface, and the width of the transition layer increased withthe increase of the forming temperature. The presence of brittle intermetallic compounds in the transition layer indicated thatmetallurgical bonding had occurred at the interface. Considering all factors comprehensively, when the forming temperaturewas 390 °C, the bonding quality was appropriate. Its tensile-shear strength was 42 MPa, the width of the interface transitionlayer was about 10 μm, and the microhardness was about 164.3 HV. This method provided scientific guidance and technicalreserves for green forming of Mg/Al sheets.

Systematical characterization of functional and antioxidative properties of heat-induced polymerized whey proteins

        Feng Gao,Xuefei Zhang,Jiaqi Wang,Xiaomeng Sun,Cuina Wang 한국식품과학회 2018 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.27 No.6

Effects of pH (6–8), protein concentration (6–11%, w/v), heating temperature (70–95 C) and time (5–30 min) on functional and antioxidative properties of heat-induced polymerized whey protein were systematically investigated. All samples were determined for solubility at pH 4.6, emulsion capacity and stability, and antioxidative properties involving 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,20-azinobis(2-ethylbenzothiazoline- 6-sulfonate) (ABTS) scavenging abilities. Heating resulted in significant loss in solubility, emulsion capacity and stability for whey protein, p\0.05. Heating decreased DPPH but enhanced ABTS scavenging ability for whey protein significantly, p\0.05. Changes caused by pH variation were much stronger than those observed for other factors. Both protein concentration and heating time had negative effects while heating temperature had positive effect on emulsion capacity of whey protein. Data indicates that functional and antioxidative properties of whey protein could be altered by factors including pH, protein concentration, heating temperature and time.

Control of Large Model Mismatch Systems using Multiple Models

        Feng Gao,Dongfang Dang,Shengbo Eben Li,맹추 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.4

H∞ control is an effective approach to handle model uncertainties. However, when modeling mismatchis large, it tends to be challenging to meet the desired requirements of both stability and performance by only usinga single H∞ controller. This study presents a switching method to enhance the robust stability and performanceof H∞ control by dividing the range of dynamics into multiple uncertain models. The candidate robust controllersare designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities for each uncertain model. A structural scheduling logicthat selects the most proper controller into closed-loop is proposed. The selected controller can ensure boundedexponentially weighted H∞ norm of the closed-loop switching systems. This work analyses their robust stabilityand disturbance attenuation performance via a linear fractional transformation by using the small gain theorem. Theeffectiveness of this method is validated with a fist-order inertial system with pure time delay.

Effect of Different Tumbling Marination Methods and Time on the Water Status and Protein Properties of Prepared Pork Chops

        Gao, Tian,Li, Jiaolong,Zhang, Lin,Jiang, Yun,Yin, Maowen,Liu, Yang,Gao, Feng,Zhou, Guanghong Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2015 Animal Bioscience Vol.28 No.7

The combined effect of tumbling marination methods (vacuum continuous tumbling marination, CT; vacuum intermittent tumbling marination, IT) and effective tumbling time (4, 6, 8, and 10 h) on the water status and protein properties of prepared pork chops was investigated. Results showed that regardless of tumbling time, CT method significantly decreased the muscle fiber diameter (MD) and significantly increased the total moisture content, product yield, salt soluble proteins (SSP) solubility, immobilized water component (p<0.05) compared with IT method. With the effective tumbling time increased from 4 h to 10 h, the fat content and the MD were significantly decreased (p<0.05), whereas the SSP solubility of prepared pork chops increased firstly and then decreased. Besides, an interactive effect between CT method and effective tumbling time was also observed for the chemical composition and proportion of immobilized water (p<0.05). These results demonstrated that CT method of 8 h was the most beneficial for improving the muscle structure and water distribution status, increasing the water-binding capacity and accelerating the marinade efficiency of pork chops; and thus, it should be chosen as the most optimal treatment method for the processing production of prepared pork chops.

Effect of Different Tumbling Marination Treatments on the Quality Characteristics of Prepared Pork Chops

        Gao, Tian,Li, Jiaolong,Zhang, Lin,Jiang, Yun,Ma, Ruixue,Song, Lei,Gao, Feng,Zhou, Guanghong Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2015 Animal Bioscience Vol.28 No.2

The effect of different tumbling marination treatments (control group, CG; conventional static marination, SM; vacuum continuous tumbling marination, CT; vacuum intermittent tumbling marination, IT) on the quality characteristics of prepared pork chops was investigated under simulated commercial conditions. The CT treatment increased (p<0.05) the pH value, $b^*$ value, product yield, tenderness, overall flavor, sensory juiciness and overall acceptability in comparison to other treatments for prepared boneless pork chops. The CT treatment decreased (p<0.05) cooking loss, shear force value, hardness, gumminess and chewiness compared with other treatments. In addition, CT treatment effectively improved springiness and sensory color more than other treatments. However, IT treatment achieved the numerically highest (p<0.05) $L^*$ and $a^*$ values. These results suggested that CT treatment obtained the best quality characteristics of prepared pork chops and should be adopted as the optimal commercial processing method for this prepared boneless pork chops.

      • Name and Maintain Topological Faces in Rotating and Scanning Features

        Gao Xue-Yao,Li Jia-Qi,Guo Hao,Gao Yun-Feng,Liu Yu-Hong 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.3

Features created in rotating and scanning operations are very complex. Naming and identifying their topological faces is an important problem in CAD fields. In this paper, a new method of coding topological faces in rotating and scanning features is proposed. Firstly, contour segments are numbered. Secondly, an angle between contour segment and rotating axis is computed. Thirdly, all topological faces are named based on contour segments’ numbers, rotating axis and other information. When a face splits and several subfaces merge, a method of processing their codes is given. The proposed method is applied to HUST-CAID feature modeling system. Experimental results show that it can name and identify topological faces effectively in operations.

VEHICLE-LEVEL ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY PREDICTION BASED ON MULTI-PORT NETWORK THEORY

        Feng Gao,Hanzhe Dai,Jiawei Qi,Zilong Wang 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.6

This paper proposes a new methodology based on the multi-port network theory to predict the vehicle-level electromagnetic compatibility performance. The original EMC problem is firstly converted to a network by separating the electrical large structures and electrical small components. The impedance is proposed to describe the coupling process of network to eliminate the influence of port impedance on network. Based on this network model, the relationship between the exciting sources and the sensitive components is set up using the multi-port network theory. Furthermore, some application problems, such as measurement of parameters, are also discussed. After validated by a bench test, this methodology for vehicle level electromagnetic compatibility was further applied to predict and improve the low frequency radiated emission of an electric vehicle. The application results show that it can be used to predict electromagnetic interference and analyze the main exciting source satisfactorily.

DISTRIBUTED H∞ CONTROL OF PLATOON INTERACTED BY SWITCHING AND UNDIRECTED TOPOLOGY

Feng Gao,Fan-xia Lin,Bao Liu 한국자동차공학회 2020 International journal of automotive technology Vol.21 No.1

To deal with the challenges caused by the weakness of wireless communication, this paper presents a distributed H ∞ control strategy for platooning of automatic vehicles (AVs) connected by switching and undirected topologies. With the compensation of the powertrain nonlinearities by an inverse model, the node dynamics is described by a linear system with bounded uncertainty. Then the platoon system controlled by a distributed state-feedback controller is decomposed into multiple low order subsystems by applying the eigenvalue decomposition and linear transformation. The open gain of these subsystems dependends on the eigenvalues of the topological matrix. The sufficient condition for the H ∞ performance of platoon is proved by using the invariant of signal amplitude of the linear transformation. A numerical way is further provided to solve the distributed controller by using the LMI approach. For this new synthesis method, only the bounds of the topological eigenvalues are necessary. And the designed state-feedback can control the platoon composed of disturbed nodes and interacted by uncertain even switching topologies in a satisfactory way. The effectiveness of this distributed H ∞ control strategy is validated by comparative bench tests between nominal and disturbed conditions.

Isolation and identification of a canine coronavirus strain from giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca)

        Feng-Shan Gao,Xian-zhu Xia,Yu-Wei Gao,Ya-Duo Bai,Xiao-Huan Zou,Gui-Xue Hu 대한수의학회 2009 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.10 No.3

Two giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) died of unknown causes in a Chinese zoo. The clinical disease profile suggested that the pandas may have suffered a viral infection. Therefore, a series of detection including virus isolation, electron microscopy, cytobiological assay, serum neutralization and RT-PCR were used to identify the virus. It was determined that the isolated virus was a canine coronavirus (CCV), on the basis of coronavirus, neutralization by canine anti-CCV serum, and 84.3% to 100% amino acid sequence similarity with CCV. The results suggest that the affected pandas had been infected with CCV.

      • Radiation Induces Phosphorylation of STAT3 in a Dose- and Time-dependent Manner

Gao, Ling,Li, Feng-Sheng,Chen, Xiao-Hua,Liu, Qiao-Wei,Feng, Jiang-Bin,Liu, Qing-Jie,Su, Xu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.15

Background: We have reported the radiation could activate STAT3, which subsequently promotes the invasion of A549 cells. We here explored the dose- and time-response of STAT3 to radiation and the effect of radiation on upstream signaling molecules. Materials and Methods: A549 cells were irradiated with different doses of ${\gamma}$-rays. The expression of and nucleus translocation of p-STAT3 in A549 cells were detected by immunoblotting and immunofluorescence, respectively. The level of phosphorylated EGFR was also assessed by immunoblotting, and IL-6 expression was detected by real time PCR and ELISA. Results: Radiation promoted the phosphorylation of STAT3 at Y705 in a dose- and time-dependent manner and nuclear translocation. The level of phosphorylated EGFR in A549 cells increased after radiation. In additional, the mRNA and protein levels of IL-6 in A549 cells were also up regulated by radiation. Conclusions: STAT3 is activated by radiation in a dose-and time-dependent manner, probably due to radiation-induced activation of EGFR or secretion of IL-6 in A549 cells.
