To investigate the effect of Cyprinus carpio bile acid on human liver, concentrated and 10:1 diluted Cyprinus carpio bile acid were injected at the dose of 10ul at mouse tail vein One, three, five, seven and nine days after injection, the mice were sarcificed. The change in hepatic function were estimated by determining GOT, GPT and compared to histologic findings of liver tissue. The results of GOT level was not consistent, but the GPT was significant. From these, we concluded. 1. In concentrated injected group (A), the GPT level was highest in first day and the increased level lasted through observation. 2. In 10:1 diluted injected group (B), the GPT level was only high above normal in first day. Thereafter, the GPT level curiously decreased below the normal, which need more study. 3. Histologic hepatic changes in A group, until 3 days, hepatic cell cord disarrary and marked hepatic cellular degeneration around the central vein were seen. Therefater, although elevated GPT level, the hepatic changes showed only mild regenerated change Histologic hepatic change in B group showed no remarkable change. Above findings suggested that the liver injury was dependent on injected concentration and the hepatic injury, which was observed in early phase, appeared to be reversible. So the hepatic injury by the Cyprinus carpio bile acid appeared complete recovery course without specific complication.

In this paper, a application mehtod for physical improvement of municipal waste landfill is presented. It is called dynamic consolidation. To this end, a case of improvement project for construction site by dynamic consolidation to the waste landfill which was formed open dumping is studied. Field tests of project area is conducted, and the results of field tests is analised. From the results of the field measurements, the municipal waste landfill was compressed considerbily, and the geotechnical properties of the waste ground was improved. The pounder was penetrated below the ground level about 1.2~2.5m depth and the volume of the crater was 7.893~ 18.255m_3 when 1st step impect was finished. The coefficient of improvement depth α is 0.34~0.4. Thus, it was founded that the dynamic consolidation was sucessful for physical improvement of municipal waste landfill.

A lot of researches of high strength concrete are focussed on the axial members and flexural members. Since there is little demand to choose high strength concrete because of shear problem, it is relatively rare to study shear behavior of high strength concrete beames. But we cannot avoid this problem as shear provisons of current codes are based on the experimental results of normal strength concrete beams. In this research we perform a test of 13 beams with variables of concrete strength, transverse reinforcements and sectional types. According to the test results, the shear provisons of current codes are still conservative for high strength concrete beams without transverse reinforcements. But beams with transverse reinforcements show decreasing conservatism according to the increased strength. Although shear cracking loads show little discrepancy either for beam without transverse reinforcements or with reinforcements, crack propagation speed is very fast for members without transverse reinforcements. This phenomena cannot be found for the members with transverse reinforcements, we can suppose that unstable crack propagation and size effects are not found even for high strength concrete members with transverse reinforcement. Further we have compared test results with modified compression field theory and nonlinear finite element analysis.

Strut-and-tie models can illustrate very well the internal flow of forces in structural concrete and thereby, provide valuable assistance to the designer who is striving for an appropriate and functional conceptual design. After some introductory statements this will be demonstrated by dimensioning and detailing the support region of concrete box girders. In this paper it will be shown how a strut-and-tie model for the different arrangement of transverse diaphragm are developed and how in the model the interaction between the longitudinal and cross sections must be considered.

3The goal of this study was to develop high value mushroom foods possessing functionality. The effect of the Pholiota adiposa on the alcohol fermentation and its antihypertensive angiotensin I-converting(ACE) inhibitory activity of Korean traditional rice wine, Yakju was investigated. The ACE inhibitory activity of traditional rice wine was increased about 8% by the addition of 0.1% of the edible mushroom Pholiota adiposa ASI 24012 fruiting bodies into the mash containing 1% Lycii fructus, cooked rice, koji and antihypertensive S. cerevisiae and its Pholiota adiposa PAD-022 which showed anticholesteromia HMGCoA reductase inhibitory activity. Its quality characteristics and stability were investigated during the storage of room temperature and 40℃ for 3 months. It showed very high acceptability and also was very stable at 40℃ for 3 months[This study was supported by a grant from ARPC, 2005-2007].

<P>This article presents a simple and efficient procedure for the natural vibration analysis of rectangular plates and stiffened panels in contact with fluid on one side. The assumed mode method is applied, where the natural frequencies and mode shapes are obtained by solving an eigenvalue problem of a multi-degree-of-freedom system matrix equation derived by using Lagrange's equation of motion. The Mindlin thick plate theory is applied for a plate, and in the case of stiffened panels, the effect of framing is taken into account by adding its strain and kinetic energies to the corresponding plate energies. Potential flow theory assumptions are adopted for the fluid, and free surface waves are ignored. The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions for the fluid and structure and is utilized for the calculation of added mass using the assumed modes. The applicability and accuracy of the developed procedure are illustrated with several numerical examples using a developed in-house code. A comparison of the results with those obtained by general purpose finite element analysis software is provided, where very good agreement is achieved.</P>
Approximate natural vibration analysis of rectangular plates with openings using assumed mode method

Natural vibration analysis of plates with openings of different shape represents an important issue in naval architecture and ocean engineering applications. In this paper, a procedure for vibration analysis of plates with openings and arbitrary edge constraints is presented. It is based on the assumed mode method, where natural frequencies and modes are determined by solving an eigenvalue problem of a multi-degree-of-freedom system matrix equation derived by using Lagrange's equations of motion. The presented solution represents an extension of a procedure for natural vibration analysis of rectangular plates without openings, which has been recently presented in the literature. The effect of an opening is taken into account in an intuitive way, i.e. by subtracting its energy from the total plate energy without opening. Illustrative numerical examples include dynamic analysis of rectangular plates with rectangular, elliptic, circular as well as oval openings with various plate thicknesses and different combinations of boundary conditions. The results are compared with those obtained by the finite element method (FEM) as well as those available in the relevant literature, and very good agreement is achieved.
