Danielle Teresa Scharpf,Mayur Sharma,Milind Deogaonkar,Ali Rezai,Sergio D. Bergese 대한마취통증의학회 2015 Korean Journal of Anesthesiology Vol.68 No.4
The field of functional neurosurgery has expanded in last decade to include newer indications, new devices, and new methods. This advancement has challenged anesthesia providers to adapt to these new requirements. This review aims to discuss the nuances and practical issues that are faced while administering anesthesia for deep brain stimulation surgery.
Anatomic landmark approach to reconstruction of asymmetric midline cleft lip due to Pai syndrome
Danielle L. Sobol,Benjamin B. Massenburg,Raymond W. Tse 대한성형외과학회 2020 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.47 No.5
Midline clefts of the upper lip are rare, and it is therefore important that surgeons have access to a methodical approach for when these presentations are encountered. We adapted principles of the anatomic subunit approximation for unilateral cleft lip, to the repair of midline clefts. The overt use of anatomic landmarks to define the repair results in a design that inherently adjusts to varying degrees of clefts and can accommodate asymmetries. The “measure twice, cut once” style is an advantage to new surgeons and to surgeons who seldom encounter this presentation. We describe the details of surgical repair in the context of a patient with Pai syndrome and associated nasal hamartomas that resulted in nasolabial asymmetry. This is the first report of surgical outcome following treatment of Pai syndrome and includes early and 5-year follow-up. The system of repair that we describe is applicable to both symmetric and asymmetric midline clefts.
Biosynthesis of Oleyl Oleate Wax Ester by Non-commercial Lipase
Danielle Branta Lopes,Marta Cristina Teixeira Duarte,Gabriela Alves Macedo 한국식품과학회 2011 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.20 No.5
Oleyl oleate can be considered a synthetic analogue of jojoba oil. This one has been the main natural source of wax esters for commercial applications since the global ban on whale hunting. Lipase catalyzed production of this ester was carried out using oleic acid and oleyl alcohol in a solvent-free system. Lipase from Rhizopus sp. CBMAI 1127 was used as the biocatalyst and commercial enzyme Lipozyme TL IM^® was used to compare results. The acid/alcohol molar ratio showed significant effects for both lipases and the amount of enzyme had a significant effect just for Lipozyme TL IM^®. The rate of the esterification reaction using lipase from Rhizopus sp. CBMAI 1127 was very similar to that obtained with commercial lipase. The present study also evaluated antimicrobial and emulsifying properties of this ester. Emulsifying capacity of the synthesized oleyl oleate was lower than Tween 80 and sodium dodecyl sulfate, and no antimicrobial activity was observed.

Pyun, Danielle O., Chung, Miri K. & Choi, Ho Jung. 2013. KFL learners’ acquisition of Korean locative particles: A corpus-based contrastive interlanguage analysis. Language Information. Volume 17. 23-46. Adopting the contrastive interlanguage analysis methodology, this study investigates KFL (Korean as a Foreign Language) learners’ acquisition of Korean locative case particles. A learner corpus compiled from eighty-seven intermediate learners of Korean was compared with a native speaker corpus on the frequency distribution of the five semantic categories of the Korean locative case (i.e, static location, dynamic location, time, goal, and source). In addition, learner errors on the use of locative case particles were quantified and examined according to the five semantic categories. The results of this study showed that KFL learners’ use of locative case particles substantially deviated from native speakers’ usage in frequency. Learners’ inaccurate and limited use of locative case particles were attributed to such factors as L1 transfer, overgeneralization, prior input, and interlanguage development.
Recommending Talks at International Research Conferences
Danielle H. Lee 한국지능정보시스템학회 2012 지능정보연구 Vol.18 No.3
The Paper Explores The Problem Of Recommending Talks To Attend At International Research Conferences. When Researchers Participate In Conferences, Finding Interesting Talks To Attend Is A Real Challenge. Given That Several Presentation Sessions And Social Activities Are Typically Held At A Time, And There Is Little Time To Analyze All Alternatives, It Is Easy To Miss Important Talks. In Addition, Compared With Recommendations Of Products Such As Movies, Books, Music, Etc. The Recipients Of Talk Recommendations (i.e. Conference Attendees) Already Formed Their Own Research Community On The Center Of The Conference Topics. Hence, Recommending Conference Talks Contains Highly Social Context. This Study Suggests That This Domain Would Be Suitable For Social Network-Based Recommendations. In Order To Find Out The Most Effective Recommendation Approach, Three Sources Of Information Were Explored For Talk Recommendation-Whateach Talk Is About (Content), Who Scheduled The Talks (Collaborative), And How The Users Are Connected Socially (Social). Using These Three Sources Of Information, This Paper Examined Several Direct And Hybrid Recommendation Algorithms To Help Users Find Interesting Talks More Easily. Using A Dataset Of A Conference Scheduling System, Conference Navigator, Multiple Approaches Ranging From Classic Content-Based And Collaborative Filtering Recommendations To Social Network-Based Recommendations Were Compared. As The Result, For Cold-Start Users Who Have Insufficient Number Of Items To Express Their Preferences, The Recommendations Based On Their Social Networks Generated The Best Suggestions.
