Coherent Absorption Spectroscopy with Supercontinuum for Semiconductor Quantum Well Structure

We suggest that supercontinuum can be used for absorption spectroscopy to observe the exciton levels of a semiconductor nano-structure. Exciton absorption spectrum of a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well was observed using supercontinuum generated by a microstructrured fiber pumped by a femtosecond (fs) pulsed laser. Significantly narrower peaks were observed in the absorption spectrum from 11 K up to room temperature than photoluminescence (PL) spectrum peaks. Because supercontinuum is coherent light and can readily provide high enough intensity, this method can provide a coherent ultra-broad band light source to identify exciton levels in semiconductors, and be applicable to coherent nonlinear spectroscopy such as electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), lasing without inversion (LWI) and coherent photon control in semiconductor quantum structures.

예이츠의 희곡 『캐스린 니 훌리한』이 사람들을 거리로 내몰아 총을 맞게 했든 아니든, 이런 주장을 하거나 자신들의 작품의 영향력에 대해 같은 주장을 하는 사람들의 수에 주목할 만하다. 본고는 동일한 주제로 쓰여 진 일련의 당대 작품의 맥락에서 1916년 부활절봉기에 관한 예이츠의 주요작품들을 검토하여 아일랜드의 혁명기에 글과 칼 사이의 관계를 연구한다. 지금까지 평론에서 소외되었던 작품들은 새로운 맥락을 형성하는데, 이것으로써 부활절봉기 대한 예이츠의 논란이 많은 글들을 재점검한다. 다양한 스타일과 기교로 된 이 글들은, 예이츠 자신의 글에 대한 생각을 엿볼 수 있는, 역사의 물줄기를 바꾼 시의 힘을 보여준 일련의 글의 무리를 형성한다. Whether or not Yeats’s play Cathleen Ni Houlihan sent out certain men the English shot, it is striking to note the number of contemporaries who assert this to be the case or make similar claims about the influence of their own work. This paper will investigate the relationship between pen and sword in Ireland’s revolutionary period by examining Yeats’s canonical writings on the subject of the 1916 Rising in the context of a body of contemporary popular work produced on the same subject. This hitherto critically-neglected body of works forms a fresh context through which to re-examine Yeats’s controversial writings about the insurrection. Varying widely in style and artistry, they coalesce into a body of writing which asserts the power of verse to change the course of history, an idea which informs Yeats’s own writings.
