Dehydrogenation of ethylene diamine bisborane (EDAB) is carried out in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumhydrogen sulfate ([EMIM][HSO4]) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([BMIM][HSO4])ionic liquids (ILs) at 40–100 C and 410 2 mbar gauge pressure. Within 30 min, 3.90 and 3.92cumulative equivalent hydrogen generation are measured in EDAB/[EMIM][HSO4] and EDAB/[BMIM][HSO4] respectively at 100 C. NMR characterization elucidates the intermediate and product formationduring dehydrogenation along with the structural integrity of ILs. The EDAB/[EMIM][HSO4] complex isproved to be more stable with an overall interaction energy of471.29 KJ mol 1 when compared to EDAB/[BMIM][HSO4]. Hydrogen bond interactions are further calculated by natural bond orbital analysis.

The current work presents a mechanistic insight of hydrogen production from ammonia borane (AB) facilitated by the phosphonium based ionic liquid (IL), trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bis (2,4,4-trimethylpentyl) phosphinate ([TDTHP][Phosph]). Prior to experiments, the IL was screened from a pool of 11 phosphonium ILs with the infinite dilution activity coefficients (IDAC) values as predicted by conductor like screening model segment activity coefficient (COSMO-SAC) theory. Thereafter, a dehydrogenation experiment of AB/[TDTHP][Phosph] was carried out at 105 oC and 4×102mbar of gauge pressure, which yielded 2.07 equivalent hydrogen production. At higher temperature, the 11B NMR characterization shows the suppression of induction period at 105 oC and appearance of borohydride anion after 1 min of dehydrogenation. Further, time-resolved characterization of AB/[TDTHP][Phosph] at 105 oC confirmed the appearance of polymeric aminoborane after 10min with a subsequent formation of polyborazylene. HR-MS characterization coupled with 1H resonance spectrum confirmed structural integrity of IL. The dual characterization of NMR and HR-MS led us to propose a dehydrogenation mechanism of AB/[TDTHP][Phosph] system
AN OPTIMAL PRAM ALGORITHM FOR A SPANNING TREE ON TRAPEZOID GRAPHS
Bera, Debashis,Pal, Madhumangal,Pal, Tapan K. 한국전산응용수학회 2003 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.12 No.1
Let G be a graph with n vertices and n edges. The problem of constructing a spanning tree is to find a connected subgraph of G with n vertices and n -1 edges. In this paper, we propose an O(log n) time parallel algorithm with O(n/ log n) processors on an EREW PRAM for constructing a spanning tree on trapezoid graphs.
THE OPTIMAL SEQUENTIAL AND PARALLEL ALGORITHMS TO COMPUTE ALL HINGE VERTICES ON INTERVAL GRAPHS
Bera, Debashis,Pal, Madhumangal,Pal, Tapan K. 한국전산응용수학회 2001 The Korean journal of computational & applied math Vol.8 No.2
If the distance between two vertices becomes longer after the removal of a vertex u, then u is called a hinge vertex. In this paper, a linear time sequential algorithm is presented to find all hinge vertices of an interval graph. Also, a parallel algorithm is presented which takes O(n/P + log n) time using P processors on an EREW PRAM. AMS Mathematics Subject Classification : 68Q22, 68Q25, 68R10
Can insecticide mixtures be considered to surmount neonicotinoid resistance in Bemisia tabaci?
Roy Debashis,Biswas Sujan,Biswas Abhisek,Chakraborty Gautam,Sarkar Pijush Kanti 한국응용곤충학회 2022 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.25 No.2
Cotton whitefly, Bemisia tabaci is an important polyphagous pest worldwide. It is exposed to various chemical insecticides throughout the year, resulting in the rapid development of insecticide resistance. Mixtures of in secticides with distinct modes of action could enhance the toxicity of chemicals more effectively than sequences or rotations in resistant pest populations. Bioassays were conducted to study the efficacy of mixtures of neon icotinoid and ketoenol insecticides at different ratios against a laboratory susceptible (Lab-WB) and a neon icotinoid resistant (TMX-SEL) strain of B. tabaci Asia I. The results showed that mixtures of imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam or dinotefuran with spiromesifen at 1:1, 1:10 and 1:20 ratios and of imidacloprid, thiamethoxam or dinotefuran with spirotetramat at 1:1 ratio significantly increased (p < 0.05) toxicity to neonicotinoids in TMX-SEL strain. The combination indices of each tested neonicotinoids + ketoenols at 1:1 ratio and of acetamiprid + spiromesifen, and imidacloprid or dinotefuran + spirotetramat at 1:10 ratio for TMX-SEL strain were significantly below 1, suggesting synergistic interactions. The inhibitors PBO and DEF largely overcame resistance to the tested neonicotinoids, while none of the synergists significantly restored the sus ceptibility of B. tabaci to ketoenols. Increased activities of P450 monooxygenase and esterase were observed in TMX-SEL strain with an elevated 2.76 and 1.32-fold, respectively. Mixtures of neonicotinoids with spiromesifen or spirotetramat at a 1:1 ratio could be used to restore the neonicotinoid susceptibility in B. tabaci.

Twenty-six rice landraces from West Bengal, India were evaluated for antixenosis and tolerance against brown planthopper (BPH) biotype 4 at the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), West Bengal. High levels of resistance were observed in six landraces, namely Badshabhog, Gamra, Haldichuri, Janglijata, Kalabhat and Khara. These phenotypically resistant rice landraces including Ptb33 exhibited lowest feeding rate, fecundity, nymphal and adult preference, survival, plant dry weight loss per mg of BPH dry weight produced (PDWL), and higher functional plant loss index (FPLI), more days to wilt and unhatched eggs compared with the susceptible check Swarna. All the landraces were classified into four major clusters at 10 unit distance by the scale of similarity during genetic diversity analysis through 21 gene-linked SSR markers of BPH resistance. Some phenotypically resistant landraces were gathered under the major cluster I indicating their analogous genetic history, while some were grouped with susceptible landraces exhibiting their genetic variation. The resistant landraces can be used as potential donors in the breeding programme for the development of rice varieties with resistance to BPH.

There is no doubt that the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 negatively impacted billions of people worldwide, and among them, people with disabilities became most susceptible. However, little is known about the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of people with disabilities in Nepal. Using empirical data from semi-structured in-depth interviews with people with disabilities, disability specialist, and community leaders, this study discusses the lived experiences of people with disabilities who have been affected by COVID-19 in Nepal. This study revealed that the outbreak of COVID-19 impacted people with disabilities by worsening their vulnerability. In particular, the majority of people with disabilities became further isolated, were disconnected from existing services such as access to information, education, and health care and many lost their income opportunities. Findings from this study further show that this pandemic affected the rights of people with disabilities guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). Immediate financial and non-financial support for people with disabilities from government and other stakeholders, such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), is needed, indicating the need for policymakers to reassess policies to ensure that they adequately protect the rights of people with disabilities.
