This research studied the effect of underwear’s product cues (style, fabric and price) on consumer choice by using conjoint and consumer neural response (EEG). The results reveal that female prefers bikini style and silk fabrics while male likes brief and boxer. In addition, male more relies on price than female.

Smart wheelchairs (SW) technology is one of the solutions to help disabled people who do not have a hand or people to help them. Apart from able to move on its own, a smart wheelchair needs to be safe to use. One of the ways to increase SW safety is the ability to detect obstacles. In this study, we tried to create obstacle detection that can classify the stairs descent and floor based on image processing. To achieve our purpose, Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) is used to increase image contrast. After that, Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) is used to extract features from the image. Finally, Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) is used to classify the image. Based on the test result, BPNN achieves results with 95% Accuracy, 95% Sensitivity, 95% Specificity with an average computation time of 0.0035 s.

This paper compares the Model predictive control (MPC) and Linear quadratic control (LQC) of heavy vehicles via active front steering for rollover prevention in inclement environments. In both control methods, a Disturbance rejection control (DRC) that negates the effects of wind and road bank acting on the vehicle is designed. Load transfer ratio (LTR) is applied to judge rollover by mitigating the absolute value of LTR as much as possible. We tested and compared two different controllers, i) MPC with DRC and ii) LQC with DRC. Two types of environmental conditions were considered, i) typhoon and ii) typhoon on a bumpy road. The simulation results demonstrate that MPC was more successfully implemented than LQC during LTR suppression. This paper also proposes an MPC for coordination of active rear steering and differential braking control maneuvers to prevent rollover in inclement environments. For a feasible comparison, the LQC controller was designed using the same approach adopted for the MPC controller. Results show the proposed coordinated control yields better performance for rollover prevention than LQC.
한국어 모어 화자와 인도네시아인 한국어 학습자의 /ㅐ/와 /ㅔ/ 인지 및 산출 연구

Korean Journal of Applied Linguistics, 38/3, 95-127. This study was aimed at investigating the perception and production of short vowel /e/ and /ɛ/ of middle-age Korean native speakers and Indonesian intermediate and advanced learners, by conducting AX discrimination task and production task such as reading sentences composed of words containing /e/ and /ɛ/. The findings showed that middle-age native Korean speakers and all Indonesian Korean learners distinguished /e/ and /ɛ/ well. Unlike younger generations of Korean native speakers (Cho, 2002; Choi, 2003; Park, 2011; Shin, 2011; Yoon, 2011), middle-age native Korean speakers in this study recognize the difference between /e/ and /ɛ/. Conversely, middle-age native Korean speakers and Indonesian female intermediate and advanced learners were neutralizing /e/ and /ɛ/ when pronouncing them. In case of Indonesian learners do not distinguish the pronunciation of /e/ and /ɛ/, it presumably due to the absence of /3/ in the Indonesian vocal system. The implication of this study for Korean Language Education in Indonesia, is when teaching /e/ and /ɛ/, do not show only the phoneme itself or show them separately without attach with consonant. Hence the acoustic characteristics of those two phonemes can be expressed.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of carotenoid supplementation on the performance, egg quality, and immunity of laying hens using a meta-analysis approach. The database was searched using Google Scholar and Scopus, from 2012 to 2022. The literature was published in English. 47 Articles were selected for metaanalysis. Analyses were performed using the Open Meta-analyst for Ecology and Evolution (OpenMEE) software. The heterogeneity and data validation against publication bias were analyzed using JASP 0.16.2 software. Overall, the results showed that carotenoid supplementation improved feed intake by 0.32 g/day/hen [95% confidence interval (CI)=0.02 to 0.61], final body weight by 0.33 g/hen (95% CI=0.05 to 0.60), egg production by 0.38% (95% CI=0.14 to 0.63), egg weight by 0.29 g (95% CI=0.09 to 0.5), yolk colour by 2.11 (95% CI=1.71 to 2.51), Haugh unit (HU) by 0.26 (95% CI=0.11 to 0.42), yolk carotenoids by 1.17 μg/kg (95% CI=0.59 to 1.75), immunoglobulin A (IgA) by 0.74 mg/L (95% CI=0.18 to 1.29), and lower yolk cholesterol by –0.38 mg/g (95% CI=–0.59 to –0.16). Feed conversion ratio (FCR), eggshell thickness, and white blood cells were unaffected by the application of carotenoids. The heterogeneity analysis showed variability in all studies (<0.05). In conclusion, carotenoid supplementation can elevate productivity, enhance egg quality, and improve immunity. However, based on Kendall’s test, there was a publication bias in several parameters, namely FCR, egg weight, HU, yolk carotenoids, and IgA.
EFFECTS OF COLOR TOWARDS UNDERWEAR CHOICE BASED ON ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY (EEG)

The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether color as stimuli can affects underwear choice based on consumers’ EEG recording as biological response to elicit preferences towards underwear products. The study employs applications of neuroscience methods to analyze the physiological choice process. There are 20 underwear buyers were asked to evaluate several underwear colors (red, white, blue, brown, grey and black) by using wireless EEG headset with 6 channels to collect EEG signals from participants’ frontal, temporal and occipital brain areas that can gives us a measure to estimate consumers’ choice. The result indicated there was a clear and significant change (p < 0.05) of EEG brain waves activities of right and left hemisphere in the frontal (F3 and F4), temporal (P7 and P8), and occipital (O1 and O2) brain areas when participants indicated their preferred color. Additionally, based on the results female consumer prefers underwear which has red color while male consumer prefers white color. This research would essentially contribute to enrich marketing research method by using more advanced experimental designs rather than traditional marketing research methods.
