Effect of Chinese Consumers’ Ethnocentrism and Cultural Affinity on Purchase Intentions for Local Fashion Brands in the Context of “Guochao” Consumption

        Yi Fang Wu,김은영 한국의류산업학회 2022 한국의류산업학회지 Vol.24 No.4

This study developed a structural model to examine the relationships among consumer traits, self-brand con- nections, and purchase intentions for local fashion brands under “Guochao” consumption in China. An online survey with a self-administered questionnaire was undertaken through Chinese SNS tools to collect the data. A total of 276 usable responses were obtained from Chinese consumers who are residents in China. More females(n=174, +63%) than males (n=102, 37%) participated, and they were aged from 18 to 45 years old. The measurement model was confirmed to be reliable and valid. In the estimated structural model, the consumer traits of ethnocentrism and cultural affinity positively affected the self-brand connection, leading to purchase intentions for the local fashion brands. Specifically, the eth- nocentrism factor indirectly affected the purchase intentions by mediating the self-brand connection, while the cultural affinity factor had significant direct effects on purchase intentions. Thus, a partial mediating effect of self-brand connection was found in the relationship between the consumer traits(ethnocentrism and cultural affinity) and purchase intentions of local fashion brands in the cultural “Guochao” consumption context. This study provides insights into extending the cultural theory of ethnocentrism relevant to self-brand connections and discusses the managerial implications for devel- oping strategic global branding in the Chinese fashion markets.

RhGLP-1 (7-36) protects diabetic rats against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury via up-regulating expression of Nrf2/HO-1 and increasing the activities of SOD

        Yi Fang,Xiaofang Liu,Libo Zhao,Zhongna Wei,Daoli Jiang,Hua Shao,Yannan Zang,Jia Xu,Qian Wang,Yang Liu,Ye Peng,Xiaoxing Yin 대한약리학회 2017 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.21 No.5

The present study aimed to explore the neuroprotective effect and possible mechanisms of rhGLP-1 (7-36) against transient ischemia/reperfusion injuries induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in type 2 diabetic rats. First, diabetic rats were established by a combination of a high-fat diet and low-dose streptozotocin (STZ) (30 mg/kg, intraperitoneally). Second, they were subjected to MCAO for 2 h, then treated with rhGLP-1 (7-36) (10, 20, 40 μg/kg i.p.) at the same time of reperfusion. In the following 3 days, they were injected with rhGLP-1 (7- 36) at the same dose and route for three times each day. After 72 h, hypoglycemic effects were assessed by blood glucose changes, and neuroprotective effects were evaluated by neurological deficits, infarct volume and histomorphology. Mechanisms were investigated by detecting the distribution and expression of the nuclear factor erythroid-derived factor 2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) in ischemic brain tissue, the levels of phospho-PI3 kinase (PI3K)/PI3K ratio and heme-oxygenase-1 (HO-l), as well as the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA). Our results showed that rhGLP-1 (7-36) significantly reduced blood glucose and infarction volume, alleviated neurological deficits, enhanced the density of surviving neurons and vascular proliferation. The nuclear positive cells ratio and expression of Nrf2, the levels of P-PI3K/PI3K ratio and HO-l increased, the activities of SOD increased and the contents of MDA decreased. The current results indicated the protective effect of rhGLP-1 (7-36) in diabetic rats following MCAO/R that may be concerned with reducing blood glucose, up-regulating expression of Nrf2/HO-1 and increasing the activities of SOD.

A study of the replacement of desulphurization slag for sand to ready-mixed soil materials (RMSM)

        Yi-Fang Shiha,Shih-Shong Tseng,Her-Yung Wang,Chih-Ting Wei 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2016 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.17 No.3

After the industrial of steelmaking by-products are processed properly, they can be used in civil engineering, not only as a substitute for natural resources and to reduce costs, but also to provide environmental protection. This study used different amounts (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%,and 50%) of desulphurization slag to replace natural fine aggregates in ready-mixed soil materials, and tested the physical and fresh properties (slump, slump flow, tube flow, initial setting time, and bleeding) and hardened properties (compressive strength, ball drop, ultrasonic pulse velocity) of the materials. The variations between the performances of the materials with different mix proportions were discussed. When desulphurization slag is used in RMSM, the workability can be enhanced obviously significantly. When the replacement of desulphurization slag is 50%, the slump flow is increased by 110mm compared with the control group, and the initial setting time increases as the replacement increases, because of bleeding. When the replacement is 10% and 20%, the compressive strength at various ages is higher than that of the control group. When the replacement is 10%, the compressive strength at 7 days is higher than that of the control group by 60%, and the ultrasonic pulse velocity is proportional to the compressive strength, which increases with age and decrease as the replacement increases. An appropriate replacement can effectively accelerate construction, and allow projects to be finished ahead of schedule; therefore, an appropriate replacement, is applicable for ready-mixed soil materials.

Differential Responses to Short-term Salinity Stress of Heat-tolerant Cherry Tomato Cultivars Grown at High Temperatures

        Fang-Yi Liu,Kuo-Tan Li,Wen-Ju Yang 한국원예학회 2014 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.55 No.2

Although many new tomato cultivars with various degrees of heat-tolerance have been released, year-roundtomato production in subtropical lowlands is still challenged by summer heat and an increasing risk from salinity stress. Little information about the simultaneous effects of heat and salinity on growth and fruiting in tomatoes is available. It was hypothesized that cultivars which perform better in high temperatures are also more tolerant to salinity stress. Two highly heat-tolerant cultivars, ‘Tainan ASVEG No. 19’ (TA19) and ‘Taiwan Seed ASVEG No. 22’ (TSA22), andone moderately heat-tolerant cultivar, ‘Hualien ASVEG No. 21’ (HA21), were grown under high temperature conditionsand were irrigated with a 0, 50, 150, or 200 mM NaCl solution for 20 days. Vegetative growth, fruiting behavior, and fruit quality were monitored. Number of leaves, leaf area, shoot fresh and dry weights, and root fresh weightwere generally decreased with increasing level of salinity stress, but root dry weight was not affected, resulting in anincrease in root to shoot ratio in all three cultivars. Yield was also decreased by salinity treatments in all threecultivars due to reduced number of flowers, fruit set, and fruit size. The highly heat-tolerant ‘TA19’ had the lowestvegetative growth and the highest yield under the high temperature condition, but the yield was strongly suppressedby the short-term mild salinity treatment. On the other hand, vegetative growth was little affected and the degree ofyield reduction was less intense with the short-term mild salinity treatment in the moderately heat-tolerant ‘HA21’. The result indicated that effects of heat stress and salinity stress are not additive and differential responses to salinityunder high temperatures exist among cultivars with various degrees of heat-tolerance.

Utilization of Single Nodal Cuttings and Therapies for Eradicating Double-Infected Potato Virus (PLRV, PVY) from In Vitro Plantlets of Potato (Solanum tuberosum)

Yi Lan Fang,Shambbu Prasad Dhital,Kui Hua Li,Dong Man Khu,Hae Young Kim,Ye Su Song,Hak Tae Lim 한국원예학회 2005 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.46 No.2

In vitro plantlets of potato genotype ‘F9-99’ infected with PLRV and PVY were used for the virus eradication using heat and chemical treatments. Subculture medium was added with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) (10??, 10??, and 10?⁴ M) and ribavirin (10, 15, and 20 ㎎ㆍL?¹) alone or in combinations. The plantlets were incubated at 25℃ (control), and alternating heat treatments 35/30℃ for 1, 4, and 8 h or 42/25℃ for 4 h. Virus status of the plantlets were examined by means of double antibody sandwich-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. After 4?8 weeks of treatment, 40, 51, 41, 36, and 0% survival were observed in the control (MS and 25℃), ASA plus ribavirin (25℃), MS plus heat treatment (35/30℃), ASA plus ribavirin (35/30℃), and MS medium with heat treatment (42/25℃), respectively. As for virus eradication, heat treatment (35/30℃) with 1 h alternating thermo-cycle resulted in 100% PVY elimination, but it was much more difficult to remove the PLRV from the double-infected potato plantlets with PVY and PLRV. The highest rate of PLRV eradication was 60% from the combined treatment of 10?? M ASA, 20 ㎎ㆍL?¹ ribavirin, and heat treatment at 35/30℃ for 8 h alternating temperature.

Research on a Multi-Objective Control Strategy for Current-source PWM Rectifiers under Unbalanced and Harmonic Grid Voltage Conditions

        Yi-Wen Geng,Hai-Wei Liu,Ren-Xiong Deng,Fang-Fang Tian,Hao-Feng Bai,Kai Wang 전력전자학회 2018 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.18 No.1

Unbalanced and distorted grid voltages cause the grid side current of a current source PWM rectifier to be heavily distorted. They can also cause the DC-link current to fluctuate with a huge amplitude. In order to enhance the performance of a current-source PWM rectifier under unbalanced and harmonic grid voltage conditions, a mathematical model of a current-source PWM rectifier is established and a flexible multi-objective control strategy is proposed to control the DC-link current and grid-current. The fundamental positive/negative sequence, 5th and 7th order harmonic components of the grid voltage are first separated with the proposed control strategy. The grid current reference are optimized based on three objectives: 1) sinusoidal and symmetrical grid current, 2) sinusoidal grid current and elimination of the DC-current 2nd order fluctuations, and 3) elimination of the DC-current 2nd and 6th order fluctuations. To avoid separation of the grid current components, a multi-frequency proportional-resonant controller is applied to control the fundamental positive/negative sequence, 5th and 7th order harmonic current. Finally, experimental results verify the effectiveness of proposed control strategy.

Study on the Retarding Mechanism and Strength Loss of Gypsum from Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Retarder

        Yi Ding,Youchun Fang,Hui Fang,Qicai Zhang,Feng-Jun Zhang,오원춘 한국세라믹학회 2015 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.52 No.1

In this article, the influence of a hydrolyzed wheat protein retarder on the hydration process, ion concentration in liquid phase, degree of supersaturation, and crystal morphology of plaster was investigated. Furthermore, the retarding mechanism and the strength loss of gypsum were also studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicate that the use of the hydrolyzed wheat protein retarder for plaster achieved a better retarding effect and lower strength loss. The combination of gypsum plaster with the retarder not only decreased the plaster’s early hydration rate and prolonged its setting time efficiently, but also militated against the crystal morphology of dihydrate gypsum. For example, the crystal dimensions changed little, but the proportion of needle-shaped crystals decreased. Combination with calcium ions on the surface of dihydrate gypsum crystal nuclei may form a chemisorbed layer, reduce the surface energy of the crystal nuclei, and inhibit the growth of the crystal nuclei of dihydrate gypsum. Consequently, the hydration process of building gypsum becomes greatly extended and is slowed down significantly.

      • Integrated Particle Rauch-Tung-Striebel Backward Smoothing for Single Target Tracking in Clutter

Yi Fang Shi,Taek Lyul Song,Tae Yoon Um 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

This paper presents a Rauch-Tung-Striebel backward smoothing (RTSBS) methodology applied to the integrated particle filter (IPF), which is an algorithm for single target tracking in clutter by incorporating the probability of target existence into the traditional particle filter as a track quality measure for false track discrimination (FTD). This integrated particle-Rauch-Tung-Striebel backward smoothing (IP-RTSBS) algorithm absorbs the forward filtering backward smoothing approach to smooth the trajectory state, which is then applied to the RTS smoothing methodology to obtain the smoothing propagation to update the probability of target existence. As a result, both the probability of target existence and trajectory estimation are improved. The smoothing benefits is validated in the simulations.
