Objectives: To identify trends in percentage body fat (PBF) in adolescents to determine gender-specific classification thresholds for being overweight and obese. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 899 adolescents (11 to 14.5 years) from Hanoi and Nam Dinh was conducted in Vietnam. PBF, subcutaneous fat and percentage of lean mass were measured directly using OMRON HBF 375 scales to measure bioelectrical impedance. Results: PBF decreased in boys with increasing age (p < 0.001). The difference in PBF between boys and girls, significantly increased with age after 12.5 years (p < 0.001). There was a stronger correlation between PBF and fat content (Pearson’s r = 0.860, p < 0.0001) than that between (BMI) and fat content (Pearson’s r = 0.521, p < 0.0001). The prevalence of being overweight or obese in girls was similar when determined by PBF or BMI. Hanoi had higher rates of adolescents being overweight or obese compared with Nam Dinh. Conclusion: PBF provides a more accurate body assessment for being overweight or obese in adolescents compared with BMI.

Mouthwash is one of the most commonly oral healthcare products for prevention and treatment of gum diseases. Dr. ECA is a disinfectant solution manufactured by a Vietnamese company and has been licensed for oral healthcare, but its effect on gingivitis is still unclear. To evaluate the effectiveness of this product in the treatment of gingivitis, we conducted a clinical study in 60 students diagnosed with gingivitis to compare the results of gingivitis treatment using Dr. ECA and a control mouthwash (a demonstrated anti-gingivitis product). The data showed that in the treated group, the rate of good Gingivitis Index (GI) before treatment was 46.67%, but after 2 and 4 weeks of using Dr. ECA that rate was increased to 96.67% and 100%, respectively. The percentage of patients with bleeding on probing was 63.33% but declined sharply after 2 weeks of treatment to 6.67%, and further reduced to 3.33% after 4 weeks of treatment. The treatment outcomes in were similar in the Dr. ECA treated group and control one with no statistically significant difference. Our results suggest that the electrolyte saline solution Dr. ECA is effective in treating gingivitis. Its effects are similar to other mouthwash products that had been approved and marketed.

Employability has recently become the first target of the national higher education. Its model has been updated to catch the new trend of Industry 4.0. This paper aims at analyzing and ranking the determinants of undergraduate employability, focusing on business and economics majors in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In-depth interviews with content analysis have been primarily conducted to reach an agreement on a key group of factors: human capital, social capital, and identity. The Stochastic Fractal Search Algorithm (SFSA) is then applied to rank the sub-factors. Human capital is composed of three major elements: attitude, skill, and knowledge. Social capital is approached at both structural and cognitive aspects with three typical types: bonding, bridging, and linking. The analysis has confirmed the change of priority in employability determinants. Human capital is still a driver but the priority of attitude has been confirmed in the contemporary context. Then, social capital with the important order of linking, bridging, and bonding is emphasized. Skill, knowledge, and identity share the least weight in the model. It is noted that identity is newly proposed in the model but a certain role has been found. The findings are crucial for education strategies to enhance university graduate employability.

The HLA B*58:01 allele has been worldwide reported as a pharmacogenetic susceptibility to allopurinol-induced severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs). To prevent these life-threatening conditions, the American College of Rheumatology hingly recommended that the HLA-B*58:01 be screened prior to the initiation of allopurinol therapy. Therefore, we developed a rapid, robust, inexpensive screening method using SYBR® Green real time PCR to detect the HLA-B*58:01 allele. A total of 119 samples were tested. The assay has a sensitivity of 100% (95% CI: 69.15%-100%), a specificity of 100% (95% CI: 96.67%-100%), a positive predictive value of 100% (95% CI: 69.15%-100%) and a negative predictive value of 100% (95% CI: 96.67%-100%). HLA-B*58:01 genotyping results showed 100% agreement with those obtained from Luminex SSO/SBT/SSP. The lowest limit of detection of this method is 0.8 ng/μL of DNA. The unit cost of the test is only $3.8 USD. This novel screening test using SYBR® real time PCR would be appropriate to identify individuals with the HLA-B*58:01 allele for the prevention of allopurinol-induced SCARs.

This research attempted to determine the important factors influencing on effective leadership. To understand the vital role of leadership in business for improving performance and productivity in business, the aim of this article was to investigate some critical factors to become a good leader in terms of students. This research applied quantitative approach to validate the hypothesis. I gather information from 200 students range from 18-22 years old by questionnaire in the University of Finance - Marketing on Pho Quang Street, Tan Binh District. It was concluded the factors that strongly affected on the successes of a good leader. Not only factors that we can see obviously, besides that, through some main factors directly affected on the features of a good leader like trust, motivation, learning and learning, organizational culture, teamwork and communicational skills. The limitation of this research relates to the small size of sampling, inadequate literature review and lack of considering environmental impact on individuals. The future research will attempt to gather more literature review and enlarge the sample size, while trying to analyze based on practical evidence.
Subacute thyroiditis after receiving the vaccine for COVID-19: a case report and literature review
Thanh Binh Vu,Dinh Toi Chu,Dinh Tuan Le,Thi Thuy Dieu Hoang,Philippe Gautret,Van Thuan Hoang 대한백신학회 2022 Clinical and Experimental Vaccine Research Vol.11 No.2
A 38-year-old female patient, with healthy history, was vaccinated with ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 (Astra Zeneca Cambridge, UK). Five days after the second injection, the patient presented headache, vertigo, then fatigue, nervousness, palpitations, shortness of breath, small amplitude tremors, and sweating episodes. Laboratory investigation revealed a suppressed thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), with elevated free thyroxine. However, the TSH receptor antibody and anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody were normal and thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin negative. The patient was maintained on Metoprolol, and no specific treatment was added. After 3 months of following, the patient now feels comfortable. Our literature review found that 21 cases of subacute thyroiditis (SAT) following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines were reported. Most patients were young women who presented neck pain and systemic symptoms, with or without fever. These symptoms can appear as early (3 to 5 days), or later (1 month) after vaccination, regardless of vaccine type and mechanism of action. Laboratory tests showed decreased levels of TSH and elevated thyroid hormone. The mechanism of this event remains unknown. Further study is recommended to investigate the possible predisposing factors to developing SAT after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

<P>In spite of the technical importance of detecting environmental SO<I>x</I> and NO<I>x</I> gases, a selective detection has not been realized because of their similar chemical properties. In this report, adsorption and desorption of SO2 and NO2 gas on carbon nanotubes are investigated in terms of different humidity levels at room temperature. A random-network single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) resistor is constructed by a dip-pen method using a SWCNT/dichloroethane (DCE) solution. In the case of SO2 gas adsorption, the resistance increases at high humidity level (92%) and shows no obvious change at low humidity levels. On the other hand, in the case of NO2 gas adsorption, the resistance always decreases independent of moisture levels. Our density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that this selective behavior originates from cooperative charge compensation between the SO2–<I>n</I>H2O complex and the p-type CNT resistor. The change of response time and recovery time with different moisture levels is further investigated. This humidity-assisted gas reaction provides a simple route to detect these two gases selectively.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Selective detection of SO2 and NO2 gas has been successfully realized on carbon nanotubes by introducing humidity in this study. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c0jm03227a'> </P>

Here, we report a simple method to enhance the wettability of metal particles on the CNT surface by applying aluminum, which is the material with the largest surface tension. This method involves two steps: (i) Al nanoparticles are decorated on multiwalled carbon nanotubes by electroplating and (ii) Al powder is further spread on Al-electroplated CNTs, followed by high-temperature annealing to accommodate complete wetting of the aluminum. The large surface tension difference is overcome by forming strong AlC covalent bonds initiated by defects of the CNTs. The decrease in the D-band intensity, the G-band shift in the Raman spectroscopy and the formation of AlC covalent bonds, as confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, were in agreement with our structural model of CNTvacancyOAl determined by density functional calculations.</P>

Bae, Jung Jun,Lim, Seong Chu,Han, Gang Hee,Jo, Young Woo,Doung, Dinh Loc,Kim, Eun Sung,Chae, Seung Jin,Huy, Ta Quang,Van Luan, Nguyen,Lee, Young Hee WILEY‐VCH Verlag 2012 Advanced functional materials Vol.22 No.22
<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>In spite of recent successful demonstrations of flexible and transparent graphene heaters, the underlying heat‐transfer mechanism is not understood due to the complexity of the heating system. Here, graphene/glass defoggers are fabricated and the dynamic response of the temperature as a function of input electrical power is measured. The graphene/glass defoggers reveal shorter response times than Cr/glass defoggers. Furthermore, the saturated temperature of the graphene/glass defoggers is higher than for Cr/glass defoggers at a given input electrical power. The observed dynamic response to temperature is well‐fitted to the power‐balance model. The response time of graphene/glass defogger is shorter by 44% than that of the Cr/glass defogger. The convective heat‐transfer coefficient of graphene is 12.4 × 10−4 W cm−2 °C−1, similar to that of glass (11.1 × 10−4 W cm−2 °C−1) but smaller than that of chromium (17.1 × 10−4 W cm−2 °C−1). The graphene‐based system reveals the lowest convective heat‐transfer coefficient due to its ideal flat surface compared to its counterparts of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO)‐based systems.</P>
Effect of boattail angle on near-wake flow and drag of axisymmetric models: a numerical approach
The Hung Tran,Hoang Quan Dinh,Hoang Quan Chu,Van Quang Duong,Chung Pham,Van Minh Do 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.2
Flow behavior around axisymmetric boattail surface was studied by numerical methods. A wide range of boattail angles from 0° to 24° was investigated to find the drag trend of the model. Numerical simulation was validated by experimental results with the same flow conditions. Results showed that the use of boattail model always has a positive effect on drag reduction. Total drag showed minimum value at boattail model of around 14°. Length of the recirculation after body decreases with increasing boattail angle up to 14° and then becomes constant at higher angle. The trend of boattail pressure drag showed similar to previous studies for high-speed flow. However, base drag showed different trend to previous observation. The base drag showed to be the most important parameter to determine drag trend of the model. The effect of flow fields around boattail on pressure distribution and drag is discussed in detail.
