      • 데이터 글러브를 이용한 손 제스처 기반 3차원 게임 구현

        데이터 글러브(Data Glove)는 손 제스처를 정의하여 시스템을 제어하는 입력장치로 가상현실기술 및 교육, 의료, 산업분야에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 이는 가상현실 속에 존재하는 사물을 현실에서 제어하게 함으로써 사용자에게 마치 현실 세계의 사물을 제어하는 느낌을 주는 장점을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이러한 데이터 글러브의 장점을 이용하여 3차원 게임에 적용시키는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 데이터 글러브로 제스처를 정의하고, 트래커(Tracker)와 연동하여 시스템을 구현한다. 구현된 시스템을 실험하기 위해서 OpenGL로 인형 뽑기 게임을 구현하고 사용자가 데이터 글러브를 착용 후 정의된 제스처를 통해 게임을 제어하도록 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 사용자들에게 좀 더 높은 몰입감을 제공하며, 향후 게임 산업 발전에도 많은 영향을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

        일부 고지혈증 폐경 여성의 Isoflavone 공급에 따른 혈중지질 변화에 관한 연구

        Intake of soy protein may decrease the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women. This study was designed to investigate the effects of isoflavone supplementation on serum lipids in 16 hyperlipidemic postmenopausal women. For this purpose, an intervention study was conducted for 12 weeks. Subjects were healthy, free-living women consuming habitual diets with 0.3 g/d of isoflavone. Food and nutrient intake was obtained by 24-hr recall method and anthropometric measurements were made. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, total serum cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol were determined before and after the isoflavone supplementation. The results were summarized as follows. The average age, height, weight and BMI of the subjects were 65.3 years, 151.4 cm, 62.2 kg and 27.1, respectively. The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were not reduced significantly with isoflavone supplementation. Total cholesterol (p < 0.001), HDL-C (p < 0.05), and LDL-C (p < 0.01) were significantly increased after isoflavone concentration. In conclusion, isoflavone supplementation was not effective to modify risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

      • 교내 수도꼭지형 냉온수기의 생수 배출 부위와 생수에 존재하는 미생물의 분포

        The distributed species and number of viable microorganisms in drinking water were monitored according to water dispenser maintenance. our purpose was to investigate the distribution of bacteria in drinking water dispenser. To analyze possible dispenser contaminations sampling were performed from 14 locations in Namseoul University for 3 months from March to May, 2010. The isolated bacteria were identified by Gram stain and biochemical test using VITEKⅡ systems. The microorganism concentrations around the water discharge areas were measured and the average of total microorganisms was determined. The number of bacteria were measured by McFarland turbidity. The water and water discharge areas were separated and identified. The isolation rates of Gram positive cocci and Gram negative bacilli were 56.5%, 17.4% respectively. The frequently isolated bacteria were Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterbacter sakazakii, Alcaligenes faecalis, Acinetobacter baumannii, Staphylococcus hominis, respectively. Further systematic studies are necessary with an emphasis on species identification. Key Words : Microorganisms, Water Discharge Areas, Drinking Water, McFarland

        3-MCPD의 생식˙발생독성에 관한 연구

        3-Monochloro-1,2-propanediol(3-MCPD) is a toxic compound, often present in different foods containing acid hydrolyzed(AH) protein, like seasonings and savory food products. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of 3-MCPD on male fertility, sperm and testosterone secretion. In vivo male fertility test was performed for observing the adverse effects of 3-MCPD on the function of male reproductive system and pregnancy outcome. 0.01, 0.05, 0.25, 1 and 5 mg/kg b.w. of 3-MCPD was given daily by gavage to groups of 15 adult male SD rats for 4 weeks. At the end of pre-treatment period, males were mated overnight with normal females. Following morning, males demonstrating successful induction of pregnancy were sacrificed on that day to assess sperm parameters and histopathology of reproductive organs. The resulting pregnant females were sacrificed on day 20 of gestation to evaluate pregnancy outcome. As a result, four-week paternal administration with 3-MCPD resulted in adverse effects on male fertility and pregnancy outcome without remarkable histopathological changes in testes and epididymides; sperm motility, copulation index and fertility index were markedly decreased in the treated group and numbers of live fetuses showed steep dose-response curves. Also, spermatogenesis was investigated in this experiment. However, no<br/> effect was observed on production of sperm in testes treated with 3-MCPD for 4 weeks. Hormone assay was performed for observing the effects of 3-MCPD on testosterone and luteinizing hormone (LH) in blood and testes of male SD rats and cultured primary Leydig cell. In result, significant changes of related hormones did not observed by treatment of 3-MCPD. These results indicated that paternal treatment with 3-MCPD induced spermatotoxic effect, which caused an antifertility on male.

      • Solitary subungual neurofibroma misdiagnosed as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans: a case report

        Neurofibroma is a benign nerve-sheath tumor and occurs as a solitary lesion or as a part of neurofibromatosis. Solitary neurofibroma in the subungual area is rare. Only 11 cases have been reported in the literature. A 34-year-old female patient was referred from a local hospital to us for wide surgical excision of a subungual mass. She reported that she had the painless, slowly growing, subungual mass of the right first finger with nail deformity since her childhood. Simple excision was performed at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. The pathologic report from the hospital showed a diagnosis of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with positive staining for CD34. Before making a decision for further surgical treatment, we performed additional immunohistochemical staining. Histopathology showed spindle cell proliferative lesion. Immunohistochemistry was focal positive for CD34, positive for S-100, and negative for EMA, SMA, and ALK. Ki-67 was expressed in 2%. According to these findings, our final diagnosis was subungual neurofibroma. MRI imaging revealed no definite evidence of residual tumor. After 6 months of follow-up, there has been no sign of recurrence. Herein, we report a rare case of solitary subungual neurofibroma initially diagnosed as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. Histopathology and immunohistochemistry are the important keys to rule out other spindle cell tumors and to avoid aggressive surgery for subungual neurofibroma.

        Bioaugmentation Treatment of Mature Landfill Leachate by New Isolated Ammonia Nitrogen and Humic Acid Resistant Microorganism

        The mature landfill leachate, which is characterized by a high concentration of ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and humic acid (HA), poses a challenge to biotreatment methods, due to the constituent toxicity and low biodegradable fraction of the organics. In this study, we applied bioaugmentation technology in landfill leachate degradation by introducing a domesticated NH3-N and HA resistant bacteria strain, which was identified as Bacillus cereus (abbreviated as B. cereus Jlu) and Enterococcus casseliflavus (abbreviated as E. casseliflavus Jlu), respectively. The isolated strains exhibited excellent tolerant ability for NH3-N and HA and they could also greatly improved the COD (chemical oxygen demand), NH3-N and HA removal rate, and efficiency of bioaugmentation degradation of landfill leachate. Only 3 days was required for the domesticated bacteria to remove about 70.0% COD, compared with 9 days`` degradation for the undomesticated (autochthonous) bacteria to obtain a similar removal rate. An orthogonal array was then used to further improve the COD and NH3-N removal rate. Under the optimum condition, the COD removal rate in leachate by using E. casseliflavus Jlu and B. cereus Jlu increased to 86.0% and 90.0%, respectively after, 2 days of degradation. The simultaneous removal of NH3-N and HA with more than 50% and 40% removal rate in leachate by employing the sole screened strain was first observed.

        Facing-target mid-frequency magnetron reactive sputtered hafnium oxide film: Morphology and electrical properties

        Amorphous hafnium dioxide (HfO2) film was prepared on Si (100) by facing-target mid-frequency reactive magnetron sputtering under different oxygen/argon gas ratio at room temperature with high purity Hf target. 3D surface profiler results showed that the deposition rates of HfO2 thin film under different O2/Ar gas ratio remain unchanged, indicating that the facing target midfrequency magnetron sputtering system provides effective approach to eliminate target poisoning phenomenon which is generally occurred in reactive sputtering procedure. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) demonstrated that the gradual reduction of oxygen vacancy concentration and the densification of deposited film structure with the increase of oxygen/argon (O2/Ar) gas flow ratio. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis suggested that the surface of the as-deposited HfO2 thin film tends to be smoother, the root-meansquare roughness (RMS) reduced from 0.876 nm to 0.333 nm while O2/Ar gas flow ratio increased from 1/4 to 1/1. Current-Voltage measurements of MOS capacitor based on Au/HfO2/Si structure indicated that the leakage current density of HfO2 thin films decreased by increasing of oxygen partial pressure, which resulted in the variations of pore size and oxygen vacancy concentration in deposited thin films. Based on the above characterization results the leakage current mechanism for all samples was discussed systematically.

      • Adverse pregnancy outcomes in female patients with alopecia areata: a nationwide population-based study in Korea

        Background: Alopecia areata (AA) is a common hair loss disorder that is characterized by autoimmune attack against the hair follicles. Several autoimmune disorders are associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, but the effects of AA on pregnancy outcomes are not yet discovered. Objectives: To investigate the pregnancy outcomes in female patients with AA Methods: We performed a nationwide, population-based retrospective case-control study using the Korean National Health Insurance claims database from 2011 to 2017. The pregnancy outcomes of 4,552 female patients with AA and 508,345 control subjects were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression models, adjusted by age, comorbidities (autoimmune diseases and metabolic disorders), and obstetric and gynecological diseases. Results: AA patient group showed high frequency of autoimmune diseases and pelvic inflammatory disease, compared to control group. They showed a lower total live birth rate (odds ratio (OR), 0.876; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.820-0.937) and higher rates of all kinds of abortion (OR, 1.145; 95% CI, 1.071-1.225) and ectopic pregnancy (OR, 1.261; 95% CI, 1.112-1.431) after adjustment. Conclusion: AA is associated with an increased risk of abortion, especially ectopic pregnancy. This study may contribute both to the understanding of obstetric comorbidities in AA and to the better management for pregnancy.

      • B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma presenting as an upper arm mass in a child

        B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-LBL) is a rare, aggressive neoplasm occurring predominately in children and adolescents. It can present as primary cutaneous lesion, mostly located on the head. B-LBL is rapidly progressing but potentially curable. A 4-year-old boy presented a painless solitary erythematous mass on the medial side of left upper arm for four months. A firm subcutaneous mass with overlying telangiectasia was observed on physical examination. The lesion was preliminarily diagnosed as hemangioma on ultrasound imaging before visiting our clinic. MRI imaging and skin biopsy were performed for further evaluation. MRI imaging showed a 3.7x2.3x5.2 cm sized subcutaneous mass with T2 intermediate high signal intensity, indicating the possibility of kaposiform hemangioendothelioma or dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. Histopathological examination showed atypical hematolymphoid cells infiltration. Staining for CD79a, PAX-5, and CD43 was positive, while CD3, CD20, and CD34 were negative. Ki-67 was strongly expressed. He was finally diagnosed as B-LBL with no evidence of bone marrow involvement. After one cycle of chemotherapy, complete remission was achieved with significant involution of the skin lesion. Herein we report a rare case of cutaneous B-LBL on the upper arm in a boy. Clinical suspicion and diagnostic workup including skin biopsy are necessary to rule out other benign or malignant tumors.
