        산양산삼(山養山蔘)열수추출물이 db/db 마우스 당뇨모델에서 혈중 지질대사와 혈당에 미치는 영향

        Objectives:We investigated the effects of mountain cultivated ginseng water boiled extract(MCG) on blood glucose and insulin levels, and examined whether lipid metabolism are improved by it in male db/db mice(a murine model of type 2 diabetes mellitus). Methods:9 weeks old, male db/db mice were divided into 5 groups: C57BL/6J normal, control, MCG-250㎎/㎏ (MCG-1), MCG-500㎎/㎏(MCG-2) and MCG-1000㎎/㎏(MCG-3). After mice were treated with MCG for 8 weeks, we measured body weight, food intake, fat weight, visceral organ weight and blood glucose, insulin and lipid levels. Results:1. We found no difference in body weight, food intake, fat weight and visceral organ weight among the animal groups. 2. Compared with controls, MCG-treated mice had lower blood glucose level and higher blood insulin levels, the magnitude of which was prominent in MCG-2. 3. Compared with controls, MCG-treated mice had lower LDL-cholesterol and higher HDL-cholesterol levels. 4. Compared with controls, MCG-treated mice had blood triglyceride and free fatty acid levels, the magnitude of which was prominent in MCG-2. 5. Blood AST and ALT concentrations were not changed by MCG, indicating MCG do not show any toxic effects. Conclusions:These results demonstrate that MCG effectively increases blood insulin level and decreases blood glucose level, blood lipid levels, and prevents and improves diabetic dyslipidemia and cardiovascular disease.

        Intergranular Corrosion of Austenitic stainless Steels in Molten Carbonate Salt

        Intergranular corrosion of austenitic stainless steels in molten carbonate salt(L$i_2$C$O_3$-$K_2$C$O_3$) at 65$0^{\circ}C$ was examined by relating the composition of the steel to the corrosion properties. Electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation(EPR) procedure was used to measure the degree of sensitization to intergranular corrosion of stainless steels. It was found that all the austenitic stainless steels exhibited active-passive transition in molten carbonate salt at 65$0^{\circ}C$. Results of the EPR test showed that AISI 310 stainless steel which contains high chromuim and nickel had the high intergranular corroison resistance in molten carbonate salt. AISI 304L and 316L stainless steels which are low carbon stainless steel had higher intergranular corrosion resistance that AISI 304 and 316 stainless steels, respectively.

      • Risk Factors Associated With Pterygium and Its Subtypes in Korea: The Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2008–2010

        PURPOSE:: To assess the sociodemographic and health-related risk factors associated with pterygium and its subtypes in Korea. METHODS:: From 2008 to 2010, a total of 14,920 randomly selected national representative participants of the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey underwent additional ophthalmologic examinations by the Korean Ophthalmologic Society. The risk factors for pterygium in general or according to subtype (atrophic, intermediate, and fleshy) were identified using multivariate logistic regression analysis. RESULTS:: The prevalence of pterygium was 6.7% (95% confidence interval, 5.9–7.5) in subjects aged 30 years or older. Older age, male sex, lower educational level, rural habitation, nonsmoking, and sun exposure were independent risk factors for pterygium. Among subjects with pterygium, older age, male sex, lower educational level, and nonsmoking were independent risk factors for all types of pterygium. Sun exposure for >5 h/d was the independent risk factor for the severe pterygium subtype. CONCLUSIONS:: Socioeconomic disparities in pterygium development exist. Proper ocular examination and education to avoid excessive sun exposure would be helpful in reducing disease risk.

      • Nutritional status assessed by bioimpedance analysis in hemodialysis patients

        Background: Protein-energy wasting is common in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and it is known as an independent risk factor for major adverse events such as hospitalization and death. Recently, bioimpedance analysis (BIA) has been widely used as noninvasive method to estimate body composition and nutritional status. In this study, we retrospectively investigated whether nutritional markers measured by BIA can predict outcomesin ESRD patients with hemodialysis. Methods: ESRD patients who had been treated with outpatient hemodialysis were recruited between October 2011 and April 2015. Using BIA, body cell mass (BCM) and phase angle (PA) were obtained every 6 months. The correlation between BIA results and clinical data were analyzed. We evaluated the rates of cardiovascular events, infection and all-cause mortality according to BIA results. Results: There were 71 (55.5%) men and 57 (44.5%) women, and the mean age was 65 ± 13 years. The baseline BCM and PA were 47.4 [42.6, 53.0]% and 4.5 [3.8, 5.3] °, respectively. The BCM was negatively correlated with age, Charlson comorbidity index and body mass index (r=-0.2, -0.2 and -0.5, p=0.034, 0.027 and p<0.001), but that was positively related with serum albumin and creatinine (r=0.2 and 0.3, p=0.065 and 0.001). On the other hand, the PA had a negative correlation with age, Charlson comorbidity index and serum total carbon dioxide (r=-0.4, -0.4 and -0.3, p<0.001, p <0.001 and p 0.004), but positive with serum albumin and creatinine (r=0.4 and 0.6, both p<0.001). In this study, the BCM could not predict the adverse outcomes including cardiovascular events, infection and all-cause mortality. The PA also did not correlate with cardiovascular events. However, the PA was significantly associated with infection and mortality, and it was independent of age, sex and Charlson comorbidity index (HR 0.62 and 0.33, p=0.050 and 0.017). Conclusions: Nutritional status can be assessed using BIA and those provide substantial information in ESRD patients with hemodialysis. Especially, a low level of PA may correlate with an increased risk of infection, moreover it may predict poor prognosis.

        캠퍼스 레크리에이션 종합스포츠센터의 의의 및 영향 분석 : 스포츠 관련학과를 위한 장기적 마케팅 전략으로서의 역할 Can it be a marketing strategy for the sport-related department?

        본 연구의 목적은 캠퍼스 레크리에이션 스포츠 센터가 갖는 그 의의와 이러한 시설의 성공적인 경영이 갖는 중요한 영향을 분석함으로써, 체육 및 스포츠 관련학과의 장기적인 마케팅전략으로서 필수적인 이러한 시설의 확보를 위한 필요성을 제시하는데 있다. 이러한 분석을 뒷받침하기 위해, 선행연구를 통하여 날로 번창하는 스포츠산업과 일반인들의 스포츠 참여에 대한 관심의 증가와 보다 나은 스포츠 시설에 대한 요구에 대한 사회현상을 제시할 것이다. 이러한 현대의 스포츠와 관련한 사회현상은 갈수록 보다 전문적인 여러 분야의 스포츠 관련 전문가들과 스포츠 행정 경영인을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 사회현상을 인식한 많은 스포츠 관련학과들이 현재 다양하게 이를 위한 마케팅 전략들을 실행하고 있으며, 이러한 시도들 중에 대표적인 것으로는 학부나 대학원에 새로운 명칭의 스포츠 관련학과 과정을 신설하며 교육과정의 발달 및 필요성을 인식한 노력들을 전개되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시도는 일반인들이나 전공자들의 관심을 끌기에는 충분할지 모르지만, 이러한 시도에도 불구하고 새롭게 주장되는 양질의 교육과정을 적용함에 있어서, 근본적으로 해결하지 못하고 있는 우리나라 스포츠 관련학과의 한계점이 있다. 그 중에 대표적인 것이 각 분야별 실습장의 부족이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 결론에 도달했다. 즉, 캠퍼스 레크리에이션 종합 스포츠 센터야 말로 이와 같이 날로 증가되는 일반인들의 스포츠 여가 참여와 건강증진에 대한 관심과 상반되는 장소의 부족, 스포츠 관련학과 전공자들을 위한 실습 및 인턴의 장의부족을 해결해 줄 수 있는 종합적인 해결방법이다. 뿐만 아니라, 이러한 시설의 효과적인 경영은 더 나아가 전공자들에게 전문가로서의 자긍심을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 일반인들에게도 스포츠 관련학과 전공자들의 전문성을 인정케 하는 중요한 매개체가 될 뿐 아니라, 스포츠 관련학과의 밝은 미래를 위한 장기적인 마케팅전략을 확보하는 차원에서도 필수적인 시설이 될 것이라는 결론에 도달하였다. The purpose of the study was to examine the role of the campus recreational gymnasium and its impact on sport-related departments. Secondary, this study was designed to answer the question which is a possibility of a long term marketing strategy for sport-related department. In order to support this idea, the discussion of this study will focus on the social phenomena which represent the increasing of leisure and sport activities and demand various sport specialities. Campus recreation programs have established themselves as significant elements of student life. The benefits of leisure and recreational sport are numerous. Many benefits of those participants are personal health and fitness, social interaction, leadership skills, self-actualization, self-esteem, stress release, and often recruitment and retention of university students. Recently, a lot of college students have demanded for campus recreation gymnasium. Therefore, campus recreation sport center is strongly needed more and more in Korea. Managing campus recreation sport center has a lot more meaning than simply providing college students with a good place to regular exercise. Its latent impact can be even a survival strategies for the development of sport-related departments. That gymnasium may be one of the best tools for the development of sport related departments. Because this study can provide the best place for internship program for majoring students. Besides, it's possible functions for the sport-related departments might be the same as those of the college-governed hospitals for th e medical students. In conclusion, campus recreation sports center will positively contribute to the sport-related department and well being of those who participate as well as those students majoring in sport-related studies. This study also conclude that successful management of this facilities will increase the value of sport-related department as a department for educating sport specialists who are totally proved and tested.

        중 고등학교 체육교과목에 대한 만족도 비교에 대한 연구

        2002년부터 일반 고등학교 2-3학년생들에게 시행될 우리나라의 제7차 교육과정에 의하면, 체육교과목이 필수가 아닌 선택과목으로 전환될 것이다. 이러한 변화에 대처하기 위해, 체육교사 뿐만 아니라 모든 스포츠 및 체육 관련자들은 학생 고객에 대한 시장성을 미리 분석함으로써 이에 대한 프로그램의 연구 및 개발을 할 필요가 시급하게 되었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 체육수업의 실태를 학생들의 관점에서 객관적으로 분석하여 체육수업의 만족도를 보다 세분화하여 조사·분석함으로써 보다 정확한 중·고등학교 체육수업에 대한 평가를 하여, 중·고등학교 체육수업에 대한 마케팅 전략 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 연구자는 다음과 같은 결론을 내렸다. 1. 남학생들과 여학생들 사이에 체육교과목 여러 가지 세부요인에 대한 만족도 간에는 차이가 있다. 2. 일반적으로 운동에 참여하는 횟수가 많으면 많은 학생들일수록 체육시간 자체와 체육교사에 대해 만족하지 못하고 있다. 3. 사설스포츠 프로그램의 회원여부가 체육교과목 세부요인에 대한 만족도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 중·고등 학생들 모두 체육시설 및 장비에 대해 만족하지 못하고 있다. 위의 결과에서 알 수 있듯이, 중·고등학생들을 위한 체육교과목에 대한 보다 나은 마케팅 전략을 수립하기 위해서는, 이들 하부요인들에 대한 분석과 체육교과목의 고객들인 학생들의 여러 가지 특성(성별, 학년, 학교, 지역, 시설 유무 등)들을 고려한 새로운 체육 교과목 프로그램의 연구 계발이 필요할 것이다. The purpose of the study was designed to propose the necessity of the marketing strategies for the school subject of Physical Education(PE) of middle and high school students in Korea. The subjects participated in this study were 2.710 students who were attending 35 different middle and high school in 6 cities located in Chollla-Namdo province. The questionnaire for this study was designed to ask how the students satisfy the sub-factors relating the subject of Physical Education course. Those sub-factors were PE class itself. PE teacher, PE class contents, facilities and equipment for PE course, and assesment from PE class. Besides, there were some demographic questions and the intensity and place for the physical activities or sports. For the data analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe post-hoc procedure were applied. On the basis of the results from the study, this study concluded as followings. First, gender differency was a key factor toward the level of satisfaction on the subject of Physical Education. Second, generally the more students involved in sports or physical activities, the less the students satisfied with their PE teacher and PE class hour. Third, most of the middle and high school students were not satisfied with their current school facilities and equipment for PE. Fourth, membership of private sport program influenced the satisfaction level toward PE subject. Overall, the results of the study showed that most of the middle school and high school students, regardless of any independent variable distinctions, were not satisfy with the subject of PE. Therefore. There is a great need of developing strategies for the school subject of Physical Education.
