The sequential electrodeposition of Pt nanoparticles and CeO2 protective layers has been explored as a simple method to prepare structured catalytic reactors characterized by a core–shell metal-metal oxide active phase directly anchored onto metallic (Fecralloy) 3D open foam substrates. The application of a CeO2 overlayer onto preformed Pt nanoparticles promoted the intrinsic catalytic activity for CO oxidation and induced a remarkable stabilization effect against sintering and extensive reconstruction of the active phase up to 800 °C.

In this article, we report the cloning of an aspartic protease (AP) from flowers of Arctium minus (Hill) Bernh. (Asteraceae) along with the use of depigmented aqueous flower extracts, as a source of APs, for the hydrolysis of whey proteins. The isolated cDNA encoded a protein product with 509 amino acids called arctiumisin, with the characteristic primary structure organization of typical plant APs. Bovine whey protein hydrolysates, obtained employing the enzyme extracts of A. minus flowers, displayed inhibitory angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and antioxidant activities. Hydrolysates after 3 and 5 h of reaction (degree of hydrolysis 2.4 and 5.6, respectively) and the associated peptide fraction with molecular weight below 3 kDa were analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization/time of flight mass spectrometry, and reverse phase-high-performance liquid chromatography. The results obtained in this study demonstrate the viability of using proteases from A. minus to increase the antioxidant and inhibitory ACE capacity of whey proteins.

<P>We proposed a Mo/SiOx/Pt resistive random access memory (RRAM) device as an alternative to static random access memory (SRAM) devices for field-programmable gate array (FPGA) applications. In order to evaluate the feasibility of our RRAM device for FPGA applications, we utilized an RRAM device + inverter structure and confirmed its successful operation under various operational schemes, multilevel operation by controlling bias condition, and immunity against read disturbance and a retention test at high temperature. From the nonvolatile and reliable characteristics of our RRAM device, unlike that of SRAM devices, it holds promise to enable reconfigurable logic applications with significantly reduced logic-gate density and power consumption.</P>
Neuropathologic features of central nervous system hemangioblastoma
Rebecca A. Yoda,Patrick J. Cimino 대한병리학회 2022 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.56 No.3
Hemangioblastoma is a benign, highly vascularized neoplasm of the central nervous system (CNS). This tumor is associated with loss of function of the VHL gene and demonstrates frequent occurrence in von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease. While this entity is designated CNS World Health Organization grade 1, due to its predilection for the cerebellum, brainstem, and spinal cord, it is still an important cause of morbidity and mortality in affected patients. Recognition and accurate diagnosis of hemangioblastoma is essential for the practice of surgical neuropathology. Other CNS neoplasms, including several tumors associated with VHL disease, may present as histologic mimics, making diagnosis challenging. We outline key clinical and radiologic features, pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and prognostic information for hemangioblastoma, and provide a thorough review of the gross, microscopic, immunophenotypic, and molecular features used to guide diagnosis.
