Elementos Teóricos y Conceptuales Vinculados al Crecimiento Regional de la Industria Manufacturera en México (1993-2008)

Danae Duana Avila,Karina Valencia Sandoval 한국라틴아메리카학회 2017 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.30 No.3

There are factors that condition the evolution of regional disparities in a country. In Mexico, the manufacturing sector has moved towards a regionalization of production. The objective of this research is to analyze theoretically the integration, evolution and interregional competition in the Mexican manufacturing sector, the disparities in its socioeconomic development and the measurement of the economic and social transformation from 1993 to 2008. The results show that the dynamism of the sector was based on the use of the conjunctures generated by the convergence of the productivity levels of the Japanese and European North American industries, resulting in increased competitive pressures. The productivity and growth of the sector does not ensure that social and economic levels are reached that indicate a sustained regional development process; hence, it is necessary to initiate a de-localization process or to establish new industries with a certain degree of spatial dispersion.

Mental and physical support (MAPS) for moms: preliminary findings from a prenatal health support program

Kailey Snyder,Danae Dinkel 한국한의학연구원 2019 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.8 No.1

Background: The low incidence of exercise during pregnancy and the high rates of prenatal depression indicate more opportunities are needed for mothers to engage in exercise and obtain health-related support and education. MAPS (mental & physical support) was developed to support mothers’ psychological and physical health during pregnancy. MAPS consisted of physical activity classes 2×/week followed by either a speaker or group discussion regarding a parenting or health-related topic. The primary purpose of this study was to determine if the format was feasible prior to developing a main scale randomized trial. Methods: Program measurements included a pre/post survey, post-program focus group, attendance logs and scales for exercise, self-efficacy, and social support. Results: Findings indicated the program format is well-received by participants; however, issues in attendance warrant program format alterations. Further, larger scale studies and the addition of a control group are needed. Conclusion: This format offers practitioners an effective strategy for supporting pregnant women's physical and psychological health.

El Emprendedurismo en el Estado de Hidalgo

Tirso Javier Hernandez Gracia,Danae Duana Avila 한국라틴아메리카학회 2018 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.31 No.4

The ability and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business along with handling its risks in order to obtain a benefit is the entrepreneurialism that characterizes the population of Hidalgo. The bestexample of entrepreneurship is the start of new businesses in the state of Hidalgo, which are the initiatives of people who are convinced that business development at any level is a path to success. The study developed below is the result of a research project carried out through the National Research Network of MiPYMES (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to answer the following questions: What are the characteristics and motivations of entrepreneurs in the state of Hidalgo, and what are the conditions they face to consolidate themselves as successful entrepreneurs? The most relevant results indicate that the main economic activities that have been developed in the state are the retail trade and hospitality services. The companies have an average of 3 years since their start of operations. Nearly 50% are run by female entrepreneurs whose main motivation is to increase income and have greater dependence. The main obstacles they face are government bureaucracy and lack of financing.

      • EXAMINING THE 4RS OF EMPLOYEE GREEN BEHAVIOR

        Cristina Ciocirlan,Diana Gregory-Smith,Danae Manika,Victoria. K. Wells 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2018 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2018 No.07

The study of environmental behavior is widespread in the literature. However, while substantial consideration has been given to home environmental behaviors and sustainable consumption, far less research has focused on workplace environmental behaviors. The values-beliefs-norms (VBN) model is a framework that has been utilized to examine environmental behavior but the model has rarely been applied to a workplace setting. This paper examines the “4Rs” (reducing use, reusing, repurposing, and recycling) of workplace environmental conserving behaviors, based on Ones and Dilchert’s (2013) taxonomy, along with all elements of the VBN framework. This research identifies relationships between these variables via a quantitative methodology. In doing so, this study presents a new and important application of the VBN framework to employee pro-environmental behavior and suggests potential directions for using related interventions and communications to improve environmental behavior in organizations.

        Dana KANGALAKOVA(Dana KANGALAKOVA ),Aisulu DZHANEGIZOVA(Aisulu DZHANEGIZOVA ),Zaira T. SATPAYEVA(Zaira T. SATPAYEVA ),Kuralay NURGALIYEVA(Kuralay NURGALIYEVA ),Anel A. KIREYEVA(Anel A. KIREYEVA ) 한국유통과학회 2023 유통과학연구 Vol.21 No.4

Purpose: the research aims to analyze the impact of the distribution of knowledge through online learning on the intellectual potential of PhD students and produce recommendations for policy to improve intellectual capacity. During the literature review, it was determined that a large number of studies examined the impact of online learning on the quality of education at different levels. Research design, data and methodology: the research methodology is based on subjective assessment and studying the students’ opinions. The basis of the study was a comprehensive analysis of primary data obtained through a sociological survey of PhD students. 324 respondents from humanitarian, medical and natural faculties participated in the survey. Results: the study revealed that online learning helps increase students’ intellectual potential. PhD students had a positive attitude towards the transition from traditional education to online learning. It should be noted that, according to the results, the most popular gadgets were laptops and smartphones, which were characterized by high mobility and ease of use. Based on the obtained results, recommendations were developed for the formation of online learning with a focus on increasing students’ intellectual potential. Conclusions: based on the results of the assessment of educational and innovative potential, policy recommendations and further research in this area were proposed.

Diagnosis of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and Epilepsy Outcomes in Children with Fetal Cardiac Rhabdomyoma: A Long Term Follow-up Study

        Dana Kim,Hyun-Jin Kim,Su Jeong You,Mi-Sun Yum,Tae-Sung Ko 대한소아신경학회 2019 대한소아신경학회지 Vol.27 No.4

Purpose: Prenatal diagnosis of cardiac rhabdomyoma is suggestive of the presence of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), which is commonly associated with epilepsy. This study investigated the diagnostic rate of TSC, the incidence and treatment outcomes of epilepsy, and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 50 patients with fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma between 1995 and 2017 at the Asan Medical Center Children’s Hospital. Twelve patients were excluded because of incomplete data or a follow-up of less than 1 year. Patients’ medical records were assessed for the occurrence of epilepsy during follow-up, including treatment and outcomes, electroencephalography and magnetic resonance imaging, genetic analysis findings, and neurodevelopmental status. Results: Thirty-eight patients (23 males) were diagnosed with TSC. Twenty-eight (73.7%) developed epilepsy. Infantile spasms were observed in 22 patients (78.6%), and 21 (95.5%) received vigabatrin as the first treatment, achieving subsequent freedom from seizures. At the final evaluation, 17 patients (60%) were seizure-free for over 12 months. Seizure remission was not associated with seizure onset age, the presence of cortical tubers, or TSC1/2 mutations. Patients with epilepsy had a higher prevalence of poor neurodevelopmental outcomes than did those without epilepsy (P=0.008). Conclusion: A high TSC diagnostic rate and a high incidence of early-onset epilepsy were observed in patients with prenatal cardiac rhabdomyoma, and children with TSC and epilepsy showed poor neurodevelopmental outcomes. Therefore, monitoring with electroencephalography follow-up of infants with fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma may be helpful for the early detection and treatment of epilepsy.

A Kinetic Investigation of Ethanol Oxidation on a Nickel Oxyhydroxide Electrode

Danaee, I.,Jafarian, M.,Sharafi, M.,Gobal, F. The Korean Electrochemical Society 2012 Journal of electrochemical science and technology Vol.3 No.1

Nickel modified NiOOH electrodes were used for the electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol in alkaline solutions where the methods of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry (CA) were employed. In CV studies, in the presence of ethanol, an increase in the current for the oxidation of nickel hydroxide is followed by a decrease in the corresponding cathodic current. This suggests that the oxidation of ethanol is being catalysed through mediated electron transfer across the nickel hydroxide layer comprising of nickel ions of various valence states. Under the CA regime the reaction followed a Cottrellian behavior and the diffusion coefficient of ethanol was found to be $1{\times}10^7cm^2s^{-1}$.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection and the Endocrine System

Dana Zaid,Yona Greenman 대한내분비학회 2019 Endocrinology and metabolism Vol.34 No.2

In the current era of effective antiretroviral therapies (ARTs), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection became a chronic disorder that requires long term follow-up. Among other medical issues, these patients may develop endocrine problems, specific to HIV infection and its treatment. The purpose of this review is to give an overview of common endocrine complications associated with HIV infection, and to propose diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. HIV can affect the endocrine system at several levels. Adrenal and gonadal dysfunction, osteoporosis with increased fracture risk, dyslipidemia with increased cardiovascular risk, are some of the endocrine disorders prevalent in HIV-infected patients that may negatively influence quality of life, and increase morbidity and mortality. While ARTs have dramatically increased life expectancy in the HIV-infected population, they are not devoid of adverse effects, including endocrine dysfunction. Physicians caring for HIV-infected patients should be knowledgeable and exercise a high index of suspicion for the diagnosis of endocrine abnormalities, and in particular be aware of those that can be life threatening. Endocrine evaluation should follow the same strategies as in the general population, including prevention, early detection, and treatment.

Located in the Ring of Fire, has made Indonesia a frequent target for disaster. Thegovernment began to plan and organise initiatives on a more structured management of disasterinvolving multi stakeholder from government and outside to better prepare the nation for disaster. Withthe establishment of Presidential Instruction No. 3 year 2003, e-government initiatives in Indonesiastarted. However, currently the maturity level is averagely low. This research constructs a national egovernmentarchitecture focusing in disaster management in a more holistic approach to the businessof public services. The overall process is done by implementing combined methodologies of FederalEnterprise Architecture, operating model by Ross, and MAGENTA phases. By applying thisarchitectural model, it is expected to bring a higher level of maturity of Indonesia’s e-government. Ultimately, the architectural model can be realised and utilised to serve as a way to increase thestrength of Indonesian citizens in facing disaster by having a well-organised procedures, supported witheffective IT applications and sufficient resources.
