Objetives : In order to provide useful data tbr the further clinical studies with Korean alcohol-dependent patients, enrollment and non-relapse rates were investigated while alcohol-dependent patients wcre followed up for 24 weeks. Methods : The subjects of this study were alcohol-dependent male patients who, for the first time, visited a hospital among 3 groups of hospitals, University Hospital, General Hospital or Mental Hospital, or those who needed to be followed up after discharge from those hospitals. After assigning 12 subjects to each hospital, we investigated enrollment and non-relapse rates while cognitive-behavioral therapy and pharmacotherapy were provided. Results : 1) Forty-eight patients were enrolled and the rate of enrollment was 36.4%. The enrollment rate in the University Hospital group was 52.1%, in the General Hospital group 50.0%. and in the Mental Hospital group 10.4%. 2) In 48 patients, non-relapse rate was 27.1% at 12 week and 18.8% at 24 weeks after starting follow-up. It was 24.4% and 20.0% at 12 and 24 weeks, repectively, in the University Hospital group while the General Hospital group showed 33.3% and 16.7%, respectively, and the Mental Hospital Group showed 20.0% at both 12 and 24 weeks. Conclusion : These results provide important data for further clinical studies of Korean alcohol-dependent patients.

A thin film Pt-RTD(resistance temperature device) was fabricated by using DC magnetron sputtering and laser patterning. A study was fulfilled to adjust the TCR(temperature coefficient of resistance) to 3850 ppm/℃ which is IEC751 standard and the influence of oxygen addition(0 ~ 20 %) on TCR was measured. The resistance of Pt-RTD was set to 1000 Q at 0 ℃ using laser patterning and trimming. The analyses of XRD and AES were used to characterise the platinum thin film. The TCR of Pt-RTD was measured by a high precision oil bath. When the addition of oxygen flow rate was 1 %, TCR was 3850 ppm/℃.
무채색 영역과 유사색모집단을 이용한 주변 광원의 분광방사 추정

본 논문은 채널로 입력된 영상으로부터 광원의 분광 방사 에너지 분포를 추정 할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 광원은 표면 반사(O(λ))에 대응하는 최대 무채색 영역(L(λ))의 반사되는 분광 방사 에너지 분포에 의해 추정된다. 3채널 영상으로부터 최대 무채색 영역의 분광 방사 에너지 분포를 획득하기 위하여 수정된 Gray-world assmption 알고리즘을 채택했다. 그리고 최대 표면 반사는 무채색 모집단으로 주성분 분석 방법을 사용해서 추정을 하였다. 무채색 모집단은 먼셀 컬러 색표에서 문턱값 보다 낮은 크로마 벡터를 사용해서 만들었다. 분리된 무채색 모집단의 제1에서 제3차까지의 누적 기여율은 약 99.75%이다. 무채색 모집단에 의해 광원의 분광 방사 에너지 분포의 재구성 그리고 여러 가지 광원 하에서 획득된 3채널 영상은 원본과 재현된 광원의 분광방사 에너지 분포를 RMSE에 의해 평가하고 실험 하였다.

고압연소소결법으로 TiC 섬유강화 금속 Ti 매트릭스와 Al2O3 매트릭스의 치밀 복합체를 제조하였다. 합성된 시편의 미세구조 관찰 결과 복합체는 대부분의 탄소섬유가 배향된 상태로 잘 분산되어 있었다. 합성된 TiC 치밀체는 반응시간이 증가할수록 첨가된 Ti의 몰 비가 증가할수록 밀도가 증가하였다. 섬유표면에 코팅되어 있는 사이징제를 제거한 섬유를 사용하였을 경우 탄소섬유와 매트릭스 사이에 존재하는 미세기공을 제거할 수 있었다. Dense composites of titanium matrix and A1203 matrix reinforced with fibrous Tic were successfully fabricated by combustion reaction under 30 MPa of uniaxial pressure with an aid of external heating in vacuum. Microstructural analyses by SEM showed that the fibers were found uniformly distributed, well-defind and aligned in the matrix. As a mole ratio of Ti/C or external heating time increased, the density of TiC composite increased. In case of using carbon fibers, from which the sizing agent was removed. micro pores around fibers disappeared.

Blunt or nonpenetrating chest injuries are common after motor vehicle accidents or falls. Blunt injury to the heart ranges from contusion to rupture. Cardiac rupture, however, is un-common and associated with a very high mortality rate ; left ventricular rupture due to falling is even more rare. We experienced a case of left ventricular rupture of the heart caused by a fall, which the patient survived. A 63-year-old man fell off a ladder and presented with hypotension from left hemothorax and pericardial tamponade. The hemothorax was relieved via an emergency closed thoracostomy but dyspnea and hypotension continued. And so, echocardio-graphy was done and pericardial tamponade was detected. Emergency left thoracotomy was done to repair the rupture site. We believe that patients with cardiac rupture who reach the hospital alive can often be saved by prompt diagnosis and immediate surgical treatment.
Weight Training이 身體構成과 筋力에 미치는 效果

The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of 12 weeks weight training on Body composition and Strength. The healthy male in che ju are randomly selected as subjects. The procedure of this experiment are as follows. 20 subjects are divided into two groups : G - 1 (High load - 10 Reps) , G - 2 (Low load - 20 Reps). All two groups trained for 12 weeks: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. During each workout following lifts are used : Bench press, Leg press, Barbell curl. Lat pull-down, Standimg press, Triceps extension, Dumbbell fly and Sit-up. The conclusion were as follows: 1. Changes of physique of before and after training. Body weight, chest girth, bicep girth did not increase significantly in G - 2 but Body weight (3.4 %) , chest girth (3. 0%) , bicep girth (2. 4%) and thigh girth (2. 7%) increased significantly (P < 0.05) in G - 1. 2. Changes of body composition of before and after training. % Fat and Fat weight did not decrease significantiy in both groups. Lean body mass did not increase significantiy in G-2, but increased (4.2%) significantly (P < 0.05) in G - 1. 3. Changes of muscular strength of before and after training. Hand grip (left, right), back muscle strength, bench press and lgg press incresd(P <0.001) significantly in both groups. but high load group (G - 1) slightly more incresed than in low load group (G-2).
볼트 접합된 반강접 보-기둥 죠인트에 대한 Component Method의 적용

Beam-to-column joint transfer reactions from the beam to the column. When subjected to shear forces and in-plane bending moment, they deform, particularly in rotation. In other words, the primary distortion of a steel beam-to-column joint is its rotational deformation (θ), caused by the in-plane bending moment (M). Therefore, the joint behavior is substantially represented through M-θ, which is the most important input data for the analysis and design of semi-rigid frames. The study of the M-θ behavior of steel beam-to-column joints has increased dramatically. Several approaches to create nonlinear M-θ curves for various connection types have been used. In fact, even though simplified methods have been already developed for evaluating the rotational behavior of connections with angles, these models refer only to the behavior of the connection rather than to the joint as a whole, excluding the significant influence of the column components. The case of bolted connections with angles becomes even more complex than others. In this paper, a mechanical model to predict their M-θ curve is presented. To achieve this goal, the component method described in Annex J of Eurocode 3 (CEN, 1997) is used. Also, in order to verify the reliability of the component method, experimental test on bolted semi-rigid beam-to-column connection was conducted.
측두하악관절 내장증에서의 관절원판의 형태 및 골 변화에 관한 연구

Purpose : To investigate bone and disc configuration on MR images in internal derangement related to age. Materials and methods : MR images of 150 TMJs in 107 patients were analyzed to determine the morphologic changes. Two groups were distinguished to be correlated with age. Group 1 consisted of TMJs that were diagnosed as having anterior disc displacement with reduction (ADDwR), and Group 2 consisted of TMJs that were diagnosed as having anterior disc displacement without reduction (ADDwoR). We assessed the configuration of the articular disc, degree of anterior disc displacement, and osseous changes of TMJs. Results : The third decade (83 of 150 joints) was most frequent in this study. In the ADDwR group biconcave discs was most frequent at all ages except fifth decade, but in the ADDwoR group deformed discs was most frequent at third and forth decades. In the ADDwR group slightly displaced discs was most frequent at all ages, but in the ADDwoR group severely displaced discs was most frequent at second decade, and the degree of disc displacement was increased with aging over 30 years of age. TM joints showed osseous changes in 17% of the ADDwR group, and in 30% of the ADDwoR group. MR findings of osseous changes of the TMJ were not found to be significantly correlated with age. Conclusion : The prevalence of deformation of disc, displacement of disc, and osseous changes of TMJ was higher in the ADDwoR group than in the ADDwR group. MR findings of disc configuration and degree of disc displacement were found to be correlated with age.(Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2001;31:9-16)
수종의 엔진구동형 Nickel-Titanium file을 이용한 근관형성 방법이 근관만곡도 유지능력에 미치는 영향

There are increasing usage of Nickel-Titanium rotary files in modern clinical endodontic treatment because it is effective and fater than hand filing due to reduced step. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of canal preparations using 3 different rotary Nickel-Titanium files that has different cross sectional shape and taper on the maintenance of canal curvature. Simulated resin block were instrumented with Profile(Dentsply, USA), GT rotary files(Dentsply, USA), Hero 642(Micro-Mega, France), and Pro-Taper(Dentsply, USA). The image of Pre-instrumentation and Post-instrumentation were acquired using digital camera and overspreaded in the computer. Then the total differences of canal diameter, deviation at the outer portion of curvature, deviation at the inner portion of curvature, movement of center of the canal and the centering ratio at the pre-determined level from the apex were measured. Results were statistically analyzed by means of ANOVA, followed by Scheffe test at a significance level of 0.05. The results were as follows; 1. Deviation at the outer portion of curvature, deviation at the inner portion of curvature were showed largest in Pro-Taper, so also did in the total differences of canal diameter(p<0.05). 2. All the groups showed movements of center. Profile combined with GT rotary files and Hero 642 has no difference but Pro-Taper showed the most deviation(p<0.05). 3. At the 1, 2, 3mm level from the apex movements of center directed toward the outer portion of curvature, but in 4, 5 mm level directed toward the inner portion of curvature(p<0.05). As a results of this study, it could be concluded that combined use of other Nickel-Titanium rotary files is strongly recommended when use Pro-Taper file because it could be remove too much canal structure and also made more deviation of canal curvature than others.
초기 진동 특성치가 측정되지 않은 캔틸레버 보의 손상 추정 방법에 관한 연구

Most civil engineering structures are apt to experience structural damages over their service lives caused by adverse loadings. Accumulation of structural damages over a long period time might cause catastrophic structural failure. Therefore, maintenance and retrofitting of existing structures is essential for assuring the safety of the existing structures. The damage detection algorithm must be exact and reliable. There have recently been attempts to evaluate the structural damage utilizing the experimentally measured response data. But the baseline modal responses were required to evaluate the structural damage. The purpose of this paper is to present the damage detection algorithm for structures without baseline modal responses. Natural frequencies of a structure with a transverse surface crack extending uniformly along the width is measured experimentally. Using only the natural frequencies of a damaged structure, it has been found that the location and degree of damage are reasonably determined. The damage detection algorithm was applied to identify a crack in a cantilever beam.
