        Percentage Body Fat is As a Good Indicator for Determining Adolescents Who Are Overweight or Obese: A Cross-Sectional Study in Vietnam

        Objectives: To identify trends in percentage body fat (PBF) in adolescents to determine gender-specific classification thresholds for being overweight and obese. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 899 adolescents (11 to 14.5 years) from Hanoi and Nam Dinh was conducted in Vietnam. PBF, subcutaneous fat and percentage of lean mass were measured directly using OMRON HBF 375 scales to measure bioelectrical impedance. Results: PBF decreased in boys with increasing age (p < 0.001). The difference in PBF between boys and girls, significantly increased with age after 12.5 years (p < 0.001). There was a stronger correlation between PBF and fat content (Pearson’s r = 0.860, p < 0.0001) than that between (BMI) and fat content (Pearson’s r = 0.521, p < 0.0001). The prevalence of being overweight or obese in girls was similar when determined by PBF or BMI. Hanoi had higher rates of adolescents being overweight or obese compared with Nam Dinh. Conclusion: PBF provides a more accurate body assessment for being overweight or obese in adolescents compared with BMI.

        Factors Affecting the Intention to Distribute in Sort Plastic Waste of Vietnamese People: A Case Study in Ho Chi Minh City

        Purpose: This paper (1) identifies the factors that affect people's changing habits towards waste sorting, (2) evaluates the benefits of waste sorting to the environment and (3) designs communication strategies to change people's behavior and habits in sorting plastic waste in Ho Chi Mnh City, Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: Using the data from 309 people that are living in Ho Chi Minh City and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), to evaluate variables and test the hypotheses. Results: Research results show that attitudes, subjective standards, behavioral control, and facilities affect people's intention to classify plastic waste. We find that environmental concerns greatly influence people's attitudes. In contrast, environmental concerns have a relatively weaker effect on people's degree of behavioral control. Conclusion: Environmental protection is a matter of concern in the world. In Vietnam, this issue has been institutionalized into law to create a basis for improving the effectiveness of environmental protection activities. This article has some limitations. Firstly, sample is limited to HCMC residents; the study results are not representative of the entire population of Vietnam. This paper is based on cross-sectional data, which is not the best way to establish a causal relationship between the intention to sort plastic waste and its drivers.

        The effect of structural characteristics and external conditions on the dynamic behavior of shear deformable FGM porous plates in thermal environment

        This research examines the influent of structural characteristics (shape, size, material properties, porosity), external conditions (mechanical load, thermal load, and foundation parameters) on the vibration and nonlinear dynamic response of shear deformable porous plates made of functionally graded materials (FGM) in the thermal environment and rested on the Pasternak’s elastic foundation. Reddy’s third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT) and von Kármán’s geometric nonlinearity are used to explore the structural behavior of thick FGM porous plates with two types of porosity distribution in FGM porous plates namely, even and uneven patterns. The solutions are obtained through the Bubnov-Galerkin method and RungeKutta methods. The outcomes are compared with other research in the result section to assess the reliability of the solution method in the paper.

        A Novel Fusion Method for 3D-TV View Synthesis Using Temporal and Disparity Correlations

        View synthesis like depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) plays a significant role in content creation for three-dimensional television. However, perceptual errors introduced by current view synthesis often result in severe distortions in synthesized images. In this paper, we propose a novel view synthesis fusion (VSF) method that adaptively exploits temporal and disparity correlations to improve the quality of the synthesized picture. The proposed VSF method defines a robust correlation assessment metric for fusing several pre-created virtual-view candidates. Unlike conventional methods, the proposed fusion algorithm is applied to both hole and non-hole areas. Experimental results show the proposed method significantly outperforms in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and subjective visual quality, compared to other conventional methods.

        Effects of Rotor-Bleeding Airflow on Aerodynamic and Structural Performances of a Single-Stage Transonic Axial Compressor

        This paper presents the effects of airflow bleed from the rotor shroud surface between leading and trailing edges on aerodynamic and structural performances of a single-stage transonic axial compressor, NASA stage 37, using three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations with the k–ε turbulence model. A small airflow mass flow rate is bleed throughout a rotor-bleeding ejector which designed by seven parameters: bleeding angle (°) and ejection angles (°), ejection depth (D), bleeding thickness (H), bleeding position from rotor leading edge (L) in flow direction, bleeding ejection curvature (R), and bleeding width contacted on rotor shroud surface (W). The numerical results for aerodynamic performance: total pressure ratio, adiabatic efficiency, and stall margin of a transonic axial compressor were validated with a smooth casing experimental data. A parametric study of seven design parameters of rotor-bleeding ejector above combined with a small ejection mass flow rate in a single-stage transonic axial compressor for aerodynamic and structural performances was performed. The numerical results show that all aerodynamic performance increases with bleeding airflow from rotor shroud surface, the total deformation on rotor tip leading edge in spanwise direction reduces with a very small increasing in Von-Mises stress in a reference-bleeding airflow as compared to the results of smooth casing.

        Effect of nanostructured MoS2 morphology on the glucose sensing of electrochemical biosensors

        In this study, the effects of the morphological characteristics of MoS2 nanomaterials on the glucose sensing of electrochemical biosensors were explored. Nanostructured MoS2 materials, including nanoparticles (NPs), nanoflowers (NFs), and nanoplatelets (NPLs), were prepared via a simple hydrothermal method. The structure and morphological characteristics of MoS2 nanomaterials were examined through X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. Electrochemical properties were analyzed through cyclic voltammetry. Results showed that the obtained sensitivity was 64, 68.7, and 77.6 μAmM 1 cm 2 for MoS2 NP-, MoS2 NF-, and MoS2 NPL-based biosensors, respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) of all MoS2-based glucose biosensors was 0.081 mM. In addition, the pH, temperature, glucose oxidase (GOx) concentration, reproducibility, specificity, and stability of glucose biosensors with different MoS2 morphologies were also investigated and indicated the oxidation current response of the MoS2 NPL-based glucose biosensor was higher than that of MoS2 NF- and NP-based biosensors.

        Efficacy of electrochemically activated water solution in gingivitis treatment

        Mouthwash is one of the most commonly oral healthcare products for prevention and treatment of gum diseases. Dr. ECA is a disinfectant solution manufactured by a Vietnamese company and has been licensed for oral healthcare, but its effect on gingivitis is still unclear. To evaluate the effectiveness of this product in the treatment of gingivitis, we conducted a clinical study in 60 students diagnosed with gingivitis to compare the results of gingivitis treatment using Dr. ECA and a control mouthwash (a demonstrated anti-gingivitis product). The data showed that in the treated group, the rate of good Gingivitis Index (GI) before treatment was 46.67%, but after 2 and 4 weeks of using Dr. ECA that rate was increased to 96.67% and 100%, respectively. The percentage of patients with bleeding on probing was 63.33% but declined sharply after 2 weeks of treatment to 6.67%, and further reduced to 3.33% after 4 weeks of treatment. The treatment outcomes in were similar in the Dr. ECA treated group and control one with no statistically significant difference. Our results suggest that the electrolyte saline solution Dr. ECA is effective in treating gingivitis. Its effects are similar to other mouthwash products that had been approved and marketed.

        Oxidize Graphene by UV-Ozone Treatment in Vacuum Chamber

        <P>As changing graphene properties is vital to promote it as electronic device, we developed graphene modified method with epoxy group by two simple methods: ultraviolet irradiation with various partial oxygen pressures and ultraviolet irradiation under rich oxygen condition with various temperatures. By Hall measurement, the electric mobility in graphene was decreased with increasing temperature during UV-ozone treatment at 50 degrees C, 80 degrees C, 100 degrees C and 120 degrees C. At low partial oxygen pressure (less than 160 Torr) the oxidation degree is not significant. Additionally, Raman spectroscopy showed the disrupted pi-pi structure in graphene. Based on the above identification we supposed that epoxy group might establish on graphene surface.</P>

        쯔놈과 놈 문학-중대 베트남 문화의 찬란한 성과

        After obtaining the nation’s independence, Vietnam feudal dynasties continued to use Han as the official script. However, to satisfy people’s daily need, Nom was created and became an outstanding accomplishment in Vietnamese literature, which expressed the national esteem, power as well as position of Vietnamese language. Nom script was steadily improved, and Vietnamese people started to use Nom in literature work from XIII century. This was a significant improvement in national esteem and as well as a remarkable development in literature. History of Nom literature spread in seven centuries and was divided into four periods: Period 1 (the X century - the XIV century): Come along with Han, Nom script started to appear in literature since Tran’s dynasties. This is the vital achievement in the period which set up the basis for the development of composing in national language in the following centuries. Period 2 (the XV century -the XVII century): Besides accomplishments in Han compositions, Nom literature with diverse styles was well developed and attained worthy achievements, which set a firm fundamental for the development later on. The success of Tho Nom Duong luat was marked with the existence of massive collections (including hundreds of poems). This time was the outstanding period in the literature history. Period 3 (the XVIII century - the beginning of XIX century): This time was considered as the golden age in the history with a notable development in Nom literature. With traditional literary styles, compositions written in Nom created masterpieces in literary heritages. Period 4 (from the late XIX century): In transformation process of national literature from medieval to modern, Nom compositions continuously played an importance role in create the unique features in this stage. The appearance and development of Nom literature is a must in the Vietnamese literature history in the process of building up our literature, In this process, the compositions written by several famous authors, for example Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Doan Thi Diem, Nguyen Gia Thieu, Ho Xuan Huong, Nguyen Du, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Nguyen Khuyen, Tu Xuong, and etc., have created a series of valued masterpiece; among those, ‘Doan truong tan thanh’ (Truyen Kieu) written by Nguyen Du is consider the number one masterpiece. Hence, Nom literature achievement has claimed an important role of Vietnamese language in literature compositions. The appearance of Nom script and Nom literature are astounding successes of Vietnamese literature in medieval period. With Nom written language, so many traditional literary styles were created and added worthy values into Vietnamese literature. The first achievement was to vietnamize Duong luat style to make up Tho Nom Duong luat - a style of poetry of which all the features of Vietnamese poetry were taken into account. The second success was creating two kinds of whtten compositions named Truyen Nom and Khuc ngam song that luc bat on the basis of folk poetry (six-eight meter and double seven six-eight meter style) In Nom compositions, public language used to be considered informal speech was brought into written work. The process of setting up Nom literature was the development of language selection and usage as well as the improvement in expression abilities and art level of national language. Nom compositions insisted the values, fates, right of existence and aspirations of human, especially those of women. Those were the general topics in our literature which followed humanism. As a result, democracy in content which required nationalized manners of expression in terms of written language, style of poetry and speech became the norm in Vietnamese literature. Vietnam has officially been a member of IRG since 2000. Written Nom has been encoded to add into international symbol system with similar script in the area. As a result, Nom written language created by Vietnamese people has been internationally recognized as a unique contribution to the cultural treasure of humanity.
