        Holographic interferometry를 이용한 열중합 애크릴릭 레진의 변형에 관한 연구

        Since heat curing acrylic resins undergo unavoidable dimensional changes following polymerization, adaptation can be altered. Until recently, although numerous studies on the dimensional changes of denture base were based on a microscopic technic that measures the relative displacement of a limited reference points on the denture base, but there have been few studies on the distortions of resins using holographic interferometry. Purpose of this study was to determine and compare the dimensional changes and fringe patterns of 4 heat curing acrylic resins, and observe the distortions of acrylic resin denture base by temperature change with the aid of the holographic interferometry. Holographic interferograms were taken on the resin specimens and acrylic resin denture base with the 10mW He-Ne laser and double exposure method. Comparison and analysis of fringe pattern on the recorded object surface was performed. The following results were obtained. 1. The dimensional changes for the high impact resin Lucitone 199 were statistically the greatest of all resins, and the rapid heat curing resin Premium super 20 were the least. 2. The most polymerization shrinkage of all materials occured in initial period of measurements, at this time the difference of polymerization shrinkage properties between resins was founded. 3. The stress distribution of specimens was seen by various type of fringe pattern which had directionality. 4. The polymerization shrinkage of resins was greatly influenced by temperature change. 5. The partial deformations of resin denture base were observed in 70 C and 90 C water.

        만성 두부외상 환자에서 99mTc - HMPAO Brain SPECT의 임상적 유용성

        N/A Minima1 deterioration of cerebral perfusion or microanatomical changes were undetectable on conventional Brain CT or MRI. So evaluation of focal functional changes of the brain parenchyme is essential in chronic head injury patients, who did not show focal anatomical changes on these radiological studies. However, the patients who had longstanding neurologic sequelae following head injury, there had been no available imaging modalities for evaluating these patients precisely. Therefore we tried to detect the focal functional changes on the brain parenchyme using Tc-99m-HMPAO Brain SPECT on the patients of chronic head injuries. Twenty three patients who had suffered from headache, memory dysfunction, personality change and insomnia lasting more than six months following head injury were included in our cases, which showed no anatomical abnormalities on Brain CT or MRI. At first they underwent psychological test whether the symptoms were organic or not. Also we were able to evaluate the cerebral perfusion changes with Tc-99m-HMPAO Brain SPECT in 22 patients among the 23, which five patients were focal and 17 patients were nonfocally diffuse perfusion changes. Thus we can predict the perfusion changes such as local vascular deterioration or functional defects using Tc-99m-HMPAO Brain SPECT in the patients who had suffered from post-traumatic sequelae, which changes were undetectable on Brain CT or MRI.

        COLOR STABILITY OF CURRENT PROSTHETIC COMPOSITES UNDER ACCELERATED AGING AND IMMERSION IN A COFFEE SOLUTION

        The color stability of current prosthetic composites is unknown, even though the quality of composite materials has been improving. This study examined the intrinsic color stability of various current prosthetic resins (ceramic-polymers) after an accelerated aging process and the extrinsic color stability after immersion in a coffee solution. By comparing the amount of discoloration after aging with that without aging, the effect of the accelerated aging process on external discoloration could be evaluated. Three current prosthetic composites (Artglass, Targis, Sculpture), one light polymerized direct composite (Z100) and one dental porcelain control (Ceramco) were assessed. The color changes (${\Delta}$E) of all the specimens were determined using the CIE $L^{*}a^{*}b^{*}$ color order system with a reflected spectrophotometer. The results were as follows: 1. The prosthetic composite materials subjected to the accelerated aging test showed no significant difference in color changes (p >.05). 2. In the coffee solution immersion test after the aging process, the color changes of the Targis and Artglass groups were not different from that of the Z100 group, which showed the highest color change. 3. In the immersion only test, a significantly high color change was observed in the sculpture glazing group. 4. The aging process influenced on the color changes more in the Targis, Artglass and Z100 groups than in the Sculpture and Ceramco groups.

        Today, the duodenal tuberculosis is a very rare disease. Final diagnosis of duodenal tuberculosis is difficult due to inconsistent symptoms and nonspecific duodenal lesions. We found 2 cases of duodenal tuberculosis by gastrascopy. In gastroscopic findings, there were undetermined ulcers and irregular nodular mucosal changes.

        Kim, Chang-Ik. 1999. It-cleft Presupposition and Anaphoricity. Linguistics 7-2, 269-288. The purpose of this paper is to explore van der Sandt's (1989) notion of presupposition as anaphora and empirical evidence for the anaphoricity of cleft presupposition. Presupposition is treated as a species of propositional anaphora The presupposed proposition is seen as requiring an antecedent in the discourse context in order to be felicitous, in much the same way as anaphors such as definite descriptions do. Empirical evidence that presupposition acts anaphorically in discourse can be of three types. With special reference to it-cleft presupposition, the anaphoric features are examined. The first feature is that elements that are ambiguous between an anaphoric and an emphatic use take on their anaphoric reading when placed within an it-cleft presupposition. A second anaphoric feature of it-cleft presuppositions is their ability to establish contrastive relationships with preceding discourse. A third one in presupposition can be couched as a simple distinction between utterances that remind and utterances that Worm. (Hoseo University)

        To study the temperature change and the degree of heat loss during general anesthesia, skin temperature, tympanic temperature and rectal temperature were measured in 21 patients. Mean skin temperature was calculated from four probes situated on the lateral aspect of the mid-calf, the ventral surface of the mid-thigh, the nipple and the lateral aspect of the upper arm, using the formula of Ramanathan, and the heat loss can be calculated by Burton's formula. the result are as follows. 1. Mean skin temperature increased higher than control value at 20 minute, not significantly. thereafter remained high. 2. Tympanic temperature decreased significantly at 20 minute (p<0.005), esophageal temperature decreased at 60minute, and rectal temperature decreased at 90 minute significantly (p<0.05). 3. There was continuous loss of total body heat during general anesthesia. 4. In the recovery room, the aural temperature increased progressively.

      • 강원도지역에서 발생한 발진열과 쯔쯔가무시병

        In Korea, there has been an increasing concern on rickettsiosis as one of most prevailing acute febrile illness, since murine typhus and scrub typhus had not been reported for 2 decades until 1986 and thereafter a few studies were reported on these diseases. A microimmunofluorescence test was used to study antibodies to R. typhi and R. tsutsugamushi in urban and rural inhabitants students, and patiants suspected of leptospirosis or rickettsiosis from 1986 to 1987 in Kangwon-do Korea. 43% of inhabitatnts and 17% of students reacted to R. typhi. Only one inhabitant among inhabitants and students reacted to R. tsutsugamushi. Among 169 patients, 43(25%) reacted to R. typhi, 38(22%) to R. tsutsugamushi and 25(15%) to Leptospira interrogans. Sexual rate(male; female) in murine typhus was 1.7:1, that in scrub typhus was 1:2.2 and that in leptospirosis was 1.5;1. The age ditribution of patients with murine typhus was generally even over 20 years old. But 71% of patients with scrub typhus were over 40 years old. Scrub typhus was most prevailing in female over 40 years old. Murine typhus was relatively more prevailing in Choonchun city than rural area as compared with scrub typhus and leptospirosis. Most of scrub typhus occurred in rural area. Most of each disease occurred between September and November (murine typhus; 93%, scrub typhus; 95%, leptospirosis; 84%) with a peak in October. Scrub typhus considerably occurred not only October(58%) but also November(28%). All patients with scrub typhus were immediately diagnosed by antibody when they visited hospital. 53% of patients with murine typhus were diagnosed when they visited hospital within 7 days after onset of illness, and others were done by second sera obtained 8 days after. The patients in whom IgM was seronegative but antibodies of other class were seropsitive by 20 days after onset of illness, were 14% in murine typhus and 26% in scrub typhus. At least those patients were considered to be infected second. Murine typhus and scrub typhus were suggested to be endemic diseases in Kangwon-do as antibodies of inhabitants and characteristics of patients' sera were considered. By serologic finding of patients with scrub typhus in Kangwon-do, Gilliam was 59'% of etiologic strain of scrub typhus, Karp was 41q% and Kato was none. Most scrub typhus occurred in person to be related to agriculture, but murine typhus was not related to job and occurred more in small city than rural area. Rash was scarcely detected in murine typhus and scrub typhus, and eschar was in 50% of scrub typhus only. Serum transaminase elevated in many patients with scrub typhus and murine typhus. Leukocytosis and abnormal finding in chest X-ray were showed in some patients with scrub typhus but were scarcely in murine typhus.

      • Efficiency of Flushing through a Sluice-Gated Weir

        <P>The four major rivers restoration project (4MRRP) was carried out in Korea between Oct., 2009 and Sep., 2012. The major purposes and effects of the 4MRRP were flood control, safe water security and water quality improvement. For flood control, 450 million m<SUP>3</SUP> of sediments were dredged with the reinforcement of 620 km-long old levees. Sixteen weirs were constructed and 93 reservoir banks were elevated for safe water security. Deformation of the main channels appeared to be inevitable because the longitudinal slope and cross section of the river had changed. In particular the construction of weirs could take the role of sediment detention ponds because the weirs will slow down the velocity and reduce the capability of sediment transportation. Therefore, it is crucial to determine how the siltation phenomena upstream of a weir can be fixed. This study examined the sluicing efficiency of the gate operation for the Gumi weir using 2-dimensional numerical simulations.</P>

        An application for patent shall be made or authorized to be made by the inventor, which can be either a sole inventor or multiple co-inventors. Failure to do so results in the abandonment of the patent application. During the course of prosecuting the application (that is, arguing why the application should be issued), claims may be amended in such a way that named inventors must be changed. A means for a putative inventor to assert inventorship after issuance is to begin an invalidation proceeding with regard to the original patent. Generally, courts have required a party seeking to invalidate a patent on incorrect inventorship grounds to bear a heavy burden of proof. Courts are hesitant to invalidate a patent for incorrect inventorship because it is a highly technical defens that destroys an otherwise valid patent. The putative inventor must file a patent application for the disputed invention with the correct inventorship.
