        Tamoxifen Suppresses Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase Expression in Mouse Macrophages

        Excessive nitric oxide (NO) production by inducible NO synthase (iNOS) in stimulated inflammatory cells is thought to be a causative factor of cellular injury. In recent studies, it has been shown that tamoxifen, an anti-breast cancer drug, exhibits anti-inflammatory effects. Thus, we investigated the effects of tamoxifen on the production and expression of iNos in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated RAW264.7macrophages. NO production was assessed by nitrite assay and iNos expression was identified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Activation of nuclear factor-κb (Nfκb) was determined by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). The NO production induced by LPS was markedly reduced by tamoxifen. Tamoxifen also suppressed the LPS-activated expression of iNos mRNA and blocked the LPS-induced activation of Nfκb. The phosphorylation level of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (Erk) mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) was not affected by tamoxifen,but the phosphorylation level of p38 MAPK was decreased by tamoxifen. Taken together, the results suggest that tamoxifen inhibits LPS-activated NO production via inhibition of p38 MAPK and Nfκb pathways in RAW264.7 macrophage cells. The results of our study provide evidence that tamoxifen possesses an anti-inflammatory effect. (Cancer Prev Res 15, 138-142, 2010)

      • 사출 속도 변화에 따른 플라스틱 시편 내부의 glass bubble morphology 및 물성 변화에 관한 연구

        친환경 기술이 각광받으면서 자동차 분야에서도 높은 연비를 구현하기 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 차량 경량화는 이러한 친환경적 요구를 만족시키기 위한 중요한 기술이다. 자동차 내, 외장에는 다양한 사출 플라스틱 부품들이 사용되고 있는데, 이러한 플라스틱 부품의 경량화가 차량 경량화의 일환으로 주목 받고 있다. 그 중 미세한 glass bubble을 혼합하여 경량화 하는 방법이 있다. Glass bubble의 제작 기술이 발달하면서 그 직경이 작아짐에 따라 더 큰 경량화 효과가 기대된다. 하지만 용융된 플라스틱 수지 내부에서의 glass bubble의 거동에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이번 연구는 사출 속도 변화에 따른 시편 내에서의 glass bubble morphology를 관찰함으로써 플라스틱 제품을 효과적으로 경량화 함과 동시에 필요로 하는 물성을 유지 할 수 있는 최적 사출 조건을 찾는 것을 목적으로 한다. 83mm/sec의 사출 속도를 기준으로 하여 90, 50, 10%로 사출 속도를 조절하였다. 각 사출속도에 따른 시편의 SEM 촬영을 통해 시편 내부에서의 glass bubble morphology를 관찰하고 또한 각각의 충격강도를 확인하였다. 그리고 단면 관찰 과정에서 발견하게 된 특이 현상에 대해서도 추가 실험을 통해 고찰 하였다.

        Quality Assessment of Tropospheric Delay Estimated by Precise Point Positioning in the Korean Peninsula

        Over the last decade, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been increasingly utilized as a meteorological research tool. The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) has also been developing a near real-time GNSS precipitable water vapor (PWV) information management system that can produce a precise PWV for the Korean Peninsula region using GNSS data processing and meteorological measurements. The goal of this paper is to evaluate whether the precise point positioning (PPP) strategy will be used as the new data processing strategy of the GNSS-PWV information management system. For this purpose, quality assessment has been performed by means of a comparative analysis of the troposphere zenith total delay (ZTD) estimates from KASI PPP solutions (KPS), KASI network solutions (KNS), and International GNSS Service (IGS) final troposphere products (IFTP) for ten permanent GNSS stations in the Korean Peninsula. The assessment consists largely of two steps: First, the troposphere ZTD of the KNS are compared to those of the IFTP for only DAEJ and SUWN, in which the IFTP are used as the reference. Second, the KPS are compared to the KNS for all ten GNSS stations. In this step, the KNS are used as a new reference rather than the IFTP, because it was proved in the previous step that the KNS can be a suitable reference. As a result, it was found that the ZTD values from both the KPS and the KNS followed the same overall pattern, with an RMS of 5.36 mm. When the average RMS was converted into an error of GNSS-PWV by considering the typical ratio of zenith wet delay and PWV, the GNSS-PWV error met the requirement for PWV accuracy in this application. Therefore, the PPP strategy can be used as a new data processing strategy in the near real-time GNSS-PWV information management system.

      • Web 기반 도구를 이용한 자동화 복합 공정 제어 시스템의 가상실험실 구현

        인터넷의 비약적인 발달은 제어시스템의 설계 및 운영에도 많은 영향을 미치게 되어 지금까지와는 전 혀 다른 시스템 구현이 가능한 환경으로 만들어 가고 있다. 이와 같은 배경에서 본 연구에서는 LabVIEW를 이용한 복합 공정의 제어 및 모니터링을 Web을 기반으로 한 새로운 방법의 원격제어 시 스템을 사용하여 가상실험실을 구현하였다. LS산전의 GLOFA-GM3와 미쓰비시의 MELSEC-Q PLC를 각각 TCP/IP와 RS-232C통신을 사용하여 복합공정 제어 시스템을 구현하였다. NI사의 LabVIEW 프로그 램에서 지원하는 Web 출판 기능을 사용하여 웹상에서 50대의 Clint PC의 접속을 가능하게 하여 원격 으로 접속, 학습이 가능하도록 가상실험실을 구현하였으며 학습자들은 원격으로 복합 제어공정을 실시 간으로 학습할 수 있게 되었다. 나아가 Web 상에서 원격제어의 가능성을 활용하여 산업체에서의 활용 범위를 넓히고, 가상 교육환경의 가능성을 열었다.

        Performance Analysis of Mapping Functions and Mean Temperature Equations for GNSS Precipitable Water Vapor in the Korean Peninsula

        The performance of up-to-date mapping functions and various mean temperature equations were analyzed to derive optimal mapping function and mean temperature equation when GNSS precipitable water vapor (PWV) was investigated in the Korean Peninsula. Bernese GNSS Software 5.2, which can perform high precision GNSS data processing, was used for accurate analysis, and zenith total delay (ZTD) required to calculate PWV was estimated via the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) method. GNSS, radiosonde, and meteorological data from 2009 to 2014 were acquired from Sokcho Observatory and used. ZTDs estimated by applying the global mapping function (GMF) and Vienna mapping function 1 (VMF1) were compared with each other in order to evaluate the performance of the mapping functions. To assess the performance of mean temperature equations, GNSS PWV was calculated by using six mean temperature equations and a difference with radiosonde PWV was investigated. Conclusively, accuracy of data processing was improved more when using VMF1 than using GMF. A mean temperature equation proposed by Wu (2003) had the smallest difference with that in the radiosonde in the analysis including all seasons. In summer, a mean temperature equation proposed by Song & Grejner-Brzezinska (2009) had the closest results with that of radiosonde. In winter, a mean temperature equation proposed by Song (2009) showed the closest results with that of radiosonde.

        미술 수업에서의 정동: 미술 교육과정에서 시사점

        이 연구는 실제 교육 현장에서 정동의 적용 가능성을 고찰하고, 정동과 정동을 활용한 교수법이 함의하고 있는 의미와 가치에 대한 연구이다. 연구자는 정동을 적용한 사례와 정동의 교육적 시사점을 담임으로서 초등학교 5학년 학생 23명과 미술 수업을 하면서 전파되는 실제 교육 현장에서 실행 연구를 통해 표현하고 설명하였다. 본 연구의 연구 결과는 다음과 같이 간추릴 수 있다. 첫째, 정동은 학생들에게 새로운 인식 구조와 배움을 일으킨다. 정동은 기호로서 학생들에게 감각밖에 될 수 없고 끊임없이 학습자에게 사유를 강요한다. 사유가 비자발적이라는 점을 고려한다면, 학습자가 사유할 수 있도록 감정적인 충격을 줄 수 있는 작품들을 미술 교육과정에 반영하여야 한다. 둘째, 정동은 학습자를 동질화하는 교육이 아닌, 학습자가 지속적으로 차이를 생산하는 교육을 할 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 정동은 학습자가 미술을 “열린 개념”으로 이해하는데 도움을 주고, 학습자가 새로운 것을 주저하지 않고 받아들일 수 있도록 하는 촉매 역할을 한다. This study concerns the applicability of affect in the classroom and studies the meaning and value of affect and teaching methods that use affect. The researcher describes and explains cases that apply affect and the educational implications of affect in the field of education. The study utilises the researcher’s homeroom art classes, which are made up of 23 fifth-grade elementary school students. Three main findings are determined and summarised as follows. First, affect triggers learning and new cognitive structures for learners. Affect, as one of Deleuze’s signs, can only be sensed and constantly forces the learners to think. Considering that thought is involuntary, artwork that can cause emotional shock should be included in the art curriculum so that learners can think. Second, affect allows learners to produce difference constantly, rather than to produce homogenised work. Third, affect helps learners understand art as an open concept and serves as a catalyst for learners to accept new things without hesitation.

        Development of Integrated Orbit and Attitude Software-in-the-loop Simulator for Satellite Formation Flying

        An integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm for satellite formation flying was developed, and an integrated orbit and attitude software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulator was also developed to test and verify the integrated control algorithm. The integrated algorithm includes state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) control algorithm and PD feedback control algorithm as orbit and attitude controller respectively and configures the two algorithms with an integrating effect. The integrated SIL simulator largely comprises an orbit SIL simulator for orbit determination and control, and attitude SIL simulator for attitude determination and control. The two SIL simulators were designed considering the performance and characteristics of related hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators and were combined into the integrated SIL simulator. To verify the developed integrated SIL simulator with the integrated control algorithm, an orbit simulation and integrated orbit and attitude simulation were performed for a formation reconfiguration scenario using the orbit SIL simulator and the integrated SIL simulator, respectively. Then, the two simulation results were compared and analyzed with each other. As a result, the user satellite in both simulations achieved successful formation reconfiguration, and the results of the integrated simulation were closer to those of actual satellite than the orbit simulation. The integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm verified in this study enables us to perform more realistic orbit control for satellite formation flying. In addition, the integrated orbit and attitude SIL simulator is able to provide the environment of easy test and verification not only for the existing diverse orbit or attitude control algorithms but also for integrated orbit and attitude control algorithms.

        This study to an art museum analyzed the characteristic and variation of the space composition of the art museum that was easy and comfortable for local residents to approach an art, a high class culture. That an art museum is a place only for professionals is a misunderstanding idea that happens when it doesn't play its role fully as the art museum which helps the public understanding. Therefore, the art museum of modern times tries to have a plan that it can offer the variety of cultural programs to local residents and form various spaces together where they use cultural facilities so that the general public access an art intimately. This study analyzed the display form, space composition, and program of an art museum through documentary materials. This study also investigated and analyzed that an art museum had taken any consideration for design and public space composition so that it had induced the general public to come in itself through examples.
