        Extended use of Prostate Health Index and percentage of [-2]pro-prostate-specific antigen in Chinese men with prostate specific antigen 10–20 ng/mL and normal digital rectal examination

        Purpose: We investigated the extended use of Prostate Health Index (PHI) and percentage of [-2]pro-prostate-specific antigen (%p2PSA) in Chinese men with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) 10–20 ng/mL and normal digital rectal examination (DRE). Materials and Methods: All consecutive Chinese men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE who agreed for transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided 10-core prostate biopsy were recruited. Blood samples were taken immediately before TRUS-guided prostate biopsy. The performances of total PSA (tPSA), %free-to-total PSA (%fPSA), %p2PSA, and PHI were compared using logistic regression, receiver operating characteristic, and decision curve analyses (DCA). Results: From 2008 to 2015, 312 consecutive Chinese men were included. Among them, 53 out of 312 (17.0%) men were diagnosed to have prostate cancer on biopsy. The proportions of men with positive biopsies were 6.7% in PHI<35, 22.8% in PHI 35–55, and 54.5% in PHI>55 (chi-square test, p<0.001). The area under curves (AUC) of the base model including age, tPSA and status of initial/repeated biopsy was 0.64. Adding %p2PSA and PHI to the base model improved the AUC to 0.79 (p<0.001) and 0.78 (p<0.001), respectively, and provided net clinical benefit in DCA. The positive biopsy rates of Gleason 7 or above prostate cancers were 2.2% for PHI<35, 7.9% for PHI 35–55, and 36.4% for PHI>55 (chi-square test, p<0.001). By utilizing the PHI cutoff of 35 to men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE, 57.1% (178 of 312) biopsies could be avoided. Conclusions: Both PHI and %p2PSA performed well in predicting prostate cancer and high grade prostate cancer. The use of PHI and %p2PSA should be extended to Chinese men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE.

        A measure for good products manufactured by grinding process is the surface roughness that is affected by a lot of operating parameters such as types of abrasive, grain size, bond material, wheel speed, table speed, depth of cut, hardness of workpiece and stiffness of grinding machine. In this study, an application of the design of experiments was tried for evaluating the effect of operating parameters on the surface roughness. The workpiece was a high speed tool steel(SKH5I) and the surface grinding was conducted. In order to obtain the best surface roughness within constraints of the working range, the optimal grinding conditions were selected. The usefulness of this method was evaluated by the statistical strategy.

        연삭력을 이용한 공작물의 형상오차 예측

        Because a generated heat h g grinding operation makes a serious deformation on a ground surface as a convex form, a real depth of cut in deformed zone has larger than an ideal depth of cut. Consequently, the ground surface has a geometric error as a concave form after cooling the workpiece. In this study, the force and the geometric error of surface grinding were examined. From evaluating magnitude and mode of the geometric error according to grinding conditions, an optimal grinding condition was proposed to minimize the geometric error. In addition, the relationship between the geometric error and the grinding force was found out. Due to least square regression, it was able to predict the geometric error by using the grinding force.

        This paper deals with the evaluation of geometric error and the optimization of process parameters in surface grinding. Taguchi method which is one of the design of experiments has been introduced in achieving the aims. The process parameters were the grain size, the wheel speed, the depth of cut and the table speed. The effect of the process parameters on the geometric error was examined and an optimal set of the parameters was selected to minimize the geometric error within the controllable range of the used grinding machine. The reliablity of the results was evaluated by the ANOVA.

        실험계획법을 이용한 연삭가공물의 형상오차 분석

        Various controllable parameters of an experiment have influence on grinding process. In order to get good products with a high quality, these parameters should be considered whether each parameter has relations to the quality. This paper describes the use of the design of experiments to minimize geometric error in surface grinding. Controllable parameters for the design of experiments were selected as spindle speed, table speed, depth of cut and grain size. From the experimental results, a degree of influence between these parameters and the geometric error was evaluated. An optimal set of grinding conditions was obtained by means of analysis of variance(ANOVA).

        Tuberculosis of duodenum is so rare and is usually secondary to pulmonary or intestinal tuberculosis . It is difficult to diagnose duodenal tuberculosis in clinical and radiologic findings due to its non-specific symptoms and inconsistent lesion. The diagnosis was made on the basis of the histological study of the endoscopic biopsy and resected surgical specimen. so we report a case of tuberculosis of duodenal bulb and of ascending colon with, the brief review of the literatures.

        Structural health monitoring system should developed to be based on internet and database technology in order to manage efficiently large structures. This system is operated by internet connected with the side of structures. The monitoring system has some functions: self monitoring, self diagnosis, and self control etc. Self monitoring is the function of sensor fault detection. If some sensors are not normally worked, then this system can detect the fault sensors. Also Self diagnosis function repair the abnormal condition of sensors. And self control is the repair function of the monitoring system. Especially, the monitoring system can identify the replacement of sensors. For further study, the real application test will be performed to check some unconvinrences.

        In this paper, we proposed a new technique of continuous image zooming interpolation using Chebyshev points. There are so many different zooming techniques, but those may be classified with two categories, Discrete to Discrete and Discrete to Continuous. Our proposed technique belongs to Discrete to Continuous category and it can solve drawbacks of existing techniques such as jaggies, degradations integer times of magnification and etc.

        This paper deals with the design of an adaptive linear-quadratic Gaussian controller to achieve regulation and tracking for non-minimum phase systems represented by a discrete single input-output stochastic state equation including white noise with a Gaussian distribution function. The parallel adaptive structure proposed by Landau has been adopted and an identification algorithm is used to obtain an unbiased estimation of the parameters. Applicability of an adaptive linear-quadratic Gaussian controller and the influence of each of the constants needed in the adaptation algorithm have been investigated. It is shown that the adaptive linear-quadratic Gaussian controller can achieve the fast adaptive control, when the system has the reference signal with a short period and abruptly varing parameters. With respect to white noise, this paper can be considered an extents of adaptive linear-quadratic controller proposed by Samson.

        Diamond has outstanding thermal properties that make it the material of choice for heat spreading applications in microelectronic devices. In order to asses thermal properties of diamond films grown by microwave plasma CVD method. we have applied an ac thermal conductivity measurement technique where films are thermally excited at frequency ω while the thermal response is measured at the third harmonic via a lock-in amplifier. This method is insensitive to errors due thermal noise. Before the application to diamond. the measurement technique was tested on fused silica and sapphire. The results were in good agreement with published values. The thermal conductivity of CVD diamond films were measured to be around 3 W/cm·K.
