        This paper presents the photovoltaic(PV) water pumping system with a maximum power point tracking(MPPT). The water pumping system uses a variable speed single phase induction motor(SPIM) driven a centrifugal pump by field oriented control(FOC) inverter. The MPPT using a DC-DC converter controlled the duty cycle to track maximum power from PV under different insolation conditions. The duty cycle directly relate with a flux producing current control(i<SUB>ds</SUB>). The FOC inverter uses a current control voltage source inverter(CC-VSI). The simulation results are shown that the characteristics and performance of drive system, which varies as each conditions of light by expresses in voltage(V<SUB>dq</SUB>), current(I<SUB>dq</SUB>), speed of motor and torque.

        A Synthetic Naringenin Derivative, 5-Hydroxy-7,4′-diacetyloxyflavanone-<i>N</i>-phenyl Hydrazone (N101-43), Induces Apoptosis through Up-regulation of Fas/FasL Expression and Inhibition of PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathways in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer Cells

        <P>Naringenin, a well-known naturally occurring flavonone, demonstrates cytotoxicity in a variety of human cancer cell lines; its inhibitory effects on tumor growth have spurred interest in its therapeutic application. In this study, naringenin was derivatized to produce more effective small-molecule inhibitors of cancer cell proliferation, and the anticancer effects of its derivative, 5-hydroxy-7,4′-diacetyloxyflavanone-<I>N</I>-phenyl hydrazone (N101-43), in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines NCI-H460, A549, and NCI-H1299 were investigated. Naringenin itself possesses no cytotoxicity against lung cancer cells. In contrast, N101-43 inhibits proliferation of both NCI-H460 and A549 cell lines; this capacity is lost in p53-lacking NCI-H1299 cells. N101-43 induces apoptosis via sub-G<SUB>1</SUB> cell-cycle arrest in NCI-H460 and via G<SUB>0</SUB>/G<SUB>1</SUB> arrest in A549 cells. Expression of apoptosis and cell-cycle regulatory factors is altered: Cyclins A and D1 and phospho-pRb are down-regulated, but expression of CDK inhibitors such as p21, p27, and p53 is enhanced by N101-43 treatment; N101-43 also increases expression levels of the extrinsic death receptor Fas and its binding partner FasL. Furthermore, N101-43 treatment diminishes levels of cell survival factors such as PI3K and p-Akt dose-dependently, and N101-43 additionally induces cleavage of the pro-apoptotic factors caspase-3, caspase-8, and poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP). Cumulatively, these investigations show that the naringenin derivative N101-43 induces apoptosis via up-regulation of Fas/FasL expression, activation of caspase cascades, and inhibition of PI3K/Akt survival signaling pathways in NCI-H460 and A549 cells. In conclusion, these data indicate that N101-43 may have potential as an anticancer agent in NSCLC.</P>

        The Impacts of Korean Exporting Firms’ Market Orientation and Learning Orientation on Product Innovation Performance

        This study tries to explain the influence of market orientation and learning orientation on firms' performance like product innovation. In order to that, it empirically investigates the impact of the independent and its relative impacts on product innovation.The empirical results show that sub-dimensions like commitment to learning, shared vision and open-mindedness are positively related to product innovation performance. However, only two sub-dimensions of market orientation out of three are positively related to product innovation performance. So, the relationship between market orientation and product innovation performance is partially supported. Additionally, learning orientation tends to more heavily influence on product innovation performance.This study supported the previous research results supposing that learning orientation and market orientation are very important to improve product innovation performance. Also, it suggests the relative importance of learning orientation due to efficiency in terms of cost structure and difficulty to be imitated as invisible asset.

        한국 기업의 사회적책임 활동이 경영성과 및 기업가치에 미치는 영향

        [연구목적] 본 연구에서는 기업의 사회적책임(CSR) 활동이 기업의 경영성과 및 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 실증분석하고, 그 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. [연구방법] 본 연구는 기업의 사회적책임(CSR) 활동이 경영성과 및 기업가치에 미치는 영향에 대한 기존에 수행되었던 연구들과 논의를 충분히 검토하였고, 이를 바탕으로 4가지 가설을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 2011년~2014년까지 한국지배구조원에서 발표하고 있는 ESG점수를 사회적책임(CSR) 활동의 대용변수로 활용하여 실증분석을 실행하였다. [연구결과] 기업의 사회적책임(CSR) 활동이 경영성과 및 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 첫째, R&D 지출과 CSR 간에는 통계적으로 유의하게 양(+)의 관계가 나타났다. 둘째, CSR과 매출액 간에도 유의한 양(+)의 관계가 나타났다. 셋째, CSR과 수익성 (ROA, ROE) 간에는 유의한 음(-)의 관계가 나타났다. 넷째, CSR과 기업가치(Tobin’s Q, PBR)는 유의한 양(+)의 관계가 나타났다. [연구의 시사점] 기업의 사회적책임(CSR) 활동은 매출액에 대해서는 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 수익성에는 부정적으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 비록 수익성은 낮더라도 매출액 증가로 인하여 절대적인 수익 증가가 나타난다면 장기적으로 기업가치는 증대할 것으로 기대된다. 향후 이에 대한 추가연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. [Purpose] In this study, we aimed to provide suggestions by examining the impact of CSR activities on corporate performance and firm value. [Methodology] We conducted an empirical analysis using ESG scores published by the Korea Governance Service from 2011 to 2014 as a proxy for CSR activities. [Findings] We found the following empirical results. First, we found a positive and significant relation between R&D expenditures and CSR activities. Second, we found a positive and significant relation between CSR and sales. By contrast, the relation between CSR and profitability (ROA and ROE) was significantly negative. Fourth, we found a positive and significant association between CSR and firm value (Tobin’s Q and PBR). [Implications] Korean firms’ CSR activities were found to have a positive effect on sales, but negatively on profitability. However, even if short-term profitability is low, an increase in sales along with R&D expenditures can lead to an increase in long-term firm value.

      • Morphological Characteristics and Karyotypic Analysis of Aster spathulifolius According to Native Area

        The growth charateristics and karyotypes of Aster spathulifolius collected from 5 sites including coastal and island region on the Korean peninsula, were analysed. Several morphological characteristics of the plants such as leaf length, leaf width, top internode, medium internode, spike branching, flower diameter, number of petal, leaf color, leaf form, stem and leaf hair, viscosity, and serration of the plants were distinctly different depending on the native region from which they were collected. Karyotypic analysis showed that the chromosome number was all diploid (2n=18), with one pair of submetacentric satellite chromosomes. The chromosome composition included 7 pairs of metacentric chromosomes and 2 pairs of submetacentric chromosomes in all plants. However, chromosome order and the ranges of the chromosome lengths were a little different from plant to plant according to their native growing regions. The plants from Geoje-Do especially showed large differences in the chromosome lengths between the longest and the shortest compared to the plants from other places. This results provide important data to support the classification of the species into several sub-species.

        2,4-bis (p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butenal (HPB242) induces apoptosis via modulating E7 expression and inhibition of PI3K/Akt pathway in SiHa human cervical cancer cells.

        <P>The Maillard reaction is a chemical reaction occurring between an amino acid and a reducing sugar, usually requiring thermal processing. Maillard reaction products (MRPs) have antioxidant, antimutagenic, and antibacterial effects, and although 2,4-bis (p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butenal (HPB242), a fructose-tyrosine MRP, appears to inhibit proliferation of cancer cells, its mechanism of action has not been studied in detail. We found that HPB242 treatment modulated expression of cyclins and tumor suppressor genes in SiHa human cervical cancer cell lines: cyclins and phospho-pRB were downregulated, whereas the expression of CDK inhibitors and p53 was enhanced. HPB242 induced apoptosis dose-dependently by suppressing E7 expression and leading to sub-G1 cell-cycle arrest in SiHa cell lines; treatment also led to the proteolytic cleavage of caspase-3, -9, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase. Moreover, HPB242 upregulated Fas expression, altered expressions of pro- and antiapoptotic factors, and also inhibited nuclear translocation of nuclear factor κB and phosphorylation of IκB. HPB242 treatment decreased phosphatidyl inositol-3 kinase and p-Akt expression levels, demonstrating that this survival pathway may also be inhibited by HPB242. Cumulatively, HPB242 promotes apoptosis by influencing E7 expression, inducing cell-cycle arrest at sub-G1 phase, and promoting both intrinsic (mitochondrial) and extrinsic (Fas-dependent) apoptosis in SiHa human cervical cancer cells.</P>

        Shelf Life Determination of Precooked Frozen Meat Dumplings

        Quality of frozen foods is significantly affected by the storage temperature and tie, and the consumers' demand for safe quality frozen foods is increasing. The objective of this research was to estimate the shelf life of frozen cooked meat dumplings, based on the changes in the selected physico-chemical and sensory quality attributes. Precooked frozen meat dumplings sampled from the same lot produced at a frozen food company in Seoul were stored at -10, -15, and -20℃. The meat dumplings sampled at 3- to 4-week intervals were subjected to the determination of volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), thiobarbituric acid (TBA), peroxide value (POV), surface color and shear value after thawing at 5℃ for 15 h. High quality life (HQL) was determined through the triangle test and practical quality life (PQL) through the scoring test. VBN, TBA and POV increased as the storage period was increased. HQL of the frozen meat dumplings were 189 and 252 days at -10 and -15℃, respectively. The estimated PQL were 349, 475, and 491 days at -10, -15, and -20 ℃, respectively. Statistical analysis indicated that there were significant relationships between sensory scores and VBN and POV of the stored meat dumplings. VBN was selected as the most reliable objective quality index for the shelf life determination (PQL) of the precooked frozen meat dumplings.

        This paper is proposed the vector control of 3-phase induction motor drive system by photovoltaic generation. For performance of vector control using a current control voltage source inverter(CC-VSI). CC-VSI is controlled by torque and flux producing component of motor current, relating with current and and voltage value of photovoltaic arrays at maximum power point that varies follow different level of insolation. The MPPT using a DC-DC converter controlled the duty cycle to track maximum power from PV under different insolation conditions. The simulation results are shown that the characteristics and performance of drive system, which varies as each conditions of light by expresses in voltage(V<SUB>dq</SUB>), current(I<SUB>dq</SUB>), speed of motor and torque.

        This paper is proposed a novel method to approximate the maximum power for a photovoltaic inverter system and tracking method. It is designed for power systems application and utilities. The proposed Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) control has the advantage to provide a new simple way to approximate the optimal or rated voltage, the optimal or rated current and maximum power rating produced by a solar pane1 and the photovoltaic inverter. And this straightforward method will be named linear reoriented coordinates method(LRCM) with the advantage that Pmax and V<SUB>op</SUB> can be approximated using the same variable as the dynamic model without using complicate approximations or Taylor series. Furthermore tracking method is improved over 50% photovoltaic efficiency. This paper is proposed MPPT using LRMC and tracking method using weather condition of domestic moderate program technique. This paper is proposed the experimental results to verify the effectiveness of the new methods.

        Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. This paper proposes maximum torque control of IPMSM drive using adaptive fuzzy neural network controller and artificial neural network(ANN). This control method is applicable over the entire speed range which considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current i<SUB>d</SUB> for maximum torque operation is derived. This paper considers the design and implementation of novel technique of high performance speed control for IPMSM using Adaptive-FNN controller and ANN controller. The hybrid combination of neural network and fuzzy control will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Also, this paper proposes speed control of IPMSM using Adaptive-FNN and estimation of speed using ANN controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system controlled Adaptive-FNN and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper proposes the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the Adaptive-FNN and ANN controller.
