        Background and Objectives : Branchial cleft anomalies are encountered rarely in clinical practice. We reviewed medical records of branchial cleft anomalies according to age and sex distribution, site distribution, characteristics of mass on physical examination, location of mass, preoperative diagnosis, type of branchial cleft cyst and report our experience with 25 cases of branchial cleft anomalies. Materials and Methods : A review of medical records was performed on 25 cases of branchial cleft anomalies diagnosed in pathologic report from January, 1990 to March, 2000. Result : Sex distribution was 11 male and 14 female, age distribution was most common in third decade which was 8 cases(32%). Site distribution was predominant in left side(13 cases), and in physical examination, the characteristics of the mass was nontender(76%), mobile(60%), soft(80%). The lesion site was submandibular area in 2 cases, upper 1/3 portion of sternocleidomastoid muscle(SCM) in 2 cases, middle 1/3 portion of SCM in 20 cases and parotid area in 1 case. The preoperative diagnosis was branchial cleft cyst in 16 cases, cervical lymphadenitis in 3 cases, tuberculous lymphadenitis in 3 cases, branchial cleft fistula in 1 case, dermoid cyst in 1 case and parotid mass in 1 case. Among 25 cases, first branchial cleft cyst was seen in 4 cases, second branchial cleft cyst in 20 cases and second branchial cleft fistula in 1 case. Conclusion : The clinical history of recurrent neck inflammatory episodes in young patients and nontender, mobile, soft neck mass should raise the suspicion of this entity. Investigation using CT scanning in combination with aspiration is useful. Treatment of all branchial cleft anomalies is complete surgical excision because there is lack of spontaneous regression, a high rate of recurrent infection, the possibility of other diagnosis, and rare malignant degeneration. Complete removal without complications depends on a good understanding of regional embryogenesis, a knowledge of the surrounding structure, and awareness of the different anatomical presentation.

        We selected at random 29 patients who had recieved operation under the epidural anesthesia. The patients were divided into two groups. Group I (control) were 12 cases below 59 years old. Group II were 17 cases above 60 years old. The changes of heart rates, systolic and diastolic pressure, and body temperature were compared in two groups The results were as follows; 1. The changes in heart rate after epidural anesthesia were not significant between two groups. 2. The changes in systolic and diastolic pressure were significantly decreased in both groups and were not significant difference between two groups. 3. Body temperature was significantly decreased in both groups and showed significant difference between two groups in an hour after epidural anesthesia. 4. Hypotension(systolic pressure < 85 torr) occured in 1 patient in group I and 4 patients in group II.

        Analysis of Electromagnetic Wave Scattering from a Sea Surface Using a Monte-Carlo FDTD Technique

        In this paper, a novel varactor-tuned combline bandpass filter is presented. The coupling varactor diode between line elements is introduced to control the passband bandwidth so that the passband bandwidth can be maintained almost constant within the tuning range. The equivalent circuit and design equations are derived, and the optimum design is discussed. A 1.7 GHz, two-pole bandpass filter with a bandwidth of 4.5 % was constructed. The absolute passband bandwidth was maintained almost constant within more than 0.4This paper presents a Monte-Carlo FDTD technique to determine the scattered field from a perfectly conducting surface like a sea surface, from which the useful information on the incoherent pattern tendency could be observed. A one-dimensional sea surface used to analysis scattering was generated using the Pierson-Moskowitz model. In order to verify the numerical results by this technique, these results are compared with those of the small perturbation method, which show a good match between them. investigate the incoherent pattern tendency involved, the dependence of the back scattering coefficients on the different wind speed(U) is discussed for the back scattering case. octave tuning range.

        슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기를 이용한 소형 협 대역통과 필터 설계 및 제작

        본 논문에서는 슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기를 이용하여 마이크로스트립 기판상에 구현될 소형 협 대역통과 필터설계기법을 제안한다. 이 필터의 설계기법은 슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기, 패치사이의 용량성 갭, 그리고 미앤더 구조를 가진 유도성 스터브의 조합으로 구성된 필터 단들의 종속 연결에 근거를 두고 있다. 그 기법하에서 거의 대칭인 필터응답, 가변 대역폭, 그리고 소형필터를 구현할 수 있었다. 제안된 필터는 기존의 필터보다 저지대역에서 우수한 차단특성을 가졌다. 측정결과, 삽입손실은 중심주파수(??=1㎓)에서 -3.47㏈, 통과대역에서 -12.62㏈ 이하, 3㏈ 대역폭은 약 7.3%로 나타났다. 제작된 필터의 관심 영역 주파수응답은 CST사의 MWS(Microwave Studio)로 전산모의 실험된 값과 잘 일치되었다. In this paper, a design method of the compact narrow band filter on the microstrip board is proposed using slot-type split spiral resonators. The design technique of this filter is based on cascading filter stages consisting of the combination of slot-type split spiral resonators, capacitive gaps between patches, and inductive grounded stubs with the meander configuration. By these means, it was possible to get the nearly symmetric frequency responses, adjustable bandwidths, compact sizes. And also excellent characteristic of the out-of-band rejection is achieved in contrast to the conventional filter design technique. The measured insertion loss shows good results about -3.47㏈ at the center frequency(??=1㎓) and passband return loss is less than -12.62㏈. The 3㏈ fractional bandwidth(FBW) is approximately 7.3%. The results of the frequency response measured on the fabricated band pass filter substrate show satisfactory agreement with the simulated frequency responses by the MWS(Microwave Studio) of CST in the region of interest.

        마이크로스트립 선로를 이용한 광대역 차단특성을 가지는 저역통과 필터 설계

        본 논문에서는 광 대역 저지대역특성을 가지는 저역통과필터를 마이크로스트립 선로를 이용하여 설계 및 제작하였다. 개방회로 스티브를 이용한 L-C ladder형 저역통과 필터의 입.출력단에 길이가 ㅅg/4 인 개방 스티브를 부가함으로써,광대역 차단특성을 가지는 필터를 개발하였다. 필터의 전체길이를 줄이기 위해 고 임피던스 마이크로스트립 라인을 미앤더(meander) 구조로 제작하였다. 제작된 필터는 차단주파수가 2.3 GHz인 저역통과필터였고, 측정된 결과는 전산모의실험에서 예측된 값들과 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다. In this paper, we designed and fabricated the lowpass filter with the wide stopband characteristics using microp- strip line. Adding the ㅅg/4 open stub at the input and output ports, we developed the L-C ladder type lowpass filter using the open stub which has wide stopband characteristics. In order to reduce the entire size of this filter, the high impedance microstrip lines were made with the meander structure. The lowpass filter was fabricated with the cutoff frequency 2.3 GHz and its measured frequency responses agree well with the simulation results.

        초고주파용 필터설계를 위한 결합행렬 합성법

        본 논문에서는 필터함수의 감쇄극점(poles)과 반사손실(Return Loss)로부터 전송계수(S₂₁)와 반사계수(S₁₁)를 도출하고, 이 값들로부터 대역통과필터 설계를 위한 결합계수행렬 계산법을 제시하였다. 계산된 결합계수행렬에 유사변환을 적용하여서 결합계수행렬을 접힌 표준형 필터 구조의 커플링계수 행렬로 변환하였다. 그 결과를 이용하여 접힌 표준형 필터를 설계하였다. In this paper, the methods are presented for the calculation of general coupling coefficient matrixes used in the band pass filter design. They are calculated from transmission coefficient(S₂₁) and reflection coefficient(S₁₁) with desired characteristics derived from the poles of filter function and return loss(RL). The calculated matrixes from this method are transformed to the folded canonical filter structure using similarity transformation which lends us the practical filter design. Based on the resulting matrix, the folded canonical filter has been designed.

        북한의 멸종위기동물과 관련 분야 남북한 협력방안

        본 연구는 북한의 멸종위기동물 분류 현황을 바탕으로 관련 분야의 남북한 협력방안을 모색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2016년 북한이 발간한 멸종위기동물 목록도서에 대한 연구를 진행하였으며, 반달가슴곰, 따오기 등 멸종위기동물의 남북한 공동 복원사업은 성공 가능성이 높다는 사실을 확인했다. 북한은 국제적 기준을 적용해 자국 내 멸종위기동물에 대한 조사와 분류 작업을 마쳤으며, 또한 남한에서 사라진 호랑이 등이 북한 지역에서 여전히 목격되고 있다. 그리고 남한은 반달가슴곰과 같은 대형 포유류 복원사업을 성공적으로 수행하고 있다. 남북한이 함께 멸종위기동물 보호사업을 추진한다면, 한반도 자연생태계의 보호와 남북한 교류·협력 활성화에도 기여할 것이다. The purpose of this paper is to examine the current status of the endangered animals in North Korea and suggest an inter-Korean cooperation plan for protecting these animals. We reviewed firstly a study published in 2016 by North Korea concerning endangered animals in North Korea. The study has completed the investigation and classification of endangered animals by applying international classification standards. We argued that two Koreas’ joint project for the restoration and protection of endangered species such as Asiatic black bears, Japanese crested ibis, and Siberian tigers has a high probability of success. In fact, South Korea already succeeded to restore some large mammals like Asiatic black bear. If two Koreas jointly promote an endangered animal restoration project and restore the connection of the natural ecosystem on the Korean Peninsula, this will serve as an opportunity to positively influence social-and-economic exchanges and cooperations between two Koreas.

        This paper describes the characteristic feather of propulsion system adopting mass production. The train formation is composed of 4 cars by 2 Motor cars and 2 Train cars. Acceleration rate must be 3.0 ㎞/h/s or more when the car starts up to 35㎞/h by 16ton of passenger load. The system information supervision is easy because the system is controlled to perfect digital circuits, all information of an action is stored in a memory and is managed. The control system is composed of a fully digital circuit and a high level software such as C language. The DSP TMS320C31 is used for main processor and has the capability of 50㎒, 32bit floating point operation and has a C compiler. Therefore, the implementation of control algorithm and the change of function are easy. VVVF inverter using IGBT conducted variable combined test, environment test using chamber, interface test and field test etc.
