Vol.5 No.3

According to the Korean Ministry of Education in 2019, since 2017, More and more Chinese students have come to Korea in recent years. Moreover, at the same time, not only South Korea, but also China in mobile payment and mobile banking has become inseparable from daily life, people for mobile banking demand and expectations are growing. However, when Chinese students use mobile banking in Korea, the differences in the interface between Korean and Chinese mobile banking may cause visual strangeness and inconvenience. Therefore, it is necessary for Korean mobile phone banks to study the effect of visual factors on product usability and user satisfaction. After analyzing the representative mobile phone banks in Korea and China, this paper tests the differences of the usage and the satisfaction of the two countries banks. It turns out that among the representative banks in Korea and China, China Construction Bank and Kookmin Bank have high usability evaluation. In terms of usage, Chinese students prefer a mobile interface that is easy to grasp specific information, and providing consistent icons in the interface can have a great effect on user satisfaction.

Photosensitization of nanoporous TiO2 films with natural dye

        Jin, En Mei,Park, Kyung-Hee,Jin, Bo,Yun, Je-Jung,Gu, Hal-Bon Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences 2010 Physica scripta Vol.2010 No.t139

<P>Dye-sensitized solar cells were assembled by using natural dyes extracted from wormwood, bamboo leaves and red maple leaves as photosensitizers. The <I>V</I>oc values of natural dyes from wormwood, bamboo leaves and maple leaves were 0.67, 0.66 and 0.59, respectively. The <I>I</I>SC values were varied from 2.56 to 5.95 mA cm−2 and the fill factors from 56 to 66%. Based on investigations into the structure and properties of dye molecules, wormwood revealed the best photosensitized effects among several kinds of natural dyes, which is due to the interaction between the carbonyl and hydroxyl groups of anthocyanin and the surface of TiO2; these wormwood extracts act as efficient sensitizers.</P>

Electrochemical characteristics of lithium iron phosphate with multi-walled carbon nanotube for lithium polymer batteries.

        Jin, En Mei,Jin, Bo,Park, Kyung-Hee,Gu, Hal-Bon,Park, Gye-Choon,Kim, Ki-Won American Scientific Publishers 2008 Journal of nanoscience and nanotechnology Vol.8 No.10

<P>In this study, we prepared phospho-olivine LiFePO4 nanoparticles as cathode materials for lithium polymer batteries by hydrothermal reaction at 150 degrees C. Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was added to enhance the electrical conductivity of LiFePO4. LiFePO4-MWCNT nanoparticles (0 wt%, 1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt%, 7 wt% and 10 wt%) were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). LiFePO4-MWCNT/SPE/Li cells were characterized electrochemically by charge/discharge experiments at a constant current density of 0.1 mA cm(-2) in a range between 2.5 and 4.3 V versus Li/Li+, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and ac impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that initial discharge capacity of LiFePO4 was 103 mA h g(-1). The discharge capacity of LiFePO4-MWCNT/SPE/Li cell with 7 wt% MWCNT was 129 mA h g(-1) at the first cycle and 130 mA h g(-1) after 30 cycles, respectively. It was demonstrated that cycling performance of LiFePO4-MWCNT/SPE/Li cell with 7 wt% MWCNT was better than that of LiFePO4/SPE/Li cell.</P>

Alcohol Consumption and Mortality in the Korean Multi-center Cancer Cohort Study

        Jung, En-Joo,Shin, Ae-Sun,Park, Sue-K.,Ma, Seung-Hyun,Cho, In-Seong,Park, Bo-Young,Lee, Eun-Ha,Chang, Soung-Hoon,Shin, Hai-Rim,Kang, Dae-Hee,Yoo, Keun-Young The Korean Society for Preventive Medicine 2012 Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Vol.45 No.5

Objectives: To examine the association between alcohol consumption habit, types of beverages, alcohol consumption quantity, and overall and cancer-specific mortality among Korean adults. Methods: The alcohol consumption information of a total of 16 320 participants who were 20 years or older from the Korean Multicenter Cancer Cohort were analyzed to examine the association between alcohol consumption habit and mortality (median follow-up of 9.3 years). The Cox proportional hazard model was used to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) of alcohol consumption to mortality adjusting for age, sex, geographic areas, education, smoking status, and body mass index. Results: Alcohol drinkers showed an increased risk for total mortality compared with never drinkers (HR, 1.72; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.38 to 2.14 for past drinkers; HR, 1.21; 95% CI, 1.06 to 1.39 for current drinkers), while past drinkers only were associated with higher risk for cancer deaths (HR, 1.84; 95% CI, 1.34 to 2.53). The quantity of alcohol consumed per week showed a J-shaped association with risk of mortality. Relative to light drinkers (0.01 to 90 g/wk), never drinkers and heavy drinkers (>504 g/wk) had an increased risk for all-cause and cancer deaths: (HR, 1.18; 95% CI, 0.96 to 1.45) and (HR, 1.39; 95% CI, 1.05 to 1.83) for all-cause mortality; and (HR, 1.55; 95% CI, 1.15 to 2.11) and (HR, 2.07; 95% CI, 1.39 to 3.09) for all cancer mortality, respectively. Heavy drinkers (>504 g/wk) showed an elevated risk for death from stomach and liver cancers. Conclusions: The present study supports the existence of a J-shaped association between alcohol consumption quantity and the risk of all-cause and cancer deaths. Heavy drinkers had an increased risk of death from cancer overall and liver and stomach cancer.

      • Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR1) Gene Expression in de novo Acute Leukemia Cells : Correlations with CD Surface Markers and Treatment Outcome

        Jiang, En Zi,Chang, Yoon Jong,Lee, Joong Won,Lee, Won Kil,Kim, Jay Sik,Sohn, Sang Kyun,Lee, Kyu Bo,Suh, Jang Soo 경북대학교 병원 2003 경북대학교병원의학연구소논문집 Vol.7 No.1

One important mechanism of drug resistance in acute leukemia is the over-expression of the multi-drug resistance(MDR1) gene that encodes a 170-kDa membrane protein called P-glycoprotein. To estimate the incidence and role of MDR1 gene expression in patients with acute leukemia, we investigated the expression of MDR1 by using the RT-PCR method in blast cells from 40 cases of de novo acute leukemia. We found a high frequency of MDR1 gene expression: 10 out of 20 with de novo acute myeloid leukemia(ALM), 8 OUT OF 17 with de novo acute lymphoblastic leukermia(ALL), and none of the 3 with de novo acute mixed leukemia, were MDR1 mRNA-positive. No correlation between cluster designation(CD) surface markers(CD19, CD7, CD13, CD33, CD34, CD14, HLA-DR) and MDR1 gene expression in AML was found. The complete remission rate was correlated with MDR1 gene expression. Among 40 evaluable patients examined, 17%(3 of 18) with MDR1 mRNA-postitive reached complete remission versus 77%(17 of 22) with MDR1 mRNA-negative(p=0.044). These results suggest that MDR1 gene expression can be used as a prognostic factor and may be helpful in determining chernotherapeutic protocol for patients with acute leukemia.

Effect of solution temperature on the mechanical properties of dual-cure resin cements

        Jung-Bo Huh,Mi-Jung Yun,Yong-Hoon Kwon,Chang-Mo Jeong,Yeong-Chan Jeon,En-Sook Kang 대한치과보철학회 2013 The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics Vol.5 No.2

PURPOSE This study was to evaluate the effect of the solution temperature on the mechanical properties of dualcure resin cements. MATERIALS AND METHODS For the study, five dual-cure resin cements were chosen and light cured. To evaluate the effect of temperature on the specimens, the light-cured specimens were immersed in deionized water at three different temperatures (4, 37 and 60℃) for 7 days. The control specimens were aged in a 37℃ dry and dark chamber for 24 hours. The mechanical properties of the light-cured specimens were evaluated using the Vickers hardness test, three-point bending test, and compression test, respectively. Both flexural and compressive properties were evaluated using a universal testing machine. The data were analyzed using a two way ANOVA with Tukey test to perform multiple comparisons (α=0.05). RESULTS After immersion, the specimens showed significantly different microhardness, flexural, and compressive properties compared to the control case regardless of solution temperatures. Depending on the resin brand, the microhardness difference between the top and bottom surfaces ranged approximately 3.3-12.2%. Among the specimens, BisCem and Calibra showed the highest and lowest decrease of flexural strength, respectively. Also, Calibra and Multilink Automix showed the highest and lowest decrease of compressive strength, respectively compared to the control case. CONCLUSION The examined dual-cure resin cements had compatible flexural and compressive properties with most methacrylate-based composite resins and the underlying dentin regardless of solution temperature. However, the effect of the solution temperature on the mechanical properties was not consistent and depended more on the resin brand.

      • CXCL12-CXCR4 Promotes Proliferation and Invasion of Pancreatic Cancer Cells

        Shen, Bo,Zheng, Ma-Qing,Lu, Jian-Wei,Jiang, Qian,Wang, Tai-Hong,Huang, Xin-En Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9

Objective: CXCL12 exerts a wide variety of chemotactic effects on cells. Evidence indicates that CXCL12, in conjunction with its receptor, CXCR4, promotes invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. Our objective was to explore whether the CXCL12-CXCR4 biological axis might influence biological behavior of pancreatic cancer cells. Methods: Miapaca-2 human pancreatic cancer cells were cultured under three different conditions: normal medium (control), medium + recombinant CXCL12 (CXCL12 group), or medium + CXCR4-inhibitor AMD3100 (AMD3100 group). RT-PCR was applied to detect mRNA expression levels of CXCL12, CXCR4, matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2), MMP-9, and human urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA). Additionally, cell proliferation and invasion were performed using CCK-8 colorimetry and transwell invasion assays, respectively. Results: CXCL12 was not expressed in Miapaca-2 cells, but CXCR4 was detected, indicating that these cells are capable of receiving signals from CXCL12. Expression of extracellular matrix-degrading enzymes MMP-2, MMP-9, and uPA was upregulated in cells exposed to exogenous CXCL12 (P<0.05). Additionally, both proliferation and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells were enhanced in the presence of exogenous CXCL12, but AMD3100 intervention effectively inhibited these processes (P<0.05). Conclusions: The CXCL12-CXCR4 biological axis plays an important role in promoting proliferation and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells.
