Graphene oxide (GO) was synthesis by Tour method. Particle size distribution effects of raw graphite on the resulting structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of GO samples and their poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) composites are studied for the graphite particle distributions of <150, 45e75 and 25e45 mm. It is determined that particle size of raw graphite have an impact on oxidation degree, the chemical nature of oxygen functional groups on GO and it also affects the lateral size of obtained GO. PEDOT:PSS-GO composites are utilized as hole injection layer (HIL) in a solution process blue organic light emitting diode. Presence of GO caused negative differential resistance (NDR) and NDR intensity was decreased with the decrease in lateral size of GO, increase in the graphite particle size and carboxyl% of obtained GO. All PEDOT:PSS-GO composite based devices presented better performance than the bare PEDOT:PSS based reference device. The maximum luminous and external quantum efficiency values of the device that contain HIL of PEDOT:PSS-GO(150) were more than 40% and 50% higher than that of the reference, respectively. Two folds of increase in these performance values were able to be reached with the concentration optimization of GO/150 in PEDOT:PSS.
On Interpretation of Hyperbolic Angle
Aktas, Busra,Gundogan, Halit,Durmaz, Olgun Department of Mathematics 2020 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.60 No.2
Minkowski spaces have long been investigated with respect to certain properties and substructues such as hyperbolic curves, hyperbolic angles and hyperbolic arc length. In 2009, based on these properties, Chung et al. [3] defined the basic concepts of special relativity, and thus; they interpreted the geometry of the Minkowski spaces. Then, in 2017, E. Nesovic [6] showed the geometric meaning of pseudo angles by interpreting the angle among the unit timelike, spacelike and null vectors on the Minkowski plane. In this study, we show that hyperbolic angle depends on time, t. Moreover, using this fact, we investigate the angles between the unit timelike and spacelike vectors.
Incidentally Detected Cardiac Cyst Hydatid after Blunt Thoracic Trauma
Ersan Ozbudak,Duygu Durmaz,Ali Ahmet Arıkan,Umit Halici,Sadan Yavuz,Ender Emre 대한흉부외과학회 2014 Journal of Chest Surgery (J Chest Surg) Vol.47 No.2
Cardiac involvement in hydatid disease is more seldom than the involvement of the liver and the lungs. Cardiac cyst hydatid disease is diagnosed incidentally or by means of symptoms such as dyspnea and angina pectoris. Here, we present the case of a 45-year-old male patient who underwent open heart surgery for a randomly detected cardiac cyst hydatid during investigations carried out in a healthcare institution after accidentally falling from height. On the other hand, this patient did not have any complaints associated with hydatid disease before this event.

Bacterial cold water disease, enteric red mouth disease and frunculosis are the common bacterial diseases of fish worldwide. The etiologic agents of these diseases are Flavobacterium (F.) psychrophilum, Yersinia (Y.) ruckeri and Aeromonas (A.) salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, respectively. In this study, a multiplex polymerase chain reaction (m-PCR)method with YER8/10-Fer3/4-FP1/3 primer pairs which can identify these fish pathogens simultaneously was developed and optimized. In optimized conditions, neither false specific nor nonspecific amplification occurred. The detection limits of the m-PCR method using DNA extracts from dilutions of pure cultures of bacteria were 35 pg for Y. ruckeri and F. psychrophilum and 70 pg for A. salmonicida subsp. salmonicida. It was determined that 15 CFU Y. ruckeri and F. psychrophilum and 30 CFU A. salmonicida subsp. salmonicida could be detected by m-PCR developed using genomic DNA extracted from dilutions of the suspensions. The detection limits in the presence of tissue debris were 125 CFU for Y. ruckeri and F. psychrophilum and 250 CFU for A. salmonicida subsp. salmonicida. In conclusion, we submit that the m-PCR method developed and optimized in this study can be used for accurate and rapid identification of these bacteria.

Objective: The aim of the present study is to assess carpal tunnel syndrome's (CTS’s) ultrasonography (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and compare them with healthy controls. Methods: Thirty-nine PsA and twenty-eight healthy volunteers were examined in this study. Demographic and clinical features were recorded. CTS-6, a diagnostic algorithm, was used to estimate the probability of CTS. Electrodiagnostic study (EDS) was applied to all wrists included in the report, where the diagnosis of CTS was made by EDS. The cross-sectional area (CSA) of the median nerve was measured at pisiform bone level by US and MRI. Results: Regarding to the demographic characteristics, no statistically significant difference was found between the groups. Twelve of 39 (30.76%) PsA patients had CTS, whereas CTS was not detected in the control group (p=0.001). US and MRI showed increased median nerve CSA in PsA patients compared to healthy controls (p=0.005, p<0.001; respectively). Also, US and MRI showed increased median nerve CSA in CTS patients compared to others (p=0.002, p<0.001; respectively). The Pearson correlation coefficient between MRI and US measurements of the CSA was 0.85 (p<0.001). Conclusion: CTS frequency in PsA patients is found higher than healthy controls. The relationship between CTS diagnosed by EDS and CSA measured by both US and MRI was observed in PsA patients.
Experiences of Family Caregivers of Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy
Sercekus, Pinar,Besen, Dilek Buyukkaya,Gunusen, Neslihan Partlak,Edeer, Aylin Durmaz Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.12
Background: Cancer is a disease which affects not only patients but also their families physically and emotionally. The purpose of this study was to determine the needs, challenges and ways of coping of caregivers of cancer patients. Materials and Methods: In the study, a phenomenological approach was used. Data were collected through semi-structured individual interviews. The study sample comprised 16 family members providing care for a cancer patient. Results: The study findings are grouped under four main themes: the impact of caregiving, masking feelings, experienced challenges and expectations, and coping. During the caregiving process, patient relatives are affected physiologically, psychologically and socially. It was determined that patient relatives hid their feelings and avoided talking about the disease for fear that they might upset the patient, and that they had difficulty in coping with the patient's reactions during the treatment process. Family members had difficulties arising from the health system, hospital conditions and treatment in addition to transportation and financial problems. Support is very important in coping, but it was determined that some of the relatives of patients did not receive adequate support. Patient relatives expect that health care professionals should provide them with more information about their patient's condition and the course of the disease that their patients should be dealt with by the physicians specialized in cancer, and that psychological support should be provided both for them and for their patient. Conclusions: During the caregiving process, family members are faced with many difficulties and they exhibit different coping behaviors which health care professionals should take into account.

Hepatoportal sclerosis (HPS) is defined as sclerosis of portal areas in the absence of cirrhosis. There is little information about HPS in children in the literature. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical presentation, associated disorders, laboratory characteristics and outcome of children who were diagnosed as HPS. This study included 12 children diagnosed as HPS by the Pathology Department between 2005 and 2011. Data were collected from the gastroenterology clinic charts retrospectively, including demographics, presentation characteristics, laboratory data and recent status of patients. Twelve patients were enrolled (6 girls, 6 boys). The median age of patients was 13.5 yr. Median age at the time of biopsy was 11 yr. Four patients had splenomegaly, 3 had esophageal varices, one had hepatopulmonary syndrome and had been transplanted. Smooth muscle antibody was found positive in 4 patients, without autoimmune hepatitis findings in liver biopsy. One patient had celiac disease and another patient had positive celiac disease serology but pathology findings. Another patient had Turner’s syndrome. Mean follow-up time was 39 months (3.3 yr) after biopsy. Hepatoportal sclerosis does not necessarily present with portal hypertension in children.

A 21-year-old male was admitted with severe right arm and hand tremors after a thalamic hemorrhage caused by a traffic accident. He was also suffering from agonizing pain in his right shoulder that manifested after the tremor. Neurologic examination revealed a disabling, severe, and irregular kinetic and postural tremor in the right arm during target-directed movements. There was also an irregular ipsilateral rest tremor and dystonic movements in the distal part of the right arm. The amplitude was moderate at rest and extremely high during kinetic and intentional movements. The patient underwent left globus pallidum internus and ventral intermediate thalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation. The patient improved by more than 80% as rated by the Fahn-Tolosa-Marin Tremor Rating Scale and Visual Analog Scale six months after surgery.
