In this study, a novel method for determining stresses in the torsion problems of laminated composite trimetallic and bimetallic bars was developed and evaluated via experimental and numerical analyses. The objective of this method is to transform a real transversal section of a model for a laminated composite bar into a hypothetical virtual section that is homogenous and isotropic. An analogy with the transformed-section method for solving composite beams under flexion was conducted. The shear stresses (maximum on external surfaces and interfaces) in laminated composite bars were undergoing torsion. Isotropic symmetric and asymmetric laminated composite bars were examined analytically, and the results of their respective experimental and numerical tests were analyzed. The proposed method exhibits differences between 2 % and 12 % compared with the experimental results and between 2 % and 10 % compared with the results obtained using the finite element method.
실학사상기의 복식문화 (Ⅱ) : 18세기 후반 북학사상을 중심으로 The Bukhak idea in the late of the 18th century

The objectives of this study are to find out the process of changes of the costume in the era of practical science, and to search the bukhak's view of the costume. Conclusions are described as follows 1. The bukhak pursued the function and the rationality in men's costumes, and dealed with the welfare point of view in the commons and humbles clothes, and criticized the phenomenon of over-fashion in women's costume. 2. They contended for thrift against the luxury. But as they had also a modern thinking at the same time, they seemed to have a flexibility. Therefore they persued the essential courtesy in manners and costume. 3. The common people of Yi dynasty had the idea that yi dynasty is a small China replace by Ming dynasty. But the bukhak had a self-existent standpoint and a realistic idea to the Ch'ing dynasty. But they would have received the Mines culture as the reactionism in the costume. Chinese envied or ridiculed the korean costume. 4. It was the pursuit of the rationality that the Bukhak presented the direction of the costume. They contended for the growth of the business and the development of technique in order to reform the clothing industry.
Deformation Behavior of Corrosion-Resistant Fe-Cr Alloy

Iron containing a high amount of chromium is known to be inferior to ductility due to ${\sigma}$ phase formation so that it is generally difficult to apply the plastic deformation process although the alloy possesses a superior characteristics of an excellent corrosion resistance. In this study, Fe-50mass%Cr alloy was melted using high purity powder and the deformation behavior has been investigated by cold rolling and tensile test. The tensile test yielded that the alloy revealed a serration at an early stage of tensile deformation and then the serrated flow vanished to change to a normal work hardening flow at the later stage. The former was governed by twin formation process, the latter by dislocation multiplication one, bringing about a high ductility of 20% or over. The reduction ratio in cold rolling was attained as high as 90%, thus the high corrosion-resistant alloy is able to possess a high ductility.
The Correlation between IL-1β-C31T Gene Polymorphism and Susceptibility to Breast Cancer

Purpose: Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, has been shown to influence breast cancer susceptibility. The relationship between its risk of breast cancer and IL-1β-C31T polymorphism has been demonstrated, but the results remain controversial. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate the correlation between the IL-1β-C31T gene polymorphism and susceptibility to breast cancer. Methods: The genotype frequencies of IL-1β-C31T polymorphism were compared between 204 breast cancer cases and 210 controls using polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism techinques. Further multivariate binary logistic regression analyses were used to assess the association between IL-1β-C31T polymorphism and breast cancer risk. Results: The frequency of the T allele of IL-1β-C31T polymorphism in breast cancer cases was significantly higher than that in the controls (56.1% vs. 47.9%). The frequencies of genotypes CC, CT, and TT in the cases were 22.1%, 43.6%, and 34.3%, respectively, while in the control group they were 24.3%, 55.7%, and 20.0%, respectively. There was a significant difference between the prevalence of TT genotype in the 2 groups (adjusted odds ratio [OR], 2.06; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.16–3.66; p = 0.014). Breast cancer risk increased in women with TT genotype, body mass index (BMI) ≥ 25 kg/m2 (OR, 2.19; 95% CI, 1.09–4.36), late age at first birth (OR, 2.43; 95% CI, 1.29–4.56), postmenopausal status (OR, 3.15; 95% CI, 1.39–7.16), and negative smoking history (OR, 2.52; 95% CI, 1.32–4.82). Furthermore, increase in breast cancer risk among women diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma was associated with CT/TT genotypes (OR, 2.82; 95% CI, 1.38–5.76). Conclusion: The IL-1β-C31T polymorphism affects breast cancer susceptibility, especially in women with late age at first birth, high BMI, postmenopausal status, negative smoking history, and invasive ductal carcinoma. Our study adds to the evidence about the importance of IL-1β-C31T polymorphism in breast cancer susceptibility.

Oriented thin lms of lead bromide-based layered perovskite having an organicinorganic superlattice structure, which iscombined with a lead bromide semiconductor layer and an organic layer of carbazole-linked ammonium molecules, were suc-cessfully prepared by spin-coating from dimethylformamide solution in which stoichiometric amounts of PbBr2 and carbazole-linked ammonium bromides were dissolved. The thin lms exhibited sharp exciton absorption around 400 nm which is characteristicof PbBr-based layered perovskite in addition to absorptions due to carbazole chromophore peaking around 350 and 300 nm. X-raydiraction measurement demonstrated that the layer structure was oriented parallel to the lm plane: the spin-coated lms exhibitedonly (00n) reections, wherec-axis is in the stacking direction of the layer structure.
Characteristic X-ray Spectrum Analysis of Micro-Sized SiC

It has been investigated what kind of characteristic X-ray in electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) is effective for the determination of compounds of Si series materials. After comparing the characteristic X-rays among the primary and secondary lines in $K_{\alpha}$ and $K_{\beta}$ obtained from the Si series standard samples, it was found that the secondary line of $K_{\alpha}$ exhibited the most informative spectrum although the intensity was considerably weak. As a result of analyzing the spectrum shapes of the Si series standard samples, the spectrum shape of the secondary line of $K_{\alpha}$ for SiC was different from those for other Si compounds. To grasp the characteristics of the shape, a line was perpendicularly drawn from the peak top to base line in order to divide a spectrum into two areas. The area ratio of right to left was defined to call as the asymmetry index here. As a result, the asymmetry index value of the SiC was greater than one, while those of other Si compounds were less than one. It was found from the EPMA analysis that identification of SiC became successful to distinguish from other Si compounds and this method was applicable for micro-sized compounds in a practical composite material.
