Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a rare cartilaginous neoplasm of an extraskeletal origin, and this predominately occurs in the head and neck, and also in the lower extremities. Fewer than twenty cases of cardiac mesenchymal chondrosarcoma have so far been reported on. For the most part, the results of treatment for patients with this condition have been dismal. In this study, we describe a case of cardiac mesenchymal chondrosarcoma that responded to chemotherapy following surgical biopsy. A 46-year-old man was referred for evaluation of his pleural effusions in both lungs. Chest computed tomography revealed an ovoid-shaped mass in the posterior wall of the patient’s left atrium. The echocardiogram revealed a large ovoid-shaped immobile mass (11×6 cm2) in the pericardiac space, which was attached tothe posterior wall of the left atrium. Emergency pericardiostomy with closure thoracostomy was performed. Seven days later, a thoracotomy was performed for reduction and diagnosis of the cardiac mass. The pathological diagnosis was extraskeletal mesenchymal chondrosarcoma of the heart.. Postoperative chemotherapy was performed for the huge remaining mass with a combined regimen of etoposide, ifosfamide and cisplatin. After 6 cycles, the patient showed a partial response without symptoms. Although cardiac mesenchymal chondrosarcoma has been reported to be chemotherapy- resistant with a short survival duration, chemotherapy may prove to be an effective treatment modality. Water utilities in response to the challenges of extreme drought, should face the New thinking that the difference between the price of water upon request, considering distinguish the dry season and the rainy season in different water, and the water does not hike the basic livelihood of the people; to consider the idea of building “Our sponge cities sponge Taiwan”; avoid low tariff wasted water, or the use of reasonable price adjustments after yearly, water problems can be solved in Taipei area; contributed to the dry season to strengthen water conservation and carbon reduction to achieve the effect or open consumptive water use of large household[2] and strengthen told: the key to sustainable development of water resources, “NO WATER NO FUTURE”.

Symptomatic gastro-intestinal metastasis in lung cancer is extremely rare and only a few case reports have been published. Here, we report a case with lung adenocarcinoma that presented with acute abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting due to duodenum, jejunum, and colon obstruction by the gastro-intestinal metastasis. The patient underwent colonoscopy and the pathologic report was adenocarcinoma. When there are similar histologic findings in both colon and pulmonary lesion, the question is whether both lesions are primary cancer or the colon lesions are metastases from lung cancer. Microscopic examination of a conventional pathologic section was not sufficient to make this determination. Immunohistochemistry was positive for thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) and cytokeratin 7 (CK7), and negative for cytokeratin 20 (CK20) and caudal-related homeobox transcription factor-2 (CDX-2) on colon mucosa specimen. Accordingly, we used immunohistochemical marker for differential diagnosis of primary adenocarcinoma of the lung with gastro-intestinal metastasis. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2012;59:382-385)

동측신장에서 발생한 신세포암종과 이행세포암종은 드문 경우이다. 본 증례는 49세 남자가 좌측 옆구리 통증을 주소로 내원하여 복부단층촬영사진상 좌측신장에 조영이 되는 종괴가 보여 좌측신장 적출술을 시행하였으며 병리학 소견에서 집합관세포암종과 이행세포암종이 동시에 발견되었다. 이 증례에서 동시성 동측신장에서 발생한 집합관세포암종과 이행세포암종이 집합관세포암종 단일존재 했을 때보다 더욱 불량한 경과를 관찰하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The coexistence of synchronous ipsilateral primary cancer in the genitourinary system has only rarely been described in the literature. We present the case of a 49-year-old man with left flank pain as an initial presentation. An abdominal CT study showed a mildly enhancing lesion at the left renal mid-pole posterior aspect. A left radical nephrectomy was performed. The pathological diagnosis was a collecting duct carcinoma (CDC) and a papillary transitional cell carcinoma (TCC). Repair and regeneration of vascular tissue is a crucial current research focus in the fields of biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine. Numerous studies revealed that cells are required to grow on an appropriate extracellular matrix to maintain or enhance functionality. In the present study, various surface modification methods were evaluated to fix fibronectin on the surface of a bio-based and aligned poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) film for vascular tissue engineering. After chemical modification, the properties of the fibronectin-fixed PHBV films were examined and compared with the original films, including -NH2 group expression, contact angle, mechanical properties, and fibronectin binding amount. Then, cytotoxicity and biocompatibility were measured by culture with L929 cells and endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) of the fibronectinfixed PHBV films. In addition, cell morphology, cell growth kinetics, acetylated low-density lipoprotein uptake ability, lectin binding ability and specific gene expressions of cultured EPCs on fibronectin-fixed PHBV films were also analyzed. Taken together, our data demonstrated that the surface of the aligned PHBV films could be successfully modified to immobilize fibronectin. Importantly, EPCs cultured on the fibronectin-fixed PHBV films showed excellent cell biocompatibility, a rapid proliferation rate, an aligned growth direction and correct cell functions. We believed that fibronectin-fixed PHBV films can serve as a potential scaffold for vascular tissue engineering.
혼합 코풀라 모형을 사용한 주식시장 내 기관투자가의 극단적 수익률 및 거래량 종속성 연구

혼합 코풀라 모형은 대만 주식시장에서 외국계 기관투자가, 뮤추얼펀드 및 딜러의 극단수익률과 주식거래회전율 간의 관계를 연구하기 위해 사용되었다. 본 연구에서 는 극단적인 투자손실이 발생한 상황에서의 거래증가량을 연구하기 위한 변환된 함 수가 기재되었다. 실증결과 딜러는 극심한 손실 혹은 극심한 이익이 발생한 기간 모 두에서 가장 높은 거래량 증가를 나타내고 있다. 외국계 기관투자가와 비교했을 때, 뮤추얼펀드는 이익이 극대화되는 기간에 높은 거래량 증가 상태를 보였다. 이와 반 대로 뮤추얼펀드 비교했을 때 외국계 기관투자가는 극심한 투자손실이 발생되는 경 우에 높은 거래량 증가를 보였다. 극심한 주식수익률은 거래증가량에 비대칭적인 영 향을 끼치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Mixture copula models are used to study the relationships of extreme return and stock turnover rates of the foreign institutional investors, mutual funds and dealers in Taiwan. A transformation function is introduced in this paper to study the trading volume increment during extreme negative return condition. The results show that dealer has the highest trading volume increases both during extreme positive return and negative return periods. Comparing with foreign institutional investor, mutual fund has the higher trading increase during extreme positive return period. Comparing with mutual fund, foreign institutional investor has higher trading increase during extreme negative return period. The extreme stock market return has asymmetric impacts on the trading volume increment.

In this study, we examined the influence of using hetero-gate dielectrics (HGDs) on the short-channel effects (SCEs) in scaled tunnel field-effect transistors (TFETs). For bulk TFETs, the short-channel performance is not influenced by the HGD engineering because the SCEs are caused by the tunneling at the region with negligible gate control. However, the use of the HGD increases the SCEs in double-gate TFETs because the HGD reduces the gate control on the channel. When the HGD optimized in term of on-current is used, the channel of HGD-TFETs is about 10-nm longer than that of uniform-gate dielectric TFETs to obtain similar SCEs. The SCEs in HGD-TFETs can be improved by locating the drain-side heterojunction toward the drain and/or increasing the ratio of lowand high-k equivalent oxide thicknesses. Due to the trend of scaling transistors, an appropriate design of HGD to minimize the SCEs in scaled HGD-TFETs is also crucial.
A Conference Key Distribution Scheme Using Interpolating Polynomials

Conference keys are secret keys used by a group of users commonly and with which they can encipher (or decipher) messages such that communications are secure. Based on the Diffie and Hellman’s PKDS, a conference key distribution scheme is presented in this paper. A sealed lock is used to lock the conference key in such a way that only the private keys of the invited members are matched. Then the sealed lock is thus made public or distributed to all the users, only legitimate users can disclose it and obtain the conference key. In our scheme, the construction of a sealed lock is simple and the revelation of a conference key is efficient
