        Genomic analysis of Sheldrake origin goose hemorrhagic polyomavirus, China

        Goose hemorrhagic polyomavirus (GHPV) is not a naturally occurring infection in geese in China; however, GHPV infection has been identified in Pekin ducks, a domestic duck species. Herein, we investigated the prevalence of GHPV in five domestic duck species (Liancheng white ducks, Putian black ducks, Shan Sheldrake, Shaoxing duck, and Jinyun Sheldrake) in China. We determined that the Jinyun Sheldrake duck species could be infected by GHPV with no clinical signs, whereas no infection was identified in the other four duck species. We sequenced the complete genome of the Jinyun Sheldrake origin GHPV. Genomic data comparison suggested that GHPVs share a conserved genomic structure, regardless of the host (duck or geese) or region (Asia or Europe). Jinyun Sheldrake origin GHPV genomic characterization and epidemiological studies will increase our understanding of potential heterologous reservoirs of GHPV.

        Vehicle Face Recognition Algorithm Based on Weighted Nonnegative Matrix Factorization with Double Regularization Terms

        In order to judge that whether the vehicles in different images which are captured by surveillance cameras represent the same vehicle or not, we proposed a novel vehicle face recognition algorithm based on improved Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF), different from traditional vehicle recognition algorithms, there are fewer effective features in vehicle face image than in whole vehicle image in general, which brings certain difficulty to recognition. The innovations mainly include the following two aspects: 1) we proposed a novel idea that the vehicle type can be determined by a few key regions of the vehicle face such as logo, grille and so on; 2) Through adding weight, sparseness and classification property constraints to the NMF model, we can acquire the effective feature bases that represent the key regions of vehicle face image. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only achieve a high correct recognition rate, but also has a strong robustness to some non-cooperative factors such as illumination variation.

        Optimization and economic analysis of liquefaction processes for offshore units

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The demand to evaluate liquefaction processes applicable to offshore units is increasing with the requirement for offshore platforms. This work investigates both the process efficiency and economic performance of various offshore liquefaction processes. The process schemes include an N<SUB>2</SUB> expander, two types of single mixed refrigerant (SMR), and three different dual mixed refrigerant (DMR) processes. The schemes were simulated with the commercial software Aspen Hysys and optimized to minimize total power consumption as the objective function using a genetic algorithm. Economic and profitability analyses were also conducted for each process to draw a comprehensive economic comparison of the processes. The results show that the SMR process has the lowest total capital cost and payout time, while a DMR presents the best liquefaction efficiency and total annualized cost among the schemes, which are novel outcomes. Therefore, from a long-term economic perspective, the DMR is a good option for long plant operation periods. However, the SMR process shows a net present value 2.17% higher than that of the DMR. In other words, the SMR could be considered as an economical choice for offshore units with short operation period.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Efficiency and economics were investigated for the offshore liquefaction processes. </LI> <LI> A dual cycle process shows the best efficiency and total annualized cost. </LI> <LI> A single cycle process gives the best overall economics for short-term operation. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Economic evaluation of NGL recovery process schemes for lean feed compositions

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The economic analysis of lean feed conditions for natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery is required to meet recent increases in the demand for lean gas reservoirs. This paper compares the economic performance of various NGL recovery schemes with consideration of the LNG HHV specification under various lean feed compositions. The ISS and IPSI schemes are typical processes in NGL recovery, especially in the normal and rich fields, whereas HHC separator and scrub column schemes have advantages for lean feeds. All the schemes were built by HYSYS simulation software and optimized using a genetic algorithm. The profitability analysis indicates that the gross profit and payout time give a similar trend compared to the previous studies. However, the results give different outcomes when considering total annualized cost (TAC), especially in terms of lean feed condition. The results show that scrub column scheme shows the best economic performance compared to other schemes under lean feed compositions.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Comparing representative NGL recovery processes for lean feed compositions. </LI> <LI> The higher heating value and C<SUB>5+</SUB> contents are considered for LNG specification. </LI> <LI> Scrub column scheme shows optimum performance when the feed is considerably lean. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Studies on The Molecular Mechanism of 33 kDa extrinsic Protein in Photosystem II Oxygen-Evolving Complex

        33kDa extrinsic protein, an important protein in oxygenic photosynthesis, was known to have no fixed configuration in solution. At 20$\^{C}$ and pH 6, 33kDa extrinsic protein showed changes of free energy of -14.6 kJ/mor$\^$-1/ and of standard volume of -120mL/mol, respectively, with increase of hydrostatic pressure, comparatively lower than for most proteins. NBS modification of Trp241 in 33kDa extrinsic protein dramatically changes the secondary protein structure, its affinity to photosystem II as well as photosynthetic oxygen evolution. The relationship between structural change and transport of oxygen, water and proton is deserved a further study.

        “Harmonious culture” is the core of Chinese culture and philosophy. The pursuit of the harmony between heaven and the humans, among the humans, between the body and the soul is the fundamental of the Chinese nation, while the idea of “harmony being the supreme” is the highest creed of Chinese civilization.In view of Chinese culture, the essence of harmonious culture lies in the balance or the equilibrium among the opposed things and of its unity and development. Accordingly, it is not only regarded as the principles society follows, but also the ultimate aim of social development.“Harmonious culture” has a profound influence and practical value on the constructing of harmonious enterprises and harmonious society.Harmonious society needs the strong material support of harmonious enterprises development. In return, harmonious society promotes enterprises development in harmony, both of which are complementary to each other.Constructing harmonious enterprises is not only the requirement of building harmonious society, but also the requirement of enterprises sustaining healthy development. An important symbol of enterprises being mature is the constructing of harmonious enterprises.

      • A Security Assessment Framework and Selection Method for Outsourcing Cloud Service

        Cloud services have become state of the art of resource sharing and interoperability among different service providers. The federated cloud seek to reduce costs and maximize efficiency, provide flexible and reliable services composed of various external cloud service and internal services, but this would introduce a risk of security due to outsourcing. For organization which provide an integrity cloud service must rely on SLA to illustrate the capacity of risk and performance, the various providers involved in the federations or services compositions should effectively distribute the organizational responsibilities and SLA. To solve the fears and deal with the threats associated with outsourcing, new method for selection of outsourcing cloud service providers(CSP) based on assessment of security and performance is urgently needed. This paper presents an approach on how to select the proper CSP to guarantee organizational SLA, which quantify the SLA terms and calculate a security weight, the organization can choose the appropriate CSP based on security weight, meanwhile minimize the business cost. This paper make contribution on modeling the capacity of the CSP, considering the business cost and historical performance. The proposed approach is validated through case study that shows selected CSP through our approach can best meet the organizational security and cost needs.

        Investigation on Fabrication and Microstructure of Ti–6Al–4V Alloy Hollow Spheres by Powder Metallurgy

        In this study, the Ti–6Al–4V alloy hollow spheres were prepared by powder metallurgy method under different sinteringtemperatures (1200 °C, 1250 °C, 1300 °C, 1350 °C and 1400 °C). And the density, shrinkage and microstructure of hollowspheres were tested by Archimedes drainage method, diameter measurement, optical microscope and scanning electronmicroscope, respectively. The results show that the density and shrinkage of hollow spheres increase gradually with thesintering temperature increasing, while the porosity of the shell of hollow spheres decreased along with the increase of sinteringtemperature. When the sintering temperature is 1400 °C, the hollow sphere has the largest density of 2.10 g/cm3, thelargest shrinkage of 22.0% and the smallest porosity of 14.2%. By comparing the micro-morphology and properties underdifferent temperatures, when the sintering process lasted for 180 min at 1400 °C, the Ti–6Al–4V hollow spheres have thesmallest porosity and the largest density.

      • Study on the Excited Energy Transfer in Light-harvesting Complex (LH2) of Rhodobacter sphaeroides

        A green mutant of Rhodobacter sphaeroides 60I was acquired by chemical induction. The blue-shifted of the carotenoid absorption was found in the Light-harvesting complex II (LH2) of the mutant. With the excitation at different wavelength, we observed that the evolution of excited-state dynamics in LH2 of Rhodobacter sphaeroides 60I. The dynamical traces demonstrate a dominant absorption followed concomitantly by an ultrafast transmission increase and decay with 818nm excitation.
