TRANSPARENCY OR ACCOUNTABILITY? THE PURPOSE OF ONLINE TECHNOLOGIES FOR NONPROFITS
GEORGETTE E. DUMONT 한국행정학회 2013 International Review of Public Administration Vol.18 No.3
Transparency and accountability are two issues that are ubiquitous fornonprofits. Today, the application of these issues has moved from solelytraditional mediums to include online technologies. Through content analysesof nonprofit websites and in-depth interviews, this paper seeks to determineif nonprofit leaders see a conceptual connection between transparency andaccountability and their online communication mediums. It was foundthat most still visualize online communication tools as a medium to pushinformation out to stakeholders. In addition, a pattern was found between anexecutive director’s conceptualization of the purpose of online tools and theorganization’s use of its website with regard to the amount of information itprovided and the tools it adopted.
Why Would Overconfidence Generate Lower Performance? Insights from an Experimental Study
M. Martin Boyer,Laurence Dumont,Jé,rô,me Martin,Pierre-Majorique Lé,ger 국제금융소비자학회 2020 The International Review of Financial Consumers(IR Vol.5 No.2
Overconfidence is recognized as one of the most important behavioral biases in decision-making. Using results from a controlled lab experiment we find that participants who display more confidence perform worse than other participants, whereas participants who say they are confident do not perform worse. We also find evidence that more confident traders also have lower visual attention levels (using an eye-tracking software), lower visual working memory (measured using an “n-back 1” test), and higher physiological arousal (using electro-dermal activity). Although conducted using a small sample of novice traders, our findings represent a first step in explaining how overconfidence and performance are related in financial markets.

In recent decades, the concept of biorefinery has gained considerable momentum as a promisingapproach to obtain energy commodity chemicals. 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is one of the mostpromising building blocks for biobased chemicals and a strong candidate for large scale production. However, one of the main factors holding its transition is the need for green, sustainable, andfinanciallyfeasible processes. This review provides a critical assessment of the progresses made towards catalyticand autocatalytic systems used for HMF production, as well as advancements in catalyst research, theirmechanisms analyses, efficiency and sustainability. It also provides key information which can facilitatethe selection and development of catalysts for HMF production.
Direct drainage of the basal vein of Rosenthal into the superior petrosal sinus: a literature review
Santiago Gutierrez,Joe Iwanaga,Aaron S. Dumont,R. Shane Tubbs 대한해부학회 2020 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.53 No.4
An adult male was found to have a variation of the left basal vein of Rosenthal after presenting with complaints of headache and balance issues. In this case, the vein drained directly into the left superior petrosal sinus (SPS) instead of the great vein of Galen. Anatomical variation of the basal vein is likely due to embryonic development of the deep cerebral venous system as primitive structures either differentiate regress or further with age. These changes may result in the uncommon presentation seen in this case. To our knowledge, this is the first case that shows the basal vein drains into the SPS. The normal and variant anatomy of this vessel are discussed.
